Duchess Kate & William’s epic royal tour of Asia will only last for eight days

In all of the professional and amateur analysis of Prince William and Duchess Kate and when they will finally get down to royal baby-making and whether or not William is kind of bored with poor Kate, one topic kept on coming up as an “excuse” for why they haven’t gotten pregnant yet. That topic? William and Kate were expected to go on a grueling Asian trip in the fall, all part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee festivities, in which the Queen and/or members of the royal family visit commonwealth countries and countries with close ties to the UK. Everyone kept going on and on and on about how much planning was going into Will and Kate’s trip and they made it sound like it was going to be the most extensive and tedious royal tour ever.

Well, yesterday the dates and specifics of the tour were announced. The “tour” lasts ONE WEEK. For real! True, it sounds like a very busy, even a grueling week. But it’s just one week. And that’s the reason Kate and William are putting off baby-making? The basic schedule: Singapore (September 11-12), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur and Sabah, Borneo, from September 13 to September 15); the Solomon Islands (September 16-18); and finally, Tuvalu (September 18 to September 19). Eight or nine days, depending on where you count the beginning and the end of a full day. And probably 30 outfits for Kate. SO MUCH SHOPPING!! And she’ll have to bring her hair guy too. Here’s more about the tour.

The Pacific islands of Solomon and Tuvalu will host the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Diamond Jubilee visit in September, St James’s Palace has confirmed. William and Kate are likely to enjoy a rapturous welcome from the residents of the remote outcrops as they celebrate the Queen’s 60-year reign.

Kate has already revealed that William has been practising his dance moves ahead of their trip to the Solomon Islands, a former British protectorate off the coast of Australia.

The Duchess spoke about the Duke’s special preparations when the royal couple met the Solomon Islands’ governor general Sir Frank Kabui at a reception last month following a Diamond Jubilee thanksgiving service.

During the event at the Guildhall, William said: “We’re extremely excited. Both of us have never been anywhere near there.”

Kate giggled as she added: “William’s been practising his dance moves.”

During their Diamond Jubilee tour the royal couple will visit Singapore from September 11-13 and travel on to Malaysia where they will tour Kuala Lumpur and Sabah, Borneo from September 13-15.

The visit to the Solomon Islands will be held from September 16-18 and the final stop will be the tiny nation of Tuvalu from September 18-19.

A St James’s Palace spokesman said further details about the tour would be released later in the summer.

[From The Press Association]

I hope William does dance. I hope Kate dances too. It’s a royal tradition! But no one dances like Prince Harry during a royal tour!

Anyway, Will and Kate will visit the world’s oldest rainforest of Borneo (they get to hang out with orangutans, lucky!), and they will be the first members of the royal family to visit Tuvalu (which is just 10 square miles in total) since 1982. OH!! The Telegraph says they will have an entourage of nine people, and one of those people is definitely Kate’s hair guy. Of course! Kate also gets to bring her “aide” Rebecca Deacon (who probably has the easiest job in the world), plus press officers, a personal assistant and “an orderly”…? And maybe then, after all of that, Kate and William will finally get around to making a baby. Just kidding, they’ll just go on vacation for a month after the tour.

poor things. after a whole week of 1st class travel and having to make small talk while people kiss their asses…they will definitely need a vacation after those grueling duties.

  2. Luise says:

No kidding, Kaiser, they may just go on a one month vacation after all one week of doing their royal duty will warrant a week’s vacay.

  3. Naomi says:

Fuck this shit, we are currently in the worst economic crisis, yes worst than the 1970s winter of discontent, worst than the fall out of the 1980s, worst than the 1930s depression and these two bints go off cavorting on *royal duties*. Fuck this shit, time to put the whole lot of them to pasture and cut the flow. Royalty is anachronistic and has no place in modern society.

    • grisgrisny says:

      Agreed!

    • iseepinkelefants@hotmail.com says:

Not to mention all the dosh you’d make without them. There’s opportunity there. Once QEII kicks the bucket, (no on should kick their gran out at that age) make them live on their own.

And everyone thought Charles was bad. These two wasters make C&C look like workaholics.

  4. Lizzie says:

Well it may not be a long tour, but if she were suffering from morning sickness it would be horrible in the heat and humidity of the places they are visiting. Also if she were preggers it could be a bit risky in the early stages. Besides if they do have a holiday afterwards, then that would be the ideal time for baby making.

    • Nina says:

Am I the only one who thinks she’s way too thin to get pregnant? I’m sure her period stopped coming about 8-10 pounds ago…

  5. LAK says:

Oh goodness no dancing from William. He is a terrible dancer!!

    • ANGELIC 20 says:

he is too up tight to do that , harry on the other hand got moves like Jagger.

  6. Bellpop says:

Even Stephen hawking thinks these 2 are boring.

  7. cw says:

Mybe she’s already preggers and she can’t do a long asian trip?

  8. Liberty says:

I’ve mentioned before I have some friends and colleagues in London, two of which have some connections with this world. This is what they’ve said: the Middleton mother and daughters may hold the belief that pregnancy opens a door for a bored or spoiled husband, basing their idea of attraction solely on weight and clothes horsing; William may not be sure anymore and may be suggesting they hold off for these events (Harry is the one who likes children, they say, by the way, less so William); the Middletons may be skilled at attracting not keeping, and still not fully get the idea of the job of making an heir, versus the fun of dressing up, throwing up and staying fashion slim or anorexic. One friend keeps saying they are making the middle-class mistake with the RF. Another says it may also be a latent desire to compete with Harry’s picks (on Kate’s part) so she, with her tiny brain nugget, is more focused on shopping, purging and grinning like a human can opener than the tasks at hand.

Interesting post, although I have to say that this kind of observation is not limited to those ‘high up there’ only – I’ve read comments, esp. from royal forums, where people have arrived at the same conclusion. 😀

      A couple of things though:
‘William may not be sure anymore ‘ – of what? Marrying Waity?

‘they are making the middle-class mistake with the RF’ – you mean allowing someone from middle-class roots to marry into the RF?

    • fairy godmother says:

      @ Liberty

Do any of your friends have insight regarding the story of their proposal?

A wedding last weekend had the same exact proposal the groom made to his bride & at the same time!

Any chance PW copied their story because as “The Flame” said before & on camera the PW ‘doesn’t have a romantic bone in his body”.

Does anyone think PW borrowed the other couple’s story because he did not make a romantic proposal?

  9. backwards says:

I saw an interview with Wills- apparently he’s been practising his moves for this tour.

Waity is too much of a stick in the mud to dance and have fun.

  10. DanaG says:

I think by this time next year there will be a Royal baby. Kate has no choice in the matter there needs to be another Royal heir. So far she has been lucky she has been allowed to wait so long. Poor Diana got preggers on her honeymoon. No one cared about her doing royal duties or tours while pregnant. Once she has had the baby she can go back to being a walking coat hanger and show off the baby when it’s needed. Not sure she is going to be in this for keeps I think William will get bored of her and her family and their money making schemes. What they call a tour most of call a vacation except we do things way harder and not first class.

  11. PrettyTarheel says:

Kaiser-I read just about everything ya’ll post on here, and I love 99% of it. I get why you think Kate is useless, and I don’t necessarily disagree-I’m her age, and I’ve been busy building a career AND making a baby. But what I don’t get is what, exactly, did you expect from William’s bride? Was there another candidate at one point that wasn’t quite so useless? Isn’t any girl that’s going to marry into the Firm going to follow a similar mold: inoffensive, boring, groomed to a T, etc? I guess I’m curious, as someone who is not well-versed in the situation…Was there someone else who would have made a better candidate? Or did Will truly decide Kate was the only way to go?

    • Kaiser says:

There were other, better candidates, but most of them were heiresses and upper-class girls with their own careers and interests who didn’t want to Waity-around for years and years, so Will went with convenience. Even then, I tend to think Will is surprised by just how unprepared Kate is for royal life. Like, she never realized how much “work” she would have to do…?

      • PrettyTarheel says:

Thanks Kaiser, and everyone else! I had no idea she was basically the Tim Tebow of royal marriages. Good enough, but not really, and only the last resort when the media forces the team’s hand…

there were many women in whom william was interested in but they all rejected him . kate was the only one who was so useless before and after and waited and tolerated whatever he threw her way . i have posted 2 videos where you can see that william cheated on kate multiple times with other better women and there were candidates who were far better then her . people who don’t believe that william ever cheated on kate can also watch 1st video as it accounts his affairs that kate was fully aware of by real royal biographers , people who follow her and his life for a living .

    • GoodCapon says:

The general consensus is that William settled for Waity, because nobody else wanted him, and she was willing to be his back-up option.

      • Esti says:

This is hilarious. I get that you don’t like Kate and that’s totally fine, but the idea that there is a “consensus” that “nobody else wanted” the future King of England is just silly. There may have been a few girls who rejected him over the years, but it’s hardly like he took a look around and realized that there was only one woman in the world that would have him and thus agreed to saddle himself to a wife he wasn’t particularly interested in.

William chose to be with Kate. That doesn’t mean you should like her or him or the two of them, but at least stop pretending that this random girl managed to scheme her way into marrying one of the most eligible men in the world despite his indifference to her.

      • iseepinkelefants@hotmail.com says:

Actually Esti – yes no one else wanted him. And even Jecca Craig was unsuitable (being African I believe, though Chelsy isn’t…?). Anyway yes those others of which I believe there were 9? refused him. And even though Waity is common she’s not that common (having been to Marlborough, St. Andrews and her parents having a few million). William pretty much went as low as he could go (any lower and there would have been an uproar about her not being blueblooded enough). Waity was just the right poor to work for the public and work for the RF (ensuring she would do anything to stay in that lifestyle).

Isabella Calthrope particularly caught his eye and would not have him. I’m sorry if the fact that people keep telling you facts means you can’t wrap your head around it. But it’s there for all to read and see. Waity was the only one to have him (and after 9 years the public practically bullied him for “stealing her youth and leading her on” he couldn’t exactly use her for second string anymore, which totally ruined his game IMO).

And he only has to be “saddled” to her until she pops out an heir and a spare, then he can take a mistress. It’s the Royal way after all.

      • GoodCapon says:

I’m not saying he’s indifferent-almost a decade of dating I’m sure he has some feelings for her- but he scraped the bottom of the barrel when he chose her. If Isabella Calthorpe, Jecca et al. showed interest in him he’d have dropped Waity like a hot potato. However some women (even the aristocratic ones) aren’t just interested in the trappings of royal life, and from what I’ve heard William doesn’t seem like a great catch in the first place, personality-wise.

Meanwhile, Kate was willing to WAIT. She had the media and the rest of her family push him into a corner until he finally married her. If he truly loved her, wouldn’t he have married her years ago? It seems to me like he was always waiting for something better to come along, but nobody came so he had to go back to her.

      • LAK says:

@Esti – perhaps this author from their own circle explains it best. He socialises intimately with them and not just polite protocol style socialising, but holidaying and swimming pool parties at his house level socialising.

  12. puac says:

seeing how thick she is in the head, maybe they(RF) are not that eager to mix genes

    • JulieM says:

puac: I’m no Waity fan, but the royal family are not exactly known for their genius either.

  13. JulieM says:

Sorry, I don’t think this Waity person is ever going to click. She just doesn’t know how. Her entire adult life was dedicated to getting Willy to the alter. Now what? If she were the least bit clever, she could figure something out.

  14. iseepinkelefants@hotmail.com says:

That “epic” tour is like one long vacation. Must be nice to visit the tropics for a week.

But of course it will be too hard on them and they’ll need to go sking or to Seychelles or where ever after such a “gruelling” 7 days of work. My heart bleeds. *eyeroll*

Charles better get his Amex ready, Waity’s going to be shopping up a storm (all under the guise it’s for work of course).

    • LAK says:

too late with the Amex! She’s been hitting the King’s Road hard. twitter is full of Waity sighting in various shops for days now.

  15. Reece says:

Anyone else think they will also be shopping for new vacation spots other than Mustique & Seychelles? haha

  16. natalina says:

    I love Kate Middleton

  17. Maria says:

William should have married Princess Madeleine of Sweden. She is gorgeous, sexy and royal to boot. Of course they never even met…. but she would be an interesting wife for him.

  18. Cloudy says:

What is the matter with you people? Anyone with any sense (that leaves most of you out) can see how much love there is between them just by the way they look at each other. And one more thing. Those pictures are not William. Get yourselves some specs!!!!!
