Don’t even ask at this point if there’s any rhyme or reason to these groupings of photos. There’s not. I was just going through the photos of the Vanity Fair post-Oscar party, pulling random images as I muttered to myself, “Ugh, hideous.” So here’s one of my contenders for worst dressed of the evening, January Jones in Wes Gordan. Like, I hate this in every conceivable way. I hate her hair, I hate her makeup, I hate the combination of colors, I hate the design. I can’t find one nice thing to say. She looks terrible.
Claire Danes in frilly pink Valentino. It’s… not my style. I think she’s too old to wear it too. I would expect this on Taylor Swift, only she would find it too “revealing”!!
Diane Kruger in Calvin Klein. Er. The color is beautiful on her. Is the bra intentional? Is that part of the design? She looks cold, right? Cold and uncomfortable.
Here’s Sofia Vergara in Cavalli – I don’t like the dress on her at all. She’s beautiful, but it looks like a really fussy wedding gown. I prefer her in sleeker looks.
Here’s Kate Beckinsale in Julien Macdonald. At least it’s not a prom dress? It’s not a look she’s done before, but there’s a reason for that. This is awful!!

she needs to use the same stylist, hair and makeup people from the show to dress her for events.

As much as I hate January Jones for being terribly vapid and a horrible actress, I do think she looked quite itriguing!! I like this combination of colours and materials, maybe just the top needed to be fitted better.
As for Claire Danes: I LOVE this dress!! It’s so fun, young and well constructed, perfect for a party.
I totally agree with you about Claire’s dress. I hate the color pink but this works on her skin and for the event in general. It is the best part of the 80s. If they remade Pretty in Pink this would be the dress that Molly Ringwald’s character would wear. I cannot believe that I actually like a Valentino dress.

I like January Jones except for the fit of the top. The top of the dress looks like someone just wrapped a piece of cloth around her top to cover her up. Other than that, I like the color combo and her hair is OK, but not great.
Sofia looks great. I don’t mind the white color. I agree about the rest of them, especially Kate Beckinsale. What a mess of a dress.

I absolutely loved Claire Danes dress, but the color made it look too young for her….a different color, and….SMASHING, win-win…but the dress looks young and playful, and I agree Claire is too old for this look and color…again, another color.
Diane Kruger…yes..a miserable fail. I mean, the dress is a PLAYFUL design…so, why does she look so serious and forlorn? This dress would’ve looked better on someone a little bustier and…um…HAPPY! You know, to go w/the playful design. On her? Again, a miserable fail. And yes, she does look cold…LOL!

January looks horrid. Kate is just so pretty idk what to think. Claire…I’m gunna be honest. I like the dress. the color is fun and refreshing. Sofia looks like she wears all the same dresses in different colors. has she worn anything feminine and flowy? I’d like to see that.

I unashameably LOVE it! I loved Kate’s too. Then again this site is like my anti-fashion bible, if Kaiser hates it, I’m almost guaranteed to love it and vice versa.

I actually kind of enjoy the general sense of adventure in the gowns for this one! Including Miley Cyrus’ even. I am loving the vivid colors and glamourous hair and makeup, reminds me of why I even got interested in browsing through red carpet photos in the first place 🙂
Kate Bs dress is gorgeous! it’s her hairstyle that detracts from the look-it does not match the dress. she should have done an updo like J Lo or something….
January’s is nice-except for the peek a boo skin int he front….her hair is weird, though, and the makeup. but the ensemble i do not mind.
Sofia V always look sthe same to me style wise-she said it herself ‘tranny’, in that interview. she is gorgeous no doubt about it. but i dont usually care for her style, ever. even if the color is right, the look almost never is.
kruger has impeccable taste, normally. she still looks beautiful bu tthe bra is weird. at least it’s for a party, nt the oscar’s, so it’s more appropriate.
while i understand the danes dress as being too young for her, I still love it, and i think she pulls it off! you almost want to think it’s too frou frou, but then you just love it. it works. she looks great IMO.

JJ and Kruger were a tie for most awful in my opinion. Its clear to me that having a baby has out a krimp in JJ disposable income because she certainly did NOT hire a stylist. Her hair was fug and I have no idea where she dug up that nightmare of a dress. her makeup, also, was too harsh.
Diane kruger……whats with the hunched, linebacker shoulders. Her face….all pinched and pained looking. Her chest….flat as a scrawny chicken. That color and cut of her dress did NOTHING for her…..Ive never seen her look so babd…but, to me, she is so homely anyway…Ive never understood how she made it out there.
