Controversial opinion: Reese Witherspoon was one of my picks for best dressed of the Oscars. Is that controversial? I think I liked her look so much because she’s Southern and I’m Southern and I appreciate that Reese makes it a (Southern) priority to have a complete look from head to toe, and she prioritizes looking “pulled together”. While her Louis Vuitton dress wasn’t the most amazing thing on the red carpet, she worked the hell out of it, the fit was incredible, and she was one of the few ladies wearing a really strong, bold blue. More blue on red carpets!!! I loved her hairstyle too – classic, chic and “done”. Her hair and makeup complimented the dress perfectly. This is a lesson she should have given Jennifer Aniston – how to look awesome at the Oscars while still looking “real”. Reese really was one of my faves!
And yes, Channing Tatum was another one of my favorites. I can’t help it, y’all. It’s a Southern thing. I love some Charming Potato. I like that after the amazing year he had, he got invited to the Oscars. I like that he didn’t consider it beneath him to dance with Charlize Theron in the opening. I like that he seemed really engaged with his wife Jenna DeWan too. Yes, he’s doing the belly-rubbing thing, but it’s cute. It’s his first child! He’s allowed. I don’t know who made Jenna’s dress.

I loved Reese’s dress except for the top of it, the fabric made her boobs look weird. It was like J.Laws red dress, the same problem. The color and fit of the rest of it was just amazing though.

Also, I know it just started but I am over the pull-your-hair-over-one-shoulder hairstyle. It is a personal thing, I get it, but I am starting to get angry when I see it.
I loved the color of the dress and her hair and make-up were great but the dress itself was sort of meh.
Hate this dress, looks like a Jessica McClintock prom dress from the 90’s. She seems so type A, bitchy and full of herself and generally bugs me.

This is a very safe dress. Her face and her looked great but the dress is boring. Certainly not worst dressed but also not worthy of being considered best dressed.
Mr. Potato Head looks great. I saw Side Effects this weekend along with Magic Mike and I can now see why Soderbergh has a crush on him. I like him a lot and I can help myself, I just do not want to stop liking him and his charming self.

Hate that dress. It make her look fat and she is not.
Sadly, it did make her look short and dumpy.
But I realize that she may be all of 5’2.
So anything with a flared tail fin is not ever going to look flattering on anyone, who is not 6’0 tall.

I loved her look and I’m not really even a fan of her. Simple and elegant. Totally appropriate for the occasion and being a presenter.
I can appreciate the head-to-toe look,but in this case the dress is bad and ruins it all. The material looks very synthetic and the cups / bodice are not cut well for her shape. I like the shade of blue, but the black just drags it down. Her hair, make-up and jewelry look good on her, but nothing we haven’t seen before.
I think Reese looked beautiful (I’m a southern girl, too!) but I would have loved her dress a whole more without the black bust. Channing and Jenna were adorable as always.

Did not love the dress. It made her look matronly and frankly, right now, she is WAY too pudgy for a strapless that is cut so low. She needed more support in the boobage area. Nasty fabric too. Taffeta? Really? A royal blue chiffon/silk would have fit and flowed better.

Charming potato had me laughing! I thought his dancing was weak, I know he has the street dance thing down (uh yes I have seen Step Up and Magic Mike), but his posture and footwork were too loosey goosey. I know it was just a jokey bit but they were going for Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers and it just looked sloppy. He seems like a nice guy and he and his wife are cute though.
I think the black accents make Reese’s dress look the wrong side of 80’s sorry, something about electric blue and black. But it is fitted nicely and nice to see some colour. I actually think the hairstyle clashes with the dress, it’s too forties. A sleek updo would have been better.

Reese’s boobs look weird because of the bustier and darts. But if the dress didn’t have these it would have been SUPER plain. I thing she looks great and the person above in this thread is crazy for calling her pudgy.. I love that she took her time dropping all the baby weight she gained.
I don’t like the fit, the bow (!), or Reese’s hair at all.
Reese is always pretty and put together. She has the gift of being natural even in a gown but this dress was far from her best.

Reese along with Jessica Chastain, was perfection. That hair!!! OMG I so envie that perfect hair of hers and she was so bubbly at the red carpet it was a delight to watch. I also loved Chaning and Jenna’s love fest, they’re so cute together.

She looked GORGEOUS!!! I found a lot of the fashion kind of boring but she looks great in that shade of blue. Plus she’s showing the other girls how you wear your hair down but still dressy(side eye to Jennifer aniston)
She had a lots of spandex on. Don’t know how she could breathe. The zipper was showing in the back and looked awful. Her hair full of extensions and A TON of make up! Pixs and TV might look good. In person, YUCK! I thought I was at wrong event at first! Looked like she was at prom and she has worn the same style of dress and hair many times! Too recycled! Not good! Fail!

I like Reese’s look from the waist up, but the awful bunching and wrinkling from the waist down is horrible. It makes her look shorter and dumpier than she is. Bad fabric choice for the dress. I love her hair and makeup though, very pretty.
Jenna has had an unnecessary nose job (pre pregnancy) and I think it wrecked her face. Why did she do that to herself. It’s all I see now when I look at her.

I think the fit and color of Reese’s dress were awesome. And I like that she wore COLOR! Everyone seemed to shy away from it this year which just made the red carpet boring overall.
I’m sorry to say this since her teen daughter apparently picked it out, but Reese’s dress was the most BORING of the night for me. Not ugly, not worst, just boring. Nice rich color, but it really does nothing for her.

I thought Jenna and Channing looked really great on the red carpet too. I really like(d) them as a couple until Jenna just admited yesterday that the baby will be born in London while she’s “in the middle of filming” and that she’ll be “taking ABSOLUTELY NO time off” immediately after. I’m sorry but, this chick isn’t exactly curing cancer or even a decent caliber actress at that. What on earth could she possibly be working on that is so ground breaking and/or career defining that she won’t be taking any maternity leave for herself OR the baby after he/she is born?! I can’t even…
