I thought it had already met its end. Do people still watch that show?

    • Granger says:

I’ll never forget the time Tyra was on Ellen a number of years ago, right after Aron Rolston, the guy who had to amputate his own arm to free himself from a boulder he was trapped under during a hike in Utah. Tyra went on and on about how, on the last episode of ANTM, the girls had to cut their hair for a special photo shoot, and some of them were so traumatized and upset about it. Ellen just looked at her for a second and said something along the lines of, “Yeah… I just had a guy on here who had to cut off his own arm with a dull knife to save himself from dying in the wilderness… I’m finding that a little hard to sympathize with.” I mean, I know we all have our own trials and tribulations, and one person’s pain shouldn’t be diminished just because someone else’s pain may have been “worse”… But that just clinched for me how ridiculous ANTM could be. I haven’t watched it since.

Oh, please! The meltdowns at makeovers were some of the better parts! That’s why they always gave the delicate, super girly uppity girl the pixie cut.

      • Daria Morgendorffer says:

@Granger, that is exactly why I cannot stand Tyra! I felt the same exact way when Chrissy Teigen was sharing her struggles with fertility and then lo and behold, Tyra is hysterically crying and turning it into being about her. She’s so damn crazy, I’m not sure why she keeps popping up. Her star should’ve faded long ago. She’s a very unlikeable person.

      • 7-11's Hostage says:

Thank you. I really cannot stomach how self-serious these people are. Get a grip.

    • BRE says:

I’m ashamed to admit I still watch it, even though it has gotten terrible the last few years. I’m an addict!!!! But last week that had the models help Tyra with a music video for her new beauty line (which she plans to sell with consultants like Avon or Mary Kay) and I thought that this is what rock bottom was! Seriously, watch the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tNYAJbDgd4

      • Scarlet Vixen says:

@bre: You & I can be ashamed together. 🙂 I still watch it–once a month I have a day off where I watch crap tv I’m too old for like ANTM & Vampire Diaries. I am rooting for Nyle this season. But yeah, I think it’s time to out this show out of it’s misery–Tyra’s gotten insufferable, the photo shoots are lame, and I miss Nigel and Mr. J.

  2. AtlLady says:

    Stephen Colbert was brilliant!

  3. meme says:

I AM missing Charlie Hunnam. VERY much.

    • Daria Morgendorffer says:

Me too! I just said to my sister “Guess I’ll be watching SOA again” after clicking that link and seeing his immaculate face. The world needs more Charlie Hunnam.

  4. Nancy says:

That show ended when she got rid of Nigel and the J’s and added the boys.

  5. Don't kill me I'm French says:

I confirm Crimson Peak costumes are AMAZING

    • Vesta says:

They totally are! (I so much wish I had the courage to see them in action, but I just can’t enjoy horror films.)

      • Don't kill me I'm French says:

I watched the movie yesterday ( it released this week in France) and it is very familial .It is esthetic and gothic ( a little like Coppola’s Dracula ) visually beautiful .Jessica is so beautiful in brunette

  6. carol says:

How that show ANTM remained on TV this long is a mystery to me.

  7. Tacos and TV says:

I’m surprised this was still on. And what really ever become of any of the models featured or who won? The show seemed like a scam, but whatever. It’s over.

    • Josefa says:

Every season produced around 3 or 4 models who were consistently booking work. Mostly catalogues, editorials for local magazines or worked heavily in foreign markets like Asia and Mexico. The rest probably pursued modeling for a while and then started doing something else.

Most ANTM contestants weren’t exactly model material, and those who were had the “reality TV” stigma high fashion didn’t want to associate with. But a lot of them actually had very respectable careers if you consider modeling is an extremely competitive industry.

  8. Josefa says:

I was a huge follower of the show until the 16th season. The show jumped the shark by the 11th season. Then it just got way too stupid with the most ridiculous twists. All-stars! British girls! College girls! Men!

The early seasons (“cycles”, actually) of ANTM will always hold a special place in my heart, though.

  9. minx says:

Didn’t know it was still on.

  10. Illyra says:

Wow, the Dion pic makes me feel ancient.

  11. taboo says:

nice to see that celine hasn’t messed with her face. most divas her age seem to have waxen skin and fake lips. she just looks like celine, but older. cool!

  12. InvaderTak says:

    That was still on? Oh.

  13. Daria Morgendorffer says:

Tyra is arguably the most insufferable celebrity. I don’t understand how she has managed to keep herself somewhat relevant all these years. After Chrissy Teigen talked about her struggles with infertility and Tyra went on a ridiculous tirade telling a likely made up story in an effort to make it all about herself, I don’t even respect her as a person. She’s a bat sh-t crazy narcissist.

    • Neah23 says:

I don’t even like Tyra, but Wow really how do you know Chrissy Teigen didn’t make up her struggles with infertility? Because she attention seeker also or is it only Tyra because you hate her?

One thing I hate the most is when people don’t like someone they label them as crazy.

      • Daria Morgendorffer says:

….because Tyra has a history of being full of sh-t and a bat sh-t crazy narcissist and Chrissy does not. That’s why. Thank you oh so much for sharing the one thing that you hate. Very enlightening.

      • Neah23 says:

What has she done that was crazy?

P.S. Your more then welcome 😀

  14. Katie says:

So first Shia says LAPD killed his friend so they let him go then he tells them he’s in the national guard?
I realize he’s “not famous anymore” but LAPD probably don’t live under rocks.

    • Don't kill me I'm French says:

At this point, everyone agrees that he has some mental issues or drug problem

  15. pinetree13 says:

Hair, no-hair…I still cannot digest that Adam Levine was labelled the year’s ‘sexiest’ person. REALLY!?!?! I don’t….I don’t get it. He’s like a tiny, little dude with a regular face. I. don’t. get. it.
