Pregnant Kendra Wilkinson gets married at the Playboy Mansion

90628p1_wilkinson_b-gr_07
Former “Girl Next Door” reality star/Playboy Playmate Kendra Wilkinson married her football player fiancé Hank Baskett Saturday. The two were wed at the Playboy Mansion, but Kendra’s ex-boyfriend/father figure Hugh Hefner did not give the bride away. According to US Weekly’s sources, Hef was Kendra’s first choice to walk her down the aisle, but she ended up going with her brother, Colin.

The ceremony was held on the lawn of the Playboy Mansion, which is supposed to be lovely. I’ve seen bits and pieces of the Mansion’s grounds (yes, I watched Hef’s A&E Biography), and they are beautifully manicured and extensive. The bride, the groom and the groomsmen all wore white (which I think is a little tacky, but whatever) while the bridesmaids wore lavender:

In a wedding fit for a princess, Playboy Playmate Kendra Wilkinson wed her NFL player beau Hank Baskett at her onetime residence, the Playboy mansion in Los Angeles’s exclusive Holmby Hills, on Saturday, PEOPLE confirms.

At around 6:45 p.m., the Playmate and former Girls Next Door star, 23, walked down the aisle in a white dress, dripping in more than $100,000 worth of platinum jewelry by Michael Barin, including drop earrings, a pendant and bracelet. The groom also wore white, as did the groomsmen, while the bridesmaids were in lavender.

Among the hundreds of guests were former boyfriend and Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and fellow Playmate Bridget Marquardt, who was among the bridal party.

The bride and groom married out in the open on a lawn, and there were white rose petals and flower wreaths decorating the aisle.

“She was beaming,” says an eyewitness.

The wedding week kicked off with date night Monday evening at the premiere of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, where Wilkinson told PEOPLE, “I feel great! We’re just ready to say our ‘I do’s’ and just go on our honeymoon and we’re ready to be married.” Her sole concern? “Tripping down the aisle,” she admitted.

Wednesday afternoon the bride-to-be relaxed with some personal pampering and girl time with her mother, grandmother and bridal party at Face to Face Los Angeles, a salon in Studio City.

The happy couple announced some other big news earlier this month – their first child, due on Christmas day.

[From People]

Man, that’s a lot of jewelry. I’ve never understood the need or desire for a bride to deck herself out in gobs of diamonds - should the wedding ring be the only piece that really “pops”? Maybe I’m just old-fashioned that way. Oh, well. Congratulations to Kendra and Hank - I have a feeling he’s going to have to put up with a lot. Not that Kendra’s a bad person, just that she’s not very bright, and she annoys the hell out of me. But that’s wonderful that she found love, and she’s probably absolutely thrilled with her dream wedding and the baby on the way, so good for her.

Reese Witherspoon & daughter to wear matching dresses for wedding?

90606x7_gyllenhaal_b-gr_01
Rumors about the engagement/impending marriage of Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal are a dime a dozen. Every couple of months, a new round begins, sometimes even with a new twist on the old story. Personally, I really like Reese and Jake, and I think they love each other and know what they’re doing. If they get married, great. If not, I understand. My reading of the situation has always been that Reese is gun-shy after her devastating divorce to Ryan Phillippe.

So, onto the latest rumor! This comes from In Touch Weekly, and I just found it very cute. Reese and Jake haven’t even formally gotten engaged, but Reese already has her dress picked out! What made it really funny for me is that Reese picked out a dress, making sure that her daughter Ava could wear an identical, miniature version. Considering Ava is already the Mini-Me version of Reese, the matching dresses could be overkill:

She may not be officially engaged yet, but Reese Witherspoon has already decided on the dress.

“Reese has picked out the gown she’s going to wear when she and Jake [Gyllenhaal] finally get married,” says a pal of the actress’. “It’s an unconventional color just like Gwen Stefani’s, and her daughter, Ava, will wear an identical dress.”

Ava, 9, loves matching her mom and already has about 50 identical outfits, says the friend, so she’s very excited to walk down the aisle as the flower girl, wearing a miniature version of Reese’s gown.

Jake and Reese have been together since 2007, and as previously reported by In Touch, he is so smitten by Reese that he has proposed numerous times, as recently as their last trip to Italy, but Reese was hesitant to say yes after her failed marriage to Ryan Phillippe.

But it seems that she is finally ready to make things official. In addition to the gown, Reese is already planning an intimate ceremony at her Ojai, California home.

She’s also content that Ava and son Deacon, 5, adore Jake.

“He not only wants to be her husband, he wants to take responsibility for her children,” says his pal. “they’re in a good place.”

[From In Touch Weekly, print edition, June 22 2009]

I always end up rooting for Reese. If Jake makes her happy, so be it. I think Jake is probably really close to both Ava and Deacon, and the four of them seem to spend a lot of time together. So, will Jake and Reese ever really tie the knot? Reese strikes me a traditional girl, and yet there are those nagging worries about fidelity, right? Go for it, Reese! Jake will make you happy!

Reese and Jake are shown out in NY on 6/6/09. Thanks to ANT GRIFFITH/bauergriffinonline.com. Reese and Ava are shown out on 12/10/08. Credit: Fame Pictures

Colin Farrell will be his gay brother’s best man

Colin Farrell In Dublin
Colin Farrell and his brother, Eamon, in 2003

Colin Farrell is heading down the aisle… as his brother’s best man. His brother Eamon, as devoted Colin-loonies know, is openly gay, and Eamon has decided to make an honest man out of his long-time boyfriend Steven Mannion. Word of the engagement spread last year, and I even found this report on a gay-issues website Pink News that “It is rumored Colin… helped Eamon choose a diamond and sapphire-studded ring for his boyfriend.” Aww, that’s so sweet. Sapphires are a gentleman’s best friend!

Eamon is a dance instructor and his soon-to-be husband is an artist. Colin and older bro Eamon are reportedly very close, even owning homes just down the street from each other in Dublin. Unfortunately, Eamon and Steven won’t be getting married in Ireland - the country doesn’t even recognize anything along the lines of civil unions or domestic partnerships for gay couples. So where will Eamon and Steven marry? It’s still up in the air, but Eamon is thinking somewhere in Europe.

He’s the perpetual bachelor who’s yet to find a woman who can make an honest man out of him, but ladykiller Colin Farrell is set to walk down the aisle - as the best man at his gay brother’s wedding.

The Hollywood star’s brother Eamon Farrell, who will be marrying partner Steven Mannion in front of a host of family and friends at a European hotspot this summer, has revealed that Colin may play the key role at his upcoming nuptials.

Colin, who will be attending the wedding along with other close family and friends, is also likely to be heading down the aisle with his two sisters who will be bridesmaids.

This will be the first gay wedding in his Irish family, but professional choreographer Eamon has expressed dismay at being unable to marry in his home country saying: ‘We have to get married abroad. It’s absolutely terrible. We have to go somewhere legal, which narrows it down to about five countries.’

Speaking at his partner’s art exhibition at the Oriel gallery in Dublin, Eamon said about his long-term partner: ‘I can’t wait to marry him. He is the most wonderful, happy person. He is always so full of positive energy.’

And joking about his decision to opt for a full marriage instead of a civil union, he said: ‘I don’t really like civil union cake — I want a wedding cake at my party. Who wants a civil union? It’s just so legal.’

‘I want to be able to get married. The Government’s paper on civil unions is only for gay people. If you’re straight you can’t have one. So that’s not fair either. If you want a civil union you should be able to do it, if I want to get married I should be able to do it.’

But don’t expect to see images of Colin holding his brother’s coat tails as he walks down the aisle in any of the weeklies.

‘We definitely won’t be doing a magazine deal. Are you kidding?’ he shrieked. ‘Oh my God, I’d be mortified. Colin is famous, I’m not.’

Meanwhile, with no sign of settling down, Colin, who’s been out of the spotlight for some time now, re-emerged Thursday night in Los Angeles with a mystery blonde in tow.

He was seen trying to leave Koi restaurant secretly, but was caught driving out the restaurant’s VIP parking lot with his date.

[From The Daily Mail]

Uh-oh. Colin was seen out with a mystery blonde? But his alleged girlfriend, Polish actress Alicja Bachleda, is a brunette. Not to worry, in the photos we’ve seen from that night, below, the “mystery blonde” is Alicja with dyed hair. Last we heard of Colin, he was maybe planning on shacking up with Alicja. He just bought a beautiful home in Los Angeles. Lucky girl.

Alicja Bachleda is shown below in photos from 11/26/08 (outside car) and 7/16/05 (close up). Colin is shown out in his car outside Koi with the “mystery blonde,” who is Alicja, on 5/21/09. Credit: WENN.com.

Heidi Klum and Seal hold “White Trash” themed renewal of vows

infphoto_972490
Heidi Klum and Seal renewed their wedding vows this weekend, as they do every year, but instead of heading to their villa in Costa Careyes, Mexico, where travel is restricted due to the H1N1 virus, they had a “White Trash” themed party at home in LA. At first I thought it might be an 80s-themed party, but then I saw photos of pregnant Heidi smoking a cigarette, which was hopefully a prop. She wore her hair in cornrows and had on an over the top white lace sparkling wedding dress and giant costume jewelry. Seal wore cut off shorts, a leather jacket with an American flag on the arm, and a mullet wig. Celebrity guests were seen in curlers, fanny packs, sports t-shirts and baseball caps. Decorations included hanging lights in the shape of flamingos:

They are usually one of Hollywood’s most stylish couples, but Heidi Klum and Seal really let down their guard to renew their wedding vows in Malibu yesterday.

The pair, who have been married for four years, were in high spirits as they celebrated the playful fancy dress occasion with guests including Matthew Perry and Debra Messing.

Their theme seemed to be ‘white trash’ - something that pregnant bride Heidi certainly lived up to with her braided hair, low cut jumpsuit and bejewelled accessories.

The barefoot 35-year-old was even spotted with a cigarette hanging from her heavily glossed lips.

For the sake of her fourth child let’s hope that this was as fake as her silver plastic nails.

One thing that was completely genuine, however, was the romance.

Heidi and Seal were inseparable, exchanging kisses and happy smiles as they gleefully celebrated, with the help of their three young children.

British singer Seal wore an American flag shirt and quiff wig for the service, which was watched by around 100 equally outlandishly dressed guests.

They listened to rock and roll and danced at the waterfront house, which belongs to a friend of the couple.

Earlier in the day Seal and Heidi posed for a photoshoot on the balcony of the house in Malibu, California.

[From The Daily Mail]

I have mixed feelings about these type of parties. It’s not a very original idea, and it can be construed as insensitive for mega-rich celebrities to play “poor.” Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz had a “White Trash” themed party last year, in which then-pregnant Ashlee were Daisy Dukes and a bikini top, her belly hanging out. Heidi and Seal love to dress up and it sounds like they had a lot of fun on their special day. What do you think? Was it inappropriate, does it look like fun, or a little of both?

Maggie Gyllenhaal & Peter Sarsgaard get married in Italy

Peter Sarsgaard and Maggie Gyllenhaal
Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard got married in Italy over the weekend. There were rumors swirling about the impending nuptials last week, but I doubted they would go through with it. The wedding took place in Brindisi, Italy on Saturday, with Maggie’s brother Jake and Jake’s girlfriend Reese Witherspoon in attendance. The couple has been together for nearly seven years, and are thought to have gotten engaged in 2006. That was the year Maggie got pregnant with daughter Ramona, now aged two and half.

Hollywood couple Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard have finally made it official. The two New York based actors tied the knot in a small chapel in Brindisi Italy on Saturday.

Maggie’s younger brother Jake and his lady love Reese Witherspoon were among the guests at the ceremony.

Gyllenhaal and Sarsgaard have been dating since 2002 and have two-and-a-half-month-old daughter Ramona together.

Gyllenhaal has starred in such movies as The Dark Knight, Sherrybaby, Donnie Darko and Secretary. Sarsgaard, like Gyllenhaal, is also a favorite of the indy film sect, having appeared in such movies as Boys Don’t Cry, Shattered Glass, and The Man In The Iron Mask.

From Radar Online

I wonder if Maggie will change her name to Maggie Gyllenhaal-Sarsgaard? Lord, that’s a mouth-full. Anyway, they’ve always seemed like a nice couple, and it’s always great to see a seemingly permanently “engaged” couple finally get down the aisle. I’m actually a bigger fan of Peter Sarsgaard rather than Maggie - I think he’s so lovely and talented, where Maggie is a bit overrated as an actress (my opinion). Their backgrounds are very different too - Maggie comes from a very artistic, intellectual, grounded family where Peter was an Army brat with a very nomadic childhood. Currently, Maggie, Peter and Ramona live in New York. Congratulations to Maggie and Peter!

Parts of Heidi & Spencer’s “real” wedding had to be retaped (Update)

fp_2135162_heidi_montag_and_spencer_pratt_realy_tie_the_knot___

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt got married on Saturday. And by “married,” we mean they put on a big spectacle at a church and proclaimed their everlasting love for each other. But we think that’s about as far as it goes. Last week In Touch said the pair had yet to file a marriage license, and that appears to still be the case. Everyone is speculating that this re-do/official wedding is really just the exact same thing as their Mexican “nuptials”/commitment ceremony: a big load of crap put on for the cameras.

Now Page Six has further evidence that it’s all just a load of malarkey (yes, I went there):

HEIDI Montag and Spencer Pratt’s wedding had the same problems many “reality” shows encounter. One guest at the Pasadena, Calif., wedding told Page Six, “It was the longest production ever. A generator went out in the church, so the entire ceremony was delayed and parts had to be retaped.” “Laguna Beach” starlet Kristin Cavallari caught Montag’s bouquet, and Audrina Patridge, Brody Jenner and Lauren Conrad [were in attendance].

[From Page Six]

How absolutely perfect that Kristin Cavallari caught the bouquet! What are the odds? I mean you could not have worked that out better if it had been planned. If it had been planned. And let’s give Heidi and Spencer the benefit of the doubt here: what wedding doesn’t have to pause and reshoot a few times? And most of us never even bother to file for a marriage license. That’s just a bunch of bureaucratic mumbo jumbo and whatnot. I think this sounds perfectly legit. Especially when Lauren Conrad showed up at the last minute, even though she swore she wouldn’t. All real-life weddings have surprise twists. I’m hoping the next one will be when we find out Spencer is really an autobot, and is going to self-destruct in the season finale.

Update: TMZ claims Heidi and Spencer do have a marriage license but it’s under seal.

Heidi Montag & Spencer Pratt possibly got married for real (updated)

montag pratt marry 7 260409

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt had a big ol’ church wedding this weekend. And it was possibly/probably/maybe for real. We’re definitely meant to believe that they are legitimately husband and wife, however on Friday In Touch reported that no marriage license had been filed and the two were just doing it for the season finale of “The Hills.” The show is obviously meant to be a “reality” program, so we’re supposed to buy that this marriage is legit. However In Touch says that while Montag and Pratt are spinning it as such, it’s really all the show’s producer’s idea.

Nonetheless, here are the dramatic wedding details in all their cheesy glory.

Heidi Montag is officially Mrs. Spencer Pratt.

The Hills stars got married in an early evening ceremony at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pasadena, Calif., on Saturday, PEOPLE has confirmed.

Montag, 22, and Pratt, 25, exchanged vows before about 200 guests, including Audrina Patridge, Kristin Cavallari, Brody Jenner and Frankie Delgado. The bride wore jewels from Neil Lane, including a pear-shaped diamond floral necklace with multiple diamond chains layered over it, diamond earrings and diamond hairpins, which she picked out the day before the nuptials. Pratt borrowed a pair of diamond cufflinks from the jeweler for the big day.

Early Saturday, the couple arrived at the church in a white Rolls Royce Phantom. Before the ceremony, an airplane flew overhead and wrote “Spencer loves Heidi” in the sky. Pratt, looking dapper in a black suit, smiled and signed autographs for fans outside the church.

Meanwhile, Montag posted multiple updates on Twitter throughout the day. “This is going to be the best day of my life,” she wrote at one point. “Thank you God for Spencer.” She also described her wedding dress as “amazing – like a swan princess.”

After the ceremony, the newlyweds emerged and kissed on the church steps. Wedding guests threw rose petals at the couple, who left for the reception in black Rolls Royce Phantom.

[From People]

Heidi has been Twittering about her newly-married status nonstop. So much so that you’ve got to wonder why her busy little PR-addicted fingers don’t have anything better to be doing. And of course, whatever Heidi does, Spencer mimics.

“I can’t believe I am Mrs. Pratt,” the Hills star wrote on Twitter Sunday morning, one day after her wedding to Spencer Pratt in Pasadena, Calif. “First day of married life!!!!!!” The newlywed didn’t stop there. Throughout the day on Sunday, Montag left messages to her followers about how happy she was after her spring nuptials. “Getting married has been the craziest yet best experience of my life,” she wrote.

Later that day, she said, “Watching movies and relaxing — this has been the best day as a married woman.” Monday morning, she added: “Wow, what a morning! Waking up with my husband is beyond words!!! I’m so excited I’m really married! FOREVER!”

Heidi thanked God in her Twitter, and her husband echoed the sentiments. “My life would be nothing without God!!,” he wrote Sunday on his Twitter. “I had never been touched by the holy spirit like I was yesterday in the church!! It was life changin’.”

[From Us Weekly]

By the way, God doesn’t like it when you needlessly drop your “g’s,” Spencer. I don’t think He likes it when you fake church weddings, either. In fact, regardless of whether this marriage is legally binding, one could argue that if either Spencer or Heidi are serious about their faith (no comment), they’re stuck with each other now. Wonder if they thought of that?

We tried getting in touch with the L.A. County records office to find out if the blonde wonders have file a marriage license yet, but weren’t able to get through. I swear if interest in Heidi and Spencer is so great that people are actually jamming the phone lines to find out about their wedding, I am going to be intensely upset. I hate giving these two what they want, because really all I desire in life is to give Spencer an epic swirlie. He seems the sort who has that coming, just from the look on his face. Nonetheless, I can’t help but follow them closely. It’s a disease. And by “it’s,” I mean “they’re.”

Congratulations on your maybe nuptials. Heidi the photos of your wig cascading down your shoulders are especially lovely. I give it 11 months, or when the swag runs out. Whichever happens first.

Update: TMZ claims Heidi and Spencer do have a marriage license but it’s under seal.

Salma Hayek wedding photos

salmawedding
Salma Hayek had a weekend long destination wedding in Venice, Italy attended by celebrities and bigwigs like Penelope Cruz, Bono, Anna Wintour, Antonio Banderas, Ashley Judd, Charlize Theron, and Ed Norton. Former French President Jacques Chirac was even there. Less than two weeks ago, Hayek denied that she was planning a large second wedding to follow-up her Valentine’s Day civil ceremony. She also condemned multi-million dollar weddings, saying “I think spending millions of dollars on a wedding is ridiculous and it has never been my dream. I would never do that.” Judging by the elaborate masked ball on the day before the ceremony, the ceremony with the bride in a Balenciaga gown, and the five course reception dinner, Salma and her new husband, billionaire François-Henri Pinault, had a ridiculously fabulous second wedding:

The actress and her husband, French billionaire François-Henri Pinault, tied the knot – for the second time – Saturday in a star-studded ceremony in Venice, Italy, PEOPLE has confirmed. They originally got married in a civil ceremony at the 6th Arrondisement City Hall in Paris on Valentine’s Day.

This time around, Hayek, 42, went all out. She wore a Balenciaga wedding gown by Nicholas Ghesquiere as she exchanged vows with Pinault, 46, at Venice’s opera house La Fenice. The bride, who wore her hair in a bun with a long veil, held a bouquet of orchids and stephanotis with crystals.

The couple’s daughter, Valentina Paloma, 19 months, was a flower girl, along with Francois-Henri’s son and daughter from his first marriage, Francois, 10 and Mathilde, 8. Valentina wore a dress by Bonpoint for the ceremony, which started around 7 p.m. At one point in the ceremony, the guests sang “Over the Rainbow.”

About 150 friends and family members were in attendance, including Penélope Cruz, Edward Norton, Woody Harrelson, Olivier Martinez, Luis Miguel, Ashley Judd, Charlize Theron, Stuart Townsend, Bono, Gael García Bernal, Enrique Murciano, David Blaine, Ziyi Zhang, Anna Wintour and former French President Jacques Chirac. The wedding was a black tie affair. Guests wore black and gold masks as they arrived for the nuptials.

The weekend celebration kicked off Friday evening with a carnival-style masked ball at the Venice’s historic Punta Della Dogana. The structure, which is leased from the city by Pinault’s father and has undergone a $70-million renovation, will open to the public on June 6 as the Pinault Foundation Centre for Contemporary Art.

The couple’s guests have enjoyed the sites of Italy’s most romantic city since arriving Thursday. Woody Harrelson and wife Laura were spotted hand-in-hand taking a stroll around Piazza San Marco on Thursday.

Earlier this month, Hayek told PEOPLE, “I think a wedding is about love, friends, family and fun.” And she certainly got that during the celebration surrounded by loved ones.

The actress and Pinault, the CEO of luxury-goods company PPR, met in spring 2006 at a gala party at the Palazzo Grassi in Venice, a white marble palace built in 1748-1772 and owned by the Pinault family.

[From People]

Just like the first photos of her daughter, Valentina, Salma has released her own photo from the wedding instead of offering it to the highest bidder. It really sounds like she was set against a luxury wedding and her husband talked her into it. That’s romantic that they were married in the city where they first met and it sounds like a wonderful weekend that they’ll remember forever. Congratulations to Salma and François-Henri.

Heidi and Spencer’s second wedding is fake too & they can’t sell the photos

wenn5275764
Saccharine couple Heidi and Spencer of The Hills are getting married this weekend with a second US wedding to follow their Mexican commitment ceremony that wasn’t legally binding stateside. The only problem is that they haven’t obtained the necessary license to make this second wedding legal either despite filming scenes at a court house for their MTV reality show. Their wedding this weekend won’t be legal either, according to In Touch:

This time… they’re filming the new phony ceremony for the series finale of The Hills. “It’s all set up by the producers of MTV to get people to watch,” says a source. “It’s just a plot line. They’re not really getting married, of course.”

The over-the-top wedding will take place on April 25 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pasadena, Calif., on a closed set with the entire Hills cast in attendance…

Though Heidi and Spencer’s nemesis Lauren Conrad will not be in the wedding, In Touch can confirm exclusively that she will make an appearance. “They want Lauren to do something dramatic,” the source says.

The couple agreed to another wedding in the hopes that it will land them a spin-off reality show, the source adds…

“Spencer and Heidi are so greedy for fame that they’ll do anything for it…

“They would have a fake baby if people would watch them on T.V.”

[From In Touch, print edition, May 4, 2009]

What’s more is that no magazine was willing to shell out the money they demanded for exclusive rights to the wedding photos. There’s just not enough interest in the couple and we can rest assured that we won’t have to see their phony smiles at the grocery checkout aisle for a whole week. The whole thing In Touch mentions about Lauren Conrad showing up is up to question, though, as other sources report that Lauren already filmed her scenes ahead of time because she couldn’t deal with going to the wedding. She also told David Letterman last night that she wasn’t going and joked that “my ticket is currently on eBay”:

Even though the new season of “The Hills” was watched by nearly 3 million people and the couple has been a newsstand success in the past, no magazine snatched up exclusive rights to photos for their wedding this weekend.

Why? No one weekly was willing to spend the cash the couple wanted. In tough economic times, not just any celebrity can command big bucks, and the couple could theoretically make more money by offering the photos to all the weeklies instead of just one.

“The total number that (Montag and Pratt) used to get from exclusive photos is down. It’s sometimes better to go all round with the deal and ensure you make money and get exposure, particularly when television shows are involved,” said In Touch’s Editor in Chief Richard Spencer.

The couple didn’t comment on their strategy, but a source close to them said that now that everyone’s watching their bottom line, there was no bidding war to drive up the price, and this all-around deal was the best way to make a buck in tough times.

“They’d rather be on page 50 of Us, People, In Touch or Life & Style than be on the cover of a magazine like OK! that isn’t going to sell. They need to make money, and so does the magazine. The formula is changing,” said the source.

[From MSNBC's The Scoop]

Maybe Heidi and Spencer’s dreams of a follow-up reality show will similarly be dashed by lack of interest. We have enough photos of this couple posing, kissing, fawning all over each other. What’s the difference if they’re in formal wear instead of jeans? Who really cares if they even have a real baby?

Salma Hayek plans weekend long destination wedding in Italy

Just last week, People Magazine quoted Salma Hayek denying that she was having a lavish follow-up wedding to her Valentine’s day civil ceremony with billionaire French businessman François-Henri Pinault. Hayek was outspoken in her denial, saying that “I think spending millions of dollars on a wedding is ridiculous and it has never been my dream. I would never do that.”

Salma’s uber-rich husband may have helped change her mind, because now there’s news that Salma and Fran¸ois-Henri are going to have a weekend-long destination wedding celebration in Italy and that they’re flying guests in from all over the world. That’s could cost up to seven figures depending on how many people are invited:

Salma Hayek is saying “I Do” for the second time this weekend, Usmagazine.com has confirmed.

The 30 Rock actress, 42, will wed Francois-Henri Pinault, 46 — whom she quietly married last Valentine’s Day — in Italy.

“They are being very hush hush about it,” a source tells Us of the couple, who are parents to daughter Valentina, 19 months.

Another source tells Us Hayek and Pinault, the chief executive of PPR — which owns Louis Vuitton — are flying their pals to Venice to celebrate for the entire weekend. Ashley Judd arrived today.

[From US Weekly]

It depends on how many people are flown in and what exactly they’re doing, but with a full weekend of festivities planned it’s not quite the quaint wedding that Salma seemed to prefer. It also sounds like something that will run at least a million if they have enough guests and do it up with the best food, accommodation and entertainment. Salma and her new husband definitely have the means to throw a lavish bash if that’s what they want. If this three day party is planned though you wonder if Salma was initially against it and had to be talked into it by François-Henri. Compromises are what marriages are all about.

US doesn’t have too many details and it could be more of a vacation for friends rather than a full second wedding. Given Salma’s penchant for privacy we probably won’t be seeing photos of her on her special day and will have to rely on secondhand reports. Now that the news is out you can bet the paparazzi will be trying to get those shots though.
