Vicki Gunvalson on criticism of her plastic surgery: ‘It’s my body. I’ll do whatever I want.’

Last week, Vicki Gunvalson of the Real Housewives of Orange County (I almost wrote “Orange Surgery,” I swear) premiered her new, “settled” plastic surgery on Watch What Happens Live. I thought she looked better, and many of you noted in the comments that this was plastic surgery on top of plastic surgery, it’s not like it was the first time she’d had something done. In this round, Vicki admitted to an eyelift, fat transfer to her face, a new nose and a new chin. In still photos, she looked improved to me, although on camera her face was nearly immobile and somewhat plastic. Some of you said her chin implant looked wonky and off center.

Vicki admitted that she had (additional) work done because she was feeling self conscious after some cast members nicknamed her “Miss Piggy,” and that she found it hurtful. In a follow-up interview, Vicki defended herself against people who said she didn’t need to get anything done. She also seemed to equate plastic surgery with diet and exercise, which is kind of telling.

The Real Housewives of Orange County star, 51 – who recently debuted her new cosmetically altered face – opened up about her new look and discussed how Tamra Barney left her feeling hurt in a new interview with OK!.

“Most people say it looks good, some people say you shouldn’t have done anything, you were beautiful before,” Gunvalson, who recently became a grandmother, said about the transformation.

“It’s done, it’s over with, it’s finished.”

However, despite the surgery, Gunvalson said she feels like she looks almost the same.

“I don’t feel like I look much different. But I’ll do whatever I have to do to keep looking my best whether it’s working out, eating healthy, getting a tweak. It’s my body. I’ll do whatever I want.”

Well I like how she responded to that, she was like “whatever, it’s my body.” I don’t really know much about this lady as I don’t watch RHOC, but I like how she came clean about her plastic surgery and how she addressed critics. She seems like a nice person, and like she’s vulnerable but doesn’t wallow or take too much crap. Maybe I’m wrong though, I mean she’s on reality television, how “nice” can she be?

Vicki also talked about her feud with Tamra Barney, saying that she didn’t talk to her for a long time and that she feels bad about it but is keeping it in perspective. “I have to separate the two. One is TV and one is reality. My real life is not that dysfunctional.” I thought that was pretty wise. Maybe I’m being hoodwinked, but she seems cool – for a Real Housewife. That’s a big qualifier.

    Scary

I’m just glad she put a bra on.

All these women from the real housewives, look so unnatural to me. Big boobed, botoxed, vain and superficial. I have a question. Why is her face lighter then her neck? It’s pretty obvious, but I don’t know why.

as someone who has watched RHOC since season one, don’t let her fool you. on top of being a type-A control freak to the MAX, she’s really not that nice of a person. For someone who got all butt-hurt over the comments made about her looks, she has done her fair share of snarking on other people’s looks over the years. She’s an insanely jealous person who really does have a problem being happy for anyone. How her daughter has grown up to be such a wonderfully well-adjusted woman is a miracle.

Agreed! She sure takes the Hypocrite High Road all the time. But Brianna is lovely.

My question is, when Vicki made the statement that it’s her her body and she’ll do whatever she wants, did she shriek it in the most grating way possible? That’s her standard way of communicating—screeching at the top of her lungs. Annoying.

    • Alana Fajina says:

You ladies are Right! IDK if she’s trying to do some damage control & revamp her image(look), but she is about as bad as they come.
Remember how utterly Insane she seemed last season when she was defending her & Brooks’ “love”? I mean, way to pierce our ears with your shrieking, woman. I really grew to dislike her. Now it’s all, oh, I’m so sad, people called me Miss Piggy, bullying, blah blahhhhhh.
These OC women seem to all be pretty catty and immature, but Vicky sure is a piece of work (no pun intended 😉 lol)

Honestly, that before and after pic…… the before is terrifying. I think she looks better now. But I don’t think her crazy spider eyes were doing her any favors, either.

  6. Janet says:

About time somebody said it. It is her body and it’s none of anyone else’s business what she does with it.

  7. Kate says:

She always had a cartoon character look about her. I don’t think she looks WORSE now, but I hope she stops.

  8. Dawn says:

Another one who achieved fame for no reason at all.

  9. RobN says:

I can’t really tell which is before and which is after, but at least she acknowledges it and isn’t trying to attribute it to some new skin care regimen.

  10. Anonny says:

I don’t understand why she got a chin implant. It ruined her profile (don’t people realize they’re seen from all angles?) and is not an improvement. The rest of her “work” looks negligible, so this seems like a waste of time and money.

    • Itsa Reallyme says:

Yeah, I don’t understand the chin thing either. It seems like there would have been other areas that needed more work than the chin. I saw nothing wrong with the chin before.

  11. janie says:

I think she looks beautiful, leave her alone. Tamara & Gretchen act like mean girls in High School to Vicki. It’s stupid & childish. Grow up!

  12. Pebbles says:

I hate Slade for his Miss Piggy comments. And it didn’t end last season. Last night he went off again! Calling her a muppet on his lame radio show. If you are so successful and evolved, Mr. Smiley, move on. Don’t hate.

    • Itsa Reallyme says:

A gentleman, he is not! He must not understand that his statements reflect more about who he is than the person he’s directing the comments toward.

  13. JudyK says:

She got a chin implant? I was just about to ask what that lump in her chin was…guess now I know.

Er, her orange pants are unzipped in that last pic.

  14. Alana Fajina says:

I just want to know why she is always So Shiny?? Blotting powder works wonders, hun!
I do agree that her chin looks off centered to me.

  15. Lisa says:

    Preach dat, Cartman.

  16. Jacqueline says:

She’s a mess. The work she had done was BAD. I think the left side of her face (our left, her right) has some partial paralysis. She’s a big ball or crazy, with a heavy element of control-freak.
I guess at least she isn’t trying to lie to us, not like she could.

  17. Chicagogurl says:

She’s not nice and she’s blaming her face on comments made by Slade but it wasn’t new news. Many had pointed out the similarities to Miss Piggy. She pretended to take it with a grain of salt and talked about she was proud she had her dads nose, a face with features from both her parents, how her daughter looked like her and she thought her daughter was beautiful. What crap. She is however the only one in the OC who has had a solid company from prior to and during her reality career which isn’t easy.

She’s extremely needy with family, loves and friends. I think Vicki is extremely passive agreesive. She stirs the pot and then can’t understand why people are upset. She along with most of the OC ladies choose to talk more behind the back than to the face. This is why Nene is my favorite of all the housewives. She may be ridiculous but you know where you stand and she’s up front about it all.

  18. JenniferJustice says:

I just recently saw a newer episode of the RHOOC and OMG! You sure can see the work she’s had done when she’s moving, natural, and not a still photo pose. It is horrible. I can’t beleive she did that! Her chin looks like Tim Burton’s devil chin in Legend. Her eyes are freaky. Her skin is super shiny and there’s bulges and lumps in her face. It’s truly awful. I always find it assuring to see plastic surgery disasters, not b/c I get joy out of anybody’s suffering, but b/c it reinstates my opinion that it’s better to grow old gracefully than have a botched face or body. I felt the same when I saw Traci Anderson’s horrible breast implants. Never!

  19. henderswife says:

I know that Vicki has her flaws but to make fun of someone for the way they look is so wrong! It is so hard to justify that type of behavior. I’m happy for her if she is happy for herself and she seems to be just that. I have had acne problems since I was about 16 and at 32 I still have it. If people made fun of me for it I don’t know what I would do.

  20. KellyinSeattle says:

I’m worn out from everyone trying to stay young forever.

  21. jamie says:

she is a very strange looking woman! not attractive before or after the plastic surgery!

  22. peaches mcdooby says:

give me judi dench, helen mirren, vanessa redgrave over these idiots any day

    not real women, plastic robots

  23. nanster says:

The way I see it is this: if you live your life in the public eye, you are going to get all kinds of comments (good and bad) when you make a change like Vicki made. Yes, she is entitled to do what she wants with her body and we can also make comments about it.

  24. Nonan says:

Her face and neck don’t match in that first picture on the left. What happened?

  25. Laadidaa says:

Beautiful before? Haaaa you’ve got to be kidding me
