Def Jam president Jay-Z, 36, lost 15 pounds thanks to a diet his girlfriend Beyonce, 24, put him on. He is said to be feasting on high protein meals and lots of vegetables and to have given up candy. Jay-Z’s weight loss has people speculating that the famous couple may be planning to get married:

Beyonce has been focussing on her figure and probably encouraged Jay-Z to lose weight as a result. We don’t think it means that they’re preparing for marriage.

Beyonce is not one to give nutritional advice. She said that she lost over 20 pounds for her Dreamgirls role by fasting and drinking spicy water for over a week, and that she gained some of the weight back by eating a lot of fried food.

The two have hit a rought patch lately, with reports that they were fighting at a playoff game, and that Beyonce is jealous of Jigga’s very friendly working relationship with sexy singer Rhianna.

Jay-Z and Beyonce are pairing up again in the studio. They are collaborating on Beyonce’s new album, to be released on her 25th birthday, September 4th. The pair had a big hit with Beyonce’s 2003’s single “Crazy in Love.”

In these new pictures of Nicole Richie on the beach in Malibu on Sunday she looks like she gained a little essential weight. She’s still vastly too skinny, but you have to give the poor waif a little credit. She must have had a sandwich in the time between December and now, because there’s a slight difference. It could be the fact that she’s cleverly hiding her sternum beneath a scarf, but her stomach looks a little more filled out, and her legs are less skinny. It looks like a 5-7 pound weight gain. She isn’t a normal weight by any measure though. Picking her apart probably won’t help her face up to her problem, but we couldn’t resisit.

According to one of Nicole’s friends, her drastic weight loss was caused by an addiction to the over the counter weight loss drug hoodia.

Nicole’s friend sounds like she’s covering up for her other addictions.

Jennifer Aniston is said to have put Vince Vaughn on a special diet to increase their chances of conceiving a baby. Given Vaughn’s admission to Oprah that he doesn’t really want to have a baby with Aniston, this doesn’t sound likely:

This sounds totally untrue to us, and we would guess that Aniston and Vaughn are on the outs. They weren’t even photographed together at the premiere of “The Break Up,” and while they’ve said positive things about each other duing promotion for the film, Vaughn is unwililng to acknowledge their relationship publically.

Vaughn looks like he could use a healthier diet, though. At the premiere of “The Break Up” yesterday he looked pale, puffy-eyed and bloated.

The NY Post is reporting that DJ AM and Nicole Richie broke up for the second time because Richie didn’t gain weight and stop partying as AM requested:

This was said to be the reason they broke up the first time, so it’s not surprising. Nicole Richie knew that she needed to gain some weight to save her relationship, and she still couldn’t do it. That reveals how much of a problem she has. She needs to check herself into a clinic. If she gained 20 pounds she would look so much better, and she needs to do it for her health.

Sky News quotes Richie’s dad as saying that she’s planning a wedding that he will be more than happy to pay for. He must not have heard the breakup news:

Nicole Richie is an obvious perfectionist about her body. She starves herself thin, and has admitted wanting to change her nose:

This may be her way of letting the press know that she’s about to undergo plastic surgery. Richie was photographed outside a plastic surgeon’s office on May 9th.

She needs to see a therapist and work out her issues. From what I learned from the handful of college-level psychology courses I attended while nursing a hangover, Richie suffers from body dysmorphic disorder:

Nicole looks like she has gained a little bit of essential weight. In these pictures of her shilling for Sprint at the E3 convention on Wednesday she looks slightly more healthy. Maybe her confession to Vanity Fair about being too thin helped her to eat a little bit.

Everyone was speculating that Star Jones wasn’t long for The View after straight-talking Rosie O’Donnell was handpicked by Barbara Walters to replace Meredith Vieira. It turns out that people were right, because Page Six is reporting that an insider has confirmed that Star will be exiting the show.

Oprah’s best friend, Gayle King, is said to be considered for Star’s soon to be vacant post. We can’t wait to see what crappy non-job Star gets next. She’ll probably be out of work for a while until she breaks down and becomes the spokesperson for a diet or fitness-related product. She’s already shilling payless shoes, and has no scruples about what she’ll endorse to get free shit or cash.

Liz Smith mentions in her column in the NY Post today that the photos that accompany Nicole Richie’s interview in Vanity Fair were retouched to make her look healthy:

Nicole Richie became famous as soon as she started showing up for tons of events, and that just happened to coincide with her weight loss, probably because she had higher self esteem. While the ideal for slenderness in Hollywood is out of bounds and harmful to young women, I don’t think that Richie’s stardom can be attributed to her stick thin appearance. It is obviously unhealthy and not a good role model for anyone of course.

You can see the retouching in the photos below. In a picture of RIchie wearing underwear and kissing herself in the mirror, her butt looks a little too round to be real. Her face also looks less deathly.

The red string bracelet that Richie wears on her right wrist may not be a sign of anorexic pride that it can also stand for. (Some images are shown flipped, and the bracelet is really on her right hand.) It is from Kitson and is adorned with a gold hamsa, a protective jewish symbol. It’s just, uh, a coincidence that anorexics also wear red string bracelets on their right wrists while Kabbalah followers wear them on their left wrists.

Richie admits in her Vanity Fair interview that she’s too thin and that she’s getting help from a doctor and a nutritionist.

About two weeks ago, Richie said she realized she was thin, but was nonchalant about it.

Richie wears a red string bracelet on her right hand, a symbol of anorexic pride. It seems like she’s perfectly aware that she doesn’t eat but is in denial about how severe it is and won’t admit it outright to the press. At least she’s trying to get help, but it’s going to take a lot of hard work and therapy.

In related news, there is a picture of supposed coke residue after Nicole Richie left a bathroom stall, but the evidence is unconvincing and seems fabricated.

Here she is in La Quinta, CA at a Coachella Party. We realize that Taryn Manning is holding a little pipe in one of the pictures since everyone has pointed this out. They’ve also noticed that Nicole seems to have lost some her hair. Hair loss is a sign of anorexia.

Nicole Richie recently redesigned her engagement ring from AM from their first go-around, preserving the stone to use in a new setting. The couple is said to be making it official this July:

That sounds romantic, although we have to disagree that Nicole has put on weight. The couple broke up in December, 2005, and reconciled about two months ago.

Richie must be feeling particularly tender toward AM. He is recovering from “follow-up” work for his 2003 gastric bypass surgery, widely rumored to be plastic surgery to remove excess skin.
