Is anyone else kind of over Dolce & Gabbana at this point? I remember when D&G used to have some really sexy, fresh designs and they seemed like a really solid design house. Nowadays, it seems like D&G has devolved into kitsch, and like they don’t even care about appealing to anyone in their 20s. So I was somewhat surprised to see that they got a really good turnout for the grand opening of the Dolce & Gabbana flagship store opening on 5th Avenue in NYC on Saturday. Gisele Bundchen, Erin Heatherton, Stacy Keibler, Chloe Sevigny, Emilia Clarke, Spike Lee and many, many more came out for the event. Isn’t that surprising?
So, let’s get into it. I want to start with Stacy Keibler just because I haven’t seen her for a month or so and we haven’t really talked about her relationship with George Clooney. Do you think there’s still a relationship to speak of? Maybe. I guess they’re making it work for now. Maybe he doesn’t want to go through the hassle of auditioning someone new for the summer at Lake Como. Stacy continues to make bad decisions about her endorsement deals though – she was just in Barcelona for a paid appearance at a BRIDAL SHOW. Bad move, girl.
Kylie Minogue has such a cute figure, I don’t get why she’s wearing this ugly little dress.
Gisele! I guess she’s in NYC ahead of the Met Gala on Monday night.
I’m sorry, I barely recognized Erin Heatherton. So, two of Leonardo’s exes were at the same event? Ha.
Emilia Clarke’s outfit is a perfect example of why Dolce & Gabbana is no longer relevant to modern fashion. Look at how poorly designed this is!!!
I don’t really understand what Chloe Sevigny is wearing UNDER her coat. Please say panties.

There are other pictures where Stacy’s make-up looks really great. Does someone remember when she started dating George Clooney and how she showed up on the red carpet? There’s definitely an improvement.

Stacy looks great. Her hair is lovely, makeup dewy and the outfit actually suits her. George and Stacy are so not together and haven’t been for months. They are just playing with everyone’s minds. Best guess is they are waiting for her new show to air it needs all the help it can get from what I have heard. What is Kylie wearing she looks awful the others look good though.

Dolce and Gabbana tailors some of the best pants (trousers) around.
I’m pretty sure they got a great turnout because they paid appearance fees and these ladies are all making a quick buck while they’re in town for the Met Ball. The Hollywood Reporter talked about how much these ‘actresses’ can be paid for this kind of stuff – lots of money. Apparently being a fashion girl is a legitimate career choice now.
Stacy looks ok and her outfit is boring, most of this outfit are ether boring or just bad.
The only time we see George and Stacy together now is when the tabloid prints some story about them breaking up, then they do a photo op together.
I think they broke up and a while ago and are only put on a front for the media. Right now they are both benefit from it Stacy gets media attention , hangs out with celebrities and fashion jobs. George shows that his relationships are real and not some contract deal like the public and media have been saying they are.
Kylie looks like she is wrapped in a towel.
I think D&G was at their height back in the days of the corset-styled strapless dresses with the floral patterns. Late 90’s I guess? And I loved the floral purses with the bamboo.

When you look at all the photos of Stacy with Anne V and other supermodels, it does show why she never made it as a model. Her body is amazing, although she’s really too thin now. But she just doesn’t have that zing or it thing going and, sadly for her, her facial structure just doesn’t work as far as modeling.
How could Stacy’s outfit possibly be trashy? She’s modestly dressed, and she looks fine/pretty. I think you could’ve come up with almost any other adjective to oppose “pretty.” “Trashy” just sounds silly when she obviously doesn’t look trashy here.
