Amanda Seyfried in pale Nina Ricci for the ‘Gone’ premiere: awful or adorable?

Amanda Seyfried gets yet another stab at trying to make this whole “lead actress” thing happen in her latest film, Gone. What’s sketchy to me that Amanda is in one of the best positions in Hollywood to actually have a major break out – this girl gets so much work, and she even has some hit films under her belt. She has the career that Blake Lively, Megan Fox and Jessica Biel wish they had, you know? I tend to think that Amanda would actually be a more established “celebrity” actress if she was just a tad more interesting. Instead, her interviews are usually as interesting as watching paint dry. Same with her style – I can’t recall Amanda ever wearing anything that made me sit up and take notice. For last night’s premiere of Gone, Amanda wore this completely boring Nina Ricci which manages to do nothing for her figure and it washes her out completely, and yet… it’s not even interesting enough to be considered “hideous.”

I also think Amanda has great hair, but I don’t get this style at all. And she looked so pissed off in so many photos. Does she think her film is going to bomb? It might. The trailer looks awful.

Just so we don’t have to only discuss Amanda, here’s a photo of Wes Bentley, who costars with Amanda. His eyes are so… intense.

And I had never heard of this actor, Sam Upton, but I became enchanted with him in these photos. His brows are kind of crazy, but that face is… mmm…my type.

She looks like Madonna in those pics.

  2. Maya says:

She has Madonna hair. Her hair is identical to the style Madonna had a few years ago.
Don’t know about the dress. It seems that most designers are going retro lately?

  3. Asli says:

I was wondering why she wasn’t breaking through majorly by now and I think you nailed it. She’s just not interesting enough.

  4. Ruby Red Lips says:

I love love love Amanda & more than anything love that she still remains slightly under the radar – this is probably the best option seeing how major fame and attention screws with most celeb’s lives and health! & she can likely still retain a private life of sorts.

I love this dress on her – she looks all etheral and ghostlike which I love, slightly quirky and less mainstream.

  5. Mitch Buchanan Rocks says:

Upon first glance I thought this was Madonna.

  6. Samigirl says:

I don’t know why, but I’ve always had a big thing for Wes Bentley. Even in that awful movie where he was a parking garage security guard who kidnapped the girl. He’s does it for me in a big way 🙂

    • truthSF says:

@Samigirl, That sounds exactly like a L&O SVU rerun I watched recently. Except, that wasn’t Wes Bentley who played the part, just an actor who looked very much like him.

      • Samigirl says:

I’m going to have to search that episode. I’ll take a Wes Bentley knock-off, haha! Plus, Christopher Meloni is so yum. I watch the series Oz every year to get my fix 😉

      • Asli says:

@Sami, Chris Meloni is going to be on True Blood! He plays a villain vampire and you know how TB feels about nudity… Probably not Oz-level, though.

    • MJ says:

Me too! I’m glad he’s overcome his heroin addiction and is back in movies again. He’s so hot.

    • Ari says:

I saw that movie – its called P9 or something right? They like have thanksgiving or christmas dinner or something like that – yeah he was uber sexy-creepy in that!

      • Samigirl says:

Girl, YES. He ties her up with Christmas lights, I think? And they have Christmas dinner together. So weird. And sexy 😉

  7. MSat says:

She’s boring and she gives off a “Bitch” vibe. The only thing I’ve ever liked her in was “Veronica Mars” where she played a dead girl!

  8. Dawn says:

I like it. She looks young and healthy.

  9. ladyfoot says:

i’m gonna veto those shoes with that dress-whatever happened to manolos or at least something dainty? not aniston strappy, just not clodhoppers

  10. ladybert62 says:

Her dres is ugly and so is her hairdo.

  11. mel says:

I think she is a cute actress…I like her – but her eyes look a little druggie? Dress is cute on her…but her hair is eh.

  12. Amy says:

Did anyone see her on Conan last night? Homegirl has a taxidermy collection.

  13. lucy2 says:

I think she’s a good actress, but this new movie looks pretty bad, just a generic “thriller”.
She does look like Madonna here.

  14. Jessica says:

Ohh la la!! Sam Upton is GORGEOUS!!

    • INeedANap says:

Dude, yeah, that guy is sexy as hell! And his personality just totally shines through on hsi face…you know a date with him would be an exciting whirlwind that would end with your panties on his head.

      I mean what?

  15. operagirl says:

Sam Upton looks hella fun. If you know what I mean. ;>

  16. Rory says:

Why would Blake Lively want Amanda Seyfried’s career when she’s shown she only wants to do top of the line stuff? Yes, she gets cast in a lot of movies but their sh-tty movies. Quality over quantity people. She only has two fresh movies on her Rotten Tomatoes profile. Gone is so bad it isn’t even being screened for critics, Red Riding Hood? Flop. In Time? Flop. She’s only coasting on goodwill from Big Love and Mean Girls.

Not even Megan Fox or Jessica Biel would want that career.

    • Leonie says:

Yeah, and those failures called Mamma Mia and Dear John… Oh wait…

      • Rory says:

Even though they made money, it doesn’t change the fact that they were critical failures. Money is not an indicator of quality see: Michael Bay, Transformers. Dear John has 39% on RT fyi and Meryl Streep was the only critical saving grace for Mamma Mia.

  17. Aiobhan says:

Sam Upton is sex on wheels but those eyebrows are nasty. Not Micheal “Unibrow” Imperioli nasty but they do need to be tamed.

Wes Bentley creeps me out… in a good way. I did not know that he had a drug habit but it does explain why he has not been on the scene in a while. He is a really good actor.

I agree with almost every criticism here: she does have Madonna hair, this film will be a flop, and that dress is fugly. How she was able to get the ugliest, most unflattering dress from that collection I have no clue. Her one-note do eyed look is getting old.

  18. janie says:

ITS MADONNA. But really, that hairstyle is not flattering at all. I think she’s absolutely gorgeous most of the time but she looks thin here and her eyes are bloodshot. Hope she was just having an “off” night. I love the dress but not on her..it just emphasizes how washed out she was.

  19. taxi says:

Pop-eyed alien ghost. Dress is almost a match for her corpse-like skin.

  20. benny says:

It’s a combination of her eyes being too wide apart and her very pointy chin — it makes her look like a space alien. It just kinda ceeps me out.

  21. Nan209 says:

I’ve never quite understood what everyone saw in her. She’s kind of cute, in a bug eyed kind of way, and she’s young so she has that youthful bloom. However, her talents are limited. She’s pretty one dimensional on screen even whe she’s playing some crazy chick. I honestly just don’t get it. However, I like the dress but just wish it was fitted and a brighter color.

  22. Katie says:

The middle part in the curly, lank hair is a style trend that needs to die. It flatters no one. Also, the dress wouldn’t be bad if the hemline of the underskirt and the top skirt were the same. If she wanted to pull off this flesh colored ensemble, she needed her make up to pop. Instead she just looks washed out and run over. I genuinely like her as an actress and she seems like a sweet person. I hate to be all down on her, but this look does nothing for her.

    • yasmine says:

that’s what I thought, maybe a more dramatic makeup with a little color on the lips( fushia pink or red) or defenetly another color for the dress.
pale skin + pale dress color + blond hair = she looks like a wax figure

  23. me says:

I’m tired of her stained-lip/smokey bug eyed look. Everytime I see a picture of her the words “thyroid disease” pop into my head because of those eyes.

  24. EatCake says:

    Wes Bentley….yum yum yum!!!!

I might go watch this just for him 😉

I thought Underworld was going to at least keep his character alive for more than 5 minutes but I was wrong. So sad.

  25. Jin says:

I don’t even notice what she’s wearing because I’m so mesmerized by that HAIR! The most beautiful blonde hair ever!

  26. joxjooze says:

She makes me yawn- she really is boring.
    Like the dress though

  27. LittleFATMe says:

Something very Madonna about her head in these pictures. Hmmm.

  28. NeoCleo says:

Wes Bentley reminds me of a young Clint Eastwood.

  29. Camille (The original) says:

Hasn’t that movie been made before? (ie: it looks generic and like so many before it)

As for Amanda, she is a pretty woman and seems sweet but she has the personality of dry toast.

  30. bea says:

Wes Bentley is so, so fine! Hope he keeps it together – he should be a big name.

The other guy is cute too.

She looks fine – I like the dress the bottom the most. She also looks very bored.

  31. foozy says:

i think she looks really good in it! i think the hair suits her. the whole thing gives her an air of sexiness..

  32. Amy says:

Aw, Wes Bentley. When American Beauty came out, I was just certain he was destined for greatness. And sadly over the last 13 years, his career has just kind of languished.

As per usual, I read the earlier comments after I post mine. So he had a heroin addiction? That would explain it. I hope he’s successful in his sobriety. I always liked him.
