If you thought Usher couldn’t get any more douchy after threatening to sue one of his biggest fansites for reprinting negative articles about his pregnant tranny wife that originated somewhere else - you were wrong. Usher is said to be converting to Tom Cruise’s cult, Scientology.

Usher even wants his baby to be raised in the traditions of the cult. It’s doubtful he grasps what it entails since he’s learning about Scientology by going through the gradual process of getting brainwashed and bilked out of his cash by the cult itself instead of just spending 10 minutes reading about it on the Internet like the rest of us. That means that even if Usher comes to his senses and realizes that Scientology is only going to ruin his life, he can’t really speak out against them because they’ve already gathered enough incriminating information about him in the auditing process to threaten him with for the rest of his life. Maybe that’s really why Seinfeld said it was so awesome - so they wouldn’t reveal the average gay experience he had in college.

It looks like Scientology is adding another celebrity to it’s ranks… Usher! “He’s so excited,” a source close to the singer tells Star, “He’s in training now.” The reason: fatherhood! “He thinks it’s important to raise his baby as a Scientology,” says the source. Usher, who is expecting a boy with new wife Tameka Foster any day now, is so serious that he co-chaired a $1,500-a-plate fundraiser for both his New Look Foundation and Scientology’s controversial New York City Rescue Workers Detoxification Project in Las Vegas on November 3. The project claims to help Ground Zero workers detox with the help of saunas and vitamins instead of medication. Meanwhile, über-Scientologist Tom Cruise sits on the board of Usher’s foundation, which tries to assist “underserved communities” through social programs.

It sounds like Tom Cruise was instrumental in getting Usher involved in Scientology since he’s on the board of Usher’s charitable foundation. Maybe Usher stupidly thought it would be good for his career.

Does this mean that Tameka has to resist the urge to yell at Usher during the birth, and will little Usher the umpteenth have to be fed barley water instead of breast milk or formula? All jokes aside, Usher is an ass but he doesn’t deserve to get sucked into Scientology. Best wishes to Usher and his family for a quick and uneventful exit from the cult that doesn’t involve intimidation or blackmail.

Usher and Tameka Foster make me ill. Mostly because – by most accounts – she’s the devil, and he has no freaking clue. He’s all, “Love the satanic beast that’s carrying my child, world, or I will smite my fans and tell them off.” Alright that’s my reinterpretation, but I think it’s pretty close to the real thing. Usher and Maneka have given an interview to Essence, in which they talk about their shock – shock! – that people had such a negative reaction to their relationship. It’s a classic “What’s wrong with all of you?” type of articles.

“Usher and his new wife, Tameka Foster, say they were taken aback by all the rumors that swirled about their relationship this summer – but in the end, it made them stronger as a couple. ‘Ours is not a typical love story, but it is a true one,’ Usher tells Essence magazine for its November issue. ‘Tameka and I have been fortunate enough to go through the thick of it in the beginning. We’ve had that opportunity to huddle up as a team, to make sure that we’re clear and speak as one voice.’

“Usher and Foster were married Aug. 4 in a simple ceremony in Atlanta, after canceling a more lavish event in the Hamptons – and enduring speculation about their commitment to each other and the support they were getting from their families. Um, what’s happened to us is that you married a gold-digging tranny, and everyone but you can see it. Even your mama, who failed to show up to any of your weddings. I think the real reason they called off the first wedding was they found out it’s illegal for a man to marry a pre-op transsexual in New York. Well at least in the Hamptons.

Usher’s much-talked about wish for a son will come true – he told People magazine that he and new wife/possible man Tameka Foster are expecting a son. Earlier this month, Usher told Ellen Degeneres that he’s hoping for a boy and said, ““I think every man wants a son. He’s own little own doll. If it’s a boy, I’m going to name him Usher. I’m hoping to name him that. I’ve been playing with a few names. I’m the fourth. Usher Raymond the fourth. I just want to pass the name on. Maybe I’ll change the middle name.” All right… I wasn’t quite so aware that every man wanted his own little doll, but whatever. Apparently Usher will get just that. Usher Jr Jr Jr is going to have some serious roman numerals after his name.

Usher wants his baby to be fully coherent? Like he’s hoping to have a discussion with the kid from the get go, or just that the kid’s eyes move? I think it was just an odd choice of words, but it leaves me wondering what he’s expecting from the kid nonetheless.

So the wedding went off without a hitch (this time at least). The third time is definitely the charm for Usher and Tameka Foster. Next we get to gossip about the pregnancy, along with subtle (and not so subtle) digs about Tameka’s jaw line and hint of an Adam’s apple. Usher was interviewed on “Ellen” today, and talked a bit about the wedding. Ellen’s not exactly known for her hard-hitting interview style, so she lobbed a few jokes his way but didn’t get all up in Usher’s grill about the wedding cancellation hoopla. And I expect Ellen to get up in people’s grills. Usher said that he and Tameka don’t know the baby’s sex, but he hopes it’ll be a boy.

The singer told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres that he hopes that his baby will be a boy. I’m pretty sure that, no matter what the gender, if it’s got half of Tameka’s DNA that baby is guaranteed to at least LOOK like a boy. I give this couple 2 years, max. And I’m only saying that much time so I don’t get yelled at in the comments. Whatever went on before the marriage - that led to the wedding being canceled a few hours before the event – has got to be significant. There’s no way whatever it was could be resolved within a week. And no woman I know would be willing to get married in a lawyer’s office at the last minute, unless they had something up their sleeve. I know there’s the whole “Tameka was in prison” thing, and the “threatening to kill her half-sister for ratting her out to the National Enquirer” thing. It’s completely my own conjecture, but I think their issues are just the general “Tameka is batshit crazy” thing and “Tameka is really a dude named Tyrone in disguise” thing. And a guy can get over a lot of things, but finding out his lady is a dude is not one of them.

Several celebrity couples got married on this long holiday weekend, including a pair that were already married and just wanted everyone to know how happy, normal and rich they are.

Usher and Tameka’s Do-Over
Usher, 28, and his pregnant man-faced bride, Tameka Foster, 38 had their “dream wedding” in Atlanta yesterday. They were already married, though, after a civil ceremony on August 3rd following their previous canceled wedding. Their first lavish ceremony, set to be held at at L.A. Reid’s estate in the Hamptons, was canned at the last minute. They claimed it was due to Tameka’s pregnancy complications, but everyone speculated that it was more likely to do with the negative story that came out in the Enquirer that week claiming she was an ex-con who once dated a drug-dealer who was shot-down execution style.

Tameka also is said not to get along with Usher’s mom, who she was rumored to have arranged to have fired as his manager, and that was complicating matters. Usher’s mom was noticeably absent from this latest wedding at the Chateau Elan Winery & Resort outside of Atlanta. 200 other guests were there, though, and enjoyed dinner in the ballroom following the exchange of vows.

Kate Walsh’s Whirlwind Wedding
Kate Walsh, 39, from Grey’s Anatomy, married the guy she’s been gushing about to the press, movie executive Alex Young, 36, in Ojal, California on Saturday.

Kate’s Grey’s co-stars were in attendance, including Katherine Heigl, Chandra Wilson, Sara Ramirez, Justin Chambers, and Shonda Rhimes. The reception was held at the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa’s Casa Elar, a “Spanish-style estate.”

The pair just met in February and are getting hitched less than seven months later. I know a lot of people make it work when they get married before even dating a year, but to me that’s not enough time to come to a sane decision over whether you want to spend the rest of your life with someone. Your brain is still addled from all those love endorphins.

Bill Rancic and Guiliana DePandi’s Interminable Ceremony
I’ve been to several full Catholic ceremonies. They’re wicked long. I remember my uncle grinding his jaw throughout my cousin’s nearly hour-long ceremony, and that’s really all I can remember because I had to focus on something it went on so long. The bride was beautiful and it was touching and all, but really you can get the same feeling in 20 minutes instead of dragging it out and adding lots of scripture and ceremony in there. Everyone is just waiting for the party afterwards anyway.

So if a regular Catholic wedding is hard to sit through, imagine a full Catholic ceremony held in two languages. It doesn’t matter how pretty the church is decorated or how gorgeous the bride looks, that has got to be boring. (I’m really sorry if I’m offending Catholic people, I was raised Catholic, but there’s only so much church I can take.)

The first Apprentice Bill Rancic married E! News’s Guiliana DePandi in Italy on the island of Capri yesterday, and they had a full ceremony in both English and Italian. Their church was decorated with white roses and candles, and Rancic says they “wanted a very old school, full Catholic mass.” DePandi was born in Napoli and is a devout Catholic. Rancic and DePandi go to church together every Sunday.

The guests were bussed to the center of Capri and were entertained by Neopolitan singers and dancers. From there they walked to a reception at the Gran Hotel Quisisana.

They will not have a honeymoon for now as they both have work commitments. At least they’ll have tomorrow off.

Us Weekly is reporting that Usher and Tameka Foster will have a real, proper, old school wedding this weekend in Atlanta – though as they rightly point out, with these two, you can never be sure. The first – a lavish Hamptons affair - wedding didn’t go so well. Though it still remains unclear, rumors swirled that Usher backed out at the last minute (literally hours before the wedding) and then Tameka reeled him back in/threatened to chop off his balls and eat them for dinner (both equally likely) and the couple blamed pregnancy complications for the postponement. Usher’s mom supposedly hates Tameka (perhaps because of the internet rumors that she’s actually a man, though I think she just has unfortunate jaw structure) and that played a big part in his doubts. They got married a week later at the office of Usher’s lawyer. Sensing that wasn’t the most romantic option, the two are having a “do-over” of sorts.

“After getting hitched in a secret civil ceremony earlier this month, R&B superstar Usher and his new wife Tameka Foster are holding a big bash this weekend for those who missed out.

“Mr. & Mrs. Usher Raymond are planning an official wedding ceremony in Atlanta, according to Us Weekly magazine.

“The two lovebirds were initially going to exchange vows in a star-studded wedding at music mogul Antonio “L.A.” Reid’s Hamptons home on July 28. However, the 28-year-old singer and 37-year-old stylist canceled it at the last minute, and decided to have a civil wedding days later in his lawyer’s Atlanta office.

I’m sorta surprised this thing hasn’t been annulled already. I don’t like sounding like some old lady but it seems pretty clear Tameka Foster has her hooks in Usher and is clinging tight. Or maybe it’s just because the whole internet seems to hate her, and it’s hard to find a single good picture of her. Hip-hop blog SOHH.com really has a love/ hate/disgust relationship with Foster that’s kind of funny.

I don’t think she looks THAT much like a man. If I didn’t know her and saw her in person, I’m guessing my evaluation would depend entirely on her voice, so it could really go either way. She’s definitely gotten the reputation of a gold-digging, domineering crazy lady. It’d be really sad if that’s not the case, and she just got that reputation from outsiders looking in. So let’s hope it’s the case and she’s totally crazy – so we have years of good drama ahead of us.

Usher’s publicity team has really been working overtime the last few weeks. Despite all the drama, he finally wed Tameka Foster in his lawyer’s office a week ago today. It was reported by pretty much every major news source, including the Associated Press and Reuters, that Usher’s mother, Jonetta Patton, attended the civil ceremony. This made it sound like some kind of amends had been made. Jonetta had refused to attend the planned (and then canceled) lavish Hamptons wedding on July 28th, and reports were that Usher flew to Atlanta to make amends with her right after he canceled the affair. So it seemed like all was well and good after all since the one biggest holdout finally assented. However it turns out that’s not true.

“A source close to the family confirms that Usher’s mother and former manager, Jonetta Patton, was a no-show at the ceremony, reportedly held in Usher’s lawyer’s office, and she instead chose to spend the day at a spa in Atlanta. ”As for the rest of Usher’s inner circle, ‘some people didn’t know about [the civil wedding] until a day later,’ says a source. ‘But that’s Usher and Tameka for you. One thing one day and a whole other thing the next.’

“The missing mom could add fuel to the rumor fires circulating after the R&B singer, 28, called off his lavishly planned July 28 Hamptons wedding at the last minute. Other theories for the postponement include a dust-up over wedding details, a pregnant Foster, 37, being reluctant regarding a prenup (she eventually agreed to sign one) and a strained relationship with Patton, who apparently does not get along with her new daughter-in-law.

“Possible points of contention mentioned in the media are that Foster has three children from a previous marriage as well as a 1991 conviction for auto theft. The newlyweds plan to make it up to their whiplashed friends and family by throwing a big bash in Atlanta in a few weeks.”

I hope their PR people get an enormous raise after this whole debacle. I’m talking six figures, absolute minimum. With all the drama and confusion and double talk that went on the last few weeks (and don’t forget that story about Tameka putting a hit on her half sister), you have to give them credit for sticking with it. You just know this marriage is going to go down in a ball of flames.

Well it appears Usher was being led down the aisle after all. Although he had previously canceled his nuptials to former stylist Tameka Foster at the last possible minute, the pair wed this past Friday, in an ultra-romantic setting: his lawyer’s office. Why get married at a beautiful estate in the Hamptons when you can do it next to a rolodex? The Chicago Sun Times reports:

“Despite canceling their nuptials scheduled to occur earlier this week, the on-again, off-again wedding of Usher and his pregnant fiancée was finally on — and held quietly Friday, sources told Stella’s Column late Friday night.

“The multiplatinum singer married his longtime girlfriend, Tameka Foster, who is several years older than he, during a private ceremony in his lawyer’s office in Atlanta on Friday, sources said.

“Among those present was Usher’s mother, Jonetta Patton, who, it has been widely reported, staunchly disapproved of the marriage. Foster was reportedly largely responsible for Usher firing his mom as his manager last May.

“The pair, who are expecting their first child together this fall, had been scheduled to marry last weekend before Usher publicist Patti Webster announced the wedding was called off.

“The couple reportedly disagreed over an elaborate prenuptial agreement supported by Usher’s mother”.

Awww. Romance truly is in the air. In keeping with the tone of the wedding, I’m guessing the pair honeymooned at the Sams Club down the street. If I were one of the hundred or so guests who flew in for the canceled wedding just a week earlier, I’d be asking for my present back right about now. The first affair would have taken place at music producer L.A. Reid’s 10,000-square-foot mansion in Sagaponack, and was to have included “70 to 100 guests, including Janet Jackson, Jermaine Dupri, Beyoncé and Jay-Z.” It seemed that Usher was talked back into the wedding within a few days, and despite initially saying they would give no further comment on the cancellation of their wedding, both he and Tameka reported to the press that she’d actually had pregnancy complications. Right.

“Before news broke of the pregnancy scare, it was believed that Usher’s mother and former manager, Jonnetta Patton, did not approve of Foster and had not been invited to the wedding.

“’The reason he called off the ceremony is that he couldn’t go through with it without Jonnetta,’ an insider told the Post. ‘He had an eleventh-hour epiphany.’

“Patton attended the wedding on Friday, the Sun-Times reported.

“The Grammy-award-winning artist also reportedly had a falling out with his godfather, actor Ben Vereen, over the relationship and had cut him from the guest list.”

I don’t really remember Ben Vereen, but I’m pretty sure he was the punch line to a lot of jokes in the eighties. As I’m sure Usher will be for quite a while too. Good luck to their baby; drama seems to follow these two at every turn.

Tameka Foster, Usher’s (former?) fiancé, is letting everyone know that the wedding is still on. According to Foster, their wedding was canceled because she was suffering from pregnancy complications. Different sources cite her as going into the hospital on Friday afternoon (before the wedding was postponed/canceled), Saturday afternoon (the day of the wedding) or Sunday afternoon. It’s hard to tell from the articles if they have bad fact-checkers or are getting different stories from Usher and his people. According to Foster’s most recent statement, after she went into the hospital on Friday, the doctor said the baby was fine, and she was suffering cramping due to nerves. At this point, she and Usher decided to postpone the wedding. If that’s the case, I wonder why they waited until a few hours before the wedding to make an announcement? And why in the world would they have been so deliberately vague, when they’d obviously have to explain themselves later? I call B.S. on Tameka Foster and every word that comes out of her mouth. But she made sure People magazine knew everything great:

“No one [in the media] knows why we canceled the wedding, but I can tell you that all of the reasons that everyone is speculating and writing about are completely untrue.”

Alright, then why all the secrecy if you’re just going to talk about it a few days later? It seems like a lot of crap has hit the fan for Usher lately. He fired most of his people (including his mother) after he started dating Foster. Then a few weeks ago, he went apeshit on one of his fan sites for reprinting articles that weren’t very complimentary of Tameka. Then they have that tersely worded press release which did use the word “canceled” in terms of the wedding and made it clear they wouldn’t talk about it. And now they’re surprised or annoyed that people think their wedding is off? According to pretty much every website on the planet, Tameka is a major pain in the butt. She’s got a criminal record, is supposedly bossy and domineering, and has alienated Usher’s mother from the artist. The two were spotted together today holding hands, and they both confirmed that the wedding is still (or back) on. Usher told Us Magazine “As of right now we don’t have a date but we will let you know when we do.” Run while you can!

Usher, 28, and his pregnant fiance Tameka Foster, 37 (or 36 or 38 according to various reports) pulled a Ben and J.Lo this weekend, canceling their hastily-planned lavish wedding at the last minute. It was due to be held at famed record producer LA Reid’s estate in the Hamptons on Saturday and between 70-100 guests had to be told that it was called off. Usher’s publicist announced that it will not happen, and leaves all the speculation up to us:

“It was announced today that the wedding ceremony for Usher Raymond IV and Tameka Foster was canceled. No additional information will be given.”

This news comes right after details came out about Foster’s criminal past. The National Enquirer just published a story about Foster’s two arrests, one for petty theft in 1991 in which she served 20 days in jail, and another for what was said to be welfare fraud, for which she was sentenced with community service.

What’s more is that Tameka’s first boyfriend was killed “in a drug-related execution-style shooting,” claims the Enquirer. That sounds like it has nothing to do with her, and they’re adding it because it’s a salacious detail. All that happened a long time ago, but do you think it might have been news to Usher too?

Valencia, 49, explained that Usher led a prayer before dinner, then turned to her and said: “‘You know all the family secrets - tell me about them.’ Before I could say a word, Tameka kicked me so hard under the table she almost put a hole in my leg,” Valencia said.” Then she pulled me aside and whispered: ‘Don’t tell him anything.’ “Tameka, fleeing from a troubled home life, moved in with Valencia when she was 11. “She arrived with $14 in food stamps in her purse,” recalled Valencia. “She turned out to be a nightmare. “By 14, she had become involved with a married drug dealer five years older than her, Valencia says. “I banned him from the house – but four years later she was pregnant with his baby when his car was ambushed and he was riddled with bullets. Tameka missed being with him in the car by minutes.

“Court records show that Tameka has been arrested twice. In 1991, she served 20 days in the Los Angeles County Jail for petty theft and was placed on probation for two years. Records indicate she had previously served jail time. An earlier arrest in Alameda County, Calif., involved “some kind of welfare fraud, and she was sentenced to perform community service,” said Valencia. Tameka, Usher’s former wardrobe stylist, has three children and is expecting the singer’s baby in the fall. Usher, 28, recently shocked fans by reportedly firing his manager mother and replacing her with Tameka. The 38-year-old I thought she was susposed to be 36 bride asked her father, John Foster, to give her away at the wedding in the Hampton’s, the tony New York enclave. But Tameka threatened to ban her mom from the ceremony - because she had lost her false teeth! “Tameka told her: ‘You’re not coming to my wedding without teeth,’ ” Valencia said. “I asked her why she didn’t buy her mother a new set, and she told me: ‘Let her get her own fucking teeth- she didn’t take care of me when I was young.’ “Valencia says Tameka’s mom bought the new teeth herself - and she believes one day Usher will discover the truth about his new bride. “Usher is so much in love he’s under her spell,” she said. “But he’s going to find out she’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing.”

Usher went off a couple of weeks ago on bloggers and fan sites for bashing his older fiance. He wrote an asinine “open letter” claiming “I am happy, excited, completely clear and independent on my direction, feelings, decisions and I am NOT BEING LED. Some media and bloggers have been totally intrusive, they have misconstrued aspects of my personal life and, because of this, my ‘true’ fans are not sure about what is fact and what is fiction.”

Many fans were wary of Foster and weren’t hesitant to warn Usher about her on blogs and message boards. Rumors about Tameka focused on the fact that she may be pregnant with another man’s baby considering when she first started dating Usher and how far along she is, and that she forced Usher to fire his mother as manager and is trying to control him. Usher targeted a fan site, UsherForever.com, for reprinting stories critical of Foster that originated on gossip site MediaTakeOut. The creator of UsherForever was sent a harsh cease and desist by Usher’s lawyers, and she claims that it came after she refused to turn over the site to Usher’s people.

I bet all that legal crap will be dropped by Usher’s lawyers, because it sounds to me like he figured out that everyone was right about Foster after all.
