You know how I kept saying that Casper Smart only gave Jennifer Lopez a “tweet” for her birthday? Well, Jennifer heard about it (not really) and she wants us all to know that Casper DID give her jewelry for her 44th birthday. It just wasn’t the jewelry she was hoping for, which is probably why it took a week for us to learn what Casper picked out for her. Apparently, Jennifer ordered Casper to go to one of her favorite jewelry shops, Platt Boutique, to pick out something to give her. CB and I were looking at Platt’s online catalogue – it features a lot of diamond rings, most of which would have been perfect for an engagement ring. Unfortunately, when left to his own devices, this is what Casper picks out for Jennifer:
Ew. I’m sorry, but that ring is AWFUL!! Granted, I’m not a huge yellow-gold fan, but that ring would have been terrible in platinum or white gold too. And Pratt Boutique basically came out and told People Magazine that Casper picked this crap out by himself:
What does a guy get the girl who has everything for her 44th birthday? If that girl is Jennifer Lopez (who celebrated July 24) the answer is: Jewelry, of course!
But not just any jewelry; Casper Smart knows better than that. Instead, he sought out one-of-a-kind vintage pieces from the Platt Boutique in L.A., selecting a ’70s yellow gold and diamond chain link bracelet and a ’40s gold and diamond ring, both with a coordinating buckle motif.
After being pointed to Platt Boutique by Lopez’s longtime stylists, Mariel and Rob, Smart was on a mission. “He told me he had bought her jewelry before, but never vintage,” owner Larry Platt tells PEOPLE, “so he wanted to go in a different direction, something one-of-a-kind.”
Smart clearly knew his love’s taste in baubles right off the bat. “He has a very good eye and knew what he wanted,” Platt says. “He was looking for vintage pieces that had a chic, modern feel to them. He told me that there are only two pieces of jewelry that Jennifer wears on a daily basis, so he wanted to pick pieces that he felt she would wear all the time and could go with everything.”
And he apparently nailed it: Lopez appeared to be wearing the bracelet out on a walk with Smart a few days ago. And Smart’s good taste is to credit, Platt says: “He appreciated the fact that pieces were beautifully made, from a different era and were completely unique.”
Do you think Pratt Boutique even charged him for the jewelry or did he “pay” them by allowing them to give all of this information to People Mag for free advertising? Or did Casper just say, “You know where to bill it”? If Jennifer has to pay for her own birthday present jewelry, you know she would have preferred something a little less… gaudy, I suppose.

You know, its fine being with a younger man. But Caspar is just LOOKS like a child. He isn’t even handsome or whatever. He just looks like a creepy kid. She is so womanly and pretty and he looks like he mows the lawn. The ring is tacky tack but whatever. I wouldn’t expect it not to be.

I like how her stylist pointed out the store to him. I am certain he also had a list of exactly what to get her. So tacky in every way. As others have said he is so ugly and gross and why is he always hiding her children? You never see her holding them just Casper and that girl looks miserable.

That jewelry is tacky as hell but considering just about piece she owns is tacky, it should fit right in. Since she allegeduly pays him a $10,000/month allowance, he can afford it.
Tacky jewelry from a tacky man-boy, worthy of a tackier than tacky woman. Obviously he cannot afford a pink diamond like Ben Affleck could – which coincidentally is the tackiest diamond color in the world.

I always remember the story about Jennifer loved the jewelry so much at her wedding to Marc Anthony (that were on loan) that Marc Anthony, in his love for her, bought the pieces for her to have.
