Involuntary grimace when I read this headline.

  2. isabelle says:

Joaquin is one of the best actors in Hollywood, period. I will watch it just for him to see what he does with it, even if it looks like garbage. Better than Jared Leto joker I would imagine.

Ughhh a young boy smelling his dad’s jock strap. OK Gain detergent you knew you’d get a lot of attention for this one. Yikes.

  4. Nicegirl says:

    Fitting

The Handmaid’s Tale didn’t go anywhere this season. She finally escapes, we have a great opportunity to have her in Canada, helping forces with inside information to overthrow Gilead and get her daughter back. Or maybe she escapes and gets a faux identity as am econowife working with Mayday. Instead we get a weird tug of war in almost escaping and returning, with no actual development.

Also the show keeps trying to make me feel bad for Serena Joy and that is not happening.

And why would you not just pull the red cord in the garage? It would have disengaged the door from the automatic opener and she could have pushed it open manually. Infuriating.

  6. Rescue Cat says:

Ceasar Romero was the best Joker and Adam West the best Batman. That show took the absolute piss out of Batman. It was awesome.

  7. Sally says:

I still think Joaquin Phoenix should have played Dr. Strange. He would’ve been great.

  8. Babs says:

I wish they’d stop with the joker. I loathe that character and I’m uncomfortable with the way he becomes more and more dark. It’s desensitizing.

  9. Lilly says:

I wish the narrative would change on the so-called faux pas with Meghan. But, then they’ll always have things they’ll find to nitpick, i.e. micro and not so microaggressions.

  10. Pixie Witch says:

I know I’m the only one on the planet, but I loved Leto’s Joker.

  11. Crackfox says:

Joaquin is a great actor and will probably do very well, but we need to give Joker a rest.

Then again, I LOVE Cameron Monaghan’s portrayal of The Joker on Gotham. I wish he could take the role to the big screen.

  12. nikki says:

Joaquin caught hell for that trolling garbage, but he’s a superb actor. If it gets decent reviews, I’ll watch it.

  13. Jo says:

I think Joaquin will be amazing. Jared Leto made me want to puke!
But seriously, when is this superhero/villain obsession going to pass… it’s sooooooooo boring.

  14. Miss M says:

Hahahahahahahahaha, Leto is not playing the Joker anymore! Hahahahah

  15. livealot says:

    I love Alexis’ outfit !

  16. Littlefishmom says:

    Ugh, noooooooo!!

  17. Veronica S. says:

Yeah, no shit Handmaiden’s Tale isn’t resonating – what woman enjoys misery porn of something that seems bleakly more relevant to the current climate? It’s a basic human condition that without hope, there’s no reason to be. Not to mention the character development being given to Serena Joy of all people – why humanize her? Why should anyone give a shit about her potential for redemption when she’s already done her damage?

And yes, race is a MASSIVE issue. The book explicitly acknowledges that regressive patriarchy in America would also return to intense racial division and white supremacy. There’s no reason for that to be ignored in the show, particularly in this climate.

  18. Potemkin says:

Jared Leto must be so annoyed

  19. SM says:

Err, wasn’t he one of those actors that see themselves as “above” big budged superhero movies? Or am I confusing him with mainly any other actor, that is before they get offered a comics role?

  20. Maria_spain says:

yes!!!!! So glad to know it, he is perfect for the role. love him as an actor , his personal life is not my bussiness.
