James Woods’ agent dropped him on the 4th of July in a wave of true patriotism

2017 Writers Guild Awards L.A. Ceremony

James Woods is a deplorable nutjob who spreading far-right conspiracy theories and anti-Clinton propaganda. He’s a Trump supporter, obviously, and honestly there’s very little difference between what Woods does on Twitter and what Donald Trump does on Twitter. The only difference is that Woods is still trying to be a working actor while Trump naps through Fox & Friends whilst eating ten morning cheeseburgers. Obviously, no one should have to work with either man. Which is probably why James Woods’ agent dropped him on the Fourth of July.

I actually think the agent’s message was fine? Obviously there’s a backstory there and I’m sure the two men have argued in the past about how Woods is hurting his own reputation by being such an insane wingnut. Woods ended up responding with a tweet too.

Again, his agent wasn’t infringing on Woods’ right to freedom of speech. James Woods was free, and he’s still free to say and tweet whatever he wants. What these dumbasses want is freedom from consequence. They want to be able to spout off unhinged, false and hurtful bullsh-t and they want everyone to shrug and still pay them money because they’re almost always white men and white privilege is real. I’m shocked that his agent was still with him, frankly.

He is god awful on Twitter! Always defends the indefensible behavior from Trump. For some reason, he, Roseanne and Ari Fleisher always appear after each other. What took the publicist so long? Seems more like an act of cowardice or financially motivated. JW is awful and his Tweets go way back like Roseanne so no mystery to anyone

    • BlueSky says:

The worse thing you can do to a Trump supporter is snub or shun them.
They truly don’t understand that freedom of speech does not shield you from consequences.
I agree, support who you want and say all the deplorable sh@t you wanna say. People have the right to not want to be around you and be subjected to your bullsh@t. As I said before, you are only being treated the way Trump supporters treat everyone else.

    • holly hobby says:

I do believe it’s financially motivated and obviously since they’ve been in a working relationship for years, they were close. I think the agent put up with it as long as Woods kept getting employed. If they’ve had a working relationship for that long, they do develop a friendship which is why there was a delayed reaction.

Whatever, at least Woods was civil about the firing.

    • spargel says:

Loooong before Twitter, even. He’ll always be the “barely adult women are the best for men because they can be trained up like puppies” man to me.

  2. Dietcokehead says:

    Ha, serves him right!

  3. Lightpurple says:

For some bizarre reason, the worst of the MAGAts on Twitter include Woods in all of their tweets. And suddenly, not only are you schooling some racist moron, you’re wrangling with James Woods too. He is a vile, racist, misogynistic little man who is full of hatred for everyone and everything.

    • Esmom says:

It’s true. I kinda thought they included him because they know they’re more likely to get a response from him than from Trump. He’s like their deputy MAGAt in Chief or something.

He is horrible but I still maintain that Don Jr is truly the worst of the bunch.

      • Who ARE These People? says:

Ivanka, because she gets away with it.

      • Lightpurple says:

I agree Princess Nagini is the worst. She gets away with a lot more and they all rush to defend her but they don’t include her on every tweet. But Junior is very bad. I’ve had experiences on Twitter when I’m disagreeing with someone and suddenly I see they have added Woods, Junior and Dana Loesch to the discussion. It’s as if they can’t exist unless they get approval from that vile trio.

      • holly hobby says:

Complicit See You Next Tuesday has the shiny veneer to hide the Nazi in her. I still find it ironic that she is Jewish. Do they get excommunicated like Catholics?

    • whatWHAT? says:

and let’s not forget how he “likes them young”.

remember Amber Tamblyn’s story about getting hit on at 16 by Woods. she told him her age and he still kept going. he’s disgusting.

    • Melly says:

Its because Alex Jones did a show yesterday saying Woods manager firing him was the start of the new American civil war.

      • Lightpurple says:

This has been going on for months. And the responses to the Second Civil War have been hilarious.

  4. Neelyo says:

I hope he has no residuals to retire on and is stuck doing his one man Rudy Giuliani show on MAGA cruises to survive.

    • boredblond says:

Or maybe he can join the cast of rosanne’s imaginary new show..

    • tealily says:

I’m sure he’ll get money from endless Family Guy repeats, if nothing else.

    • holly hobby says:

For some reason I think he came from a well off family? His mother just recently passed and he can surely live off the inheritance. Hey he is old as dirt how much longer can he hang on?

    • hogtowngooner says:

Can this cruise ship get lost at sea, so the MAGAts are forced to pull themselves up by their bootstraps to survive?

    • jan90067 says:

Isn’t he in Nick Loeb’s anti-abortion movie? Him and the other Hollywood Deplorables?

  5. Mia4s says:

While we all know that if Woods was still relevant and making money the agent would have held his nose; this is still nice to see.

Woods is garbage pretending to be human. I wish him irrelevance, unemployment, and financial problems for years to come. Bye bitch! 👋

  6. Jay says:

All these conservative constitutional folks who love talking about the freedom of speech seem to have never actually read that amendment….

  7. TheOtherMaria says:

Good, I saw him on my Twitter feed and promptly deleted the person who RTd it because I just can’t….

The news is depressing enough, I don’t need unnecessary negativity on my my feed 🙄

  8. Electric Tuba says:

You’re right. They want freedom from consequences. And this childish, “oh the tolerant leeebruuuls aren’t tolerant of me being a sick bastard” arguement I see EVERY got damn day is enough to make me want to smash things like the Hulk.

We just want equal rights, your churches out of our bedrooms and uterus, demilitarized police forces with intelligent officers who have had their backgrounds checked of ANY hint of racism and then for everyone to SHUT THE FARK UP for at least 24 hours.

Fark James Woods. He can spend his free time not working sitting his old wrinkled butt in therapy trying to figure out why he only dates teenagers. Here’s a hint, bitchy grandpa, you’re in it for the power and control. *fart noises*

    • BearcatLawyer says:

And still they have the temerity to call us “snowflakes.”

    • Darla says:

I forgot about his disgusting dating habits.

    • holly hobby says:

There is a limit to tolerance. They should be glad they aren’t shamed for spouting off their bs. However, they shouldn’t expect people to want to be friends with or work with them for what they spout off.

      • jan90067 says:

But they are! 😄 See Kirstjen Nielsen was shamed out of the Mexican (HOW ironic) restaurant, Miller being run out of his dinner place, and Pruitt being shamed by that mother with her baby. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK PEEPS! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

  9. Rapunzel says:

Dear James: Lost an agent? I really don’t care, do u?

    Signed, all real patriots

  10. BearcatLawyer says:

Again, people, it is only okay for bakers to refuse to bake cakes for same sex weddings. Everyone else should be forced to work for/with people whose beliefs they find abhorrent. And in this case, should work to make an avowed racist, misogynist, hateful man even wealthier. 🙄

That is not how free speech works. Woods can say pretty much whatever the hell he wants, but no one has to like it and he better be prepared to accept the consequences (like losing his agent, manager, business partners, and job opportunities).

  11. Melly says:

Alex Jones made a video about how James Wood losing his agent was the beginning of the new American civil war. I didn’t think anyone could see James Woods as being that important lol

  12. SamC says:

Being a Deplorable is, hard to believe, the lesser of James Woods issues.

  13. aqdgsbh says:

So if a black person went on a racist, unhinged rant about white people, James Woods would be A-OK with people hiring them because of free speech. OK then.

  14. minx says:

He’s ugly inside and out, always has been.

  15. HeatherMann says:

Ugh! I know my sister is a Republican and it makes me sick to my stomach. I try to bring up politics but she doesn’t engage and won’t discuss it with me. I know she voted for Trump. She also deletes anything political I post on her FB page. Other than her views she is a kind person and she was my best friend but I find myself pulling away from her. I can’t sleep at night thinking of what she supports! It’s even worse because our parents are deceased so she’s my only close family.

  16. Jamie says:

Um, where are his eyebrows? ?

  17. Moonpie says:

Right to free speech and right to have and voice a political opinion are the basics of western democracies. And nope, I doubt you can argue, that certain political opinions shouldn’t be said publicly. It doesn’t matter wether these opinions are “right” or “morally acceptable” or not. Right to free speech applies and you either accept that or you accept certain forms of censorship. But then do admit that.

That being said I don’t agree with Wood’s opinions. And it is probably better to part when your manager’s opinions do differ so much from your own and when that is a fair procedure I think I wouldn’t find that inacceptable. nevertheless free speech should be honoured.

    • Ange says:

Nobody is stopping him though? Free speech isn’t under attack no matter how much the right try and say it is.

  18. geneva says:

It sounds like the agent did his absolute best. I am glad to hear he took a stand…and probably did concern himself with his client’s reputation but suddenly said $(@) it.

I felt patriotic as well on the 4th of July. I live in Massachusetts and we have a Republican governor who is very popular and we have congressional leaders who are moderate liberals. I felt proud of my state and the people who live here. I gave myself permission to feel patriotic. Being a gun totting, venom spouting right wing nut does not give someone the right to claim they are the true patriots. That is far from the true meaning of being patriotic and if you come from a state like Massachusetts you stand on Revolutionary War battlegrounds and in the cemeteries where revolutionary war heroes are buried. In a way, these people fought and died in order to write our Constitution and set the course for our way of life…a lifestyle we have enjoyed and prospered in. Anyway, for James Woods to claim that his paranoid and incendiary Twitter rants are a right or privilege but being a good citizen and conscientious, hard working person like his agent is unpatriotic is what we need to remember…and flip this notion that patriotism gives you the right to incite violence and oppression is OK..in fact it is not OK James Woods. Kudos to your agent for doing his patriotic duty and calling you out.
