Michelle Obama wants to help Justin Bieber: ‘I would pull him close’

Michelle Obama

This will sound cynical, but I think Justin Bieber is past the point of redemption. He won’t change his ways until the money runs out and he hits rock bottom. Then maybe he’ll claw his way to the surface. Sadly, I think we’re going to find out what happens after that in the next few years.

Michelle Obama has been asked for her take on raising a nightmare child like Biebs. She was asked this question out of the blue, which sucks for her. She’s FLOTUS, and people are asking her about Justin Bieber. Michelle would recommend a big hug for Bieber. She did what she could with a question that leads nowhere, and she means well. Much of the time, a parent’s wordless guidance can bring about a positive change. In the Bieber family, all one will really get is Xanax from mommy and a shared joint with daddy. I don’t think a hug would do anything for the Biebs. Maybe earlier in life it would have helped, but swaggy adult thinks he doesn’t need any help. Here’s Michelle’s take in full:

What would first lady Michelle Obama, a mother of two girls, do if she also had a son — or more to the point, a 19-year old international pop star with a penchant for fast cars, private jets and alcohol named Justin Bieber?

“I would pull him close. You know, I don’t know if it would be advice as much as action,” Obama said in a recent interview with Univision Radio host Enrique Santos. “I would be very present in his life right now. And I would be probably with him a good chunk of the time, just there to talk, to figure out what’s going on in his head, to figure out who’s in his life and who’s not, you know.”

“I found that to be the case with my kids,” she said. “They just want you near, you know — they want that advice from a parent. They want to see you on a daily basis, you know, because the thing is he’s still a kid. He’s still growing up. So, I would pull him close.”

[From ABC News]

On the topic of Washington DC, the White House is due to soon release a statement for the petition to deport Bieber. Press Secretary Jay Carney says, “That response will come I’m sure relatively soon,” but don’t hold your breath. The Biebs will not be deported. Not even because TMZ got ahold of GPS stats that say Bieber was speeding up to 136 mph a few hours before his Miami Beach arrest.

One more minor Bieber story: Some budding pop singer/ballerina (bendy) named Katherine Gozda claims she and Bieber have been secretly dating and are discussing having children and getting married. She posted a photo of him sleeping, but we all know from experience that Bieber has been caught snoozing by “ladies” before. Next?

I won’t side-eye anyone for being compassionate but the First Lady should talk to bff Oprah about how that whole Lohan thing is working out.

  2. Tracy says:

I try to muster up sympathy for this one but I just can’t, he is just too big of a douche.

  3. QQ says:

Too bad HIS parents aint about to man up and get this little asshole together

P.S: those girls are so so gorgeous

  4. Red32 says:

Well, as FLOTUS, she can’t really recommend slapping sense into a Canadian citizen. She had to give a nice, neutral answer.

  5. eliza says:

Why oh why does anyone care about this rich kid’s well being? There are people we should care about, Bieber not being one of them.

    • bettyrose says:

I doubt she cares but I’m glad her people prepped her for the question so she wasn’t all “who?”

Just want to say (and this is not defending Justin in any way but more putting TMZ down) that while that was the car Justin was driving later in the early morning, TMZ has NO proof that it was Justin driving the car at the high speed, just the report. Unfortunately, whomever was driving the car at that speed cannot be prosecuted because you don’t know who was driving. I also get MO’s comments. My children are in their 30’s and they know I am there no matter what. They feel very comfortable calling anytime of day or night if they need me. So in that respect, she is right. Justin’s parents need to be there but not as his buddies but as parents. That does not excuse his behavior as he should know what is right and wrong. My four year old grandsons know better.

  7. Jacqueline says:

She should have just declined to answer. Claim you don’t know enough about the situation to comment, or something. At least pretend to be too busy to be familiar with it, for heaven’s sake.

    • Evyn says:

How can she NOT be aware of him? The little turd is all over the news. If she said she knew nothing about him, SOME PEOPLE would be bashing her for not watching the news or reading the papers.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I agree, Jacqueline. She should have said, “I don’t think it’s appropriate for me to comment on his personal life,” or something of that nature, because she the First Lady, and it ISN’T appropriate for her to be commenting on Justin Bieber. I like her, but she handled that badly. Just because some moron asks you a ridiculous question doesn’t mean you have to answer it.

  8. feebee says:

It was a pretty good answer. She’s basically saying she’d be watching him closely, staying with him, talking to him about the decisions he’s making. Of course if she was really in his parents shoes these would have been things she would have done 3 and 4 years ago and had the ability to have some control over the decisions. Now he’s 19 (?) and it’s a different situation. No longer a boy, definitely not a man.

  9. huna says:

The online blogs are exploding because of the Barack-Beyonce affair story.Michelle must take care of other stuff first.

    • mytbean says:

It’s just a repeat of Monroe and Kennedy. Not that shocking to me, even if it were true.

      • huna says:

It’s different because Monroe and Beyonce dont have the same public image. It was known that Marilyn sh*gged most of the breathing creatures in Hollywood, but Beyonce is supposed to be a perfect family -friendly role model.

    • Gracie says:

That whole story is bogus and tired fanfic. Beyonce is just so asexual even though she tries her hardest to be some sort of vixen.

      • huna says:

This is not some random guy.The photographer /journalist/paparazzi is a good friend of Carla Bruni and he exposed Hollande as well. And this is getting published tomorrow on Huffington Post.

      • jaye says:

@huna…I don’t think the story is true at all. The initial report said that the New York Times was going to break the story tomorrow, and now it’s HuffPo? Gimme a break.

  10. dizzylucy says:

I guess she answered as best she could. I’d like to know why someone wasted her time with such a crap question to begin with.

  11. Izzy says:

OK. Just don’t inhale. You might get a secondhand high.

  12. Elizabeth says:

I’d pull him close, too. Then smack his face.

  13. Justaposter says:

it seems like a silly question to ask her. How on earth was she supposed to answer that?
We all know what she really thought, she wouldn’t and couldn’t say..

I’m not their biggest fan, and totally give her a pass on this question. Because really? What the heck was she supposed to say in the public forum?

I hope in private she bitched a blue streak about this stupid question.

  14. TheOneandOnlyOnly says:

Yes dizzylucy who is the idiot reporter that even broached this subject to the First Lady of the US. She would’ve perplexed them all if she answered she doesn’t listen to soulless corporate commercial plastic disposable pop music. I listen to Aretha and Ella, Otis and Smokey.

  15. Dirty Martini says:

Dumb question. It took me a long time to realize that every question I am asked doesn’t deserve an answer.

For her to even bothering to try is a no win because a) its makes it sound like the white house has a position of some type on this brat and b) it implies that there is something to be done as a mother that his isn’t doing.

How about a nice neutral “I wish him and his family nothing but the best and a happy and healthy 2014. Speaking of health in 2014, I’m looking forward to expanding the childhood obesity education into blah blah blah”.

  16. Jax says:

Who cares what FLOTUS would do? Why ask the question. Sheesh! And on a different note, the woman has the face of a shrimp! Yuk.

  17. yo vinny says:

Hello. new guy here. The Biebs has become an issue for the White House as 100,000 U.S. citizens have signed a petition saying he is a problem – making it a subject that must be addressed. Maybe this is part of the solution? I hope Michelle Obama can set this kid straight. (From Canada, don’t want him back as is.)
    Best.
