I’ve been thinking about Jake Gyllenhaal for most of this week. Ever since Reese Witherspoon announced her pregnancy, in fact. Remember Jake and Reese? They were so cute. Almost too cute to believe. I can’t believe they managed to stick it out for… something like two years, right? Jake was the first dude Reese dated after her divorce from Ryan Phillippe (Jim Toth was the second!), and it’s widely believed that Reese dumped Jake when the time came. Allegedly, Jake was devastated. He had grown close to Ava and Deacon, and people said Jake really thought Reese was “the one”. Their split happened more than two years ago…and what has happened since?
Reese rebounded immediately with Jim Toth, and they got serious very quickly. Engaged within a year, married and now expecting their first child together. Jake dated Taylor Swift for a few months (cuddlefesting!) and maybe Olivia Wilde for a hot minute. Oh, he tried to get with Minka Kelly, Rashida Jones and Anna Kendrick too, I think. I haven’t heard of Jake associated with a lady in a while, though. So… is Jake still hung up on Reese? Can he simply not will himself to love like that again? OK, now I’m just making myself laugh.
She broke his heart and dumped him two years ago, but Reese Witherspoon still makes the cut with Jake Gyllenhaal – before he reads any magazine or newspaper, an assistant rips or snips out every last photo of Reese because he’s still torching… and simply can’t bear to see her face!
Said a family friend: “You’d think he’s be over it by now, especially since he’s dated many beauties like Taylor Swift, and Reese is now married. But Jake can’t bring himself to look at her photo – and absolutely refuses to see her movies. So before any publications are given to him, Reese stories or pictures are RIPPED! PS… Who else read Lainey’s blind item and thought “Dimples” was Jake? Right?

Dimples could be JGL, although hints today to Ryan Gosling.

Michael Pitt is a great guess for Drama! I picked Sean Penn because he finished filming a movie with Ryan G just a few months ago.

@marie, Gosling and Penn did film a movie together not long ago, co-starring Emma Stone, who wore pretty old-fashioned dresses, the movie is called “The Gangster Squad”.
Now CDAN had a blind a few months ago, where most thought it was Gosling and Penn: apparently Penn was being a bully and really loud on set, while Ryan kept his cool and did not flinch when Penn was yelling at him.

Ted has made it totally obvious that Toothy Tile is Jakey G, but I’m not sure I believe the Toothy Tile blinds are true. Lainey has consistently said that the Jake G gay rumors aren’t true, and I generally put more stock in the accuracy of her gossip than Ted’s.
If Jake IS gay, I hope he can accept that fact and fall in love with a guy. I hate to think of people in this day and age having to deny their sexuality.

Pitt and Gosling both were in Murder by Numbers it was released in 2002, maybe Ryan hooked up with Pitt while shooting the movie and after their breakup went sour he decided to date Sandra Bullock. Did Lainey say when it did happen ? She could have been told an old story for what we know.

Reese is a master at PR. After her divorce, she hooked up with Jake for her career, to not be pinned as a victim Jennifer Aniston. After meeting Toth and awhile of dating him, she “split” with Jake, who was then left beardless for promotion of Prince of Persia.

That’s why rebounding right after a bad marriage or long relationship isn’t a good idea…cause then the rebound ends up getting hurt or if they are just a fling…then you are not happy or satisfied, cause the divorced person is still hung up on THEIR own ex. So bad move on her part…Unless there is more to the story no one knows…unless she dumped him for a reason and no one knows.
