Is Courtney Love’s weight loss from taking human growth hormone?

Courtney Love leaves her hotel
For the past few months, we’ve been seeing pictures a frightening-looking Courtney Love. Honestly, Courtney’s appearance usually frightens me, but in June and July, she seems to have lost quite a bit of weight, and has been looking particularly gaunt, pale and cracked-out. Courtney blamed her weight loss on stress, telling the Daily Mail, “I know I’ve got too skinny… I know I need to sort it out. I am going to put on 15lbs in one month… I do not have body dysmorphia. Seriously, I want to get fatter.” Photos taken this weekend of Courtney show her gaining some weight back, but she still looks pretty strung out. Meanwhile, the Daily Mail has a theory for Courtney’s weight loss – and it’s not the drug usage we were all thinking of. Their source claims that Courtney’s been taking the human growth hormone “in a bid to halt the ageing process”:

Courtney Love is taking her fascination with her looks to a new level.

Insiders say the 45-year-old singer is taking Genotropin, a human growth hormone, in a bid to halt the ageing process.

The hormone may also be responsible for her recent shock weight loss.

‘Courtney has been struggling with her weight,’ said a source.

‘She’s been using the hormones to help her gain muscle and for anti-ageing and likes the results. But she’s not very discreet. She even left a vial of it in her LA hotel room.’

A spokesman for Courtney said he was not aware that she was taking the hormone.

[From Daily Mail]

It seemed weird to me that the human growth hormone would cause such rapid weight loss, but it seems that “decreased body fat” is one of the side effects, along with “increased muscle mass, increased bone density, increased energy levels, improved skin tone and texture, increased sexual function and improved immune system function.” Uh… yeah. Judging from these recent photos of Courtney, I’m going to make an educated guess and say it’s more likely a crack-based diet, not human growth hormone.

Scarlett Johannson on how she shaped up for Iron Man – no carbs

la shorts fest 2 240709

Scarlett Johansson worked her ass off – literally, depending on your opinion – for her role as the Black Widow in “Iron Man 2.” I’ve complained in a few articles that she lost all of her beautiful curves, which to me are a big part of what sets her apart from most other actresses. But Scarlett quickly pointed out to the media that she lost weight and toned up for her role, not due to chronic Hollywood pressure. According to Jon Favreau, the film’s director, Scarlett did it with a low carb diet.

Even enviable-looking Scarlett Johansson couldn’t disguise her fear at having to don a skintight catsuit for her Iron Man 2 role as the Russian spy Black Widow.

“I kicked some major butt,” the actress, 24, told PEOPLE at Comic-Con of her training regimen to make her a shapely superhero ready for acrobatic battle scenes. “It was many, many, hours, days, and months of stunt training and strength training, but it’s fun because I had a goal. The goal was the Lycra catsuit.”

Was she happy with the results? “Finally I was, yes,” she said with a laugh. “You put that much work into something and you put it on and you better be happy with it.”

When it came to putting on the catsuit, “It was crazy to see it for the first time – everything all zipped up and all the weapons in there, bracelets on, the whole look. It was pretty sweet, I have to say,” she says.

As for the impression it made, “Certainly walking on set, because a lot of the people that worked on the film were fans of the comic and of course they knew the Black Widow – they were all super excited to see the Black Widow,” she says. “When everybody in the crew were like, ‘That looks awesome!’ I knew. Like, ‘Okay.’ ”

“She was wearing an unforgiving costume,” concurred Johansson’s Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau, who was impressed by his star’s physical commitment to the role. “She didn’t eat much, that’s for sure. She likes food, as do I, and she was definitely on a low-carb diet and training very hard. It was amazing.”

After viewing Johansson’s stunt work, Favreau says, “I think people are going to be very impressed when they see her. It’s totally different than anything you’ve seen her do before.”

[From People]

Before people go off on Scarlett about a low carb diet, keep in mind Jon didn’t say she was doing the Atkins diet. They’re not the same thing. There are all sorts of low carb and modified carb diets that are not bacon and butter based. I’m a big fan. Well, not a big fan of doing them, but I’m a big fan of the results. I can’t deny the Scarlett looks great; I just loved how she looked before. I can’t think of many actresses who could rock curves the way she could. I can’t help but hope she relaxes a bit and goes back to her natural shape. She’s gorgeous either way, but I’m a fan of the more realistic look.

Here’s Scarlett at the LA Shorts Fest opening night on July 23rd. Images thanks to WENN.com .

Marissa Jaret Winokur on how she ate the candy she put out for her son’s party

wenn2401208
Marissa Jaret Winokur is a former Tony-award winning Broadway star and was a contestant on Dancing With The Stars last year. Now she’s hosting a reality dance contest and weight loss competition on Oxygen called “Dance Your Ass Off.” Marissa has been blogging her “weight loss journey” on People.com, and says her goal is pose in a bikini for People Magazine, but lately she’s been admitting her slip ups. Two weeks ago she confessed to raiding the minibar at her hotel, and now she admits that she put out bowls of candy for her son’s first birthday party about a week too soon – and then managed to eat a bunch of it.

I sit here Monday morning with my PEOPLE.com blog overdue. It was a bad week here, and I kept thinking about how I could spin it! This week was spent planning for Zev’s first birthday – it started off bad and then it turned into a disaster! Every day I literally said, “Okay, tomorrow I will get back on track.” But tomorrow never came!

I did the whole party myself. I had a lot of people offer to help but it really meant a lot to me to do it alone. I came up with a great idea: Instead of one piñata, I bought 10 and hung them all in one tree and put a table of candy underneath it! Like a fool, I set up the candy in huge vases to see what I needed a full week ahead of the party! It was like I had my own Temptation Island in my living room!!! It was horrible and I lost the game.

Because I had both my husband’s family and my family in town, there never was time to work out. NEVER. And we would eat out almost every meal! As the week progressed, it just got worse and worse till I finally just said, “Forget it – this week is a bust!”

By the time Zev’s birthday rolled around on Saturday, I was eating the chips and dip and didn’t care! If the birthday and all the guests weren’t enough stress, my sister is out of the country because she and her husband finally got the call that their adoption went through. So, Saturday night they met their new daughter and I was emailing her all night and eating Doritos for her and hoping everything was going as planned.

On Sunday, the madness continued as everyone came back over to the house to polish off the leftovers from Zev’s first fiesta (and not a healthy fiesta, either)! So, I now sit here on Monday morning with a total sugar hangover and I feel awful!

To be totally honest, all I want to do is sleep – I actually don’t WANT to work out. I feel horrible and scared to step on the scale. Life totally took over and if it weren’t for this blog, I would be wearing my PJs and staying in bed. BUT I am so thankful I have you guys to push me out of the OMG-I-messed-up-big-time funk and I promise myself and you to fix it this week. I still don’t want to work out but I will make myself. The sickest part is the leftover candy is still in my living room!!! OMG, I NEED AN INTERVENTION, FAST … or just a big garbage bag ;)

[From People.com]

I can relate to feeling bad for cheating on your diet. Marissa probably feels an obligation to be honest to the readers, but I hate to see her beat up on herself and I don’t think she’s helping herself with this confession. No one is superhuman and many of us cannot resist it when junk food is around the house. The thing that bugs me the most about this story is that she says she still has the damn candy in her living room! Throw that sh*t out! I think that if you have some junk food in your house and know you don’t have the willpower to resist – you should toss it! There’s no reason to keep stuff around you know you shouldn’t eat and then blame yourself when you chow down. It’s only human to give in. It’s also foolish to declare the week a wash and decide to keep eating whatever you want because you slipped up – there’s always room to change and every little bit counts. I understand what she’s going through and a lot of us fall into these traps of thinking that we may as well continue to eat junk because we screwed up. There are hundreds if not thousands of calories in that junk, and you’re only making it worse by thinking that way. Give your friend the key to the minibar, give the candy away if you can’t stand to throw it out, but don’t keep that stuff around or worse think that you may as well finish it and start over next week or next month.

One year old kids do not need a ton of candy for a birthday party. Give them a cake and some small snacks and they’re fine. Kids don’t need chips and dip and lots of junk either, especially if you find it tempting. If you have stuff for a party, put it aside in a place where you won’t see it all day. She knew better, and she admits as much.

Hang in there, Marissa, and next week I want to hear that you’re feeling better about yourself and getting your family to eat healthy. Don’t focus too much on the negative thinking you’ll berate yourself into changing.

Marissa Jaret Winokur is shown with her family on 5/3/09. She’s also shown on 6/28 (multi-colored dress) and 6/29/09. Credit: WENN.com

After 150lb weight loss, Ruby Gettinger says friends have tried to sabotage her

A slimmed-down Ruby exercises on Santa Monica Pier, CA
Savannah, Georgia native Ruby Gettinger is the star of the reality show “Ruby” on the Style Network, now in its second season. Ruby has struggled with her weight all her life, and weighed as much as 715 pounds 10 years ago. She’s is now under 350 pounds, having lost 150 pounds through diet and exercise since the start of her show a year ago. A friendly, open person with a strong network of friends and family, Ruby easily wins people over with her kind personality. Not everyone is rooting for Ruby’s success, however. The 5’9″ redhead said that friends have told her she’s lost enough weight and that one even stooped low enough to send her a box of candy as a present:

Talk about frenemies. Now that reality TV star Ruby Gettinger is less than 350 pounds (from her highest weight of 716), some so-called friends have told her she doesn’t need to lose any more weight.

“I’ve had friends say, `You look good right now. You need to stop losing weight now.’ I don’t get it. It’s almost like misery loves company,” said the Savannah, Ga., native in a recent interview.

In fact, Gettinger says she’s had people send her a basket full of sweets from a candy shop, knowing she’s on a diet.

Gettinger stars in her own show on the Style Network (8 p.m. EDT Sundays) as she struggles to get healthy.

When “Ruby” – now in its second season – began filming last year she weighed 500 pounds. She’s now lost 80 inches overall and 30 inches from her waist which Gettinger jokes is a whole person.

She can walk two miles now and craves healthy foods like fish and vegetables.

Gettinger says her goal is to be healthy and not to get to a particular weight.

[From The AP via Huffington Post]

I was first introduced to Ruby last November, when I covered an interview she had with In Touch. I was moved by her struggle, and by how honest she came across. She said at the time that her goals were to do things that average-size people take for granted, like take a bubble bath, ride a bicycle, and paint her toenails. She’s since been able to experience things that were impossible for her before, like riding a bike and going camping.

Ruby is on an amazing journey and she doesn’t let detractors get in her way. She told MSN in an interview last year that she tries to surround herself with positive people and not let negativity get her down. “I don’t let negative attitudes and meanness from other people keep me from living my life… I am a girl who loves life and loves people, and I find that in this life there are more good people than bad, and that is who I choose to surround myself with. I want us all to get healthier, but also to live life to the fullest along the way.”

Ruby hosts what she calls “women’s fat night,” an informal support group that she started with her group of friends. In a clip available on her website, below, you can see that some of her friends are heavy too. Some may be envious that she’s in the spotlight and is changing her life with help from a team of experts. They have a lot of fun together, though, and from the clips I’ve seen of her show it’s hard to tell that there’s any animosity there. It’s sad that this happens between friends, and I’ve had my feelings hurt in similar situations. Sometimes people just can’t accept it when you’re different from what they’ve come to expect.

You can learn more about Ruby and see segments from her show on her website. “Ruby” airs on the Style Network on Sundays at 8pm.

Khloe Kardashian drops 20 lbs in 28 days; gets on the cover of Life & Style

khloe-kardashian-weight-loss

Khloe Kardashian, formerly known as “the fat, funny one” according to her, won’t be hearing that comment anytime soon – at least about the fat. Khloe’s shed a whopping 20 pounds in four weeks, and claims to have done it in a healthy way. All the magazines are singing her praises, though I can’t help but wonder how one can safely lose that much weight.

As a bathing-suit-clad Khloe Kardashian stood by the pool at NYC’s Hotel Gansevoort on July 9 at her exclusive photo shoot with Life & Style, she appeared to be a woman without any body insecurity. But things were very different for her growing up. “I used to get teased all the time as a kid,” the reality-TV star tells Life & Style. “People [even in more recent years] would come up to me and be like, ‘Oh, you’re the fat, funny one.’ I would wonder, is that who I am?”

Khloe’s still funny, but no one can call her fat anymore. By working out about 45 minutes a day, five days a week, and maintaining a balanced, practical diet, she shed 20 pounds from her 5-foot-9 frame over four weeks. “I’m now a size 6, but I’ve been up to a size 10 in the past,” says the 25-year-old, who stars with her closeknit clan on E!’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians and co-owns the upscale boutique Dash with her sisters.

Khloe says she started emotionally eating when her parents, Robert and Kris Kardashian, were going through a divorce. “You just don’t understand stress like that when you’re younger,” she says. And her roller-coaster eating habits meant she also took dieting to a dangerously extreme level. “I was anorexic when I was 15 — I’d be obsessed with working out, and I’d never eat,” says Khloe. “That was the worst I’ve ever been. I’ve been very underweight and then overweight by about 30 pounds.”

After packing on the pounds again after her dad’s death in 2003, she expressed interest in working out, and Kim gave her that extra push. “We just started doing it together,” says Khloe, who adds that she and Kim, 28, both have a sweet tooth and keep each other’s snacking habits in check. “Just having someone’s encouragement makes it so much easier.” Kim’s happy to help. “I’m so proud of Khloe,” she tells Life & Style. “She looks amazing.”

[From In Touch Weekly]

Though In Touch doesn’t mention it, Khloe tells Us Weekly that part of her routine is letting herself eat whatever she wants until noon, then paying attention to what she eats. She also says that she and sister Kim are launching a diet “product” called Quick Trim. I assumed diet pill and was wondering exactly how either of them created one. If it is a pill they’re obviously just endorsing it. But since all she said was “product,” it could be a diet plan or a contraption of some sort. It’s probably just the eating and exercise plan Khloe followed to drop so much weight so quickly.

I’ve definitely teased her in the past, but honestly I’ve always felt badly for Khloe. First off she wasn’t that heavy, she just looked huge next to her tiny sisters. And it wasn’t the weight so much as the fact that she has a much larger frame than both of them. I can hardly remember a photo of Khloe where she wasn’t described as “hulking.” While I still think 20 lbs in 28 days is extreme, I will admit that Khloe looks very nice. Not too thin and still curvy where she should be. I’m going to hold my tongue on this Quick Trim business until she and Kim release it.

Update: According to Backseatcuddler, Quick Trim is a cleanse that the Kardashians are launching with GNC. It sounds like it might be similar to the Master Cleanse – there was a mention of lemonade and pepper.

Thanks to PopCrunch for the lead!

Courtney Love vows to gain 15 pounds in a month

90630m8_love_b-gr_03

Courtney Love has actually done something I like. For the first time in… well probably ever. Last week she shocked people just by stepping out of a cab and displaying her bare arm, exposing lots of tendon in the process. It was horrifying and worrisome and a little gruesome. Worrisome being the biggest one – to say Courtney looked emaciated is a huge understatement. Instead of pulling a Lohan and denying that anything’s wrong (which doesn’t make people think you’re healthy, just delusional) Courtney says she’s gotten much thinner than she realized and has firmly resolved to do something about it: gain 15 pounds in a month.

Courtney Love has promised to put on weight after she was pictured looking frighteningly thin and gaunt in New York last week. The former Hole lead singer, who covered up her skeletal frame in a black and white coat during an outing in the city yesterday, says she has been ordered to start eating by her doctor who diagnosed her with malnutrition.

‘I know I’ve got too skinny,’ she says in a new interview. ‘I know I need to sort it out. I am going to put on 15lbs in one month… I do not have body dysmorphia. Seriously, I want to get fatter. You know, when I was 192lbs [13st 5lbs], I thought I looked hot!… [My doctor] gave me a massive shot of vitamins and told me to start eating,’ she revealed in the current issue of Grazia.

The 44-year-old yo-yo dieter is more than two stone below the recommend healthy weight for her height. Even she was taken aback by the scales after she stepped on to weigh herself during an interview with the magazine.

‘S***, I though I was like 130lbs [9st 2lbs], but I’m 118lbs [8st 4lbs] and I’m 5ft 10ins, that’s not good for someone my height,’ she told the reporter. She continued: ‘I need to start working out again. It’s the stress – you have no idea what it has been like these last few months. I need to get to the bottom of this fraud, I need answers.’

[From the Daily Mail]

So Courtney’s going with the stress excuse, which is plausible. Some people stress eat, others can’t even think about food when they’re worried. I tend to eat when I’m happy… which would lead you to conclude that I’m a very joyful person. Even though I don’t have Courtney’s bone-jutting problem, stress is about the only thing that causes me to lose my appetite. Love has been dealing with the supposed looting of Kurt Cobain’s estate for a long time now – it’s very possible it’s taken a toll on her health. Of course with her history of drug abuse, that’s also a big concern as well.

I’m not sure that gaining 15 pounds in a month is a great idea – more yoyo-ing doesn’t really seem like a good long-term answer to me. Perhaps working not just on dealing with her money issues but also learning productive ways to handle stress is the way to go. Or more doughnuts I guess. There are worse things in life than having to eat extra doughnuts.

Here’s Courtney looking rather frail as she walks through Gramercy Park in New York City yesterday. Images thanks to BauerGriffinOnline.

Kirstie Alley wants to get Oprah and John Travolta to lose weight with her

kirstieoprahheader
Kirstie Alley is said to be planning to enlist some friends to join her in her quest to lose weight, including fellow Scientologist John Travolta and talkshow queen Oprah Winfrey. This story originates in Star Magazine, so it’s just as likely to be made up. It has an element of truth to it, though, and it’s a good idea to ask friends to provide support when you’re trying to lose weight:

After gaining back all the pounds she shed when she acted as the face of Jenny Craig, The Fat Actress star, 58, has decided to find her own formula for success, and she wants Oprah Winfrey, John Travolta and Janet Jackson to join her…

Now she believes that if she enlists dedicated partners like her good friend Oprah, “they could all get skinny and stay that way by motivating each other,” says the pal.

[From Star Magazine, print edition, June 22, 2009]

I follow Kirstie on Twitter, and she really loves to engage with her fans and tweets frequently. She’s kind of wacky but fun if you can tolerate her, and set up a contest yesterday through which she offered the winner $200 for the best answer to the question “What would you do to a paparazzi if you caught them filming your children coming out of school?” (I retyped this because Kirstie had it all in in caps of course.) She gave the money to a user who answered “Make him have sex with Perez Hilton.”

Kirstie has been tweeting about her “hot” trainer and his hard workouts and she also lets people know that she’s lining up business meetings. She also says that she always tries to have “three sources of income.” I wonder what she has in the works.

If this story about getting her friends to join her to lose weight is true, and that’s a big if, I wonder if she’s trying to lend more celebrity power to whatever diet and exercise program she’s trying to develop. If she can claim that it helped the allmighty Oprah along with John Travolta and/or Janet Jackson, she’ll get much more press for whatever she’s planning. If Kirstie is successful, I bet we’ll see a book out from her in the next 6-9 months.

Melissa Joan Hart in a bikini on the cover of People

peoplemelissajoanhart
You don’t really hear much about former teen star Melissa Joan Hart of “Sabrina The Teenage Witch.” She had a couple of sons with musician Mark Wilkerson and did some made for TV movies like “My Fake Fiance,: an ABC family special about a woman hiring a guy (Joey Lawrence) to pretend to be her fiance. (I never saw it, but I’m sure they end up falling in love in the end.)

Hart shows up occasionally at events and in paparazzi photos but she’s not in high demand. That’s why it seems odd to see her in a bikini on the cover of People. People has been focusing on weight loss and gain on their cover lately, and these type of issue seem to sell well for them. The 33 year-old mother of two lost 42 pounds and that’s no small feat. Her body looks great and she kind of radiates that “friendly mom” vibe. I know this is awful to say, but I can’t help but snark about her hair! She’s on the cover of People – what is going on with that half-crimped flyaway style? Those short side bangs are awful. Anyway, our friends at CoverAwards said they didn’t even recognize Hart at first:

People Magazine has a few things going in its favor this week.

First, it’s People Magazine. You’d be surprised how many people simply buy this magazine because its logo is plastered on the top of the issue. (How long that lasts? That’s a good question.)

The next big win for People is that it convinced yet another star to pose in a bikini after losing weight.

Plus, a diet cover is always a stable seller on the newsstand – and People lucks out this week as it is the ONLY diet cover in the category.

So what’s wrong with this cover?

At first glance, I had no idea who this was on the cover – and that’s BAD!

Melissa Joan Hart is by no means an A-Lister and I really hadn’t heard too much about her weight gain before seeing this cover.

Bottom Line: Melissa Joan Hart is no Valerie Bertinelli

[From Cover Awards]

Cover Awards also posted this past People cover of Valerie Bertinelli. Bertinelli is posed sexier and also offers the angle of losing weight post-40. Still, Hart can be commended for her accomplishment while she’s running around after two boys. A lot of us can relate to weight gain with kids and this cover seems to offer hope for the rest of us moms still struggling with the pounds. People’s stylist should be ashamed, though. Her hair is a mess. (I can be a hair snob so I asked MSat about it – she also thinks Hart’s hair needs work.)

Lindsay Lohan bikini paparazzi seduction continues

30492PCN_Lilo

Lindsay Lohan is continuing her “look at how unhealthy I am” attention-seeking Hawaiian PR tour. Yesterday she managed to somehow still shock us with her emaciated frame. Since that was so successful, she went for round two today, in what I swear is bikini that makes her look even smaller. At first I thought she might actually be a little self-conscious because she had a tank top on over her suit. But that was quickly discarded as she wandered around… presumably looking for cameras.

Wearing a black and white bikini bra and black bottoms, Lindsay looked super slim as she chatted to friends and swam in the lava rock pools.

In between swimming and enjoying the sun, Lindsay repeatedly checked her Blackberry for messages and made friends with a local dog.

She also caught up on some reading with a telling book entitled The Little Teal Book Of Trust by Jeffrey Gitomer, which teaches the reader how to trust people and be trustworthy.

Friends of the actress say her recent weight loss is a cry for attention following her split from Samantha on April 4.

A pal told America’s People magazine: ‘She is a self-destructive person. It’s all part of her cry for attention.’

[From the Daily Mail]

Lindsay’s also pictured hanging out with an older gentleman and posing for pictures. It all strikes me as odd. Yeah, everyone kept telling her to get away, but they didn’t mean for a paparazzi showoff vacation. I think it’s pretty clear that friend is right: she’s doing this for attention. And obviously we’re giving it to her.

But it seems like the attention she most wants is Samantha’s. And from everything that’s been reported, the reason Sam broke up with Lindsay was become of her extreme attention-seeking behavior. Given that, I’d think the best way to get Ronson to care about her again would be to get her act together: emotionally and career-wise. Start eating properly and start seeing a therapist. Bare minimum. Become a good person; who wants someone that’s only with you out of pity or obligation?

And if nothing else, toss the bikinis. It’s not doing any favors.

Doctors estimate Lindsay Lohan only weighs 95 lbs

lindsay lohan 210409

Lindsay Lohan really is wasting away. People started whispering about her weight 15 or 20 pounds ago, and in the last two or three weeks the actress has lost significantly more weight. Earlier this week shocking photos came out of Lohan in a long, flowing dress, in which you can count her ribs. Fox’s Pop Tarts talked to doctors who estimate that Lohan, at 5’5, should weigh between 120 – 130 lbs, but is likely clocking in at just 95. That Olsen twin territory – and Lindsay’s got four inches on them.

Lindsay Lohan’s fragile frame has been a cause of concern for quite some time now, however photographs of the actress shopping in Los Angeles this week seem to have taken the term “scary skinny” to whole new level. Donning a low-cut strapless dress, the 22-year-old flashed a little skin … and a lot of bone.

According to Dr. Kent Holtorf, Director of the Holtorf Medical Group in Los Angeles (who does not treat Lohan) the 5’5” starlet weighs around 95-100lbs with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of less than 16. But in order to be considered “healthy” she should be at least 113-149lbs with a BMI of 18-25.

“There are signs of muscle wastage, clearly her bones are protruding and she looks quite rigid,” Holtorf told Tarts. “She looks like skin and bones at this point, Lindsay clearly looks malnourished and unhealthy for her frame.” Hollywood clinical psychologist and psychotherapist, Dr. James E. Walton, agreed that Lohan is “floating at 100 pounds” and is setting a bad example to young girls who look up to the “Mean Girls” actress.

“She seems to have no reserves, a little fat is very good because it gives us a reserve to fight off illness and repair injuries,” Walton explained. ” It has to be affecting her energy level a bit. It also cushions us against injuries, those low fat levels indicate a possible vitamin and mineral deficiency and can throw off proper hormone balances. She should weigh between 120 and 130 for healthy weight at her height … Ok, for Hollywood, no lighter than 115 for her height. But that’s only for Hollywood and the camera.”

A rep for Lohan did not respond for comment.

[From Fox News’ Pop Tarts]

A while ago Kaiser mentioned that she hates it when doctors who’ve never treated a celebrity publicly diagnose them with something – and I completely agree. But in Lindsay’s case, it doesn’t seem that hard for a doctor to approximate her weight if he knows her height and can look at pictures of her. The way she has shrunk over the last few months is incredibly disturbing – but what’s more upsetting is that no one has helped her. Dina Lohan kept making ridiculous excuses about how Lindsay was stressed and she told her to eat more McDonalds. No quarter pounder is going to help LiLo’s weight at this point – unless she’s standing on a scale with a hundred of them.

Obviously this is way beyond the point of “just stress.” Lindsay might have an eating disorder; but it’s just as likely she’s got a drug problem. Probably more likely. She keeps talking about how she wants to get her career back on track but studios are afraid to work with her because of her past and all the bad rumors they’re hearing. Frankly, I’d bet their trepidation comes just as much from Lohan’s physical appearance. They know something’s wrong with her, whether it’s a lack of food or an excess of drugs. Either one, coupled with her history, is going to keep her from working.

Here’s Lindsay out shopping on Tuesday. Images thanks to Pacific Coast News,INF Photo, and WENN.com .
