We last spoke about Jessica Chastain during the Cannes Film Festival, where I honestly thought she was one of the best-dressed ladies of the festival. Shocking! I really like Jessica but bless her heart, she usually gets at least one thing wrong on every red carpet, whether it’s an ill-fitting dress or a bad color or terrible hair, you get the idea. But she looked pretty fantastic during Cannes – the violet Elie Saab was one of my favorite looks ever on her, and I think she’s gotten a better hair stylist too. I had high hopes that Jessica was finally over the last styling hurdles and that everything was going to be amaze-balls from here on out.
And then these bangs happened. Nooooo!!! Honestly though, they’re not that bad. That was difficult to say because you know how bangs-phobic I am. But these are far from “bangs trauma.” They’re a decent length, they don’t look too thick, and if she has second thoughts, it won’t take her too long to grow them out.
Jessica posted the header photo on her Instagram, and the Renato Campora IG posted the photos below. Jessica wrote: “Someone got a haircut courtesy of @renatocampora #hair #genius #brigittebardot #60s #fashion #iloveitsomuch.” Er… Brigitte Bardot? Jessica Chastain? Not really. More like Ann-Margret. Which is not bad at all.

Lol. I saw that Adam Sandler movie and I thought that girl playing one of his daughters was Jessica. It turns out, it was Bella Thorne. So yeah, they could pass up as twins / sisters.
I think that she deserves kudos for mixing up her look. The bangs make her look younger and a tad more stylish and interesting. She seems like a nice person but she gives off borings-ville energy…

As someone who has to have the bangs to balance out an oddly shaped face/head (I’ve got decent self-esteem but I’m realistic!!), I will NEVER understand gorgeous woman who get bangs. Never! Don’t hide the pretty!! (Plus she looks like a Ginger Blake Lively in that last photo).

Not true, any curly girl will tell you = bangs trauma! Even when my hair was straight they didn’t suit me either at ALL. And I love them so on other people….not fair wah. Jessica’s look really pretty and they do give her a softer look.
Agree with Mrs. Darcy. I had bangs at one point in my life and I have very curly very fine hair. MAJOR UPKEEP and my hair had to be straight or I’d look like a washed up Shirley Temple. When my hair was done, it looked nice but just the annoyance of having to do it everyday made me grow them out.

Agree. She has really strong features and bangs give her some warmth. They suit her. I don’t really get the bangs hate here. Some women really rock them. I had them for years and always loved them.

she’s just as beautiful as always! I don’t get the bangs-hate. They’re not for everyone, sure, and I have seen many horrendous attempts. But! It’s not logical to just assume that switching to bangs will be a makeunder. Personally, I love bangs and I think I look really good in them. The only problem is getting the hairdresser to actually do a decent job and work with the right lenght/ thickness/ style that suits your face. It’s very tricky.

To me the header pic looks like Sandra Bullock with red hair. But you are right- there is also an Angie vibe.

I love Jessica Chastain’s bangs, it makes her face look softer and youthful looking. I think she is a beautiful actress and I hope for her many award best for her future. Besides at least she didn’t cut the hair. That would be a total disaster .

Yeah. But given the ageism in Hollywood or the film/fashion industry in general it’s not surprising. Agness Deyn also lied about her age and with good reason. It’s the same reason why models lie about their height.
