Just listened to Solange’s new album. Last one is in my top 5 female artist list of recent production and this one is joining it. I love Solange. I think Dev Hynes was a great combo for her but this is also great. I don’t want to compare her to somebody but Solange’s portrayal of feminism and equalness or lack of it is the kind I’m backing up. What’s with the weird fascination of having to know the name and gender of a celeb’s baby? If the couple wants to tell great! If they don’t then that’s their right and it’s great as well. They’re the ones who are famous. Not their kid. In Blake and Ryan’s case, they’ve always been private when it comes to James so this isn’t shocking. And the only reason news broke is because Taylor Swift went to go visit Blake in the hospital.
Boredom. Because the interest doesn’t translate into actual dollars spent – “Meet our baby” magazine covers are notoriously poor selling for weekly magazines unless the baby is named Jolie Pitt. So I’m just going with idle gossip to pass the time.

They were not private with James’ name. They had a whole media roll out. First they said it was unexpected, then a family name, then a traditional name with a twist, then finally admitted her name. It was really odd and annoying, otherwise I’d agree.
I wasn’t talking about her name. They didn’t have a whole media roll out. The media used inside sources to make up names. The media even believed some “nurse” who said her name was Violet. But regardless, I was talking about James in general. I don’t see Blake and Ryan going out for pap walks with their kid like some celebs. They’ve both made it clear that they want their kid to have privacy. Say what you want about Blake and Ryan but they havent used their baby for publicity in that manner when they very well could have. Like do you even know what James looks like? Exactly. So again this whole not releasing any info isn’t shocking to me.
Hmm as a Blake fan and somewhat of a name nerd I want to try some serious guesses. Well if it’s a boy, I think it will have a boys name. Wyatt comes to mind, something that has an American feel (but not guessing that as Ashton and mila used it). Thomas, henry, perhaps? I don’t think they will use a girls name for a boy anyways. I don’t think they will use object/fruit names. Maybe a nod to her family or to his heritage in bc/van. If it’s a girl maybe another “boy” name, Blair would be perfect 😉 Quinn? Not something like Arabella, but maybe something like Ivy or Nina. Not too frilly but doesn’t have to be as boyish as James. Kate? Greer? Anyone else have serious guesses?

I figure it’ll be a name of a family member. Wasn’t James named after Ryan’s dad? And Blake was named after a great uncle.
So, I’m thinking maybe one of Blake’s family members. Her father is Ernest – his mother Beatrice, and father Ernest. Her mother is Elaine – though I’m not sure what her parents names are. Either way, my money would be on a name of a family member.
James was named after Ryan’s dad who died of Parkinson’s and Blake was named after a family member so I agree that it’ll most likely hold some family importance. Maybe not one of their parents again but someone else.
On the joking side imagine if they named their kid Taylor……
