The Idiot Abroad Part II: Baby Trump descends on England, and so does a blimp

Threatening looking Trump Baby Balloon

The Idiot Abroad Part Two. Donald Trump left Brussels yesterday after causing absolute chaos at the NATO meeting. Our historic European alliances are in tatters, and Putin got what he wanted: a significantly weakened NATO. Funny how that works out, huh? Putin keeps a checklist and Trump keeps doing everything on Putin’s list. The Trump presidency might have been the best money Russia ever spent. Next up on Putin’s checklist was a deterioration of the British-American “special relationship,” yet another historic alliance. To be fair, Theresa May and Donald Trump already had a strained relationship before this week, and the special relationship was already in tatters too. But then Trump gave an unhinged interview to The Sun in which he lied about a million times and directly insulted May’s government, especially about the handling of Brexit. You can read the piece here – I’m not going to excerpt anything because it’s too depressing.

Meanwhile, the protests in London continue and I’m including some of the photos of the “Baby Trump” blimp. The blimp is good, but honestly… it actually flatters him a little bit? His skin’s not that tight and he’s actually a lot more orange than that. The Washington Post did a run through of Trump’s complete British itinerary, and it sounds like May is (wisely) keeping Trump out of London as much as possible, and away from seeing the huge protests. According to the WaPo, Trump was fine with that – the White House apparently made very few demands about where to go and who to see, and the White House didn’t even specifically request a meeting with the Queen. The Queen, it seemed, volunteered to have Trump over to Windsor Castle. The Prime Minister’s office seems to know Trump well enough to know that he’s only interested in the glitz and glamour and nothing else. Here’s what WaPo says about today’s meeting with the Queen:

The royals do not comment on politics, so there is unlikely to be any definitive public verdict on Trump’s visit with Elizabeth Friday. “The queen will know full well that he’s a big tweeter so she’ll be even more cautious as to what she says,” said Dickie Arbiter, the former press secretary for Elizabeth.

Tina Brown, an editor and author of books including “The Diana Chronicles,” said the queen, a deft mimic in private, is likely to be “quite amused” by Trump.

“She sits there looking plain in her poker face and no one knows what she’s thinking behind the mask,” Brown said. “But when she gets looser with friends, she loves to send people up.” The real estate magnate turned president, Brown added, will enjoy being in a “real live palace,” but may find Windsor lacking, at least in terms of his own showy preferences.

“Windsor Castle is a wonderful, old, extraordinary, grand castle, but it isn’t at all flashy,” she said. “English castles are often cold and drafty, and I think his attitude will be quite appraising of the fixtures and fittings, which is something the queen has never cared about.”

The best outcome, Brown concluded, may be a respectful and brief visit — just the latest chapter in Trump’s tangles with the monarchy.

“I think idea is flash him a few coronets and get him out of town, because he’s something of toxic guest at this moment and Theresa May has better things to do right now than expose herself to more bad press,” Brown said. “They’ll do this as fast and as well as they possibly can and then breathe a sigh of relief when he exits in an orange cloud.”

[From WaPo]

Oh God… Trump is going to tweet about the Queen, isn’t he? He’s going to make some deranged claim about giving the Queen a MAGA hat and the palace will be forced to issue a denial. I’m sorry, Britain. I’m so, so sorry about all of this.

I wish I was at the march today and i’m so proud of everyone participating. We just need May to grow a pair and to stand up to Trump.

    • Clare says:

I was at one of the local marches yesterday and it was good to see people still standing up for what’s right.

I am hoping with all my might that May won’t let this moron bully her into changing her stance on a Brexit that treats Europeans/immigrants like humans.

Also: American friends, I am yet to meet a single person in the U.K. who likes Trump or agrees with his stance on immigration. I know I exist in a bubble, but your President is a liar!

      • IlsaLund says:

He’s the Bigliest buffoon and liar ever.

        #NotMyPresident

      • Christin says:

Our apologies for the disruption being caused by the Orange one and his wax figure trophy.

      • Esmom says:

Thank you, Clare, for standing against Trump. And for recognizing what many Americans sadly don’t, that he’s an egomaniacal, amoral and ignorant menace.

      • Kitten says:

I mean…why would any civilized EUer like this sh*tbag?

The thing that drives me batshit crazy is that the Deplorables looooove that he is so despised by the rest of the world. I think they view it as some sort of badge of honor like “Trump doesn’t let anyone push him around! He marches to the beat of his own drum!”
While the rest of us just see a f*cking bull in a China shop, Putin’s puppet hellbent on isolating the US from the rest of the world.

The best was hearing the description of the balloon on the news: “depicting President Trump as a large, temperamental baby.” LMAO

      • minx says:

We know he’s a fcking liar, believe me.
I’m very happy he mentioned the baby blimp. You know that has to be killing him, he can’t stand embarrassment or mocking.

      • Jan90067 says:

London has always been the city that has my heart. One of my favorite places. And never more so than now! Thank you London! Thank you, Britain, for every sign, for every one of you that turned/turns out protesting… thank you from the bottom of my heart!

        #notmyshitstain

      • ChillyWilly says:

        Piers Morgan loves him!

      • Masamf says:

And the icing on the cake? The blimp and massive protests were covered and shown by every news outlet worldwide. Terrific. 😂😂😂😂

      • JustJen says:

Thank you for protesting. My daughter and I did the first march last year in DC and then this year in Cleveland. I’m so embarrassed that this f***wit is our representative to the world. I want to bury my head in the sand til it’s over but I know I can’t.

      • Lee Kuhl says:

Thank you, you wonderful BRITS!! I wish I could come over to kiss and hug everyone one of you! I am absolutely disgusted that this lying buffoon won the election. It has come to the point that I cannot watch/read the news without becoming unhinged. Your demonstration and your commitment to express your outrage is truly inspiring! May all of his travels worldwide be as grand as the reception that you brought to this buffoon/bully/narcissist/sexual predator and his decimation of the planet. May he rot in hell, hopefully sooner than later.

    • Jan90067 says:

Funniest thing ever: yesterday The New Yorker ran a gag article saying the Queen was cancelling the netting due to a flare up of BONE SPURS! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 IF ONLY!!!!!!!

    • AnnaKist says:

I agree with all your comments – nothing to add. What I do need to know, though: What’s Karl Pilkington’s conclusion on all this!? It’s important.

    • Carol says:

I wish the floating orange blimp was our president instead of the orange blimp sitting in the Oval Office. Floatie would do a better job

      • minx says:

Someone replaced Trump in photos with the baby blimp, so it looks like the blimp is walking next to May, coming down the stairs of Air Force One, etc. Hilarious.

  2. BlueSky says:

    Liz,girl, I am so sorry.

  3. Surely Wolfbeak says:

On Boris Johnson: “Well, I am not pitting one against the other. I am just saying I think he would be a great prime minister. I think he’s got what it takes.”

It’s a set up. He really can’t handle women in power.

    • Rachael Prest says:

Also, Boris doesn’t have what it takes. He’s a complete buffoon.

      • Toot says:

        Sounds just like Trump then.

      • Clare says:

I suspect Boris is actually very very clever – he is just a disgraceful human who will literally destroy whatever (including our economy) that comes in the way of his ambition. F him.

      • Josie says:

Clare, Boris is nowhere near as clever as he appears, and don’t let the scruffy charm fool you, most of the voting public in the U.K. now knows what an opportunist he is.

He’s a classic case of white, class privilege (Eton and Oxford).

      • Clare says:

@Josie I hope you are right but I’m not sure – sadly and embarrassingly even I voted for him for Mayor of London some years ago. Ugh

      • Digital Unicorn says:

Boris has a rep for being a nasty bully, there were many stories about his behaviour when he was Mayor of London. He’s an opportunist like Trump. He wants to be Prime Minister and doesn’t care how he gets it. He’s just as vile as Trump. The British people will not have him as PM and am sure he’s already planning a coup.

      • Josie says:

Yeah, I had a friend who voted for Boris as Mayor because he wanted to let motorbikes ride in the bus lanes 🙄

I grew up in the 80’s in a safe Conservative seat, so I was never going to vote Tory. At least everyone knows what he’s about now.

    • noonoo says:

I agree Surely. He doesn’t like to think women in power could be on an equal footing with him so he seeks to undermine them whilst banging on about how great and powerful America is (if he can’t undermine the women then why not resort to the old toddler attitude of ‘my country’s bigger than yours’). Look at how he acted with Angela Merkel!

    • Mara says:

I’m getting a bit worried that attitudes to Trump are beginning to normalise.
When he was first elected I didn’t know anyone in the UK who did not despise him but yesterday two of my colleagues said that although they disliked him, they were impressed that he seemed to have done everything he said he would (Ha!). And these were intelligent grown women (one black, one white if race has got anything to do with it.)
Some of the headlines in the UK this morning were also worryingly not exactly anti-Trump.
Is anyone else finding this? We need to get this guy gone as soon as possible before he infects anyone else.

      • Zapp Brannigan says:

I find some people kind of just shrug at what he does, like he has pulled so much $hit people are at $hit saturation point and stuff is just passing them by, that is the scenario here in my corner of Ireland and honestly I am terrified by what his legacy will be, it will impact everyone.

      • Darla says:

Yes, he has been normalized by the american press from day 1, and I guess that is spreading.

      • Jaii says:

This very much so!! My best friend and future sister in law turned around last night and said “well at least he gets s*** done, unlike May” and I was absolutely gobsmacked. I thought at first it was genuine nievety so tried to explain about the Muslim ban. How if me and parents were refugees now going to the States, and not welcomed here to the UK nearly 20 years ago what would have happened to us . Had no effect she still stuck by it even when her brother and I showed his links to the KKK , now this is a woman married to a black man with 3 mixed race children… i have never questioned our friendship up until now … I just don’t understand it 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • magnoliarose says:

I think it is because Putin wants a hard Brexit to finish off the UK for good. Already after Brexit the UK will be severely compromised and dependent on whoever will establish trade but with a hard Brexit, the economy will be in such a disaster that Scotland will be forced to vote for Independence to save themselves.
Brexiteers are as dumb as Deplorables. 45 will be gone one day but this Brexit vote is a lot more serious. And that is saying something.

      • Darla says:

Yeah, I think Brexit would be getting a lot more attention as a huge, historic disaster, were it not for the Trump card America pulled.

      • Clare says:

Magnolia – I think you’re right and I feel so very sad.

Watched the joke of a press conference with the two buffoons this afternoon and its just sick.

      • magnoliarose says:

It makes me sad. There is so much to love about the UK and I have a lifetime of great memories and so many loved ones there that it feels personal. Not as much as 45 but close.

      • jwoolman says:

Brexit seems so baffling to me, but I’m not British so take this all with a bucket of salt. Still, as an American, I would think the future of the U.K. is with Europe and not with the USA.

My country is an empire in decline. Most of our tax money is wasted on wars and paying for past wars. Our military budget is far more than the sum total of all military budgets in the entire rest of the world but our war veterans (an endlessly growing stream of them, since we’ve been at war continuously since the early 1940s) have benefits cut to pay for current wars. Military spending is pretty much a dead end and today mainly goes in the pockets of the war profiteers. President Eisenhower saw this coming back in the 1950s and warned about how dangerous it was, but the military-industrial complex has just grown and grown since then.

Even without the current ignorant buffoon we have as POTUS, I wouldn’t count on that “special relationship” with the USA to be so great for the U.K. compared with tossing your lot in with the European Union. The US will draw you into more wars and pointless military spending, but that’s about it.

If we ever get a rational President again — President Obama had warned that for practical reasons, the UK will not be at the head of the line for trade negotiations with the US. It makes more sense for us to primarily work with the EU as a much larger market.

    • hogtowngooner says:

NYT ran a scathing opinion piece on him the other day: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/10/opinion/boris-johnson-resignation-brexit.html

    • Mac says:

Why doesn’t he just go all in and say Meghan Markle’s father has been treated very unfairly.

  4. IlsaLund says:

Deepest apologies to our U.K. brethren for the orange shit stain defacing your beautiful country with his presence.

I’m loving the blimp though. That idiot abroad has told so many lies and caused so much disruption on this trip, my head is spinning. But that’s what he does best….create havoc and confusion wherever he goes because that’s how he keeps “winning.” I’m sure he’ll say some stupid thing about meeting with the Queen. Too bad she doesn’t have a framed photo of the Obama’s on display when he visits…..that would get to him…lol.

I’ve never wished something I’ll to happen to anyone, but he is definitely the exception.

    • Noodles says:

I love that newsreaders here are almost speechless. They’ve clearly never seen anything like it. To be honest, I don’t know why they weren’t expecting this

    • Jan90067 says:

Wasn’t that, ultimately, Bannon’s (whom Dump is still in contact with ) and Miller’s plan? To create chaos and the rebuild in the ashes what they want in its place. Both have publicly said as much.

    • magnoliarose says:

@Ilsa I understand what you are saying.

I am no longer ashamed of my dark feelings about him. I embrace them now because it inspires me. It is hard to explain but I had to learn that anger can be productive. I have always believed hate is wrong and I still do. But I hate him and it doesn’t feel wrong. I refuse to feel guilty about that either.

      • Christin says:

Frustration can become fuel. It can be a positive force.

I am in awe of my cousins in England. You know how to do things right (blimp, signs, filling the streets). Many thanks for showing that lies matter, and Mango is not as popular as he thinks.

      • magnoliarose says:

England’s display is like a big old hug from across the pond. It is fantastic.

  5. Snap Happy says:

Of course he doesn’t want to meet the queen. She isn’t 22 and stacked. He’s so awful.

    • Christin says:

Curious to know if he’ll make a Diana reference, since he claimed he wanted to date her in the 1990s. She was smart enough to steer clear.

  6. Lotusgoat says:

    Dream scenario:

The British has been planning another takeover for years. They get Trump into the palace, dispose of him, then replace him with an imposter. Easy to fake being a boorish ass for a while. The imposter gets close to pence one day, takes him out, and then America is once again under British rule. Once things settle down, they apologize and let us go back to how things were, and we have an election that isn’t a clusterf*ck.

And we all lived happily ever after.

    • Esmom says:

Lol. Any scenario that gets those guys out of the WH is a dream scenario to me. I like it.

    • magnoliarose says:

So basically Meghan is a plant. Hmmmmm. She’s there to collect intell and has been groomed from birth for this moment. *nods with steepled fingers*

  7. RBC says:

I can just see the Queen in front of a mirror practising her best RRBF( Royal Resting Bitch Face) and sipping on a G&T. One of her ladies in waiting knocks at the door and says the trumps have arrived. The Queen mutters under her breath “ Bloody hell, I should have just had the gin straight. I don’t have a good buzz going yet”
Downs her drink, takes one last look in the mirror. Turns to the lady in waiting and says” Let’s get this over with, damm I wish Anne had been free to take my place”

    • Chrissy says:

LOL! Anne would rip him one. She suffers no fools and the Orange Turd is the biggest fool ever.

  8. Lightpurple says:

Tale as old as time, true as it can be. Barely even friends …

Which Disney character will Melanie be today?

    • RBC says:

Judging by the yellow dress, I would say Belle from “Beauty and the Beast”
But that would mean 45 would be the “Beast”. Except the Beast actually had a heart and dressed better

      • Lightpurple says:

Belle was last night for dinner with Theresa May. Today is tea with the Queen. I’m hoping for Cruella De Vil.

      • Giddy says:

Cruella? A little doggy/corgi trim on her outfit? TQ would. use her superpowers to blast Melania into deepest space.

      • Lady D says:

When it comes to blasting people into outer space, Daisy did it best.

    • Millenial says:

I actually really like the yellow dress. Too bad the person wearing it is so deeply unlikeable.

      • Esmom says:

Yeah, she gets zero cookies from me for slapping his hand away now and then. She’s fine with Trump’s havoc. She is complicit.

      • Kitten says:

Really? OMG I think it’s so awful. And I usually like her fashion choices…

      • Swackd says:

The dress does nothing for her. I don’t like it either.

      • Darla says:

        She looks ridiculous.

      • Olenna says:

Agree, Darla. It’s a Grecian nightmare. With all that fabric and draping, she could probably take flight like a harpy by just flapping her arms.

      • Who ARE These People? says:

It’s floor-length peignoir. WTF is wrong with Melanie.

      • minx says:

It’s a Dynasty dress, tacky. Hate her sugar baby hair.

      • chips n sticks says:

The first thing I thought when I saw the dress was literally WTF. It’s got to be one of the ugliest things I’ve ever seen. I mean, does she think it looks regal? Is she trying to convince her husband to crown himself King of America so she can be queen and wear a crown? That dress is 10 kinds of crazy.

    • RBC says:

In that case I would go with Ursula from Little Mermaid.

    • Christin says:

She’s favoring bandage-chest looking dresses these days. She used to prefer no frills on the bustline.

Now that would be a perfect way to disguise healing from a lift/smaller implants.

    • Shambles says:

I’m glad someone else wanted to talk about that dress (tacky, and she’s overdressed). If Belle had a terrible facelift and the Beast was a white supremacist. Emma Watson wore it better.

  9. aquarius64 says:

London gets style points for the Baby Trump balloon and it is hurting his feelings. I am afraid the Cambridges and Sussexes will be called in at the last minute to come to Windsor for a meet and greet to see Trump, to soothe his bruised ego.

    • perplexed says:

Would either William or Harry actually be willing, considering the comments he once made about Diana?

      • Christin says:

Think of the dumb things that could be said to them. Their mother (wisely) ignored him, and he cannot stand that.

      • notasugarhere says:

He also tweeted comments about Kate’s topless photo scandal at the time. More reason why they wouldn’t want to meet him.

  10. Maya Memsaab says:

Can’t wait to be at the Edinburgh protests tomorrow. I anticipate that Scottish protest signs will be wickedly funny and brutal.

    • Clare says:

We can always count on the Scots to make us laugh when things are bleak!

    • Anna nuttall says:

Yes! My cousins are traveling up to participate in that. I hope Scotland giver him hell.

    • Shambles says:

I love your city. I was just there last month and I have never been more enchanted by a place. Love it even more knowing there will be marches! Thank you for resisting our overlord.

    • notasugarhere says:

Something like the restaurant in London giving out “free bags of fish guts to throw at Trump”?

    • magnoliarose says:

Bless the Scots and their irreverence. And to think his mother was from Scotland. It makes it extra special to see he is not welcome. He golfs too! Lol

  11. Indiana Joanna says:

Drump is clearly, clearly a Putin puppet. His interview with the Sun criticizing May was horrifying.

I think he will try to debase the castle just because. I hate this pathetic excuse for a human being. And his grifter family.

    • ichsi says:

This did it for me. I mean, it was clear what he was from the beginning but now he dropped even the last bit of pretense. He’s a Putin puppet and it escapes me HOW there are still people who do not see the absolute betrayal that’s RIGHT THERE in front of their eyes. HOW??!!

      • Louisa Wright says:

They do see it. They just don’t care as long as it keeps them in power.

      • notasugarhere says:

There are supporters of Trump, the ones slogging their guts out in factory who think he cares for them? They support Putin, they see him as a strong and decisive leader. They don’t care that Russia stole the election, because they like Putin and wanted Trump in no matter what.

      • jwoolman says:

Notasugarhere – The average income of a Trump supporter is $72,000, which is more than anybody in in my immediate family ever made. If they are slogging away in factories, at least they are very well paid.

People with lower incomes voted more for Hillary Clinton. The idea that “economically stressed” people voted in droves for Trump is a myth.

      • notasugarhere says:

that is what makes it so fascinating and confusing. They are people earning good livings working in trades, but vote against their own best interests (unions, health care, child tax credit). They voted for him to get a cut in taxes, while being unable to understand that all the other things he has destroyed will cost them more in the long run.

    • Nic919 says:

Dump is a traitor and I can’t believe he has been getting away with so much.

  12. Clare says:

How mad do we think the buffoon is that the ‘cool’ Royals (will, late, harry, meg) don’t want to meet him? I will bet money Charles refused to meet him, too, given his enduring love for the environment.

Does anyone have a list of the business leaders who attended that farce (dinner) last night? 🤢

  13. Rescue Cat says:

I predict Boris Johnson will end up being the PM. He and Trump will get on like a house on fire.

    • Who ARE These People? says:

It’s clear that Putin would like install Boris Johnson as PM, that’s all.
      Safeguard your elections, Britain!

      • iman says:

Or Corbyn. Putin favours whatever makes a country other than his own unstable and restless and either Johnson or Corbyn will make that wish a reality. The UK is lacking in competent leaders at the moment, bar Nicola Sturgeon.

    • Jasmine18 says:

Boris Johnson has to be elected Conservative leader first. I’m hoping there are enough disgusted Con MPs to prevent that happening.
He really would sell his granny, wife and kids for power and influence.

  14. Eric says:

    Dear British friends:

Sorry for the inconvenience. We are working on it.
Hopefully soon Emperor Zero will up and disappear like an orange fart in the wind.

    Sincerely,
    Sane Americans

  15. grabbyhands says:

That baby blimp picture with the “Trump is a C*nt” sign.

Now that is a great way to start the day. I am going to be busting up all day over that. I can’t wait to see the signs from the Scotland protesters.

    • Esmom says:

Yeah, I would love to see a balloon like that here in Chicago. Maybe flying next to Trump Tower.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

I was at the march in Downing Street earlier and my fave sign was ‘Trumps another pr!ck with no wall’.

      • Indiana Joanna says:

I saw that! Perfection. Thank you so much! Love the Brits for talk ng down the Orange Neanderthal.

    • notasugarhere says:

There were a few “Feed him to the Corgis” signs.

Trump Dalek rolling in a protest march, complete with comb over

  16. perplexed says:

I think I prefer the boring fashion of the royals to Melania’s. She always looks so…shallow and vain.

    • magnoliarose says:

She always looks like an oligarch’s sidekick. Her wigs are atrocious and she usually looks overdressed or like she is wearing a costume.

      • Indiana Joanna says:

Perfect description. I hated the dress and she looked as elegant as one of drump’s gold embossed toilet seats. I much preferred May’s red sheath gown.

      • liriel says:

To be honest usually she looks really well and elegant. Classy and snobby but I like her style. This dress is hideous though.

  17. Thalia says:

His helicopter keeps on flying over my office (too scared to drive anywhere) and people (me included) keep yelling ‘oh do fuck off’ whenever they come over..

  18. jwoolman says:

I doubt Donald could damage NATO. They all know what an ignorant idiotic blowhard he is. Congress made it clear that the Orange Cheese stands alone in this.

    • Eric says:

      Jwool:
Also the Pentagon has been feverishly phoning allies reassuring them that Emperor Zero stands alone on negative NATO comments.

Ok…well…EZ stands with Putin…or kneels. Whatever.

      • Indiana Joanna says:

So much a Putin puppet. I posted the comment on Macron’s Twitter account that drump is unquestionably a Putin tool and some day soon we will know the reason why. I got about 15 remarks from trumpers. Their Twitter profiles were littered with dozens of emoji crosses as their responses showed they do not even read anything beyond their Twitter feed.

        I just blocked them.

      • magnoliarose says:

Twitter is full of trolls and bots. As is FB. There are so many fake accounts that it is better to just block as many of them as you can.

  19. Mara says:

Just popped out to see the blimp and march on my lunch break as I work nearby. The blimp’s not as big as it looks (more like just a big balloon). I’m impressed how many people were able to get away to March on a working day.

  20. Jane says:

It would be great if the blimp made its way to every country he travels to. Then for the crowning moment- have it shown at the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade every year.

  21. Eric says:

I’ve heard a massive EZ balloon is in the works in the States.
I guess Americans always believe bigger is better, but in this case I hope so!!!

    • Fluffy Princess says:

Please, please, please, please let that be true!! Fly it by the White House 24/7! And one for Mar-a-Lago, too!!

  22. homeslice says:

Baby Cheeto Blimp gives me life. Thank you to our friends in London for standing with us against this orange boil on the butt of humanity!!

  23. D says:

That yellow dress is being besmirched by the lump of crap wearing it

  24. Wood Dragon says:

Oh, Trump is going to either fawn sickeningly and preen over his visit to Windsor, or he’s going to insult the place for not being up to his standards. Expect him to lie about the Queen in some fashion, like how she really approves of him etc.
Now if the Queen wanted to make a statement afterwards, she could make a big show of receiving Obama as a simple guest soon afterwards, huge relaxed smiles and everything.

    • notasugarhere says:

After the I Can’t Believe They Did That meeting of Felipe and Letizia with Orange Menace and Birther Wife?

Obama and Felipe had a private visit to a Spanish museum together.

      • magnoliarose says:

Sigh. They would visit a museum. Felipe and Obama have similar demeanors and senses of decency.

  25. LondonLozza says:

A friend of my Mum’s went to protest at Blenheim Palace last night. I’m super proud!
It was very English with lots of booing and hissing.

I suspect London town may be less polite though.

Nanny Big Crown should keep the corgis at hand to nip at his big fat bloated orange kankles.

    • Sterkviking says:

That is so great to hear. I have read this website for years and never commented. But I had to today to thank anyone who is marching in the U.K. against Trump.

It is scary to be an American today. I cried when Trump won, woke up in the middle of the same night, and then cried again when I remembered what happened. I had never done this with any other president, R or D.

But he is worse than I ever imagined. And it frightens me how people excuse his behavior and cannot see the corruption, lies, manipulation, and destruction of democracy.

So, thank you, Londoners!!!! You guys rock!

      • LondonLozza says:

@Sterkkviking … we Celebitchy readers from abroad know that not all Americans are like the Blimp Baby. But he does strike fear into us too, and I am so sorry that you feel that way.

Baby Blimp gave a totally unhinged interview to one of our rag news papers (The Sun) and then cried fake news. British people may be polite, but we have a very low tolerance for bullsh*t.

I live outside the UK now, but made a point of thanking all my friends who protested and asked them to give a loud boo hiss on my behalf.

      • minx says:

You should comment more. We all need to vent and rage against this moron. It really helps.

      • magnoliarose says:

        Agree with minx.
Talk it out. It also helps not to feel alone and know that strangers from different walks of life are on the same page.

  26. Shannon says:

One of the classic signs of an abuser is that he or she will try to alienate you from your friends and family (your allies, so to speak). Of course I’ve read that, but I know now from experience that is incredibly true. So now it’s like we’re all in an abusive relationship with Trump. OMG. I just wanna puke every day. This dude affects my psyche in an awful way.

    • Who ARE These People? says:

Been calling him the Abuser in Chief from the beginning.

    • Christin says:

Also the gaslighting. We’re all to think we’re wrong, crazy.

      • magnoliarose says:

He constantly gaslights. It really should be discussed more because he is wreaking havoc on the public’s mental health and there has been an uptick in mental health crises. We should keep an eye on those who have brain disorders because this constant onslaught has to be hitting them extra hard.

      • Christin says:

The classic movie Gaslight is perfect for today’s political climate. We’re all Ingrid Bergman, having our mental health assaulted daily.

  27. Digital Unicorn says:

He’s going to be pissing his pants at the thought of tea with TQ at Windsor, there r rumours that Jr and his new gf may join him as they r in Paris.

His interview with the Sun was strategic, he’s aiming for the idiots who voted for Beprexit based on what they read in the tabloids, our version of the deplorables. Plus it owned by Murdoch.

I saw that smaller version of the blimp in Parliament Sq and it was a vision of bueaty. There were many Americans there taking photos and mingling. There were a few Trump supporters there and they were getting a hard time, sadly it all were American, one was a white posh git.

    • Swackd says:

Glad there were Americans out and about. Read an article that said the Americans were told to stay low keyed while Trump was there.

      • Digital Unicorn says:

That was just fear monger8ng from the US embassy, we wouldn’t harass Americans just because they r American. It was a friendly and non confrontational atmosphere, the tourist were loving it.

      • magnoliarose says:

Ok, so I am to believe that the Brits would turn on American citizens? Like it is Beirut in the early 80s? FFS. That is a lie for the sake of the Deplorables. Make the Brit anger seem like it is unhinged and out of control.
Well, I would just end all sentences with sooorry and eh? and pretend to be from Toronto. Perhaps clutch some maple syrup while wearing a hockey jersey just for extra authenticity.

      • Swackd says:

@Digital Unicorn: I totally believe Brits wouldn’t turn on Americans. When I read the article telling Americans to stay under the radar I was appalled. My granddaughter and her other grandfather were in England last year and had nothing but great things to say about their stay. I have another friend that moved there about a year ago and always love seeing the posts she has about her various trips about England. Actually, you all have our backs better than some of our government officials.

      • notasugarhere says:

Katty Kay from BBC admitted on air that her friends and family refuse to visit the US anymore. Many people she talks to have stopped visiting in the past year and half and will not visit again until after Trump is out.

  28. Who ARE These People? says:

So many of these protesters are taking a day off work & he’s not even their president (though I think he gives a focal point for the shambles of the Brexit British government). Please, America, organize yourself a labour strike that will shut down the economy – stop waiting for weekends when it’s ‘convenient.’

  29. Beth says:

During the press conference with May this morning, he didn’t stop the lying or patting himself on the back. Me,me me! He’s bragging that NATO countries will be giving more money, and it’s all because of him. That’s not true at all. He said the nasty Sun interview was fake news. Does dumbass Donnie forget there’s a recording of the interview which the world has been listening to for hours?

    • notasugarhere says:

Didn’t stop kissing Putin’s ass publicly either.

      • Indiana Joanna says:

I’m waiting for the reveal as to the exact reason baby blimp drump and his family are doing all Putin’s dirty work. Money, of course, and I believe a golden showers type blackmail scandal.

      • Beth says:

He can’t keep the “facts ” about his and Putins relationship straight. One day he’ll say they’re great friends with a good, longtime relationship, the next day he denies he’s ever met him.
I think Putin is blackmailing Trump and forced him to become president. Trump is clueless about the job, doesn’t seem to want to do it, and is doing everything Putin would want.

      • notasugarhere says:

Money and power. And getting back at Obama because Trump is that thin skinned he’d do all of this out of revenge to destroy everything Obama built.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

Plus the Sun hit back on their Twitter point out what he said.

      • DM2 says:

He really speaks with a forked tongue…that should be cut out.
I love when he said he’s only met Putin “one or two times…maybe two and a half times”. LOL. What a nimrod.

    • Christin says:

Maybe non-US media won’t be as kissy-poo and report the facts, not the lies and/or tweets. US media overall has done a horrible job of journalism when it comes to this Agent Mango.

    • Jan90067 says:

He truly is like an infant: no sense of permanence. If it isnt in eyeshot, it’s gone, disappeared, didn’t happen. Astonishing in a 70 year old. But then again, not an ounce of intelligence.

      • magnoliarose says:

That is a great description. lol
When my children were babies I remember how distraught some of them would be if I left the room for only a second. If they couldn’t see me then it meant I just vanished forever.

  30. Tashiro says:

    That blimp is great 😂

  31. Case says:

London has my heart for so many reasons. So proud of my home away from home today.

  32. Giddy says:

I’ve just been watching the protest crowd in Trafalgar Square and I want to shout a huge thank you to them, anyone who marched today, and anyone who will protest tomorrow. It makes me laugh to remember that when May originally invited the Trumpster (the previous cancelled trip) he envisioned getting to ride in a royal coach through the streets of London. Thank you Brits for giving him the welcome he deserves..

    • Indiana Joanna says:

It’s amazing! Thank you Great Britain. He’s our disaster, but you have been unbelievable in supporting us against him!

    • Deens says:

I was at the march today with an effigy of Trump but the head was a big poop balloon (the emoji type). It was great fun and lovely to see so many thousands of people united against hate. Office workers along Regent Street were waving and cheering from their windows and overall the tone was very much in theme with “Carnival of Resistance”! I look forward to seeing what Scotland rolls out tomorrow! With them, it’s personal.

      • Violette says:

Did your effigy have a blonde wig on top? If so I was right behind you at one point! Bravo!

Also there were many Americans also on the march from Portland Place to Trafalgar Square which was wonderful. Why on earth would Brits hurt Americans, what a nonsense. (Although I would like to throw eggs at Trump’s motorcade).

The march had a wonderful, fun atmosphere and I’m really glad that I went.

  33. Cay says:

I’d like to see how Prime Minister May is viewed by the British people after the press conference with Donald Trump. He kept going on and on about how great their relationship is. I’m not sure that’s the endorsement she wants at this stage of her career.

(That press conference was a sh-tshow. Wow. Trump told lie after lie. But what else is new?)

  34. The Original G says:

QE plays a role. She’ll do her diplomatic duty but she’s experienced enough to know how to do that without “giving” him anything.

If in spite of the brevity and neutrality he goes to assert some predictable bad taste observations, I believe his cancellation in Europe will be complete if it isn’t already.

I LOLd at “deft mimic in private.”

  35. Darla says:

Twitter is abuzz – Rosenstein is about to announce a new Mueller indictment. Don’t know who it is yet though.

    • The Original G says:

The Queen is just standing there waiting for him. Mmmm. Is there a connection?

      • Darla says:

I don’t know, I’m not getting my hopes up. Josh Marshall seems to think it’s going to be hacking-related. Which probably means russians. I guess we are going to find out very soon, David Corn just said the special counsel’s office is going to email reporters shortly.

    • Christin says:

Just in time for his royal visit — RR is expected to make an announcement shortly. This is a delightful Friday the 13th!

(No matter who is indicted, it will steal headlines from the little tea visit, just as the protests are doing so well.)

    • The Original G says:

I didn’t mean I thought it was Swamp indicted. I meant he would be freaking out in a Range Rover somewhere… ;-0

    • Beth says:

12 Russian military officers for DNC hacking

    • Darla says:

I guess it lays the groundwork for US indictments. There’s a congressman who received documents that he requested from these hackers. I don’t think he’s named in the indictment. I just wish we would move along with the American indictments because I can’t take much more of this.

      • magnoliarose says:

        Hugs.
This is good. It means behind the scenes people are working quietly doing the things the 45 monster isn’t.
Very well done on RR’s part. He did this a day after 45’s disastrous display at NATO and while he is making a further ass of himself in the UK. Also, a day after the GOP made complete fools of themselves at that hearing. Even Fox stopped showing it because the Repubs looked like a bunch of idiots.
When this is said and done I think we will be watching a shame parade of politicians and Fox news employees.

      • Darla says:

Hugs back Magnolia! Yes, it is good, there’s light coming.

  36. Insomniac says:

Looking at the Queen’s face, I haven’t looked that excited since I went in for my hysterectomy.

Did Rosenstein time this presser just to eff with Dump’s TV coverage with QEII? If so I approve.

  37. D says:

England the country we left has more freedom of speech at this point, great example England keep it up!!! Please allows
Don’t abandon you you truly are our only hope

  38. adastraperaspera says:

Rosenstein punching back! “We do not try cases on television or in Congressional hearings… We follow the rule of law.” Boom!

    • The Original G says:

So elegant. He tromped Trump’s vanity visit to the Queen and checkmated Trump on the upcoming Putin meeting. Beautiful.

I’m at home today and all network coverage has switched to the indictment story. Collusion?

    • Christin says:

Those elected bullies who were preening at yesterday’s hearing are probably whimpering right now.

Someone may need to check on Trey, Louie and the body language expert dentist.

      • Beth says:

I watched the whole thing yesterday, and my head is still spinning! What a bunch of desperate morons they are. Don’t forget to check on the screaming, question repeating Jim Jordan too.

  39. Lightpurple says:

12 Russian intelligence agents with links to Roger Stone! Indicted for hacking Clinton campaign, DNC and state election boards, stealing data of 500,000 voters. This is NOT over!

    • The Original G says:

Where did you hear the Roger Stone reference?

      • magnoliarose says:

Roger Stone too? Oooh yeah, Guccifer 2.0 is a Roger Stone operation. You know who else is connected to Roger Stone? Netanyahu. Please bring his corrupt smug bigoted ass down. The right wing Israelis are in this mess too and they have been stealing elections.
        This is big news.

  40. The Original G says:

    Well well. High f’in five!

  41. Incredulous says:

Also the hack occurred just hours after Trump, live on TV asked Russia for HER EMAILS.

Ladies and Gents, your NO COLLUSION!

    • Darla says:

Oops, I didn’t see this before I made my post, sorry.

      • Incredulous says:

I don’t have a monopoly on this stuff so no worries. Let’s all just bask in the indictments and hilarity that is the Republicans alienating the FBI.

    • Jerusha says:

For the low intelligence(all of them)Deplorables, it’s just a total coincidency-NBD. If he ordered them to literally drink the kool-aid, many if them would.

      • magnoliarose says:

        ^^Yes they would.^^
They will not get it even if they are shown graphs and live footage of him spelling out what he has done.

    • Fluffy Princess says:

So delicious. So, so delicious. My face is in “smug mode” today. Got you, you colluding asshat!

    • Indiana Joanna says:

If’s always been strange that drump from the start said Russia didn’t help him get elected. He said this over and over. Knowing how he announces his real intentions by repeatedly bring it up as a lie, he did know Russia had a hand in his election. Add to that all the Russian operatives he entertained post election in the White House. I have no doubt he colluded.

Now he is ignoring his own Intel chief Dan Coates on how alarming the Russian hacking is. He is a Putin puppet. And so are his children.

  42. Darla says:

    This is interesting:

indictment alleges Russia “on or about July 27, 2016” started trying to access Clinton’s personal emails. Which is the same day Trump gave his “Russia if you’re listening, I hope your able to find the 30,000 emails…” news conference.

I mean, it’s not close to over. It’s not happening fast enough for me, but when it happens, it’s going to be something, that is for certain. They are all in this up to their necks, and not just the trump family, but IMO, some members of congress too.

  43. Flying fish says:

    😂

  44. Jenns says:

Who is candidate that requested the hacked info?!? Is that person now in congress? We need to know this!

    https://twitter.com/pattymo/status/1017807100158906368

  45. Helen Smith says:

Right after the 2016 election someone reported the Queen’s response to meeting Trump. She said she would meet him because she has met every US president. Then, came the regal shade. Her Maj added to the end of her sentence seven though some US presidents are better than other ones.

    • Christin says:

I watched a clip of HM greeting the Baby and his walking wax figure. My concerns were that he would overdo the handshake. Have no idea if he did, because his wife’s butt cheeks (fully outlined in her too-tight skirt) we’re blocking the view.

Can no one in his orbit get appropriate clothes that fit properly for public events? I know it’s a minor point in the scheme of things, but they looked out of place with the Queen’s clothing perfection. She’ll have PLENTY to mimic and discuss.

  46. JenUK says:

Did you guys hear about the “f*ck Trump” crop circle?! I live not far from Chequers and was sad that today that the Cheeto In Chief was in my town… however my joy was restored to find out there were also local protests and this lovely “welcome” left for Trump in his flight path from London 😂

    https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.indy100.com/article/trump-uk-visit-crop-circle-message-russian-f-word-aylesbury-8445331%3famp

To our sane American Cousins; we stand with you and hope that you find a way to get his government out of office!

    • minx says:

Thank you so much. It really helps to know that the rest of the world sympathizes with our pain and disgust.

  47. Jerusha says:

Was that a remarkably brief tea? Seems to me the Ugly Americans got the bum’s rush from Her Majesty. Way to go QEII.

    • magnoliarose says:

TQ threw some hard shade at him. A brief tea at Windsor. Hahaha. That cracks me up.

      • IlsaLund says:

TQ did her royal duty as quickly as she could. She didn’t want Orangino and Melanie stinking up Windsor anymore than necessary….lol

      • B n A fan says:

I love the quick teas with the Queen, they came and left in one hour. I bet he was madder than a red hen. Then to rub salt in his wounded pride he had to fly wherever he went because he was afraid of the protesters, and march and protest they did for 8 hours today. Thanks to all the protestors, we love ❤️ you. So happy you did not lose your culture, 😆 or are afraid to show your support.

    • Christin says:

Wise move. I am surprised he didn’t have his family show up uninvited.

Imagine some of his small talk —
“I know you think I’m the greatest Prez you’ve ever met…”
“Ever thought about turning this little place into a hotel? We could put a golf course out back…”
“Terrific place. A little musty and not enough gold, but OK…”

    • Digital Unicorn says:

The visit apparently overran by about 15mins – he gave her a normal handshake thankfully, actually he looked nervous (TQ has that ability to make anyone nervous). When he was inspecting the troops you could see he was loving every single minute of that. Melania looked uncomfortable as always, even when TQ turned to make polite small talk with her on the platform.

I can’t believe he’s denying all the crap he talked to The Sun about as well as practically telling us to replace our PM (with someone much worse than May) and threatening us with no trade deal if he doesn’t get the Brexit he (or Putin) wants. FK OFF YOU C**T!!!

      • Anna nuttall says:

Did you see the video of him walking in front of the queen? Ha you should see her face! Proper Royal Bitch Face – love it!

      • Jerusha says:

Didn’t the Obamas get a sleepover? And were Charles, Camilla or any other Royal dragged into this mess?

    • nicole king says:

She only gave him 15 minutes of her time, ha ha!

  48. B n A fan says:

The report is, he was given an heads up last week that this incitement was coming down. Now I’m thinking this is one of the reason he was so unhinged, insulting our friends during this trip and why those congressmen were so unhinged yesterday. Now we have to wait for those who were in the Dotard’s campaign to fall like the logs they are. It’s getting hot in here. After Rosenstein dropped this little beauty today, the news coverage dropped the Dotard at Buckingham Palace coverage like hot mess🤮.

    • IlsaLund says:

You know Trumpmeister is gonna be pissed that Rosenstein stole all his media coverage. A-hole lives for the media coverage….what is life without it.

  49. jules says:

The protests are so fantastic (however tragic it is that they they’re even called for). Really proud of the Brits for voicing their opposition. He’s a vile, corrupt disgrace.

  50. liriel says:

To be honest, I’m just like you, I hate Trump but having said that I believe the Queen is very conservative, not feministic so I don’t think it was as much of a burden for her to meet with Trump. Dealing with Diana was probably more difficult.

    • Tina says:

Very few people in the UK are “conservative” like Trump is. Most UK Conservatives are not into things like more guns or banning abortion. HM is probably conservative in the sense of not wanting things to change.

  51. Dara says:

I don’t know if the entire list will fit here, but a WaPo editorial listed all the charges/guilty pleas that have resulted from the Mueller investigation:

*Trump’s campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, is currently in jail awaiting trial on multiple charges relating to his relationships with a Russian oligarch close to Putin and the former leader of Ukraine, widely considered a Putin puppet.

*Trump’s deputy campaign chairman, Rick Gates, pled guilty to lying to the FBI and conspiracy to defraud the United States, and is now cooperating with Mueller.

*Trump’s first national security adviser, Michael Flynn, pled guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russian officials, and is now cooperating with Mueller.

*A Trump foreign policy adviser, George Papadopoulos, pled guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with various Kremlin-connected figures and is now cooperating with Mueller.

*Konstantin Kilimnik, a Russian associate of Manafort, was indicted on obstruction of justice charges.

*Richard Pinedo pled guilty to identity fraud for selling stolen identities to Russians connected to the Mueller probe.

*Alex Van Der Zwaan, a Dutch banker and son-in-law of a Russian oligarch, pled guilty to lying to the FBI about his work with Manafort and Gates, and was jailed briefly and then deported.

*Thirteen individuals and three companies were indicted for their participation in a Russian scheme to conduct “information warfare” during the 2016 election in order to push voters away from Clinton and toward Trump, as well as undermining trust in the electoral system more generally.

*And now, eleven Russian military officials have been indicted for hacking into the email systems of the Democratic National Committee and various people connected to Hillary Clinton, including her campaign chairman, then disseminating the materials in carefully timed releases meant to maximize the political damage to Clinton.

*One of those 11, plus another Russian official, have also been indicted for hacking into the systems of state election agencies.

Holy sh*t. To quote the article – “If the investigation is a witchhunt, it sure is finding a lot of witches.”

  52. Original T.C. says:

    Thanks British pals!!!

With his attack on NATO, Germany, and the stzork FBI hearings Trump has finally crossed the line with the Pentagon and FBI. Both are now kicking azz and taking names. So many military officers going on TV to verbally protest his attack on NATO without the usual deference to the PTOUS. The gloves are off.

He has gotten away with so much for so long that he doesn’t realize this week was the turning point for an important wing of the GOP- the military industrial complex. With his Tariffs, the greedy business branch of the GOP will soon be in revolt as well as the Mid-West farmers. The Evangelicals will stick with him to the bitter end though.

  53. why? says:

It still feels like Mueller is coddling the Dotard, his kids, and republicans like Nunes, Gowdy, Graham, Chuck, Jim Jordan, and Matthew G. The Dotard is still sending this country down hill. I don’t know why T May keeps enabling the Dotard’s bad behavior. The leaders keep trying to play nice with the Dotard, only for him to stab them in the back. He did this to Macron and Trudeau. When will they learn?

    • Indiana Joanna says:

It seems to me they are taking the long view. They suspect drump won’t be in office after 2020 (if he’s not impeached as more information comes out regarding US citizens colluding with Russia hacking of our election).

These Mueller indictments have me convinced drump is knee deep in this. His Mafioso mindset would lead him to make deals with Putin.

  54. Teel says:

PROTOCOL!! Not only did he turn his back on the Queen, he walked ahead of her when viewing the troops. Not only the QUEEN, but an old lady! And her freaking troops!

Re: Putin and the closed door session? He’s getting a pat on the head by his handler Putin, and maybe a half promise he won’t abduct his daughter-wife. Maybe a discount on the loans he owes the Russian government?

Thank you, America, for voting this asshole in. The rest of the world thinks you’re awesome. We’d like you to vote against in November, please.

  55. Anare says:

Dear Brits you’re the best! Thanks for coming out in droves to protest the insane orange clown who polluted your lovely country. The baby trump blimp was an especially nice touch. Also the F*ck Trump crop circle. ❤️ Sorry you had to put up with all that nonsense. Especially feel bad that the Queen had to waste her time on that moron. We wish she would have ripped him a new asshole and threatened to lock him in the tower. Seriously we love her. Do you think she would take us back?

  56. Sarah says:

There is so much xenophobia regarding Melania, the hypocrisy is insane! Had she been British you would jave declared her your own personal muse!!!!!! Eastern European women are very grounded and family-oriented, we don’t need this type of vitriol in our lives. I understand if you don’t lile him, but she has nothing to do with hos policies

  57. why? says:

The press and civility democrats give way too much credit to the Dotard’s base and secret Dotard voters. When it comes to the polls, midterms, and 2020 election, it’s not the Dotard’s base they need to be worried about. It’s the bots/trolls. The majority of the Dotard’s base consists of bots/trolls, he and his staff have been guilty of retweeting those bot/troll accounts. The same bots/trolls who hacked into our power grid. The same bots/trolls who organized Trump rallies against immigrants. The same bots/trolls who impersonated BLM. The same bots/trolls who initiated and spread stand for the anthem and walk away. The same bots/trolls who have been trolling polls and messing with the results to make the Dotard look good(the polls that say that 58% think that the Dotard is intelligent, show an increase in his approval rating, and that Mueller is losing support for his investigation even though polls taking weeks before this show the opposite). The press falls for it every time. These bot/trolls hacked into our power grid, so why does the press continue to ignore the role they are playing in these polls? The Dotard will win in 2020 because just like the civility democrats the press is being reckless and stupid.

The press needs to stop talking to certain reporters(Philip Rucker, Kristen W, Bob Costa, Ashley Parker, Maggie H, Micheal S, Jonathan S, Kelly O, Peter A, Haillee Jackson) because it’s clear that they are speaking on behalf of the Dotard. They try way too hard to normalize the Dotard. Tara keeps telling people that the Dotard is strategic. Nothing about the Dotard is strategic and it’s bad to keep letting her spread this nonsense because she was on the Apprentice and doesn’t want to be too disloyal to the Dotard.

Best headline about the beloved Trump blimp yet.
BTW, thank you for your ongoing commentary on the Trump administration to date – it’s well-researched, smart & clever.

Is T. May wearing a nicotine patch on her left arm? Just curious what that little white patch is.
