More photos from the Billboard Music Awards – here’s Alicia Keys and her husband (*shakes head*) Swizz Beatz. Alicia wore Azzedine Alaïa, and I don’t hate it. At all. Ordinally, I find Alicia’s style to be hit-or-miss – mostly miss. Alicia usually gunks up her look with some kind of tacky-looking headpiece (Cleopatra Keys!). She also likes pants and shorts that are extremely unflattering to her figure, and while I like the menswear-as-womenswear look, Alicia really doesn’t do it well. But I find this gown to be rather elegant and classic, and it really suits her. What I dislike: I hate that Swizz and Alicia went “black-and-white” coordinated. I don’t really care for Alicia’s hair either – it looks like it hurts. But overall, if I close one eye and ignore Swizz, this is maybe the best Alicia has looked in a long time.

Also – why is Alicia doing the “Beyonce-palms-on-upper-thigh” pose? It doesn’t make you look slimmer. It makes you think “Huh, I bet she hates that part of her body. Let me look at it.”

And here’s Zooey Deschanel in Moschino. I don’t hate the little shift dress/cocktail dress. It’s her style, and while I wouldn’t and couldn’t pull it off, it kind of works for her. I don’t think she should have gone with black tights, though. I will say this: her bangs are WAY too long. I can already feel the Bangs Trauma Pity Party coming in here to scream at me and throw a bangsy hissy fit, but seriously, bangs-lovers: these bangs are too thick and too long even for you, correct? I think her lipstick is a few shades too orange-y too.
