Lee Pace might be on the verge on next-level stardom: would you hit it?

123595PCN_Lee02

I included some Lee Pace photos in the Comic-Con coverage a few days ago, and I was pleased to see that there are some Pace-loonies out there. He is really, really good looking. And he’s been on the verge of “next level” stardom for a while. Some people know him from Pushing Daisies, a network TV show that was canceled after two seasons five years ago. Some people (me!) know him from Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, which is a great (and underrated) movie. Some people know him from his other various film and TV roles, like Halt and Catch Fire, The Hobbit movies, Breaking Dawn Part II, and now Guardians of the Galaxy. He’s worked consistently over the past decade, sometimes in lead roles but mostly in supporting parts.

Anyway, these are some photos of Lee at last night’s screening of Guardians of the Galaxy. He looks really, really hot. How have I not gotten on the Lee Pace Train before now? I mean, I always knew who he was and I always found him attractive? I guess I didn’t get a chance to be into him in a major way because he rarely gets photographed. He just has about a million projets out this year. The Year of Pace!!! Oh, and there was some question about his height – he’s 6’3”. Nearly as tall as Tom Hiddleston, right?

Here’s Lee on Late Night with Seth Meyers last night:

I doubt it. He’s been “on the verge” for like 15 years now.

  2. MollyB says:

Love, love, love Lee Pace. Why are all the good ones gay?!?!?!

  3. lily says:

If I may start this off, he doesn’t look his best in these photos. But he is so handsome and has a ton of charisma.
As a history buff, this guy ruined “Lincoln” for me. How could I focus with Lee Pace walking and breathing ? Heard that voice, and I was sunk.

  4. Kali says:

Oh god, “Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day” wrecked me for days. Such a good movie.

But yes. Lee Pace. Yes. YES. YUSSSSSSS!!!

  5. Froop says:

Absolutely would yes. Even though his look is not the best here.

  6. doofus says:

over and over again, like a screen door in the wind.

he’s amazing on Halt and Catch Fire. His character is creepy and hot at the same time and his acting is superb.

    • ArtHistorian says:

He was wonderful in The Fall by Tarsem Sing, which is a movie that is awesome on so many levels but sadly underrated.

      • Loveisthecoal says:

The Fall is one of my favorite films. So stunningly beautiful…and that music!

To answer the question: yes, I would hit it. I would climb him like a tree.

      • Amelia says:

The Fall makes me cry EVERY time. Such a gorgeous film.
I adored Pushing Daisies, and I’ve just started binge watching Halt and Catch Fire. I had no idea Cameron was the girl from Breathe In!!
But, in short – YES. I would hit it, and I would hit it HARD.
I think I’m going to have to keep him.

    • FlowerintheAttic says:

I watched The Fall for the first time this week. I sobbed. Completely sobbed. What a beautiful story. The scenes in the movie are breath taking. SEE IT.

on that note….I’d hit it so hard I’d get saddle sore. Yum.

  7. Wilma says:

    No to the hair.
Is he officially out by the way?

  8. T.Fanty says:

    *shugs*

Sure, why not. I would. The eyebrows get better the closer up you get. From a distance, they look like someone put them on with a whiteboard marker.

    • j.eyre says:

Well I say your indifference disqualifies you so I shall be hitting Mr. Pace today and you can go back to manicuring your garden or some such nonsense.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Ahem, you may have what is left of him when I have finished. Until then, you may want to help her with that nonsense in the garden. Or entertain my bodyguard Mark Strong for me.

      • j.eyre says:

Hmmm, having not had my second martini yet, I fear the fight just isn’t in me so you are welcome to Mr. Pace for now. I will still be requiring Mr. Strong’s talents, however.

For future reference, mes chers fleurs de lilas, I don’t sully my hands in the garden, only the stables.

  9. Wallamalooo says:

YUM!! His voice is just….sigh…. and yay that someone else knows Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day – I LOVE that movie!! (And everyone in it!)

  10. Ivy says:

Isn’t he dating Richard Armitage? I would know what to do with both of them… ^.^

    • 'P'enny says:

I’m really not buying that rumour, Richard Armitage had had a few girlfriends and been around years in the UK and no one had gossip about him being gay before the Hobbit. not that I remember and I’ve been following him since Spooks, North and South and the only thing worth watching the BBC Robin Hood.

This rumour started because Ian McKellan was being naughty and winding the press up about half the cast of the Hobbit being the closet. And, DL has been adding fuel to it.

However, if Richard and Luke are together, I hope Benny [in salmon trousers] officiates the wedding and I get an invite. It would be brilliant. the Hello photos would be amazing.

      • Ivy says:

The rumours have been around since… Forever?
There are no proofs really that he’s gay or straight. I can remember one girlfriend? I mean one that he took at a premiere or something.
It’s just the fact that we don’t know for sure that makes everybody suspicious. That and the pictures of Richard and Lee in vacations with Lee’s family.
If they are a couple good for them. I don’t care. In my dreams they both adore me!

      • M.A.F. says:

Some fans have been using as their proof a variety of photos of the two wearing the exact same article of clothing, as if they are sharing clothes. Then there are the photos of Richard w/Lee ‘s family that some a-hole got off one of their family members Facebook page.

Some are really trying to make these two a thing.

      • San says:

If people remember the original Rings trilogy, all this is too familiar. Shippers pickign actors they like the look of together, twisting everything from body language to clothes and posting “evidence” and running around the internet to spread the craziness. I’m surprised this bunch don’t have a better “database” like the oldtimer shippers did.

      • M.A.F. says:

Yes, I remember the LOTR days quite well. The biggest shipping (I hate that term) was between Elijah & Dominic.

  11. Ciria says:

He was in this great movie called The Fall which I would recommend everyone to watch. Really beautiful movie.

  12. Guest says:

Love him in Halt and Catch Fire! Didn’t know who he was!!

    • Francis says:

Yes, he’s so good in Halt and Catch fire. He’s sexy, sort of young Don Draperesque.

  13. eliza says:

    Nope. Nope and Nope.

  14. Lili says:

I’m almost sure he’s 6ft 4, looking at his pics from San Diego Comic Con. Lee has to be the most beautiful actor alive. It’s not just about his facial features, it’s his charm and charisma as well. Also, he’s very kind and nice. Gorgeous inside and out.

  15. Neelyo says:

I thought he was wonderful in SOLDIER’S GIRL with Troy Garity. There’s one I thought would ‘happen’. Garity (sp.) is Jane Fonda’s son , beautiful and gave a good performance. Most Hollywood progeny can barely act at all so i can only surmise Garity decided he didn’t want it. It’s a shame too.

    • M.A.F. says:

I’ve seen clips from that film but not the whole thing. It looks good.

    • Boxy Lady says:

Soldier’s Girl was the first thing I saw Lee Pace in, so every time I see him, I still picture him as a woman for the first few seconds. 🙂
@M.A.F. Lee, Troy Garity, and Shawn Hatosy were so good in the movie and it’s a sad and affecting tale. I highly recommend that you watch the whole thing.

  16. Samantha says:

THAT VOICE. I did fall in love with him in Miss Pettigrew, but also in Wonderfalls! And then Pushing Daisies…

Would love for him to see “real” stardom.

    • Dara says:

Oh, I’d forgotten about Wonderfalls! Such a good show, it was really ahead of its time. Miss Pettigrew was a really enjoyable movie – first time I noticed Amy Adams as an actress and Frances was, as usual, amazing.

  17. Annika says:

Gurl, I’ve been riding the Pace train for a looking time already 😉

  18. Gina says:

Love Love Love Lee Pace!!!! More of him!

  19. M.A.F. says:

    Yes I would hit it.

  20. lucy2 says:

I’ve seen him in several things, but Pushing Daisies remains my favorite. I’m still so depressed that got cancelled. It was so unique and gorgeous to look at. Bryan Fuller makes some visually beautiful shows.

  21. Coco says:

Oh. My. Goodness. Lee Pace is on track to become my new favorite, surpassing Alexander Skarsgard (I like them tall)! He is incredibly good looking and charming and I dig that he is private and we don’t know much about his life. It allows him to slip in and out of his roles with ease. And I love that we are in a time when gay rumors don’t seem to be hurting his sex appeal or ability to secure some brilliant roles. Because let’s face it, I’m never going to bang Lee Pace, so I don’t care whether he is gay or straight irl but damn, he is hot. And no, these pics do not do him justice!

  22. inquire-within says:

He’s a beautiful human being, inside and out. The way he interacted with fans at Comic Con was incredible. He’s very attractive but he rarely plays that card to get attention. He’s not on tabloids, he actually dislikes publicity. Maybe that hurt his career, I don’t know, but kudos for staying true to himself!

  23. Melymori says:

He is on Guardians of the Galaxy? wow I didn’t know…hard to believe he’s on the “verge” to be honest.

  24. Tulip says:

I’ve loved him since the – unfortunately – short-lived Wonderfalls. He’s a fantastic actor and I really wish him all the success he deserves.

  25. Kelly says:

I think he went to the same school as Jim Parsons and Matt Bomer – same ISD as me! I’d like to think if I passed by him at a football game, I would have remembered. I’ve loved him since Miss Pettigrew, too

  26. Hayley says:

LOVE him. But I don’t believe he’s on the brink of stardom, I think he will always be one of those low-key actors. He doesn’t do a lot of interviews and when he does, he will not talk about anything even remotely personal (like whether or not he’s actually gay; some people are acting like he’s totally out but he’s totally not because he subscribes to the same notions as Zachary “my favorite ice cream flavour is WAY too personal” Quinto, although Quinto did eventually come out). It’s hard to break out as a really big star if you don’t play the Hollywood game and Lee Pace has never shown any desire to play it. It’s sad, though, since his talent warrants him being a much bigger star than he is.

    • bella says:

well said, Hayley and I really like this guy exactly because he’s so low-key.
He’s talented and handsome but he doesn’t ‘sells’ himself in every event that happens everywhere.
Richard does the same thing: I read an interview where he said that he thinks his work ‘sells’ his image. He doesn’t need ( and he doesn’t want) to go to meetings to get the attention of media. I already loved him but after this article, I began to love him even more. He’s incredible in Crucible and I really would love to go to London and see him at the stage.
These two men are true actors, concerned with doing their job well and not to be seen at any cost. We need more actors like them: that act normally and not as “celebrities”.
Justo to vent, I’m sick of some actors who think they are above everything and everyone just because get a little bit of fame with crap movies.

    • M.A.F. says:

Yeah but one shouldn’t have to sell their soul to make in Hollywood. If the reason for him not being huge is because he doesn’t want to talk about his private life than that says more about society/Hollywood than him.

      • Hayley says:

Oh totally! He shouldn’t have to put his life out there, and make sure to pap’ed regularly and all the other bullshit you apparently have to do these days to be a big star. But it does seem that an actor has to do those things to reach those higher levels of stardom now and it sucks that talented people like Lee may not get there because of it.

  27. Kate2 says:

I hopped on the LP train just recently, so I hadn’t heard gay rumors. He’s super hot though so he’ll be straight in my fantasies.

    Maybe he’s bi?

  28. Alyce says:

Yes, I love The Pie Maker! I wish they’d bring that show back!

  29. gooner says:

I’d never heard of him until I saw Lincoln. He was really intriguing in his (few) scenes that I actually sat up and thought”Whoa, who’s this guy?” In a movie chock full of great performances, he was a standout for me (after DDL, of course :))

    • Lilacflowers says:

And he did not share any scenes with DDL so there was no need to divide attention

  30. Arhodo says:

    Not with that hair!

  31. Tania says:

I love Lee Pace!! I would hit that HARD!! Every day, all day long like it was my job.

    • tygerstripes says:

“I would hit that HARD!! Every day, all day long like it was my job.”
My fave comment here. I’m going to memorize it and use it the rest of my life. 8^)

  32. Kori says:

He’s a little young for me but my 19 year old is fresh on the Lee Pace train between The Hobbitt and Halt and Catch Fire. Actually, she’s in love with half the guys Celebitchy regularly covers especially the Brits. I always tell her I know I’m going to end up with a tall, pale, floppy haired Brit for a son-in-law because that’s her most favorite type. 🙂

  33. Jessica says:

He’s a good actor and I loved Pushing Daisies, but I don’t find him at all attractive. The eyebrows and that mouth? No. And I really hate his character on Halt and Catch Fire. I watch that show for Scoot McNairy and the great music.

  34. Altariel says:

He’s actually taller than Hiddles. Lee and Chris Hemsworth are 6’3” and Tom is 6’2″. But Tom always appears to be so very tall…the long lanky thing, I guess.

  35. SLH77 says:

I loved him even in Wonderfalls!!!

  36. tygerstripes says:

GAY?! Awwww nuts. Of course he’s gay. Because he’s been my celebrity crush for years now and I have NO gaydar. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Rien. Absolutely NONE.
    Dammit.

    • Dara says:

Don’t worry @tyger – you’re in good company. Amy Adams was so distracted by his masculine hotness when they worked together that their director asked Lee to leave the set so Amy could concentrate during a scene.

And don’t let a little thing like an inconvenient sexual orientation diminish your crush. Heck, if I had to exclude celebs from my crush list based on orientation (Lee, Kevin Spacey and probably so many others), age appropriate-ness (Ian McKellan, Aaron Taylor-Johnson), gender (Angelina Jolie, Helen Mirren) or detectable heartbeat (Cary Grant so needs to call me!) I don’t think there would be anyone left.

  37. Hannah says:

Miss Pettigew Lives for a Day is AMAZING. Honestly, perfect. 🙂 But you forgot Lee’s most beautiful, and most underrated movie of all! Check it out, if you’ve never seen it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iO0LYcCoeJY
