I never did a follow-up on last week’s Tom Brady/Deflategate stuff because nothing really happened. Both sides (Brady/union versus Roger Goodell/NFL) are still in talks and negotiations. The federal judge really wants the two sides to work everything out behind the scenes and everyone is taking their sweet time about it. Meanwhile, Brady has also been “under fire” in the gossip media because of rumors about his marriage to Gisele Bundchen. Following Gisele’s alleged (!!) burqa-wearing plastic surgery in Paris several weeks ago, there were widespread tabloid reports about Gisele and Tom’s struggling marriage. Now it seems pro-Brady “sources” have turned to People Magazine to clear the air – go here to read the full People Magazine piece. Some highlights:
Is there tension in the marriage? “There have been a lot of stresses in their marriage in the last year, especially during football season,” says a source close to Brady, adding that he can be “nasty and cold” when engrossed in his own problems. “Tom is singularly focused on his career and sometimes Gisele feels left out. There have been arguments.” Another source says Brady is “moody.”
Gisele & Tom are spending time apart: They didn’t celebrate their summer birthdays like they usually do and Gisele didn’t go to court with Brady.
But everything is fine, sources claim: “This summer was just a bit different,” explains a source close to the model. “Gisele had a lot going on, so they weren’t always in the same place at the same time.”
Another WAG speaks: “They have a good relationship,” says Cherynne Montanero, girlfriend of Patriots player Danny Amendola. “They seem to have found the balance of having a family and then having a career.” They “absolutely” make a good couple, she adds.
Other sources also deny any reports of strife. “They’re living their life, and they’re doing great,” says a source close to Bündchen. “They didn’t spend his birthday together because he was in training camp.”
One source says words about Ben Affleck’s nanny wearing Brady’s rings: “That was utterly random. It was just a weird place, weird time situation.”
A Gisele source says Gisele is totally supportive: “The biggest challenge they’ve been facing is dealing with the stress of the Deflategate situation. She’s being a supportive wife, just like anybody whose husband would be going through something like this. They’re surprisingly pretty simple people and very down to earth. Family is first on all fronts.”
People used this story as an excuse to retell the Batfleck-nanny thing AND the fact that Gisele was off wearing a burqa in Paris ahead of her plastic surgery while Brady was dealing with Deflategate drama. It’s kind of funny. I can’t really tell where People Magazine comes down with this – like, they still carry water for the Brady-Bundchen clan and repeatedly state that everything is fine, but People isn’t above making a few hits on both Gisele and Tom. It’s interesting.

To start, can I just say that they both have the weirdest Barbie-doll plastic faces? I don’t know what it is about them that makes something about their faces seem really insincere. They always look like wax figures, I wonder why that is. I actually believe that their marriage isn’t in danger. I don’t think (unless something seriously happened) That they would separate or whatever. They spend a lot of time in mags and interviews defending their marriage. I mean A LOT of time.
I don’t find her face all that beautiful, but it’s very interesting.
He just looks so, I don’t know, dumb-ish? Granted, I’m European so I don’t know anything about the guy apart that he’s Mr Gisele.

I agree. They’re both physically good looking people, but there’s something about them that does not make them attractive to me. I don’t even find them to be a hot couple. They both look more like “high maintenance” than “hot, sexy, fun times”. Not that they have to look like that. I’m glad they’ve found each other. I’m sure their marriage works for them.
Law suits are extremely stressful and take a toll on the people involved.
Agree, and burqa-gate probably didn’t help. Every marriage goes through periods of strain.

The winner out of all this is Bridget Moynihan, who has gone on to have a wonderful relationship with that clever McG man.
He pulled the douche move of questioning the baby’s paternity in public.
That should have been a private matter between him and the mother of the baby.
I think they are a beautiful couple. And every marriage has its stress times and it all comes down to living through those times and doing the work to make the marriage work. She just has a body that doesn’t quit. That’s it!

That pose looks a little odd the way they are standing. From what little i know about reading body language, her pose says that she loves him to death and supports him fully, “forgive me” reads her face. His body language seems to say that he’s not happy with her about something although he is happily married because of the smile on his face and his eyes don’t look angry. Maybe I’m reading into it too much but…uh it IS date night….usually when you get a chance to be together as a couple..you just totally lean into each other. They are an attractive couple tho.
The “date night” was to the ring ceremony so, for him, it was a work event. Being around one’s employer and co-workers factors into body language
She seems like she is in hiding since the burqa incident. Daily Mail had the first pics, but they were kinda blurry. V. interested to see how her “work” looks.

How many times the public have to read in the press that a sports/actor/musician dumped his model wife only to upgrade from the circle of side pieces he never stopped dating to begin with?
I give this marriage five more months because he looks and she has the stench of desperation.
People magazine is such trash now, used to be good read. Not anymore
I think People has no idea what’s going on with their marriage so I would take whatever they say with more than a grain of salt. And the people they quoted didn’t seem all that keen to provide details, which is nice.
Whenever they’re photographed together, I just can’t get over the fact that they look SO much like brother and sister. Exact same coloring, features, body type, everything. So weird.
Thank you! I am so glad that someone else sees that! I used to tell my boyfriend and he would tell me that he could see nothing similar between them. The first thing that caught my mind were their chins – I swear their chins are so similar.
They both have greyhound faces… can’t remember which gossip site first coined that, but it was something about “hot” celebs having greyhound faces.
I think they’re fine. Extra stress but doing okay. They’re going through a lot with her retirement and court and plastic surgery but doesn’t mean they’re splitting
Lawyers tend to believe the judge may rule on Monday but there will likely be an appeal no matter who wins.
This will go 1 or 2 ways.
They’re having a totally normal marriage that’s vulnerable to patches of stress.

I don’t find either of them good-looking or interesting. I’ve seen interviews with both of them. He came across to me as arrogant, and she seemed offbeat. I wasn’t impressed by their handling of the situation with Bridget Moynihan, nor by the snubbing of Eli and Abby Manning when they were at the same party in New York shortly after the first time the Giants beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl. They couldn’t be bothered to attend the team party, either, after that loss. I don’t understand why sportswriters describe him as having integrity.
That’s because Brady is a bit of a sore loser. I remember during regular season games where the Pats lost, Brady has gone straight to the locker room without shaking anyone’s hand. Ditto with Bellicheat, but it doesn’t surprise me with him. Just poor sportsmanship. Eli is always a gentleman, as is Aaron Rodgers.
When the Giants beat them in the Superbowl in their ‘dynasty’ year, Bellicheat actually left the field before the game officially ended. That loss had to hurt. An 18-1 season’ll stay with you.
Of course they’d say that they’re fine, imagine if it was bad? Both of them worry too much about their image to allow anything detrimental to happen.
