Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are in Israel. Initial stories had the couple, both Kabbalah devotees, traveling to the holy city to work on their marriage following allegations that Ashton cheated on Demi. That seemed to be supported by a vague tweet Ashton made that they’re “Sharing Love & Light while in IsraeI. Asking 4 the energy 2 forge bonds with our similarities & find compromise in our differences.” It turns out that Ashton was booked to speak at a tech conference there.
At the conference, Ashton admitted that he sometimes sits right across from Demi while they both tweet and compared it sending flowers to a woman at work, saying “sometimes people like to be adored in public.” Doesn’t that sound awkward, like he’s faulting her for it? Maybe that’s just the way I interpreted it. He also admitted something strange about how he takes negative feedback and said it makes him a better person. It’s hard to tell if he’s using his Kabbalah wisdom to deal with criticism or if he’s saying there’s something to the rumors.
“A lot of times my wife and I sit across from each other and tweet, it’s a little bizarre,” Kutcher told a technology meeting in Tel Aviv held by Israel’s largest telecoms group, Bezeq.
“It’s the same reason why you send roses to a woman at work. Sometimes people like to be adored in public…”
Kutcher, who said he encounters harsh criticism on his Twitter feed, compared the real-time social web to “shining a light in a really dark room.”
“Until you shine a light really bright you may not see the garbage in your life,” he said. “Sometimes, when there is criticism it’s shining a light on you and you need to use that to eliminate the garbage in your life.”
Does that “garbage” he needed to eliminate involve famewhores named Brittney? I’m getting a very guilty vibe from him. How much longer do you think he and Demi are going to last? I honestly think they’ll hang in there for a couple more years. Ashton probably cheated, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he wants out. If Demi is willing to put up with it, they could hold on for some time.

I don’t get a guilty vibe from him. I don’t get any vibe…He certainly isn’t speaking of Britney. He spoke very sweetly of her after her passing and he isn’t a total jerk he would refer to that way so soon after her passing. I just think people need to lay off them. They are solid. They love each other and they are gonna be fine. This nothing like Courtney Cox and David.

I don’t know if I think they’ll make it a few more years….maybe months. Every picture I see of them together, Ashton always looks tortured- like a kid who’s mortified by his overbearing mother.

I hope they can work it out. For some odd reason, I kind of like them.
I think there marriage is a sham. They both needed it for publicity. He doesn’t need it anymore, she does. I’m sure her lawyers are hard at work trying to renegotiate a financial package to keep him.

Re: the glasses – maybe she’s slipped into character and found her old Jackie Templeton glasses to hide her real feelings from the masses…
“Jackie Templeton” was the character Demi played while on the soap General Hospital. The character was a reporter that wore glasses when the character was first introduced (sister of “Laura Templeton” played by Janine Turner of Northern Exposure fame).
