It seems that Jessica Simpson is no longer being controlled like a busty marionette by her father. Joe Simpson, known for his heavy involvement in his daughter’s careers and inappropriate comments about Jessica’s D-cup boobs, supposedly wants her to break up with Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
“Joe now feels that Tony has become too much of a distraction for Jessica. Any free time she has, Jess wants to spend with Tony. But rather than blaming his daughter’s work ethic, Joe points the finger at Tony. He wants Tony out of her life, but Jessica loves him and won’t even consider leaving him at this point,” claims an insider.
The source adds that Jessica is not listening to her father, and instead is trying to get Romo to settle down with her. “Her main concern is getting Tony to settle down and commit,” says the source, who adds that Simpson was to get married and start a family soon.

It’s not surprising that Jessica wants to get married and have babies with Tony Romo. However, I can see how Joe Simpson might be concerned about his meal ticket. Jess isn’t exactly packing in the crowds, and her country music has generated an underwhelming response. The most press she’s had lately is for her unfortunate taste in mom jeans, but that isn’t likely to sell many records. Maybe Joe should push Jess to spend lots of time with Tony. A marriage and a baby can generate interest in her and could help sell some products, whether that be in the form of music, shoes, or tabloid covers.
Jess is reportedly taking on golf lessons in order to spend even more time with Tony Romo. She’s just finished her tour in support of her country music album, but while she’s back in the Daisy Duke pants (is this look tired yet?) she didn’t know all the words to her songs at a recent concert. Perhaps a refreshing break is in order.

It’s smart of her to finally stop listening to Papa Joe. Her career went into the toilet when she destroyed her marriage because Papa Joe convinced her that she was too famous and too good for her ‘undeserving’ husband.
If her father were a REAL manager, he’d focus on her problems – like limited talent, spending issues, and overblown self importance fantasies – and stop minding her relationship business.
Poor Jessica.
It is a pity to see how low she’s fallen after having had such a promising start.
First she lost all of her mystique with that awful show ‘Newlyweds’, where she managed to make Nick Lachey look intelligent and classy by comparison. Then she lost her voice, the very little dignity she had left and well… Here she is now!
I wish that someone would truly show how much they care about her (it certainly won’t be her father), by forcing her to take some singing lessons to regain her voice, send her to therapy and make her concentrate on being something other than a laughing stock.

I seriously hope this girl just gets married off soon. She can’t sing, won’t rehearse enough to even remember the words, and is only what my mother would have described as “boy crazy”. She should’ve stuck with Nick, but her dad got in the way too much there. Romo, being a quarterback and all that, is enough of a man to rebuff Joe Simpson clear back to lame-town. J. Simp’s only hope is to marry, or even just live with, Romo. She can just make money off her shoe line (which is way cute) and forget about the singing. PLEASE!
I don’t know why Iwas thinkig about this biatch yesterday, but I was. I was wondering to myself why she still performs ( she must really like it, I concluded) as she has millions in the bank. Certainly enough to go and live on for her ever.
Then I picture fifteen to twenty years from now, and Jessica is broke, bloated, alone and taking refuge from her sister who has had the stable marriage, financial securtity and a busload of kids, she’s regular Kennedy!!! LOl.

I’m not sure why, but for some reason, I like her. Sure, she’s dumb as a rock, but she seems nice and almost real.
