Meghan Trainor in white Christian Siriano at the Grammys: fashionable or fug?

Meghan Trainor was at the Grammys with her new husband, Daryl Sabara. They talked to Ryan Seacrest (ugh) about being married and their honeymoon with family and how in love they were. They’re definitely loved up and very into each other, but I got a possessive vibe from him and I worry about her. She was in a very deep neck white Christian Siriano pantsuit with big shoulder pads and lines of sequins. I didn’t see any wardrobe slips but I would be so nervous wearing this. The idea of this suit is better than the execution as there’s something off about the fit. It could be that it’s just so revealing.

Tori Kelly won Best Gospel Performance for “Never Alone” and Best Gospel Album for Hiding Place. She was in a simple black strapless column dress with a high leg slit. I love her curly hair and styling, she’s so pretty.

Lauren Daigle always makes an impression on me on the red carpet. She’s a Christian singer, I honestly barely know her, but she has such an earth girl aesthetic and I love to see what she’s wearing. Plus she was really sweet in her red carpet interview with Giuliana Rancic. This dress looked much better during that interview when I could only see it from the waist up. She won Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for Look Up Child and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for “You Say.”

Alessia Cara was in a black Self Portrait eyelet dress that looks straight out of dELiA*s.

Anna Kendrick had on a baby pink feathered Ralph & Russo dress which looks straight out of Vegas. It has mirror sequins, it’s very short, and this looks more like a performance dress than a presenter look. Still I guess the Grammys is the place to wear this.

Finally Ashlee Simpson was in a feather and sequin Georges Chakra pantsuit. This is wacky and fun, I like it.

Ashlee Simpson’s dress for me. Her plastic surgery is very good. Hope she stops there.

    • Sayrah says:

      Ashlee looks like jlo

    • Kitten says:

I feel like she did the nose job and some lip injections…has she done more than that? She looks really pretty and I know that others say it makes her look older but I disagree–I think she looks young and fresh. I like her outfit here–it’s weird but it works.

      • Alexandria says:

Nose definitely but I don’t know about the rest. Maybe Botox for the jaws. She still has a resemblance with her sister and I don’t see how she looks older than her husband. I don’t see much of J Lo either.

      • lucy2 says:

Definitely a nose job which she was open about, and I think it was extremely well done and flattering. She looks really great.

I just looked it up, she’s 34 – I think she looks just right for her age. Are the people who think she looks older still imagining her as a 20 something?

    • Redgrl says:

At a quick glance I thought Ashlee Simpson was Heidi Klum! Her husband has had some strange work done too – his face is disturbing to me. As for Meghan Trainor, just no. That slashed down to the navel look needs to stop. I love Anna Kendrick and would love to bring her along on a girls’ night out – she strikes me as bright and funny and a total hoot.

  2. PhillyGal says:

I don’t understand the need of some of these celebrities to show their private parts. I kept waiting for a boob to fall out of Meghan’s dress.

  3. Loopy says:

Her and her hubby are so cute and into each other.

  4. Chaine says:

Megan’s hair and makeup and the earrings are fantastic, the pant suit isn’t awful, but it’s not a winner either. I like that it’s white, that’s a good color on her.

Ashlee’s plastic surgery has gotten to the point that she looks older than her age, She needs to stop. Her husband always gives off kind of a D bag vibe, this event is not an exception.

  5. grabbyhands says:

    So, so awful.

She looks like she came from an audition for an Abba tribute band.

And I see the trend of weirdly cut, blah colors outfits has infected the Grammys as well. At least Tori Kelly looks glamorous. I’ll give Anna Kendrick a pass too, even though this seem like it would have been better suited to the MTV Music Awards instead.

  6. She looks like ziggy stardust’s photo negative.

  7. Lizzie says:

    Ashlee Simpson looks incredible.

Meghan Trainor looks….her earrings are pretty. Great ears.

    • FuefinaWG says:

Ashlee’s outfit was my favorite; I would wear this.
Meghan Trainor’s outfit would have looked good if she pulled out the shoulder pads and had the sleeves at the correct length. It almost looks like they put shoulder pads in to pull up the sleeves. In the dress she has the form of Frankenstein’s monster … if he was wearing a dress at the Grammy’s.

  8. Amanda says:

I always feel like Anna Kendrick hasn’t found her personal style yet. She has a very all-over-the-place approach to fashion and, sadly, not much of what she chooses suits her.

I’ve heard some unkind things said about the way Alessia Cara looks, but I just find her so pretty. She has such a lovely face. I like her dress and her styling, even if it is a little low-key for the Grammys.

  9. PlayItAgain says:

Anna looks like a party favor. It works for her. I like it!

I swear I’ve seen that white pantsuit before on someone else years ago. The patches of sequins on the shoulders especially look familiar. Hmmm…

    • SK says:

I like Anna’s dress too! It’s cute and fun.

In regards to the pantsuit – unfortunately that open and loose at the cleavage look only works on skinny girls with small to non-existent boobs. On anyone with actual boobs it looks slutty. I learned this the hard way when I suddenly got boobs at 18. My loose halters and drapey tops suddenly looked tarty and my boobs would pop out of them at inopportune moments – regardless of the amount of double-sided boob tape in use! It took me a while to realise that I needed either a bra or a lot of structure to hold my girls in place.

  10. HK9 says:

Meghan looks uncomfortable, as if she’s worried the double sided tape won’t hold. I think it’s a nice look though.

  11. MeghanNotMarkle says:

I like Meghan’s outfit. It’s very David Bowie and I loved Bowie. But I also love Christian Siriano and I’m angry that my best source for sitting shoes for work closed down a few weeks ago.

Alessia Cara looks pretty and appropriate. I applaud her for not having to show off her lady bits for this occasion.

  12. Amy Too says:

I just….. What is going on with fashion lately? Like the past five years or so have been so bad. It seems like all the designers are just flailing around and no one seems to be a confident, visionary designer making beautiful, flattering, and inventive dresses anymore. There doesn’t seem to be any kind of even remotely cohesive “look,” right now, I like in the past where there were certain trends and silhouettes. Everything is all over the place. Designers are either doing the “victorian ghost look” with the old timey silhouette that is done in some kind of beige color, or they’re doing the “crazy 1980s living room accessory look” in which one wears a dress that is covered in crazy colors, patterns, beads, stones, glitter, tulle, ribbon, and other embellishments, or they’re doing the “insanely crazy silhouette” where they make a dress in an absolutely bonkers silhouette that is neither flattering, beautiful, or innovative. And then there is “what if we just put a dress through a shredder look” which is self explanatory. So many of these looks just don’t make sense. It’s like they’re covering women in weird shapes and embellishments just to do it and not because it weirdly works, or makes a confident statement, or is confidently innovative in its newness. What is happening!? I think it might be that a lot of the original designers who made their brands into iconic fashion houses that caught on for a reason are dead or retired, so the brand is cycling through all kinds of new designers who aren’t actually visionary and who aren’t even able to stick to the style of the original designer. It’s just become, “well this brand was really famous and it made a lot of money, so we must keep the bussiness going, and it really doesn’t matter what we put out, because no one will ever guess that we’re just flailing around, working in the dark without an actual aesthetic anymore, and they’ll just wear it because it has our famous label on it and we’re charging them $15,000!”

I am so mad that this is the era I’m living in. That there are 50 fashion misses for everyone 1 look that isn’t horrific. I haven’t seen anything in the last couple of years that made me gasp because it was beautiful and unique. I’ve seen things that are pretty, inoffensive, but derivative, and I’ve seen way too many things that make both the wearer and the viewer feel embarassed and uncomfortable.

  13. Naddie says:

1- Shoulder pads should be a criminal offense.
2- Lauren Daigle, who I never heard about, looks amazing. This dress and hair are on point, and she has a very pretty face.
3- The skinny dictatorship is real. When I saw Tori Kelly I found her fat, just to look close and see she’s not at all, just a woman who’s not thin. The funny thing is that it’s exactly how I’d look if I was on camera.
4- I hate when someone calls wavy, straight rooted hair as curly.

  14. LolaB says:

I had that dress drom dELiA*s, but the slip was light blue.

I also wore it with chunky sandals.

  15. CityGirl says:

I’ve been trying to get Tori Kelly hair my whole entire life!
She looked so pretty and to me was certainly best dressed

  16. Sarah says:

STRAIGHT out of DELIA’s. BEST sentence.

  17. Liima says:

Laura Daigle is amazing similar to a Christian Adele…love the dress, really interesting!

  18. Jag says:

Ashlee looks like Celine Dion. Age wise, too. She needs to stop with the plastic surgery.

Meghan’s dress would be better if the shoulders weren’t angled upwards away from her neck; it looks like she’s permanently shrugging. The V should be narrower, too, imo, because as many have said, it looks like she’s about to fall out.

  19. Nacho_friend says:

I watched the interview and Meghan’s husband didn’t look possessive to me, he looked enthusiastic about their wedding details and then he was happy to stand their smiling when she spoke about her new album. I can usually tell almost everything from eyes, so I was watching him closely and couldn’t get that vibe. What else gave you that impression Celebitchy?

  20. Charfromdarock says:

    I love Aslee’s Jumpsuit!

  21. Velvet Elvis says:

Sorry, not a fan of so much cleavage. Ashley Simpson though looks like perfection here.
