The National Enquirer has a new story that brings home the sad reality of divorce for the children left behind. They claim that Kelsey Grammer is skipping Thanksgiving with his children in LA in order to spend it with his 29 year-old flight attendant girlfriend and her family in NY. Kelsey is also said to be trying to fast track his divorce in order to be legally free to marry the woman he was cheating on his wife wife. Let’s see how that works out for him.
“Let’s get this divorce over with – so I can get married again!”
With those searing words, a heartless Kelsey Grammer tore into his estranged third wife Camille as the couple’s ugly $120 million divorce war took yet another nasty twist.
The Enquirer has learned exclusively that callous Kelsey canceled his Thanksgiving plans with their brokenhearted children Mason, 9, and Jude, 6, so he can spend the holiday with British fiancee Kayte Walsh and give her parents a personal tour of New York…
The former “Frasier” star had temporarily left his wife and kids in California this spring to star in the Broadway production of “La Cage aux Folles” – and soon after, a mutual friend alerted Camille to Kelsey’s cheating.
Calling from New York, the actor then confirmed her worst fears – telling her the marriage was over.
When Camille began to cry, he snapped: “Oh, grow up!”
The sitcom star publicly vowed to have an amicable divorce for the sake of the children. But then he cruelly canceled Thanksgiving and demanded that Camille speed up the proceedings.
“Kelsey’s been especially hurtful to the kids,” said the insider. “Until Kayte came into his life, he was a devoted father. Now he acts as if Mason and Jude are an inconvenience.”

I’ve only seen the first episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but Kelsey acted like he was sad to leave his wife and kids to go to New York. He probably already had something else lined up at that point. I can’t believe he broke up with his wife of 13 years and the mother of his children over the phone! That’s just so cold. Camille comes across like a self absorbed twit on the show, but you can tell she loves her kids despite the four nannies she has helping her. I also got the impression that she loved Kelsey, although she may have been just as much in love with their insane lifestyle.
Last week on the Joy Behar show, Camille called Kelsey a narcissist and admitted that she was first attracted to him in 1997 due to his celebrity status. The Enquirer reports that she wants 60% of Kelsey’s $120 million fortune. Can you blame her?

The more I see of Camille on TRHWBH, the more I hate her. She is a reprehensible creature. That said, Kelsey should have divorced first, then hooked up with this woman.
According to Camille, she is Jesus, just saving everyone around her. She sat in her multi-million dollar mansion and said she alone, devoted her life to Kelsey’s sobriety, she sat in her Hawaiian hot tub and told everyone who was in it “I have helped everyone here, haven’t I”. When talking to her mother about her mother’s battle with cancer, she turned the subject to herself and said she was tested at UCLA and had the gene for the cancer, and discussed how she was affected, never mind her mother HAS cancer. She is not a nice person and is always asking men to pay her attention. I just think she is awful.
Kelsey’s had an f’d up life and it shows. Hopefully he loves his children and this is all blown out of proportion for the sake of tab sales. Frankly, I’m surprised he’s staying with this chica after she lost the baby.
I don’t know. It sounds like something Camp Camille leaked to the press. Two sides to every story…I highly doubt a doting father would turn the tables like that. Something tells me she’s making it extremely difficult for him to be around. Like…”I don’t want you around for the holidays, they’re my kids too, I want them with me, and you’re not invited.” Sounds more like it.

Thanksgiving is an important Holiday but if my dad had to come around on any holiday, if he gave damn enough to come around, I would say Christmas is the holiday kids care about the most and I am sure they will see him some other time soon after Thanksgiving, if there is a fart of truth to this story.

I’m with DevilGirl, Camille seems awful. I was watching her and wondering what type of guy is Kelsey if he is married to her. I don’t watch the show regularly but I remember the episode when she was sitting by the pool and all of the other women’s husbands were crowded around her. It was very strange.

I have a little trouble believing this story. My I separated from my ex-husband, we were required to agree on a parenting plan (aka custody agreement). This including everything: weekly visitation, child support, health insurance, and every single holiday you can think of being divvied up. For example, I have visitation on my birthday, Mother’s day, Thanksgiving. My ex has my son on Father’s day, his birthday, Memorial Day…
So, maybe Thanksgiving isn’t his day to spend with the kids? Or, maybe it’s only for like, 4 hours so he’s requested that he has them longer another time. For example, my sister lives several hours from her ex-husband, so while they have a set parenting plan the negotiate visitation changes frequently so they can combine a holiday with a weekend, etc.
Ugh. Cannot stand Camille. C/B, I can’t see how you got the impression that she loves her kids. I mean, I’m sure she does, but I’ve never seen any real evidence of it on the show. She seems to keep the kids at an arm’s length, thanks to her revolving platoons of nannies.
Hate to hear this about KG, who I always liked. Now I have to re-evaluate my take on him. Chose a trophy wife to have kids with, then abandons the kids. Even if it’s only a temporary estrangement from the kids, it’s pretty low. His kids need him and they are his most important responsibility.
George Clooney needs to give a seminar to these Hollywood men on how not to get married and how not to have children with women who you will be supporting the next 20 or more years.
We’re hearing everything from her side. And while I haven’t watched the show-even you guys that say he’s a pig for cheating and leaving his kids, say she’s disgusting. So I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt here and figure she’s spinning it and as Scarlet Vixen pointed out, custody agreements would designate splitting the holidays. That said-what kind of guy would have married her to begin with? And as I always say in these situations-the real sadness: those poor kids.
I agree with Camille, he displays all the signs of NPD, down to devaluing and discarding his children from previous relationships to move on to his next target, poor unsuspecting flight attendant. getting them pregnant is the classic trap. You can only pity her because narcissists are all great actors and when he does the ‘devalue and dump’ to her she won’t know what hit her. In his case the best indicator of future behavior is past behavior.
Camille is insane on RHoBH. Since we are not hearing Kelsey’s side of this story…I am giving him the benefit of the doubt. I am sure he wants to be as far away from that loon Camille as possible!
Uh – someone has to not do Thanksgiving with the kids. It is stupid to pretend to “be a family” and have mom, dad and kids all together for a holiday. It’s confusing for the kids.

And I think 60% is reasonable. They are a family of four. That leaves 40% for one member of the family and 60% for the other three.
@Karin they don’t have to pretend to be a family. They can still be amicable and show the kids that even if mom and dad are not together it doesn’t mean they fall to the waistside. They are the most important people in this and need to know they won’t be abandoned.

In a divorce, the holidays are split. So, if their custody agreement stated that Kelsey was to have the children for Thanksgiving, and he blew them off, then he sucks. However, if the custody agreement stated that Camille was to have the children for the holiday, and she is angry that he isn’t coming to “be a family” with her and the children- well, can’t blame him for not wanting to be around his estranged, angry wife. The end result of both options is that Kelsey isn’t with his kids, but the reasons why he isn’t are important for context.

If Camille is as crazy as other posters are making her out to be, then KG is an asshole for not filing for primary custody! If she is so terrible that he can’t stand to be around her and she is not the primary caretaker of the children (being the primary employer of the children’s nannies [really 4 nannies for 2 children!!] doesn’t count), then he should be attempting to create a stable, loving home environment for them. Perhaps he hopes to establish that with the jumpoff, then re-negotiate the custody arrangements, but that seems unlikely in that it could be very difficult to alter the decree once it’s been defined by the courts.
Geez, Grammer is doing the exact same thing Sheen is doing. But Grammer does it Elite-style. He hooks in a civilian for street cred.

having said that, i saw the episode of RHWBH where one of the women (not camille) spent $60,000 on a child’s birthday party. that’s more than my yearly salary, and i have a masters degree. i’m not begrudging people with money, but to spend that much money on a 4 year old’s party, in this economy, with so many people out of work, losing their homes, so many kids going hungry, it made me ill. they all make me ill, actually, with their nannies, their personal chefs, and their housekeepers, and they all complain constantly about how “hard” they work. what planet do these ungrateful bitches live on?

Agreed. I saw that episode where that trout lipped woman made a party for her 4 year old that was really a party for the adults. The 4 year old couldn’t have cared less for the fancy table or the Barbie diamond necklace. It wasn’t until her father gave her a puppy that I actually saw happiness on the child’s face. Kids just want love, affection and support from their parents. A $60,000 party means nothing to them.

First, to all of the people making harsh comments about Camille, I say stop. Clearly this woman has suffered a humiliation that most of us would have buckled under. If I read this story before I saw Camille on RHOBH I might have been sympathetic but nah. She is a completely self-absorbed woman with a God complex. I don’t believe a word she says and it’s obvious that this story was spoon fed to the Enquirer by her people. The children clearly adore him but there is no connection between her and her children. Hell, in the first episode she talked about how great surrogacy was because she didn’t have to ruin her figure and she’s always blathering about her four nannies. I agree with the earlier post which said Camille looks more 50s than 40s. I think the aging pole dancer is definitely lying about her age.
Camille and Danielle Staub should get together and do a Merry Slutmas special. They can both dance on the pole together and enjoy like company in thier natural environment.
I don’t believe this for one second. Sounds like another Camille lie to me. The woman has issues. My guess is they agreed to split holidays and now Camille is spreading this nonsense due to all the negative feedback about her personality.
(If you haven’t seen the show, there’s no way to understand how awful she is. It’s like a new level of horrible not imagineable by most.)
And heck, I’ve never been a fan of Kelsey Grammer, but he’s certainly more tolerable than Camille.
What woman other than one seeking money or fame would want a 3x married man with kids he seems to not care about. The new girlfriend looks much older than 29 and is quite hippy which he’ll get tired of quickly I’m sure.
