Pippa Middleton’s $120 Zara coat: too cute to be worn just once?

Here are some new photos of Pippa Middleton, out and about in London yesterday. I’ve only recently noticed this, but I’m sure some of you have been paying attention: what’s with Pippa never wearing the same coat twice? I know the Middleton girls have an unlimited shopping budget, but even Duchess Kate recycles, especially when it’s a pricier item like a coat. It seems like Pippa’s coat budget is astronomical! To be fair, these are not super-heavy winter coats for the most part, they’re lighter fall jackets and stylish “car coats” as we say in America. This one, in this orange-red color, is from Zara – you can shop the look here. It costs 80 pounds, or about $120. Not unreasonable, but it’s too much if you’re on a budget and you’re only going to wear it once.

In other Pippa news, ABC News (no joke) did a report on how Pippa’s ass of lies is now an international phenomenon. Literally – everyone just ASSumes at this point that Pippa was wearing some kind of booty-enhancing butt-pads during her sister’s wedding, and now a Texas ass-padding company is trying to make some money off of Pippa’s flat butt.

You bitches and your complaints about your small asses! STFU. You don’t know what it’s like to have a big bubble butt. It’s terrible! Okay, it’s not terrible, and I actually get compliments on my ass often enough, but still! I wish I could have a small ass, just to see what it’s like.

Here’s some more of Pippa’s coat pr0n – she has a Button Problem, but it’s relatively minor compared to Kate’s.

The Pippster and her coat rock it! She is The Bomb! The Ultimate Queen of Style.

  2. only1shmoo says:

The red coat does nothing for me, it doesn’t look tailored and just sort of hangs on her. Actually, I think her look is often pretty disheveled, now that I think of it.

  3. Leni says:

I try to like her look but I find her rather hard-faced. She is not pretty or attractive. She can look smart or well put together but I do not really get the interest other than her being Kate’s sister. Am I missing something?

    • Marion says:

Definitely sharing your opinion here! She’s wayyyy less pretty than her sister. Well, she has a nice body but that about all… She’s no beauty to me

  4. Quest says:

Don’t like the Zara Coat but I love the black and grey ones she is wearing in the last two pics.

  5. GoodCapon says:

Cute coat? Am I missing something here? That coat is fug. Like owner, like coat. And FYI she has worn that coat before.

If you want to see a cute coat, check out the blue one she wore the other day. Now THAT is one I would like to get my hands on.

  6. Jackie says:

i think we were all hoping she was going to be stylish, but it turns out she really isn’t. the coats are ok. meh.

    her stock is falling fast.

  7. Cathy says:

What’s with the buttons, does she have a button fetish?

  8. Elina says:

Ok….all the booty talk has to stop. She never had a booty! She looked like a toothpick draped in fabric! There was NOTHING impressive about her! I saw the wedding pics plenty of times and if she was wearing pads then I just feel bad for her and her sad backside.

  9. BabySwans says:

She tries to be stylish, but always falls short. For instance, she’ll have a cute jacket on over a dress or shirt that should have had a different neck line, etc. Also, she REALLY needs to do something with her eyebrows. Maybe then she wouldn’t look so harsh.

  10. Kelly says:

I agree, she is hard-faced. Both sisters need to lay off the eyeliner and the caked-on bronzer. And I suspect Pippa smokes, which would account for the poor skin tone.

Can we please, please, PLEASE stop covering this woman. She is NOT a celebrity. Being the sister of someone does not make one a celebrity. She’s never done anything noteworthy in her life. Enough of her “dates,” her butt, just ENOUGH!

    • Mare says:

Why stop writing about her? You, me and a lot of other people opened this article and wrote a comment. That’s all that matters. People who run these websites don’t care if a Pippa story gathers 100 positive comments, 100 negative comments or 100 “she’s nobody, stop writing about her” comments. The only thing that matters is number of clicks and comments. Same thing with Kardashians. Every story about them has 200 commments “I hate them, stop writing about them” but those people who write that are the very reason why media will not stop covering Kardashians.

      • Kelly says:

I actually didn’t read the article, I just wanted to post my heartfelt plea. Believe it or not, the Kardashians – though I agree they should be ignored! – are marginally more interesting than Pippa. They have a TV show, on which they say stupid things! Thus they’re more quotable and more mockable.

    • Mare says:

I agree with you that she’s not a celebrity and she seems to live pretty normal, boring life, but the media gives us readers what we want and seek. If it garners our attention, they will not stop. They live off our clicks.

    button problem fo sho

  12. heather says:

Isn’t Angie supposed to be padding her ass now too? (according to Star)

red coat is kind of meh, the grey outfit is much nicer

  13. INeedANap says:

Kaiser! Love your booty! Don’t give in to narrow beauty standards. Why would you want a small booty with your body shape? You said you were busty — to me there is nothing stranger than a large-breasted woman with a flat ass. You’re proportional and va-va-voom-ish. For next Halloween dress up as a 40’s era pinup girl, you’ll love your butt then!

(Full disclosure: I am a Latina with a ghetto booty that I absolutely adore. I live in Massachusetts where all my girlfriends are horrified by it, people try to tell me it’s fug all the time, and all my boyfriends have tried to make me diet. Maybe I love my butt bc I’m defiant, but honestly I think a toned bubble butt looks great!)

    • Delta Juliet says:

I’ve always had a very round butt (when I was a size 2, and now at a size 6. I too have gotten lots of compliments on my butt, but yeah, there are days when I wish my pants weren’t so filled out 😉

Proportions are important though, and I am pretty busty so there you go.

      • iseepinkelefants says:

I hear ya. If I didn’t have a big butt I’d be a size 4 or smaller. I hate it but then I look at Pippa and I guess I should be thankful for it. It’s better than having nothing at all.

    • Alexis says:

I also have a big butt – and just to speak up for Boston, I think it plays well here!

My enthusiasm for it comes and goes. Sometimes I love it and think it looks great. But sometimes I fear it makes me look fat (I’m a size 2 or 4 depending on the brand – so I’m not overweight, but my legs would look skinner if my butt wasn’s so distracting), or is too sexual somehow.

    • Emily says:

I too have a big butt, and I love it. I get compliments on it a lot, especially if I’m wearing jeans. I’d like to slim my thighs down a bit (okay, a LOT), but don’t want my butt to shrink.

  14. Roma says:

I have a super flat butt. It doesn’t matter how many squats and lunges I do the thing just won’t pop.

I have VS butt lift jeans and they are TOTALLY worth it.

I say padding on Pippa at the wedding.

  15. Esmom says:

Meh. Which is how I feel about her style in general (or lack thereof). She is not remotely fashion forward. I don’t have a problem with that as many people are not, yet she gets covered for her fashion choices, which leaves me scratching my head.

I’ve said this before but she reminds me of Carolyn Bessette Kennedy in that she suddenly became high profile and people were fascinated by her style. Yet Carolyn was truly stylish and set trends. Pippa, not so much, imo.

    • iseepinkelefants says:

Sacrilege! CBK is nothing like Pippa, maybe more like Kate (without the love of the camera) but 1) she married JFK Jr. who was a gorgeous, gorgeous man (William doesn’t compare), and she looked fashionable but an effortless fashionable, like she had “it”, that something where she didn’t spend hours picking out outfits, she either just picked something and it clicked, or it looked better because it was on her. None of the Middleton’s have that.

  16. The.princess.leia says:

Is that a ring on her left hand?

  17. Miladie29 says:

Girl is not fashionable or stylish.

Neither is her sister, but the media has decided that they should be the ones that should be followed for their “fashion”.

Pippa has no idea how to dress up a pair of jeans when wearing a coat. She often wears clashing colors and fabrics.

Last time she was wearing a white lace dress with a black tweed jacket, opaque tights, and white ballerina shoes. Two fabrics that worked against each other (lace and tweed), and then the cherry on top was wearing bright shoes with dark tights.

Some of her clothes look cheap, whether they’re truly cheap or that’s due to Pippa not having a ‘chic’/sophisticated look. She and Chelsea Davy share the same vibe: both of them have this cheap, tacky air about them.

Kate can actually look very posh and elegant given the right outfit.

    • iseepinkelefants says:

Agreed. Though Chelsy Davy with all her money (and she is ALOT richer than the Middleton’s) always looks cheap. I don’t know if it’s her vibe, the way she wears her clothes or the way they look on her but no matter the designer or price it just looks like something that came from Forever 21. Pippa’s not as bad but you’re dead on comparing her to Chelsy.

  18. Cerulean says:

She tries too hard. Always sunglasses? In England?
I have a filled out butt due to genetics and exercise. I like it. But I also have a chest and slender hips. So it’s balanced. I can understand how a woman wants to photograph well so they wear a little something to help them out. But Pippa should have realized it would be turned into assgate.
    Something about her irks me.

  19. saintdevil says:

She gets papped every day and is considered an “IT-Girl” so it stands to reason that she gets all the clothes she wants for free.

  20. Reece says:

I’ve come to the conclusion that she has a storage facility somewhere for all her coats. Like that woman with the 2000 pairs of shoes. Can’t remember her name.

Red one is meh. The others, I WANT!

  21. lynda says:

I am sure designers send her all her clothes. Doubt she’s on a budget or has had to pay for anything. Her style is pretty boring. She wears the same type of outfit just in varying colors. I do think she is pretty though but not nearly so as her sister.

  22. Laughing Librarian says:

120 bucks?-I’ll buy every color, except red, which doesn’t suit me.
My usual store is Goodwill, since I’m a grad student-maybe I can hit someone up for Christmas….

  23. Bitchbelying says:

Man, never seen a 28 yr old with so much bags under her eyes. She’s cute but I don’t get the hot or pretty about her.

I think her boots collection is better. Kaiser write about that.

  24. Fue McCormick says:

Pippa Middleton: Ugly outfit No. 25! Why does this woman look like shit when she walks out of the house each day? The red coat’s not bad; however, it doesn’t fit her correctly. Before this woman does anything else she should find herself a good tailor … and see him/her a lot. I will never understand why people buy something off the rack in a size that’s “close to fitting” and then don’t have it tailored so they look good. I will say it again: she needs to get herself a subscription to Vogue, or Harper’s Bazaar, or Elle, or Marie Clare, or W … stat.

  25. Gayle says:

I don’t know why these girls wear cheap brands like Zara at all when they can probably get designer duds for free/have enough money to buy them anyway. It’s the same with Katie and her Reiss obsession. These brands are like Banana Republic in the U.S., only more fashion-forward. But the cheapness shows in the sloppy fit and bad tailoring. Buy a Burberry trench and look decent, for crying out loud.

  26. Ranga says:

Ugh Zara, why do people shop there?

It’s easier to make your butt look bigger/fuller than to make it look smaller! I can look like Skeletor on the top and still my butt persists!

  27. LBeees says:

Praise to godtopus, buy a reusable cup already.

  28. silkworm says:

I don’t get why people are paying attention to her style. It’s awful. Her clothes are boring and her bags are ugly shits.

  29. whatevs says:

she has a constant bitchface nowadays because i guess she realized than she’s not going to “happen”. everyone realized her butt is flat and they were so over her. lmfao that face is nothing to be infatuated with! i like how they use eyeliners constantly to make ugly chicks look good and it never works. kelly mcdonald, this chick and many others. we can still see the rest of your faces.

  30. iseepinkelefants says:

I find that she makes clothes look tacky. The black with tan trim is the one instance where she actually looks good but the rest, are just meh. I wouldn’t buy something just because she wore it. The hideous boots that don’t match makes the clothes looks worse. She’s definitely not making my stylish list anytime soon.

And as for her choice in brands. Zara’s okay but they’re kind of expensive for throwaway clothes. I’d much rather spend more money on something I know will have a place in my closet for years to come. Zara’s not that kind of brand.

  31. S says:

Re: the number of coats. I live in Seattle with similar cool rainy weather and i have at least a dozen coats. If you wear them 10 months of the year, you begin to collect them.
