Here are some photos from the Weinstein Company’s Pre-Oscar Dinner 2016 at Montage Beverly Hills. Shockingly, there was a distinct lack of Marchesa on many of the big-name celebrities in attendance. Let’s start with Lady Gaga. You know what I miss? I miss when Gaga stopped being a thing. But her “comeback” is in full swing and if you couldn’t tell by her face, she’s loving every minute of it. She wore this deconstructed tuxedo dress by Brandon Maxwell. It seems like this should have been obscene, but it wasn’t. Also: Gaga’s Little Monsters have been threatening us (me) because I’m not a believer. Yeah… I will continue to not be a believer.
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen… the red is very pretty on her, but I’m not loving the hair. While you know my feelings on bangs, I think this is one situation where a woman needs something to frame her face, like some shaggy fringe or something.
Kerry Washington in a very simple LBD. She’s just out and about this weekend to have fun and network – she’ll be presenting at the Oscars too.
Colin Firth and his wife Livia Giuggioli. I don’t think there’s an actor more closely associated with Harvey Weinstein, and for all of Harvey’s faults and sketchiness, I am grateful for Weinstein’s close association with Firth. I guess Colin and Livia just came out to have fun too.
Jaime King in Cushnie et Ochs. The dress is meh-to-fine, especially for a pre-Oscar party. I think I’ve figured out what bugs me about her look though: she doesn’t know what to do with her hair. Right now, it’s too dark and the center part is unflattering.
The Marchesa-wearing was left to Zendaya, who actually wore two Marchesa looks to the party. Neither of which was very good, if I’m being honest. But she’s young and beautiful, so she comes close to pulling off these terribly budget designs.

I think Gaga shirt is interesting and vintage. It’s actually a crepe velvet- I would love to have this piece. I like that she’s not typical Lady Gaga with the five foot circumference ensemble; for me the toned down look is refreshing on occasion.

Honest question:
Is Zendaya the new Harvey girl? We all know her here as a smart, articulate young lady but from a career standpoint, she’s still pretty much a Disney actress. But she sat with the Weinsteins at their A+ list table at the Globes to which she wore Marchesa. And now at this Oscar pre-party. she’s wearing not one but two Marchesas. He has to have taken her under his wing right?
Well with all that happening I’d say she’s at least auditioning.
She seems very lovely, but has anyone seen her act? She is dreadful onscreen. Though not as dreadful as her Shake It Off partner, so at least tthere’s that.

Zendaya needs to just simmer it down, way too much going on with each of those dresses. And why two dresses for one event? Simmer down now! But she’s beautiful, no taking that away from her.
Gaga is always and forever annoying and stinks of desperation. I also miss the days when she was fading away. She will fade again because there’s no substance there, and I bet the second time the fade will be for good.

Sue me, but I kinda love Z’s second look. Not as a red carpet gown, but as something I’d see on RuPaul’s show. It’s so tacky and quinceañera-like.
The 2nd dress is cute and quintessential Disney princess. She’s young and still at the point she is absolutely experimenting with her look with mixed results. I wish I had the options available to me at that age. Of course I couldn’t have dealt with the constant knowledge of being criticized for any perceived missteps and Lord knows I made a lot at that age. I honestly like the kid and hope she continues to succeed.
2 gowns for 1 party is weird. 2 Marchesa gowns for 1 party is a crime against humanity. I like her, she’s beautiful and smart, but no. No, no.

Lady Gaga seemed fresh and out there when she came on the scene. Even her wigs were good and were interesting.
For years now all we’ve seen are bad blonde wigs that date her or her own bleached hair, which all ages her. I thought she was going to be something fresh. She once had really thick, great hair of her own. Why not have some great colors, not blonde, and her real hair every once in a while. Like a long permed look with her natural brown hair, all wavy and tousled. She would look years younger and different from all the bleached blondes out there.

Kerry Washington looks gorgeous as usual. I don’t like Zendaya’s dresses but I LOVE her so she always gets a pass from me. I think Chrissy Teigen has awesome pregnancy style–funny that she has the same stylist as Kim K. and is being styled pretty much the same way Kim was while pregnant. Chrissy slays in looks that Kim looked horrific in.
Ladies, ENOUGH with the slicked-back center part style. NOBODY looks good in it.

Kaiser, I would watch out if I were you. They bombarded the twitter of a dead icon’s son with nasty messages because he didn’t like the atrocious Grammy performance. They are relentless. They now want Gaga to do a covers album of Bowie’s songs because he’s not that good vocally they feel and she does them so much better, with soul, and listening to the Grammys performance on repeat. You can’t make this stuff up. LOL
Kerry Washington rarely makes a misstep on red carpets. She looks fantastic.
Gaga’s outfit had potential, but it just didn’t make the cut. Too much skin, for one thing. With all that boobage and torso exposed, she should have skipped the slit in the skirt. The makeup is way too heavy, also. She looks like a blonde Elvira, which I doubt she was going for. Zendaya is looking like a bit of a sycophant. Wish she would tone it down a bit. Plus that one dress looks very prom like.
Mrs. Darcy’s outfit is tres weird so I googled her. Turns out she is an eco-fashion activist according to Vanity Fair. Her lavender silk skirt used to belong to Queen Elizabeth but the matching top got a stain on it so they donated it to the Goodwill. Mrs. D’s stylist snapped it up along with a slightly faded stretched out black tank and voila – pre-Oscar party ensemble.
I would like Kerry’s dress to be about 2 inches longer. The length is too short. Reminds me of a romper. I love her sandals.
Zendaya’s tulle dress looks like a 3-year old sister took a scissors to her Disney princess gown.

Gaga fans need to get over it. Several female celebrities get hate on here: Amal Clooney, Kate Middleton, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, & Jennifer Lawrence. Jennifer Garner is next. I’ve been reading this site for years. All of these women bring out the worst comments.
Gaga is like Justin Timberlake in that they think they can act and no one has told them they can’t. The Emmy she got won’t help either. Both have massive egos that they can’t sublimate in their roles so they should stick to music.
And Gaga has messed with her face to the point I don’t recognize her half the time. It’s too bad since she isn’t even that old.
Right now I can’t stand Gaga. The whole commercialization she brought to the tribute of David Bowie has totally turned me off, and probably colors my opinion on all things Gaga and what she is wearing.
I usually think Zendaya looks amazing in whatever she wears and she brings it, but no with the Marchesa. Harvey, please don’t hijack Zendaya’s style!
Don’t watch it again. The things you notice on re-watches are awful. The dancers all over the stage. The robotic keyboard she runs over to and is playing on while it’s moving is so cheezy. The spins she kept doing. Gaga mimicking Bowie vocally, trying to, in some songs. Gaga performing like an Elvis tribute at one point. The screen with everything on it EXCEPT BOWIE, just intel crap. The horrific ending where she and Nile ruined a great song, Heroes, with their version.
I’m sure there’s more. That’s all I can think of.

Am I the only one who sees Zendaya’s face and think that it’s actually two different (yet similar) faces cut in halves and sewn in the middle? I don’t know if it’s some trickery of lighting and photography, but the left side of her face looks very different from the right side. Which is completely normal, since everyone is asymmetrical, but it is rare for that asymmetry to be so noticeable.
Why is GaGa everywhere? What is going on? So over her.
