Here are some photos of an animated-looking Britney Spears at the 29th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Beverly Hills last night. Britney received the Vanguard Award for all she’s done for the LGBTQ community, which… I mean, I would and do consider Britney to be a gay icon, but I also don’t think she’s some huge LGBTQ ally? But whatever, GLAAD hands out those kinds of awards like candy at this point.
Britney’s is in a Giannina Azar mini-dress and she wore Christian Louboutin heels. The dress is bad, her hair is bad and the uneven tan is bad, and yet… I think she looks good here, just because it is genuinely nice to see her looking so animated and “together.” But yeah, this dress is absolutely awful and much too small. She walked the carpet solo, but her boyfriend Sam Asghari was there, and they sat together inside the event.
Meanwhile, we haven’t had any gossip from Britney and Kevin Federline’s child support battle in a few weeks. The gossip – which was a steady stream throughout March – has gone dark. I think the lawyers are handling everything now, and hopefully Jamie Spears isn’t going to leak a bunch of new sh-t to the press.
And finally, Britney’s little sister Jamie Lynn welcomed her second daughter this week. Jamie Lynn named the little girl Ivey Joan. Do you think Britney spends much time with her nieces?

She’s not an 18 year old pop star anymore but she’s still dressing like she is. I don’t think she’s as mature as she should be by this point.
Your comment reminds me of that idea of “fame stunts your mental growth at whatever age you become famous.” I don’t know who said that first, but I’m reminded of it when I see Justin Beiber and Brit Brit. She physically looks great and could look even better if she changed up her outfits/dresses. I know if she is walking a red carpet, it’s going to be a mini dress, and that’s so boring in dress after dress after dress that looks exactly the same.
I would argue that Leonardo DiCaprio, at least in his personal life, hasn’t really matured beyond his early 20s when “Leo Mania” struck. His group of guy friends, the age of his girlfriends, the parties…none of it has changed since 1998.
I think the higher the level of fame, the more it can stunt the person. It’s worse with people who became megastars.
They also say that about addicts, so Brit and the Biebs got the arrested development double whammy.
IMO she could even pull off her glitzy shoes and dresses that she loves if she had a hair and makeup makeover – softer blonde, better hair style, more modern makeup that places emphasis her pretty eyes and doesnt make her lips dissapear. Get rid of the fake tanner. THEN she could wear her sparkily shoes and even sparkly mini dresses. Maybe not THAT mini dress but A sexy mini dress. Her body is insane – she works hard! Plus the look in her eyes say ‘tired and sad’ – I hope that she is getting the psychological help she needs and get sthe confidence she deserves.
She doesn’t look “trendy” but she’s carrying a signature look- Plus she looks fit and sexy. I guess I’m alone in thinking she looks very Brit Brit. Hope she’s doing well.
I think they call that aesthetic ‘Mohegan Sun cocktail waitress’ — as you age that kind of thing makes you look hard and old—‘rode hard and put away wet’ as the saying goes.
Her eyes look sad. She should just do what she wants to do and that way she will develop.

She has a banging body and she is still gorgeous despite the ill-advised plastic surgery but her hair, make-up and styling are consistently so unflattering and awful. It makes her look older, tired, haggard, bigger than she is and just not good. I wish a good stylist would come along and re-do her whole look.
She just looks awful lately. The too small showgirl dresses, bleached out hair, the eyeliner- she’s just become a sad prop…

Agreed that her body looks great. But her breasts are so compressed by the dress that they look like they are gasping for air! Give the girls some room.

That dress is awful. She needs a stylist who is going to give her clothing that will be flattering.
And cover up a little more skin. Actually it wouldn’t be too bad if the dress were a little longer. But she’s at an age now where botox is necessary (in large quantity) around her mouth because she smokes. Time to cover up a little.
Or she should just quit smoking. Botox will just make her look worse. Also, I don’t think botox or any fillers are ever necessary.
I am 8 yrs older than Britney and I smoke. I have zero lines around my mouth and lips, thank you very much. She didn’t NEED to do anything to her lips. She wanted to just like all these other crazy bishes who have duck lips. They are sick in the head.

Now, normally I’m very supportive of a woman having a “signature style”– but signature style should not be tiny, tacky Vegas dress, glittery heels, and busted weave.
I’ve said this before but I genuinely empathize with how difficult it can be when we reach our late thirties to let go of the….showy outfits. But we really have to leave that stuff for the beautiful twenty-somethings who can pull it off. As we approach 40, sexy outfits have to be redefined as something classic with maybe a bit of skin showing here and there.
Pencil skirts are sexy. Off the shoulder tops are sexy. A nice pair of classic pumps is sexy. A simple demi body con dress is sexy.
And all are age-appropriate (I hate myself for using that phrase but there it is).
As we get older, we simply cannot pull off the same looks we did when we were in our twenties, even if we have a banging body like Britt. It just looks kind of…sad? Someone said “washed up pop star” up-thread and I think that sums it up nicely. Not that I think Brittney is that, but that’s the image she is conveying here.
We had our fun back in the day as we all should but it’s time to move forward, Brit-Brit.

I know what one wears is a personal choice but she simply doesn’t look good here. I think she has the potential to look great with a little help.
The dress is tacky, but 40 is hardly old. I don’t think women should be obligated to cover up just because they’re not 20. I’ve seen a lot of 40 year olds that are just as sexy if not more so than a 20 something.
But I never said she needs to “cover up”, just change the style of clothing she seems to favor. It’s dated and it’s tacky. I listed examples of sexy clothing items that show skin, but are classic, flattering on almost every body type, and don’t scream “Vegas sex worker”. I just think as we get older we need to be more mindful of what is modern, timeless, and professional in terms of fashion.
(“professional” can still be sexy BTW)

A lot of 40 year olds are sexier than a lot of 20 years olds, but dresses like that wouldn’t look sexy on any 40 year old, IMO. It’s just so early 20s instagram model. Clothes like that are sexy for women who haven’t figured out what it is to be sexy, if that makes any sense.
In this case though she really needs to cover up.
It wouldn’t even look so bad if it was a full dress without the cutouts (or with small cutouts) and about 3″ longer. It’d have made a HUGE difference.
She can still have her embellished, sparkly dresses. She just needs to find the ‘right’ mix. And fit – my god the fit is bad. I mean – she’s not an every day 30 something -she performs in Vegas – so I’m not expecting her to ditch the styles completely. She just needs someone who’s willing to show her pieces that have the main ‘idea’ of the outfits she loves without looking like someone got drunk and threw ALL the ideas into one outfit.
Plus, her eyeliner is overtaking her eyebrows. It makes them look even softer toned than they are and it throws off her face. And her hair is just such a harsh blonde. I REALLY liked that red brown hair she had for a while. I think it was a lot more flattering than the blonde – and it would make her look so much more ‘alive’.
But that’s what I find so weird.
Presumably she wears some version of this sparkly mess every night while performing so when she’s making appearances outside of the Vegas stage you would think she would just want to get away from that look, you know?
The makeup is exactly the style that everyone my age wore in our twenties: smoky eye with some nude/rose lip color. I think that can look great on a young woman but it ages women in their late thirties. She could look really fresh and pretty with some nude liner on her bottom water line, a light neutral shadow, and some mascara. The eye makeup is just dominating her face.
I suddenly feel self-conscious and awful that I’m critiquing her so much but I feel like I can because I’m around her age and I know the struggle. Recently, I’ve parted ways with my dark eyeliner and my mini-mini skirts. It sucks, but you don’t want to be that sad older person who can’t give up their youth, ya know?
I’m coming from a place of understanding and love, Britt-Britt, but please ditch the weave and tacky outfits.

I’ll be 40 this year and I have a group of girl friends who feel the need to still have their boobs hanging out every time we head out for a nice dinner. I find it so tacky and embarrassing. I have another friend who got porn star boobs a couple years ago and she refuses to wear anything that cover them all the while refusing to cover up her grey roots on a regular basis. LOL! The older I get the more I’m fine with looking classy or covered up. I don’t need my aging breasts to be on full display because I don’t need that attention anymore.
And I’m not saying older women can’t dress sexy but sexy isn’t necessarily about how to show the most skin. It’s confidence, it’s how you carry yourself, etc. And I’d like to think as a woman gets older she should be comfortable enough in her own skin to not feel like she needs to dress like she’s going to a club at 22 years old.
I like my legs. I have no issues showing them with a shorter skirt or a pair of shorts. But I’m not going to wear shorts cut up to my ass cheeks just because I can.
BritBrit needs a make over. That dress looks too small for starters and we KNOW Brit has a banging bod, we don’t need it to be on full display.

LMAOOO. Oh god. I guess I just don’t understand being our age and wanting everyone to look at my boobs. Part of getting older is the freedom that comes with not caring anymore. And I don’t mean not caring about how you look, but just not requiring the attention or validation that comes with being viewed as a sex object. That being said, to each her own…

I’m in my thirties now, and it’s taken me awhile to articulate why I agree with this sentiment beyond the social conditioning, and it came down to this:
Dresses like this scream, “LOOK AT ME.” It’s putting on the performance of sexy more than anything else.
By your thirties and forties, you should be confidant enough in your body to know you’re worth looking at regardless of the amount of skin showing. Sex isn’t a performance, anymore. It’s an engagement.
Yup! You and Happy21 nailed it. As we age, “sexy” becomes something far more subtle than big boobs and butts.
The word *attitude* is defined in Merriam-Webster as “individuality and self-confidence as manifested by behavior or appearance; style”.
And the combination of style and confidence is sexy as hell to me.

I don’t want to trash her. I’m genuinely happy that she seems to be in a good place and her body is incredible. She must put so much work into it. Kudos to her. I just wish she would update her look a little. You can wear stuff that is body conscious that doesn’t look age inappropriate. Kelly Ripa comes to mind.

I wish I had her body, but I don’t have her willpower and motivation lol to even try. If the cutouts were not cut out, and the dress was a couple inches longer, possibly with more drape instead of cling, she’d look awesome. And comfortable. She doesn’t look awesome because she’s not comfortable and it’s obvious.

She’s been doing something to her face these past few years that’s caused her mouth to look … off. I can’t decide it’s botox, fillers, or corner lip injections, but she almost doesn’t look like herself anymore. I think she’s done something to her nose, too.
