The ladies of Masters of Sex brought the drama at last night’s Emmys. Even though a few of them weren’t even there representing MoS, it’s no matter. Let’s start with Lizzy Caplan’s big debut as an Emmy nominee in this DRAMATIC black and white Donna Karan. I didn’t see much of Lizzy on the red carpet, nor did they cut to her very much during the show, which is too bad because I love her dress and I liked her whole vibe. Was the whole look great? Eh. Too much eye makeup and her hair could have been better, but all in all… I like this a lot.
Allison Janney is everything, all the time. Allison walked away with two Emmys last night, one for Masters of Sex and one for that CBS comedy. She now has six Emmys overall. And she loves it. She loves working in television, she loves bringing it and having fun. She’s amazing. Her velvet Nicholas Jebran gown was rather wintery for an August awards show, but whatever. She’s fabulous.
Sarah Silverman in Marni. I usually don’t like Silverman that much and I really dislike her in the Season 2 of MoS (she’s woefully miscast). But she looked okay. I mean, the dress wasn’t awful (just wrinkled) and she was having fun. Her run to the stage when she won was really cute.
Keke Palmer brought it!! Keke was going to the Emmys so she got herself the most glamorous dress ever! Her gown was by Rubin Singer – this is a gorgeous color and a great cut. She looks fab!

Exactly! When she moved you could see behind the “horns” and it was a foot away from her breasts. Weird.

Allison and Sarah’s both looked so much better on TV than in photos. Allison Janney is a treasure – I love that she was a double winner, but hate that so much of her time is spent stuck in a Chuck Lorre CBS sitcom.

I thought Sarah’s run was so funny but I was scared she was going to fall. I heard her mention Michael but what exactly did she say about him in her speech?
I haven’t watched MOS yet but do other people like her in it?
She said “Mr. Fancy Pants” or something.
I’m not of fan of her in MoS. It really comes across like people just made a role for her. Not that the role would improve the show. Maybe better casting would have helped, but it seems liike her character was last minute to cater to the leads rl gf.
Overall, I think MoS has really drifted away from the stoyline into over complicated soap opera territory. Too bad. Was a great show.
Was she his girlfriend first, or on the show first? I really thought her boobs were going to pop out when she ran up there. Still think they’re a strange couple.
She called him her love. It actually made me want to vomit, but I think it’s because I particularly despise her for some inexplicable reason.
I feel like ever since she got with Michael Sheen, she’s been trying to become part of the Establishment. Like before she got with him, she was that chick who was on Jimmy Kimmel (or some other talk show) in a tshirt and jeans–not a nice little cocktail dress, jewelry, noticeable makeup, etc.
But now I’m just reminded of her and Michael Sheen’s first rc as a couple (I think)..where she had the ball gown on, her hair was pulled back tightly, she had a face full of makeup on….she looked GREAT…but she just felt like the complete antithesis of the way that she had portrayed herself to be (At least to me). And it was the posing that really did me in. It wasn’t like she was trying to look nice at her boyfriend’s premiere (or wherever they were)….she looked like a Trophy Barbie Wife.

Sarah Silverman was my favorite last night. She looked smashing.
Keke and the blue are beautiful but I don’t like the fishtail. Love Lizzy’s dress but hated her hair and makeup. Sarah’s hair and makeup, on the other hand, looked fabulous but the dress was blah (although I loved the run). Allison Janey is the most awesome thing ever, even though I’m not crazy about her dress.
Lizzy was cute when they cut to her for her nomination – too bad she didn’t win. I like the cut of her dress – she looks great.
Allison Janney came dressed to win. The color, the blow-out, her make-up – she looks great and she deserved her awards. I love her – she’s smart, funny and a real class act.
Sarah S – maybe she looks so wrinkled bc she was out back vaping before her award? Did you see the clutch cam (or whatever they call it?) She whipped out her stick. I love that non-drinkers are finally allowed to imbibe in their own special way ; )
The blue dress is amazing. Silverman’s was too wrinkled, but even without that I thought the style and styling werepretty terrible. It makes her look boxy.
I do love Keke Palmer. I grew up watching her movies (Akeelah and the Bee, that Disney show she hadetc)….so it’s kind of odd to see her continue on, and actually get do more than the usual Disney star rotation, which is try and take off your clothes as soon as your contract expires. I think that she’ll be working for many, many years to come….she certainly has the ethic. And I’ve never heard anything bad about her, no ‘scandals’ or anything like that.
And I love her dress….I think I’d be too pale for it though. Certainly wouldn’t look like Snow White or anything…
ALLISON!!!!!!!!!!!! She’s the Boss, and she looks so freaking beautiful – lover her, love the dress (how is it she’s not a HUGE movie star? She has the whole package!)

Lizzy’s gown is fabulous. It’s the perfect dress for her.
I felt like there was no love given to Lizzy Caplan last night! SHE LOOKED FABULOUS FROM HEAD TO TOE! She was elegant and beautiful! There were no interviews, no shots of her during the show with the exception of her category…just no love. I was very disappointed but loved her!
Sarah Silverman looked gorgeous. (I keep reading that she was pretty high at the awards ceremony).

“Masters of Sex” is my favorite show right now. I didn’t find it il recently – I never dreamt it was going to be as good as it is.
