In the latest “Gwake” news, the musical power couple (Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani) are expected to release a duet together on Blake’s upcoming album. If you are a “Gwake” fan, you may already know that the duo collaborated (before they were “official”) on writing (NOT recording) a mid-tempo ballad “telling a lover to leave the relationship if that is what they truly want.” But is there an audience for California ska/rock AND new country?
The unlikely couple have been a perfect match in the studio. As an insider told People, “Both of them share a passion for music and have lately been very busy in the studio. They seem very supportive of each other’s careers.” So, what are we thinking here? I am not a country fan, but Blake is an artist I’ll listen to on the radio. Gwen gets goodwill credits because my life is accompanied by a constant loop of “Make Me Like You.” This might actually be decent.
Meanwhile there’s news that Blake’s new single is about Gwen, because of course it is. We already know that “Make Me Like You” is about Blake, Gwen has admitted it, and now Blake has “Came Here To Forget” out. It’s about two people getting over a breakup by getting drunk and falling in love. As outlets are reporting, it’s obviously autobiographical and the theme of the song is “not subtle.” Blake has said that “I don’t think I’ve ever had a song that’s such a direct look into my life.” What about that song about burning watermelon candles and making margaritas for Miranda Lambert?
“Came Here to Forget” debuted at number 1 on the iTunes country charts and Gwen seems pretty proud of that. She posted this screenshot to Instagram.

Yeah I don’t even know anymore. I thought it was a rebound, for Blake, at least. The two of them pairing up for a duet makes zero sense, musically.

Recording a song together sounds nice ,but avoid doing any reality show together. A reality show seems to be the touch of death for many celebrity relationships

They’re so over the top together that I can’t imagine what they’ll be like when they break up. At this rate they’re going to be worse than Ben Affleck and Jen Garner.
I’m looking forward to their break up already. I sorta have this dream wish – that Blake will cheat with Taylor Swift. Imagine the songwriting and the girl fights!

Yup. I was done with them once they started to Facetime in front of the paps and actually turn their cameras toward the paps to make sure they got a clear picture of the screen. Honestly, imho, Gwen is just looking more and more sad and desperate the longer she’s in this relationship. I never and still don’t have any real feelings for Blake, but Gwen was my fave coming up and watching this is such a downer.

A reality show and then on air wedding seem imminent. I can’t recall seeing two people more desperate to publicly prove how in love and happy they are. Just be!
I wish she’d stop pushing the Banging Blake Tour so hard. I don’t think that Gavin is paying as much attention as she thinks he is. She’s trying too hard to seem “moved on” and it makes her look like the opposite, super clingy and that she can’t let go.
Gavin is probably relieved someone else has to put up with her now!

I have come to loathe her. As the former spouse of a serial cheater, I can tell you that this time in the divorce process is devastating to the kids (just in case any of y’all didn’t already know that). 🙂
I wish this insecure woman would give her kids – who have to be sad and confused right now – a fraction of the time she seems to spend on this fauxmance and showing the world how she’s #WINNING at her divorce. I know she’s hurting and I sympathize, but this is the wrong way to move forward.

And let me just say, this man, the man she loved, screwed the nanny for three years in their own home, and she is one of the few that ended up the winner, not the husband dancing off into the sunset with the new babe and the publicly humiliated wife standing in the ashes of her life.
So let’s shame her as a bad mother because she’s not doing the dimple parade ala Jennifer Aniston and sitting home the other fifty percent of the time he has her children that she lost fifty percent of the time because he destroyed the marriage.

I’m sure they’ll write some schmaltzy original song, but I would be sofa kingmaker excited if they sang “Islands in the Stream” together. Gwen and I are the same age; as an 80’s child I guarantee she can sing every word of that song from memory. It would be glorious.

This question of whether they are cheesy is beyond asking at this point. They are a Swiss fondue with a NYC bagel size smear plus disco fries level cheese fer sure. BUT I say, esp since that nanny is pregnant, “Go Gwen, get your happiness.” …there are worse things out there for people to put out, like a Kardashian selfie.
