Am I the only one who doesn’t think she was trying to complain about the material she was given? I could be wrong — I don’t watch Grey’s Anatomy, so I don’t follow it too much — but it seemed to me like she was probably commenting more on the fact that she’s had a few movies come out and therefore this season’s material wasn’t as strong, because she asked Shonda. I mean given Shonda’s statement it makes perfect sense. It just sounds to me like people twisting her words to make her sound bad and create this big scandal out of nothing.

The show is boring. The actors are bored. Can’t blame them for wanting to move on, even if they do have contracts. Not a crime to complain. There’s no drama here. Just people who want to create drama.

I stopped watching Grey’s Anatomy after the Isaiah Washington debacle. I have a LOT of gay friends, but I still think he was overwhelmingly treated like a scapegoat to garner tv ratings. Izzie never added much value anyway – let her go.

  4. Lara says:

Given the fact that she didn’t clarify her comments but remained silent when people started criticizing her, i don’t think she was mistaken. GA jumped the shark with those awful ferry boat/ suicide episodes. But letting the writers know via the press that their writing sucks is tacky.

  5. Kaiser/ Hippacrat says:

I don’t watch GA, so I really have no opinion of the story lines.

But I think that by acting like such a bitch (the VF interview, the Emmy nom controversy), Hiegl has done permanent damage to her career. At this point she should just be playing nice and saying “yes” to whatever tumor/bed pan/loose stool story line the writers come up with.

  6. Persistent Cat says:

I think she displayed so much egotism in her withdrawing from the race. All shows submit their casts for these nominations, doesn’t mean they’ll make it to the final five. She spoke as if she had a lock on the win. I just despise her.

I stopped watching because the characters were just so self-absorbed. Helen is right, they should just talk to mirrors. Usually they just talk at each other.

Has this ever been a ‘medical drama’? I thought it was just a soap series. About as interesting as those Harlequin doctor’s romances.

  8. kate says:

i cannnot believe this show is still on -i watched it once and i thought i was watching a high school play. actually, no…i’ve seen better high school plays. i hope all their characters get the plague and die. the end.

  9. Obvious says:

I applaud Katherine for speaking out. She’s right. She didn’t have the material. Very few did because of the writers strike almost every show had weak writing. Besides she already won last year, so it’s just another way to let someone else have a chance.

I don’t approve of the way she did it, but she was right. And Shonda doesn’t seem the type to me to defend people who upset her, Katherine you were right, just try to be a little nicer about things.

Ahhahahahahahahhahahaha, *big breath* ahshhahdhahahhahahahahahhahahaha! They are going to make her work with Issiah again. Perfect punishment! Hahahahahhaha!

    Shonda’s a genius.
