Dwayne The Rock Johnson and his partner of eight years, Lauren Hashian, welcomed their first child together, a daughter, last week. The couple made the birth announcement on Instagram with a joint post. Johnson recently posted the first photo above of his baby daughter laying on his chest and revealed that her name is Jasmine. He wrote a long captain in which he described his awe at being present during the birth, and also said that he’s going to try and be a better person. Johnson has another daughter, 14 year-old Simone, with his ex wife, Dany Garcia. I wonder if Simone is going to babysit once little Jasmine is old enough to have a sitter. Here’s what Johnson wrote on Instagram:

therockChristmas came early! Within minutes of being born she was laying on daddy’s chest. And being a grateful man takes on a whole new meaning… Thank you guys so much for the awesome congratulatory wishes and love you’ve been sending @laurenhashianofficial and myself. We’re extremely grateful. Kinda crazy but in this cool and powerful skin to skin bonding moment with my newborn baby Jasmine, I had just one wish I asked the universe… Give me the strength to be a better man today than I was yesterday. If I can accomplish that, then I’d have a good shot at being a great father. To all you young men out there who will be fathers one day, the goal of “being better” will never steer you wrong. Trust me I’ve been down this road. Something else that’ll never steer you wrong is “walking thru the fire” with your baby’s mama. I was right there during labor, helping her breathe, every highly intense contraction, every second of pain, right there watching the actual birth, cutting the cord and wiping the tears. Incredible. *(Now don’t get me wrong boys, it wasn’t like I was at the end of the table, squatting like a catcher waiting for the fastball to come down the pike..😂 but as men, it’s a miracle we should witness because it’ll give you a whole new respect for the strength and beauty of a woman). That baby looks SO tiny, and I can’t figure out if she’s an especially small baby or if any baby would look small on The Rock’s chest. The guy has a big head too, I’m just saying. She’s adorable and I like the name Jasmine. It’s a little too “Disney,” but at least it’s not bizarre or potentially stigmatizing and they don’t use creative spelling. It’s cute how much Johnson gushes about being there for his daughter’s birth.

Ooh and The Rock also shared this super cute photo of his Halloween! He was Popeye and I think his French Bulldog, Hobbs, was an octopus. Just wait until next Halloween, when you have a kid that’s when Halloween ramps up. Plus these two will get to have the first Christmas with their new baby! That’s going to be really special and memorable for them.

This is a repost on The Rock’s IG and it may have come out a year or so ago but I loved this story so much. He sounds so thrilled that these little girls waited for him and that he could make their day. What a great guy he is and now he’s a dad for the second time.

#1 thing people ask me about is this story about these awesome girls. All ages and races – lucky dude to have the greatest fans in the world. #Repost ・・・ Maybe it's random or maybe it's holiday fate… either way it makes my heart sing… I decide to take a Sunday drive in my pick up to run errands and go train at my buddy's gym. As I'm driving down the road I see three young girls holding signs that just say "Beep", "Happy Holidays" etc. So I drive by and do what anyone would do.. I beep and wave. As I look in my rearview I can see that they're pointing at my truck (my all black pick up is pretty recognizable in our little country town). I go train and run my errands and over 3 HOURS later I'm driving back down our little backroad and the same three angels are standing by the side of the road – only this time they're jumping up and down, waving and screaming as I drove by. I thought, "Did those signs say my name?"…"Should I turn around just in case?" I decide to hit the brakes and look in my rearview and in that very moment I see them going BONKERS! I flipped a U-turn and drove back to them. They were elated. So was I. These little angels waited outside for over 3 hours for me to hopefully drive back down their road.. their mom and dad came running out and we all exchanged hugs and took pics. I made sure I got a pic with my phone, wished them all Happy Holidays, got back in my truck and went on my way. The coolest part of this whole random (or maybe fateful) act is that by turning around I literally got to meet some of the sweetest and kindest little ladies and family I'd ever met. May sound silly or corny, but moments like this are by far the greatest part of fame.
