We haven’t checked in with Mel B in some time. She is currently divorcing her ex of ten years, Stephen “Belafonte,” with whom she has one daughter, Madison, five. Stephen has been granted supervised visits with Madison, and he apparently video chats with her, judging from this obnoxious instagram he posted of Madison hugging a TV with a photo of him on it. Mel has been granted a temporary restraining order against Stephen after submitting a request to the court which included allegations that he physically and emotionally abused her, that he stole money from her, that he used her children as pawns, that he impregnated their nanny and that he forced Mel into having threesomes. She also requested a restraining order against the nanny, which was not granted as the nanny couldn’t be served. For her part the nanny has filed a defamation lawsuit against Mel.

We’ve heard that Mel’s ex wants spousal support and legal fees, so I doubt you’d be surprised to hear about the exorbitant amount of money he wants for expenses, including $2k a month for clothing, $4k a month for food and $750 a month for phone bills. How many phones does he have? Stephen is actually working, surprisingly, at a restaurant called Serafina which he and Mel co-own. How much do you want to bet he’s using that gig to siphon money? Mel is trying to get these amounts reduced of course.

Mel filed docs shooting holes in Stephen Belafonte’s request for emergency spousal support. For instance, she says the $4,300 for food and groceries he wants comes to $140 per day, or as she puts it … a week’s worth of food for a typical family of four.

She’s also not down with his $2k monthly clothing allowance … since she says he took his full wardrobe when he moved out of their house. Ditto for his $11k per month on housing — she points out, he’s just staying with friends.

Belafonte also needs a new cell phone plan, according to Mel. In the docs she scoffs at his asking for $750 each month … calling it an “exorbitant” cost for ONE phone. She’s got a point.

As for him crying poverty — Mel says if he’s working full-time at Serafina, and not making a dime, he “should get a job at a different restaurant.” Mind you, Stephen and Mel are co-owners of that joint.

TMZ has an earlier report with details from Stephen’s legal filing. It states that he’s staying with friends, that he makes no money and that he’s $60,000 in credit card debt. He claims Mel’s income is $250k a year month and he wants $200k for divorce lawyers and $55k for his accountant. Also he’s posted two Instagram quotes recently which reference people lying. He’s a detestable POS and I hope he doesn’t get a dime. If he wasn’t an obvious abuser I would feel differently. I just feel bad for Mel that she’s still dealing with all of this and I hope she has good friends and family around her. She’s well rid of Stephen.
