Tom Cruise opens up about his painful childhood in an upcoming interview with Parade magazine. He could not rely on his father, who was unpredictable and abusive:

Tom said that he felt like an outcast as a child and had “no really close friend.” His battle with dyslexia served to further isolate him and was “an absolute affront to my dignity.”

We feel sorry for Tom, and have some insight into his character. It’s still not a good enough excuse for him to serve as a spokesperson for the cult of Scientology.

Liz Smith points out that it doesn’t matter if Tom gets bad press - as long as he continues to get press. Tom made a fool of himself while promoting War of the Worlds on Oprah and The Today Show. War of the Worlds was a big hit though, and Smith predicts MI3 will be, too.

Tom seems to realize this, and has even pledged to go back on the Today Show with Matt Lauer!

Smith also provides insight as to why Cruise would be sharing stories of his dysfunctional childhood at this point in his career:

Bill Cosby’s legal team has sent a cease and desist order to popular blogger Andy Baio of Waxy.org for posting the “House of Cosbys” video files. “House of Cosbys” is a cartoon that depicts multiple cloned Cosbys living in a house together, similar to the plot of the Micheal Keaton film, Mulitplicity. Baio is standing his ground, and says that “House of Cosbys” is a parody which falls under fair use guidelines. He points to many other parodies of Cosby, and says that he refuses to be legally bullied:

Bill Cosby seems like even more of an asshole when you consider that he recently pointed out to Katrina victims that there were high crime rates in New Orleans before the natural disaster:

This is typical of Cosby, who has lashed out in the past at what he perceives as a violent black popular culture and an unwillingness to change. Cosby has seemed to blame the African American community for their plight and maintains a dismal perspective instead of looking at more broad sociocultural factors and seeing the positive aspects of black culture.

“Ex” drug addicts Lindsay Lohan, Kate Moss, and Courtney Love are going to Hawaii together to give the world’s paparrazi some well-deserved time in the sun.

Somehow Moss and Love consider themselves older mentors to Lindsay, who has no public drug scandal or stint in rehab yet:

The trio may be celebrating Moss’ recent triumph over the drug scandal she suffered when a video was released last year of her snorting cocaine. All criminal charges against Moss are expected to be dropped and she should have no criminal record. Moss wisely did not admit to any wrongdoing when questioned by police.

Moss recently received a £1million advance from Virgin Books to write a tell-all autobiography of her cocaine abuse.

Sean Connery arrived in a tartan-wrapped Mercedes Benz 2007 S Class to “Dress to Kilt” at NY’s annual tartan week yesterday. It was Connery’s first public appearance since he had a benign kidney tumor removed in early March.

“Dress to Kilt” celebrated Scottish fashion with tartan clothing and kilts modeled by celebrities. Stars on the catwalk included Bebe Neuwirth, Anne Curry, Tatum O’Neal, and Brian and Allan Cox. The Coxes lifted up their kilts to show their white bums in a picture after the jump that’s NSFW. Scottish rugby player, Chris Cusiter, Scottish golf star, Sam Torrance, and the reigning miss Scotland, Aisling Friel, also modeled at the show.

Donald Trump was at the event in a bid to publicize his golf course that will soon be opened at Balmedie in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Sir Sean Connery was accompanied by his wife of over 30 years, Lady Micheline Connery.
