Below is video of Mariah Carey performing in Singapore over the weekend. In the middle of the song, Mariah seems to get caught up in her heels and she dramatically falls over. Only not really – it’s like Mariah knew that she was going to fall, so she did it in slow motion, gently rocking over onto her cushiony body. The best part of the video is her backup dancer/singer guy who pretty much sees the drama unfold before his eyes and immediately tries to lift up Mariah’s now dead weight as she just gives in to gravity. The dude totally assumes the position to carry her off, which… I mean, Mariah must demand that all the time. So he was prepared.
Mariah Carey — who has yet to publicly confirm that she is pregnant — stumbled and fell in the middle of a performance this weekend in Singapore, but laughed it off. Carey, 40, was wearing her trademark high heels when she lost her footing while singing her 1992 hit Make It Happen on Saturday. Her dancers quickly helped her up, and she jokingly told the crowd, “I did that on purpose!”
A female assistant removed Carey’s shoes as she continued to sing; she finished the 90-minute performance barefoot. Carey was in Singapore, along with Missy Elliott and Adam Lambert, to perform a series of concerts this weekend at the Padang in celebration of the Singapore Grand Prix. And interestingly, during another concert on Sunday, Carey drank from a champagne glass while on stage, although there’s no way to know if the glass contained champagne or a non-alcoholic drink.
The Grammy award winning singer later took to Twitter to thank her fans.
“TY SO much to my fans in Singapore!!! Yeah, several hectic moments, (lol!)but I tried to swirl them into festive!.Love+ God Bless! Again Singapore, thanks so much for allowing me to just be who I am &just have fun+connect w/everyone there! Thanks 4 the LOVE!x0x,” she Tweeted.

Mariah has pretty much confirmed that she’s pregnant, so I think this really could have been bad, you know? But instead the angels wept when Mariah lost her footing and everyone is okay. Note to Mariah: take off the heels and take a break! You’ve earned it, girl! No one is going to judge you for sitting at home and eating donuts while you’re knocked up. Well… Gisele would judge you, but you can just sit on her until she passes out.

Lol, THIS is how you fall onstage. It really looked like she knew she was going to fall and decidedly made it as graceful as possible. When a fall is that obvious, I think it’s less embarrassing to just find the humor in it than pretend it didn’t happen. When Beyonce took that nose dive in her show and just got up and continued her crazy head-banging dance moves, I was like, “WTF?”.
Ok, I’m impressed that she was as cool about it as she was and just mellowed out. It looked like she was tied into the shoes and couldn’t get to her feet.

Still find it hard to believe she’s supposedly 5 months pregnant, after numerous attempts and failures at becoming so, and yet is performing on stage in heels. I think she just gained weight.

It’s her own fault. She is stupid for wearing hooker heals while she is pregnant. And yeah, I feel really bad for the guys who had to drag her 235 pound @ss up off the floor.

I like it that she kept singing and thanked her assistant through the whole thing. I would have thought she would have a diva fit, but she didn’t. She had a sense of humor about it, kept singing, and went on with the show.
I think she’s just pregnant. And so what if she gained weight? She’s a singer, not a model. It’s not a crime. Do you need to call her a whale? I guess you all have perfect bodies and have never fallen or embarrassed yourselves. The nastiness of these comments is pathetic. You ladies better be stick thin. If I had to choose between being a talented multi-millionaire who’s gained a few pounds or a slender nobody who trashes other women on the internet, I think I’d choose to be the millionaire.
She fell in public, but she handled it like a pro. She still has one of the best voices in the business. Well done, actually.
I am just wondering if she’s pregnant — I don’t recall her ever announcing it. Or maybe she did and I just don’t remember. She gives off twin girls vibes.
I would prefer her in less vampy (or trashy) outfits. Either way she needs to tone it down because it does not suit her IMO.
Here’s what I think: She gained a shitload of weight and then faked her “i’m not pregnancy” to cover up for it. Then a very public “fall” onstage to back-up the soon-to-be- announced miscarriage she will have. There’s already photos of her leaving the airport with no baby bump!
BTW, her voice is just amazing and real….you can’t take that away from her.

Maybe this is a cultural thing. I am African American, and in my community we accept women of different sizes. We don’t think that larger women should have to apologize for daring to exist. We think they should carry on with their lives. We encourage being healthy, and a focus on health is growing in the black community. However, we don’t think being healthy means being skinny, and we don’t think you should have to hide in shame if you’re not a size 2. Perhaps because Mariah is part of the black community, she is refusing to be ashamed of putting on a few pounds.
On top of all of this, THIS WOMAN IS PREGNANT!! YOU ARE ALLOWED TO GAIN WEIGHT WHEN YOU ARE MAKING A LIFE IN YOUR UTERUS!!! DIFFERENT WOMEN GAIN DIFFERENT AMOUNTS OF WEIGHT DURING PREGNANCY. THE FOCUS SHOULD BE ON THE HEALTH OF THE BABY, NOT ON BEING SKINNY.
Your balance changes when you are pregnant, wearing flats is dificult let alone heels. Glad she is okay.
