Octomom claims she’s lost 145 lbs without surgery

wenn2570547

After her last pregnancy Nadya Suleman dropped 40 pounds just like that. Of course she was also hauling around eight babies at one time. Suleman claims during her pregnancy with the octuplets she weighed as much as 270 lbs. Though she gave birth just nine months ago, Suleman claims to have lost a total of 145 lbs, putting her at 125. And from recent pictures it seems to be the case. She says she didn’t have any surgery, or even the help of a trainer.

Nine months after giving birth to octuplets, single mom Nadya Suleman is back into her pre-baby jeans after losing a staggering 145 pounds — without the help of a trainer or plastic surgery. “I topped 270 pounds while pregnant,” the controversial 34-year-old mother of 14 kids — Elijah, 8; Amerah, 7; Joshua, 6; Aidan, 4; twins Calyssa and Caleb, 3; and 9-month-old octuplets Josiah, Makai, Jeremiah, Nariyah, Jonah, Noah, Maliyah and Isaiah, tells the new issue of Us Weekly.

And though she easily snapped back into a size two after her other pregnancies, getting back into shape after welcoming eight babies wasn’t easy. “I was eating everything in sight,” she explains. Instantly erasing 40 pounds after delivering her octuplets, Suleman says she felt compelled to join a local gym after their birth. There, she fits in thrice-weekly midnight workouts (while a nanny watches over her sleeping children) with strength training but no cardio. “I get enough of that with the kids,” Suleman, who gets by on three hours of sleep, tells Us.

But don’t think workouts alone got the 5-foot-7 mom down to 125 lbs. — Suleman maintains a strict diet, too. Five protein-packed meals or snacks a day normally consist of “anything the kids are eating.” Food staples in the Suleman household? Oatmeal, sushi, turkey, and even homemade baby food. “As long as it’s nutritious, it’s good to eat,” the busy mom explains.

“Even my Ob-Gyn is astounded at how I’ve snapped back,” says Suleman, who did not seek any surgical help for her weight. “And she knows I haven’t had anything done!”

[From Us Weekly]

Us has the best recent picture of Nadya here. She says she lost 40 from giving birth. Which means over the course of the last nine months she’s lost 105 lbs. That seems extreme – and even impossible – but when you do the math, it comes out to about 11.5 lbs a month, or 2.9 lbs a week. Generally weight loss of 2 lbs a week is considered healthy, but 3 lbs isn’t that extreme. In my experience, my rate of weight loss isn’t constant, no matter how diligent I am with eating and exercise. I can be completely on the ball and lose 4 lbs one week and nothing the next. It seems like what’s most astounding about Nadia’s weight loss is that it looks like it was fairly constant. She doesn’t seem to have lost focus or gotten frustrated one week and eaten whatever she wanted like most of us would.

I am fairly amazed that she manages to eat five small meals a day with all those kids running around. I don’t have any distractions of that sort and I still find it challenging to eat every three hours. And getting by on three hours of sleep? That’s insane. I can’t help but wonder what Nadya’s going to look like in fifteen years. She’s relatively young now but she’s put her body through something almost none of us go through. Just because she’s snapped back now doesn’t mean she’ll always have it so easy.

In other Octomom news, she recently dressed up as a pregnant nun for a Halloween party – and dressed the octuplets up as little devils. You know, because she wasn’t getting enough attention.

Here’s Nadya bowling with her kids on September 13th. Images thanks to WENN.com .

Raven-Symone loses 35 pounds

grammy def jam arrivals 090209
Former Cosby Show child star Raven-Symone, 23, has spoken out in the past about criticism of her weight. Raven said in January of this year that she felt that she was beautiful at her size at the time, and called herself “thick and fabulous.” She said “I’m healthy, I exercise, I believe in myself, and I think I’m beautiful.” Although Raven claimed to be happy with her figure she did admit that body criticism can get to her, and said that she sometimes needs to call her best friend at the end of the day “and yell and scream and get it out.”

It looks like Raven has made some changes in her life. She was seen at an event a couple of weeks ago looking at least 35 pounds thinner, according to Star. They also include some nasty comments from a doctor who calls her before body “obese.” She was big before, but I wouldn’t classify her as “obese.” Maybe she was was, though:

Raven-Symone has always been frank about her weight struggles. “When I’m stressed, I gain,” she says. Judging from her appearance at the September 25 Teen Vogue party in LA, things are going great for the Disney star! Dr. Michael Aziz, author of The Perfect 10 Diet, believes the 5’2″ actress shed 35 pounds over the past few months. “Raven was obese,” Dr. Aziz tells Star. “Although she’s naturally a full-figured girl, she’s at a much healthier weight now.”

[From Star Magazine, print edition, October 19, 2009]

Raven looks great now. I know when I lose weight and people tell me I look good, I’m initially flattered but then I think about and am like “did I look like sh*t before, or what?” It’s like you can’t win either way, and you want people to notice but not make a big deal out of it. You do feel a lot more confident, though, and that carries over into every area of your life. Congratulations to Raven. I know I’d rather see her on the cover of a magazine than Khloe Kardashian. There’s something smug about Raven, although maybe I shouldn’t judge her based on the faces she makes in pictures. The fact that her bra is hanging out is also influencing my opinion of her.

Scarlett Johansson on weight loss: “I could never lose 14 pounds”

scarlet1
Oh, Photoshop. What would actresses do without you? Actually, I don’t think ScarJo looks too plastic-y on the cover of November’s Glamour Magazine. Her face looks gorgeous, her hair looks great (I love that shade of red on her), and overall the cover is very, very cute. But… her thighs don’t really look like that, yes? ScarJo has a lovely figure, but there’s no way her thighs are that thin. Photoshop magic shaved inches off those bad boys.

Speaking of ScarJo’s lovely figure, she talks a lot about the “ridiculous” reports of her weight loss over the past year. She claims that any report of her losing 14 pounds is totally false, saying “I could never lose 14 pounds.” Jaybird did a lot of coverage about Scarlett’s weight loss this spring, when it became obvious that Scarlett’s weight had dropped significantly while training for her role in Iron Man 2. There were even reports that ScarJo had been training with Madonna’s patented gristle-maker Tracy Anderson, a trainer who’s known for being a fraud, and for encouraging women to do really unhealthy things. Although I don’t think the Tracy Anderson thing was ever confirmed legitimately, I do believe that Scarlett, at one point this spring, had probably lost 15 to 20 pounds from her once curvy figure.

Scarlett Johansson is over endless speculation about her weight.

“There was this rumor mill cranking out stories that I had lost 14 pounds — I could never lose 14 pounds,” the actress, 25, tells the November issue of Glamour. “I hate seeing these ridiculous articles where [tabloids] guess someone’s weight.

“I can’t look at somebody who is 6 feet tall and 120 pounds and say, I’m going to get that body. That’s just never going to happen,” she admits.

Johansson — who slimmed down to wear a lycra catsuit as the Black Widow in the Iron Man 2 sequel (out next spring) — has accepted her body, she says.

“You have to work with what you’ve got,” she says. But despite coming to terms with her figure, working the red carpet still makes her freak out. I have a tumultuous relationship with it because I love to get ready for the red carpet, but being on it is very uncomfortable. It’s so freakish and weird,” Johansson says. “I get flop sweats, dry mouth, heart palpitations, allover panic!”

Johansson — who just released her second CD, a collaboration with rocker Pete Yorn — also opens up about her marriage to Ryan Reynolds. The pair wed in a low-key ceremony in Canada one year ago.

“I never really thought about getting married — it just kind of happened,” she says. “You hope that a relationship makes you better, that you learn things about yourself.…I feel more confident to explore things within myself that I hadn’t thought about in the past.”

[From Us Weekly]

By the way, all of the photographs inside Glamour are of ScarJo and her musical collaborator Pete Yorn in various cutesy poses and outfits. Pete and Scarlett worked together for the album Break Up, and they’ve spent the past few weeks doing promotion for it here and there. They also did a Rolling Stone photo portfolio that’s just as cutesy. They must really like each other. Or Pete’s just trying to hit that. What? We were all thinking it. Ryan Reynolds is going to be totes jealous.

Renee Zellweger won’t gain weight, wants fat suit for Bridget Jones 3

Renee Zellweger

I’ve mentioned this before, but I love the Bridget Jones character, and I love Renee Zellweger as that character. Even though I didn’t care for the sequel book or film, I still love the franchise, and I was thrilled when they announced the third film over the summer. At the time of the announcement, the start date for the production was left up in the air, and many people assumed that was because it would take Renee Zellweger months to put on her Bridget Jones pounds.

For the first film, Renee put on something like 25 to 30 pounds to play Bridget, and she looked lovely with the extra weight. For the sequel, Renee seemed to put on even more weight, and ended up looking rather puffy and sketchy. I was hoping for a return to the first film’s weight gain, but my hopes were just dashed. A source just told the British magazine Reveal (story via the NY Daily News) that Renee isn’t interested in gaining weight for the role for a third time, and that she’ll most likely wear padding and/or a “fat suit”.

Renee Zellweger famously packed on the pounds to play “Bridget Jones,” but she’ll be faking the fat for the third installment of the popular film franchise, according to a report.

“Renee will be wearing a fat suit in the third film, as it took her a while to lose the weight last time,” a source revealed to British magazine Reveal. “She’s also thinking about the effect quickly putting on and then losing 30 pounds has on her body.”

While some fans and bloggers are worried Zellweger’s portrayal of “Bridget Jones” will be less authentic the third go-round if she dons a fat suit, the actress has voiced concern over gaining weight for the famous role in the past.

“My body is whacked by the time we finish one of those ['Bridget Jones' movies],” Zellweger told the Daily Mail in December 2007.

She went on to tell the Mail how the 2004 fast-food documentary “Supersize Me” scared her.

“I had a panic attack with all the specialists talking about how bad this is for you, long term, putting on that much weight in short periods of time and they’re all saying, ‘You must stop this now or you’re going to die.’ “

[From the NY Daily News]

Oh for goodness sake, Renee. It’s like she never stopped to think that maybe she didn’t have to take off every single little pound she gained for the Bridget Jones films. It’s like she never looked in the mirror and said, “Yes, I am scary skinny, maybe putting on five pounds would be a good thing.” I like her and everything, but I do wonder if she has some serious body image issues. From her too-thin frame, to her trying-too-hard posing, I think Renee has gotten weird.

I also wonder if she’s refusing to put on the weight because she’s in a relationship with Bradley Cooper now, and she thinks that if she gains some weight, it will affect her relationship in a negative way. Maybe it will – God knows what kind of body type Bradley goes for, but I tend to think he would be understanding about the situation.

In one other piece of Bridget Jones-related news, I’ve been hearing some rumors that Colin Firth (Mark Darcy) hasn’t officially signed on for the third film. What’s the hold up? You can’t make the film without Mr. Darcy! The rumors go either way – some saying Colin hasn’t even been approached but that he’d love to sign on, or that Colin has been approached, and is making the producers sweat. The second one might be right on – Colin’s having a little career comeback lately, and many are pegging him for a Best Actor Oscar nomination for his work in Tom Ford’s A Single Man. He might want more money. I know I would ask for more money if I had to star with Renee in a fat suit. That’s a disaster waiting to happen.

Brad Pitt shows off his scruffy goatee while Angelina wastes away

fp_3624806_enf_pitt_brad_091809

Here’s Brad Pitt arriving for the San Sebastian International Film Festival in Spain. Quentin Tarantino is around too, but no word if any of the other stars from Inglourious Basterds will show up to promote the film. Brad’s still rocking the goatee – but it looks like he may be in the process of growing out a full beard, which might be pretty cool. I know a lot of women don’t care for this kind of scraggy facial hair mess, but I like it. I think guys should either be totally clean shaven, or just let their facial hair be messy. I hate when a bearded man is too groomed, it makes him appear fussy. My favorite messy beard? Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Now that is a who man can rock a scruffy strawberry-blonde beard. Mm…Messy facial hair makes me think of messy, dirty sex. I’m probably alone in that, but whatever. I likes what I likes.

The Daily Mail is claiming Brad left Angelina and the kids “in France” but I’m not sure if that’s true. Angelina and the kids might still be on some kind of holiday in Africa, where they’ve been for more than a week. Last weekend, Angelina visited a refugee camp on the Kenyan border, and then she took Zahara and Shiloh to Ethiopia. Maybe they did go back to France though – I really don’t know. Speaking of Angelina’s refugee camp trip, most of the tabloids are running stories this week about how thin Angelina looked. According to various sources, Angelina has lost weight because of the strain of her relationship with Brad, et cetera. Blah, blah, something about gerbils:

Angelina Jolie’s weight has plunged dramatically – and worried friends blame the shocking weight loss on her unraveling relationship with Brad Pitt.

The 5-foot-7 actress is so stressed out that she’s eating very little, and now her weight is getting close to a pin-thin 100 pounds, according to an insider.

“Angelina is so skinny that you can see the bones. She needs to get help before she wastes away,” confided the insider.

The ENQUIRER first revealed the growing concern over Angelina’s weight in February when she plummeted to 110 pounds. Since then, she’s lost even more weight, said the insider.

The 34-year-old star’s emaciated-looking frame shocked bystanders when she visited a border camp of Somali refugees in Kenya on Sept. 12 in her role as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations.

“Angelina was speaking to refugees who fight starvation every day, yet she looked as thin as many of them,” said the insider. “She was doing an amazing job, as usual, but her friends have noticed sadness in her recently as she struggles to keep her relationship with Brad together. She hardly eats anything.”

“It seems as if they fight all the time. Brad has walked out a number of times, and they were even sleeping in separate beds for a while. It’s like the more Brad pulls away from her, the more weight she loses.”

[From the National Enquirer]

Meh. She looked very thin in the pictures on the UNHCR site, but Angelina is always losing and gaining weight. I think she’s the opposite of a stress-eater, or someone who eats when they’re bored. I think that when things get busy in her life, she doesn’t eat. My other theory is that her body goes haywire after she gives birth, and she loses weight really rapidly. It was around Shiloh’s first birthday that Angelina got drastically thin – and now it’s happened again around the twins’ first birthday. Or maybe I’m wrong, and her thin frame is about bad stuff between her and Brad. Could be. Or maybe the gerbils told her to go on a diet. That’s it! It must have been the gerbils.

Penelope Cruz looks thin, is annoyed by pregnancy questions (Update)

wenn2569055
The rumors of Penelope Cruz’s alleged pregnancy have been going around for months. The alleged father of the alleged hot, Spanish love child is none other than Penelope’s Oscar-winning hottie boyfriend, Javier Bardem. Two of the biggest stories that we covered about the rumors were during the first round, in late May and early June, when Penelope had to pull out of some appearances at the Cannes Film Festival. The official story was “food poisoning” but some sources said “morning sickness” was the real cause. Then, back in August, another round of “She’s totes with child” rumors started when she was photographed looking heavier, with some kind of baby-bump/food-baby/gas thing happening in her abdomen area. A source allegedly close to Penelope “confirmed” the baby rumors… and then everything went silent again.

Penelope was set to walk the carpet at the Toronto Film Festival for weeks and weeks. Many thought that Penelope would use the TIFF carpet to officially debut her bump, and finally confirm what we’d all been fantasizing about (sex with Javier Bardem). Alas, we weren’t that lucky. Penelope walked the red carpet last night wearing a beautiful pale-aqua blue RM by Roland Mouret cocktail dress. She looked lovely. She looked glowing. She looked… thin. Like she’s lost about 15 pounds. Is it a clever dress? Is she hiding a bump behind the draping? Or was she never pregnant, and she had just gained a little weight, which she has now lost? Well, we have a lot of questions for Penelope, but she’s not interested in answering any of them:

For several weeks, tabloids and the blogosphere have been abuzz with speculation that Penélope Cruz is pregnant with boyfriend Javier Bardem’s baby, sparked by photos of the Spanish beauty sporting what some have described as a baby bump.

And the Oscar-winning actress is not happy about it.

On the red carpet of Thursday night’s Toronto International Film Festival premiere of Cruz’s new film, Broken Embraces, she let her annoyance show. A witness tells PEOPLE that when a TV crew brought up the topic, a clearly irked Cruz, 35, snapped, “That’s your question?!” – and promptly stomped away.

Cruz’s irritation may stem from the fact that she indeed is not pregnant. A likely indicator? She was spotted smoking Parliament cigarettes on Wednesday at the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood with BFF Salma Hayek and a couple of other female friends. Her rep, meanwhile, remains mum on the topic.

[From People]

Interesting… so, if she wasn’t pregnant and she just lost some weight, she would just simply say “no” when asked “Are you knocked up?” That makes me think that she is pregnant. But the smoking thing is weird. The smoking makes me think that she isn’t pregnant. I’m so confused! I need some perspective… if you were with Javier Bardem, wouldn’t you be pregnant by now? How could you stop yourself?

UPDATE: USA Today (via Us Weekly) has Penelope’s pregnancy denial now. Penelope says, “I start getting some presents from friends saying, ‘Congratulations, you’re pregnant.’ And I say, ‘No, I’m not, so return the presents. It’s amazing.” I guess someone can have sex with Javier Bardem and successfully fight the urge to have his hot Spanish love child. Who knew?

Leonardo DiCaprio will pull a Christian Bale & lose 30 lbs for ‘Inception’

59595ew_dicaprio_b-gr_02

It feels like body image day here on Celebitchy, what with that size-12 Glamour model story, and yesterday’s Helena Bonham-Carter swimsuit story. Some of us (me) can get a little sensitive when people with utterly normal, healthy bodies get criticized, but I hope you will forgive my snark on this one. Leonardo DiCaprio is going on a diet! Thank God. Now, I know, it’s a double standard. Leonardo has never been fat. And for many years there, he actually gave off a whiff of manorexia. But for a while now, Leo’s been having fun with the carbs, and the carbs have been throwing a little party on Leo’s gut and chin(s). But no more! Leo is going on a diet – and it’s all for his new film, Inception:

Leonardo DiCaprio gets tangled up in a fight scene for his new film Inception, currently being shot in Morocco. And Radaronline.com has learned you can expect to see a lot less of Leo.

The heartthrob actor has embarked on a major crash diet in the hopes of losing weight before the end of the year – and he’s not enjoying it one bit.

“Leo needs to shed at least 30lbs,” says a set source on Inception, the hotly anticipated action flick written by Batman director Christopher Nolan.

“He’s gained weight recently and looks almost a bit flabby, which isn’t good, especially as the camera adds pounds. There’s an action scene coming up at the end of the year in which he needs to appear emaciated, so the pressure is on.”

“Leo isn’t the kind of guy who can just lose a radical amount of weight though – he gets very nervous about it. He’s following a strict diet and is embarking on a rigorous workout regime.”

He hopes to lose the weight through the old fashioned way of cutting back on calories and upping his exercise. Leo’s a pretty determined kind of guy, when he sets his mind to things he always achieves them. Though this is going to be hard for him, you can guarantee he’ll succeed.”

[From Radar]

Judging Leo from his last vacation pictures – when he was hanging out shirtless in Ibiza - Leo could lose about 10 to 15 pounds and he would look great, and really toned. Thirty pounds seems to be pushing it. Thirty pounds would make him look unhealthy, I think. But maybe that’s the point – he doesn’t need to be toned for the film, he needs to be “emaciated”. Let’s hope he doesn’t start looking like a crackhead (see: Christian Bale).

Does Leo really need to look emaciated though? I don’t know anything about this film Inception. Let me look it up… hot damn, this movie has a great cast! Leo, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Michael Caine, Ken Watanabe, Cillian Murphy… and of my new favorite British actors, Tom Hardy! I love that kid. He’s so sexy. As far as the plot of Inception, all I can find out is “A CEO-type becomes involved in a blackmailing scandal.” Hm… that could go either way. I hope it’s good.

Here’s Leonardo DiCaprio and Ellen Page filming scenes for “Inception” in Paris last Wednesday. Images thanks to BauerGriffinOnline.

Mark Wahlberg is worried costar Christian Bale has an eating disorder

fp_3336499_bale_wahlberg_ex
Over the past two months, we’ve seen a lot of pictures coming out from the set of The Fighter, the true story of boxer-turned-trainer-turned-crackhead Dicky Eklund. Christian Bale plays Eklund, and Mark Wahlberg costars as “Irish” Micky Ward, Eklund’s half-brother. Apparently, Bale and Wahlberg have become quite close on the set – close enough that Mark is really, really worried about Christian Bale’s weight loss. The photos coming out of the set are not flattering for Bale – he is playing a crackhead, after all. Bale is rather famous for his extreme “method” acting, and his habit of taking on extremes when preparing a character. His habit seems to be to take a role where he has to loose an extreme amount of weight, then he takes on a role where he has to really buff up. Mark Wahlberg is trying to convince Bale that he can’t keep doing this to his body:

“You gotta eat man. You’re messing with your health!” Mark Wahlberg made that desperate plea to co-star Christian Bale when Bale continued to starve himself after dropping more than 40 pounds for their film “The Fighter” sources say.

“Christian is a method actor,” a Hollywood insider told the Enquirer. “If a role calls for him to look like a drug dealer, or he has to play someone who hasn’t slept in a year, he’ll go without food to look the part.”

“But the danger comes after he takes off that weight, and then eats everything in sight to put it back on for the next role. That kind of yo-yo dieting can be deadly. Mark and Christian are friends, and Mark is concerned about him.”

[Christian] looks scarily skeletal for his role as a boxer-turned-trainer who’s nearly KO’s by drugs and crime in “The Fighter”.

“It’s crazy. Christian has been living on fruit and water. He’s emaciated,” the source said. “Besides eating practically nothing, he exercises a lot to keep the weight off.

Wahlberg – a health fanatic who worked himself into great shape to play a champion boxer in “The Fighter” – has begged Bale to stop dieting, said the source.

“Mark feels Christian is taking the whole ‘in character’ thing too far. He’s afraid Christian is getting Karen Carpenter-thin, and he’s worried about his heart,” the source divulged.

“He wants Christian to realize that acting is a job, and it’s not worth risking your health.”

[From the National Enquirer, print edition, August 31 2009]

I totally agree with Mark “Say Hello To Your Mutha” Wahlberg, if this report is true. I’m kind of beyond expressing my appreciation for Bale’s extreme physical transformations. If it was just once, for a role that was incredible and groundbreaking, and a story that needed to be told, perhaps I would appreciate it more. But Bale seems to consistently choose parts that allow him to engage in a eating disorder while calling it “art”. It’s not healthy, physically or psychologically. And Bale is doing real, permanent damage to his body – I don’t buy that Bale keeps loosing this weight with the help and approval of nutritionists and doctors. I think he’s doing it without any advice at all. I hope film producers are taking note, and reconsidering Bale for certain roles that they know will only feed his eating disorder.

Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg are shown on set in Boston on 7/27, 7/28 and 7/29/09. Credit: Fame Pictures

Sherri Shepherd’s 41lb weight loss on the cover of OK! Size 16 to 6

ok_sherrishepherd
The View co-host Sherri Shepherd came out in a bathing suit on her show two weeks ago to premiere her new slimmed-down body. Sherri worked with a nutritionist, trainer, and endocrinologist for three months on a diet and exercise program. A long term diabetes sufferer, Sherri was able to stabilize her blood sugar naturally through the program and go off all medication for her condition. At that time, Sherri wouldn’t specify how much weight she’d lost and simply said that she felt comfortable with her body and had dropped 10 inches overall, 5 from her waist. She was featured in an inside article in People Magazine titled “I like the size I am!” and has dropped down to a size 6 from a high of size 16.

Now we know that Sherri has lost 41 pounds, because she’s featured on the cover of this week’s OK! Magazine rocking a new baby blue bathing suit. Titled “How I lost 41 pounds without surgery,” the magazine says that Sherri uses the diet favored by Jennifer Aniston, Janet Jackson and Sandra Bullock. An article on OK!’s website reveals that it’s a food delivery service called Fresh Diet. I bet they offer to send it free to most celebrities in order to get the coverage:

Sherri Shepherd’s transformation almost didn’t happen: After losing a whopping 30 pounds since her 2007 debut on The View, she began to see the weight creep back on. Rather than surrender, she made a public vow in May to get herself swimsuit-ready.

“This is my marathon,” Sherri, 42, says — and it looks as if she’s winning the race. The talk show co-host and star of Lifetime’s upcoming sitcom, Sherri, has lost 41 pounds in total, dropped 10 dress sizes and cut 10 inches off her 5′1″ frame. And in a new, exclusive interview and photo shoot with OK!, Sherri reveals what inspired her to go public with her pledge — and exactly how she did it.

“I lost weight last year and started gaining it back because I wasn’t exercising,” Sherri explains in the new issue of OK!. “I said to my producer, ‘Why don’t we do something where I tell people ‘Let’s do it together!’ and maybe [up the ante with] a bathing suit.’ The minute I said that, I was like, ‘Gosh, I should take it back because I really want M&M’s!’ But I had to do it. Then all of sudden I had all these people doing it with me. I’d Tweet about going to the gym and how hard it was, and followers would write and say, ‘Sherri, I’ve lost two pounds!’ I thought, ‘Okay, people are getting into this.’”

To help get her into swimsuit shape, Sherri enlisted the help of trainer Don Scott — who she refers to in her Tweets as the “Evil One” — and he spared certainly didn’t give her any slack because of her celebrity. “What I hate is when trainers say, ‘Okay, lets do 15,’ and then you get to 15, and they go ‘10 more,’ She recalls about her time in the gym. “It has taken every mental thing I have to get to 15, so don’t put another 10 on me!”

Now Sherri’s focus is on maintaining her weight, without the trainer. “It’s just mandatory that I find something I like that I can really keep up,” she explains. “I just started this trapeze class that strengthens the arms, and tennis I love. I’m taking salsa lessons.”

In addition to her time in the gym, Sherri — who openly admits that she’s “not a cooker” — slimmed down with the help of delivered meals from Fresh Diet, including Turkey & Green Salsa Quesadillas, Pan-Seared Sea Scallops with Ginger Jerk Sauce, Salad Niçoise and Cinnamon Pear Cheesecake. “It’s freshly cooked and they delivered it in the mornings so I would just eat that,” Sherri explains.

But even with all this great food, there were still times when desire’s seductive head would pop up. “Sometimes I just said, ‘I don’t want tilapia anymore; I can’t even deal with salad. I want M&M’s and Ruffles,’” she confesses. “But the difference was I was gonna get back up and go to the gym and keep my commitment. I never once felt like I deprived myself.”

[From OK! Magazine]

Sherri saying that she didn’t deprive herself doesn’t exactly jibe with what she told US Magazine in July – that she was miserable while she was dieting. Now that she’s seen the great results, maybe Sherri has started enjoying eating well and exercising. These weight loss covers must sell well for OK! – they featured Britney’s bikini body last week with details of “How she lost 20 lbs in 4 weeks.” I’m not as fond of OK! now that they’ve changed format and switched their whole website around, but I have to hand it to them – they don’t seem to have Photoshopped Sherri on this cover and are presenting her as she is. Maybe they did a few touchups here and there, but it’s not like they changed her whole body shape and facial structure, like Self did to Kelly Clarkson this month. Sherri looks like herself, and she should be proud. Good for her for landing a magazine cover!

Sherri Shepherd premieres her bathing suit body on The View

Sherri comes out at 3:20

Sherri Shepherd, one of the hostesses on The View, has lost weight through a three month regimen of diet and exercise, chronicled on the show. Shepherd, who suffers from diabetes, dropped 10 inches on the program but what’s better is that she was able to stabilize her blood sugar naturally and go off all medication for her condition. Last week she underwent her first bikini wax, a painful experience which she taped for the show and called “worse than having a baby.” Yesterday Sherri premiered her bathing suit body and she looked great. Sherri says her goal was to show people that “you don’t have to do anything crazy” to get to a size where you feel comfortable in a bathing suit.

Hot topic: Sherri Shepherd’s slim new body!

After months of dieting and exercising, she fulfilled her promise to walk out on stage in a bathing suit on Thursday’s The View.

Walking on stage to “I’m Every Woman,” Shepherd, 42, proclaimed, “I feel really great. I just wanted to show people that you don’t have to do anything crazy. You just have to make some choices and exercise and the weight will drop off. I hope some folks were inspired.”

Since May, she has lost 5 inches from her waist and 10 inches overall. (She didn’t reveal how many pounds she shed.)

Barbara Walters said her colleagues “were very proud” of Shepherd, who celebrated by indulging in ribs and M&Ms that exec producer Bill Geddes brought her as a treat.

Dieting hadn’t been easy, Shepherd told Usmagazine.com in June.

She had been eating “a lot of grilled chicken, a lot of salad, a lot of water,” she said. “I’m miserable!”

In terms of exercise, she told Us, “I do a lot of stairs, a lot of planks, a lot of squats, a lot of treadmill, a lot of screaming — and I do it four times a week.”

Though the work-outs were intense, she told Us, “I have a lot of energy.”

Sherri is also featured in People Magazine this week in an article titled “I like the size I am!” Sherri looks incredible and she probably feels so much better about herself. I don’t watch this show, but I heard her say during her bikini wax segment that she was married for 12 years and either got divorced, or was going through a divorce. (Wikipedia has her marriage ending in 2007.) It’s got to be a great boost to her self esteem to lose weight. Checking out pictures of Sherri, she did have a date to the BET Awards in late June so I bet there’s already a special man in her life. Good for her!
