I actually believe that Taylor Swift and Katie Holmes became friends during the production of The Giver. They seem to have similar personalities, and they reportedly hung out together quite a bit during filming. It also sounds reasonable that Taylor would want to set up her new friend. Taylor has reportedly done that with other girlfriends too, including Selena Gomez (some said Taylor was on a mission to get Selena away from Justin Bieber). But Taylor has terrible taste in men and she sucks as a matchmaker. Which is why I believe this story completely:
Just because Taylor Swift is single doesn’t mean her friends should be! After bonding on the set of The Giver, sources say Swift is playing matchmaker for new BFF Katie Holmes.
“Taylor is obsessed with finding the perfect guy for Katie,” whispered a close pal. “She teases her about setting her up with a cute younger guy who will rock her world!”
The top of Taylor’s list? Kellan Lutz, Liam Hemsworth, Robert Pattinson and country singer Kip Moore.
“Katie’s 35 and not so sure about dating a younger man, but Taylor’s totally pressuring her into it, telling her it’s exactly what she needs right now,” says the source, who adds that despite Taylor’s own shoddy dating history, she loves to connect people.
“Taylor won’t let it go. She’s on a mission!”

KELLAN LUTZ. Taylor Swift wants to put Katie Holmes and KELLAN LUTZ together. My God. That would be gold. As for the other names… weird, right? You would think that Tay-Tay would be more interested in keeping Sparkles and Liam Hemsworth for herself. I could see Taylor with a Hemsworth, but not Katie. But I could totally see Katie Holmes as a country singer’s wife. Couldn’t you? But let’s be real here: Kellan Lutz is as good as it gets. You will never be able to find a match more perfect than that.
(PS… Considering how undercover Holmes has been over the past year or so, I kind of wonder if she’s quietly dating someone NOT in the industry. Like, I could see her with a lawyer or some kind of normal non-celebrity. But they will fall away once she meets Kellan Lutz.)

You can date as many people as you want that’s why it’s called DATING and not a realtionship.
Not buying it. First of all, it’s Star. Second, while I can buy that Taylor and Katie are friendly, I don’t see them being friends. Taylor’s notably young for her age and seems to get along best with women in their late teens and early 20s. I don’t think she’d have that much in common with a divorced mother in her mid-30s. Third, while Taylor Swift is the go to for a story about a woman behaving irrationally around men, it’s pretty clear that she’s trying to get away from the lovelorn teenager image and present herself as every girl’s crafty, cat-loving bestie. She’s pretty calculating, and I don’t see her disrupting that image rehab attempt with a silly attempted hookup for a woman she’s only recently met.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Katie was already quietly dating someone as well. She’s made her money and I think she’s become disillusioned with being a paparazzi target, and I can see it being more her style to date a guy who’s in business of some type. Her father is a big shot divorce lawyer, so that world isn’t completely foreign to her.
