Jake T. Austin is dating the woman who Twitter-stalked him for five years

I'm crazy for her. 💙

Jake T. Austin is 21 years old and best known for his role in the Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place. I’m sure a lot of tweens and teens know him, and maybe some of mothers-of-tweens too. Jake has been famous with that segment of the population for many years now. And like so many people of his generation, he’s very active on social media, and he often engages with his Twitter and Instagram followers, even the crazy loonie ones. And now he’s dating one of them. The above photo is from Jake’s Instagram, and the woman he’s kissing is 22-year-old Danielle Ceasar, a super-fan who Twitter-stalked him for FIVE YEARS.

Hard work really does pay off. Former Disney Channel star Jake T. Austin is now dating Danielle Ceasar, the 22-year-old New York fan who Twitter-stalked him for six years, according to The Sun. The 21-year-old “Wizards of Waverly Place” actor recently confirmed the unlikely union to his 1.4 million followers with an intimate Instagram selfie of the two kissing, tagging Ceasar’s account in the photo.

Ceasar, who has since made her Twitter and Instagram accounts private, reportedly began her dogged pursuit in December 2009.

“I wanna meet @JakeTAustin so badly,” she wrote, according to screengrabs from the British tabloid. Her unrequited infatuation played out on Twitter over two years — until she met Austin at a 2011 autograph signing in New York.

“Your smile is so cute @JakeTAustin,” she captioned a Twitter photo of their fateful meeting. He apparently followed her back on Twitter after that.

Ceasar’s online pursuit persisted over the next few years. As he went on to star in ABC Family’s “The Fosters,” she faithfully tuned in every Monday and lost her cool when he wore a beanie and appeared shirtless on the show.

Jake also made a statement about his relationship with his super-fan, saying: “We’re young and having fun just getting to know each other. It doesn’t matter how you meet someone – on set, in a coffee shop, at school, or in the business. Sometimes you connect with people at the right moment and you just click.” Well… I mean, I wish I found this more shocking. But I don’t. I think many celebrities are probably hooking up with their fans regularly, although not many celebs make their Twitter-stalkers their official girlfriends/boyfriends. It would be like Beyonce dating one of the Beyhive, or me dating Clive Owen. Speaking of which… does Clive Owen have a Twitter? (No, he doesn’t.)

Yipes. Gives hope to the teenage cyper groupies out there. He should have tweeted the “I still feel like a teenager sometimes” Katie Holmes.

  2. teatimeiscoming says:

Its creepy and weird. Cyber stalking for five years? If the genders were reversed we’d all be worried about safety.

    • INeedANap says:

I agree with you somewhat, but she hasn’t gotten to the level of actual stalkers. She sent him public messages, but never tried to kidnap him, or attack him, or broke into his home. As sad as that comparison is, she’s not too bad on the scale of celebrity stalkers.

    • minime says:

I don’t know him and I’m worried about his safety…I wonder what happens when he breaks up with her. It’s weird.

      • Dani says:

She didn’t literally stalk him. She follows his social media and tweets/interacts with him. Like a lot of fans do with celebrities they like. I follow a lot of musicians on twitter that I’ve found attractive and talented for years and have engaged with them and received a response, does that make me a crazed stalker?

    • M.A.F. says:

      He is 21, not 11.

  3. Elizabeth says:

21 yo :O He looks older and very creepy in these pictures. And I had never even heard of him 😐 And this whole culture of twitter/tumblr stalking is disturbing and weird although I am just out of my teens ..still I cannot relate to this at all.

  4. Mia V. says:

Michael Fassbender has Instagram, just sayin’.

  5. lisa2 says:

ewww I just find that ewww

and sadly it makes stalkers think this will work and that they too can win in the end.

    • nicole says:

Yeah, that’s the problem I see. Some of these fandoms are scary intense and now they can point to a success story while upping their game.

      • May says:

Yes, I agree. This reminds me of Bieber’s relationship (?) with Hailey Baldwin. She was a belieber from the start and she tweeted constantly about Bieber and his relationship with Selena. There were a lot of memes on social media about Hailey’s “success story” when Bieber posted that picture of them kissing. It went something like this: “OMG, SHE WAS A FAN AND NOW THEY’RE DATING. IT MEANS FANS HAVE A CHANCE” etc etc. Crazy!

  6. Senaber says:

Are we sure he’s alive in that kissing picture? Seems kind of dead and posed. And that caption?!? Ick. Has anyone seen him since this “confirmation?”

  7. Size Does Matter says:

Too bad Twitter didn’t exist back in the day. Joshua Jackson would be mine! #teampacey4eva

  8. Christine says:

I think this sounds worse than it probably is. She’s a fan who sent him flattering messages and they probably chatted back and forth and developed a friendship before making it official? I can’t imagine anyone receiving messages for 5 years and then just going for it without any kind of reciprocation.

    • PrincessMe says:

Exactly, this doesn’t seem like stalking to me. She likes him, watches his show(s), follows him on social media and sends flattering messages. Unless there are more aggressive messages that weren’t highlighted, this isn’t a big deal to me. A lot of people comment on every single post of certain stars here and say what they want to do (etc.), it’s just that she posted her messages directly to him – and it seems to have worked.
      Meh.

    • rose says:

Exactly. it’s not like celebs haven’t hooked up with fans from instagram or twitter

  9. Betti says:

It does sound a bit weird and sets a not so great example to other crazies who think that by intense perseverance u can get ur internet bf in reality. Saying that both seem a bit immature so who knows.

I would be mortified if I was referred to as a stalker but to some that’s a badge of honour.

  10. Lucy says:

The headline makes it sound creepier/worse than it actually is. Yes, she has tweeted him a couple times, but not the point in which she officially became a stalker.

    • EMc says:

My thoughts exactly- what makes her a stalker as opposed to a long time fan? Maybe I missed something. I’ve followed celebrities on Facebook for a number of years, and I’d love to meet them, but I don’t think that makes me a stalker..

  11. Adrien says:

Quick, what’s Supergirl’s Mehcad Brooks’ twitter handle? Seriously though, I find that fan- idol dating creepy. I remember being creeped out by that kid in 2 1/2 Men dating a well-known celeb chaser. Even if you work in the same industry, why date someone who worships you? It’s uneasy.

    • Tulip says:

Yeah, it’s not a good thing. Crazy can look so normal until it’s too late to escape (which anyone in customer service can appreciate). And as a celebrity, if you go for it AND it turns out the fan is nuts, you still have to get out, but in a way that doesn’t affect your image. You just can’t be scared or angry. You have to be scared and angry in a way that won’t turn the public off.

      No way.

  12. Miss Jupitero says:

I think I just heard Tom Hiddleston scream……

    • EnnuiAreTheChampions says:

Hahaha! I was thinking the same.

    • Becky says:

That’s what I was thinking. Just noticed that one of his obsessed fans has moved to London and is hanging around his neighbourhood

      • OhDear says:

        Wait, what?!?!

Re: Austin’s girlfriend – that just gives the more unhinged fans some bad ideas.

      • DahliaDee says:

        Which one? 😂

      • Miss Jupitero says:

        is this *still* a thing?

I remember when fans were poring over the photos of the house he bought and stalking his favorite coffee shop. But that is now officially years ago.

      • NUTBALLS says:

The last thing the crazy-assed Hiddlestoners need is this kind of hope…

Yes Miss J, reportedly they do still stalk him at G&W and walk past his house when he’s in town.

Did you see that HR is streaming on Amazon April 28th?? I know you’re chomping at the bit to see it.

      • Becky says:

Which one? There are several, but this one has actually moved to London and posts about where she goes. There’s also been a few before now (2 were active on social media). This one is French and posts loads of Tom related stuff on her Twitter and tumblr accts.

      • jammypants says:

serious? wow, way to win over your favorite.

      • DahliaDee says:

I’m amazed at the amount of time/money people have on their hands. I mean, I wouldn’t move to a foreign country in the hope of meeting some celebrity (not even for Hiddles, not if I didn’t have any friends there, or any other interest in the city/country/culture etc, outside the object of obsession), but I would totally move to Paris if I had that kind of money.

    • jammypants says:

      hahahaha! poor man

      • Andrea says:

Wow, if I happened to run into a celebrity somewhere I would totally hit on them but move to a foreign country to basically stalk them indefinitely? That is a whole new level of crazy! Poor Hiddleston. Women like that hurt women who would innocently like to hit on him; he will think we are all insane stalkers!

  13. frivolity says:

While this situation is quite creepy and sets a bad precedent, I also have a feeling that this particular “relationship” is not at all what it seems. I get the feeling that this young man does not play for the same team as this young woman. (I have no idea who this kid is; it’s just the impression I get.) Not that there is anything wrong with that, of course, but he may either be hiding it or may not even realize it yet, which is why the very precarious beginning to this “relationship” really doesn’t mean much at all.

  14. kri says:

I honestly think I would not allow my child to be on TV. Under any circumstances. It seems like 90% of them end up messed up somehow. It’s scary.

  15. OSTONE says:

Does Matt Bomer have a Twitter? 😂😂😂😂

  16. Joni says:

Seems healthy. What will she do when he breaks up with her? I hope he doesn’t have pet bunnies.

  17. Asiyah says:

Proof that, unfortunately, a lot of guys may complain about stalkers, but they secretly like that. They think it’s cute. With enough stalking–er, persistence–you can land the guy!

  18. word says:

If/when this relationship ends, this girl is going to be devastated. She spent so many years building up to this and if/when it’s over she won’t know what to do with herself.

  19. A.Key says:

    I think it’s sweet.

Until she turns all Glenn Close, it sounds pretty cool to me.

Fans are the same as celebs, you know, we’re all just ordinary people.

Besides, she’s probably more sane than the majority of Disney stars he knows.

  20. Edie says:

If I had sons, this would be my worst nightmare.

  21. kimbers says:

    Whatever works.
