    Blue shrek.

  2. Maddie says:

Rob Lowe is dumb and doesn’t know what an Oxford comma is. 🙄

    • Mel M says:

So stupid. This “president” can literally say anything and no one gives a crap. There’s no calling out or pushback from anyone but random people on Twitter and then it’s forgotten in a day and on to the next. I will never understand it, how people can say that what he says is acceptable behavior in any capacity for an adult in a leadership position.

    • Mamamarshmellow says:

He’s an outspoken fan of Ayn Rand and thinks being one gives him intellectual cred. (Every time she’s mentioned in serious economic circles (academic, media, etc), you get people either groaning or laughing. See Sears for an example of how Ayn Rand’s “theories” work in the real world.)

      • Annabel says:

Here’s how I like to quickly summarize how Ayn Rand’s philosophy works in the real world: at the time of her death, she was collecting social security.

      • Harryg says:

Thank you, Annabel. Astonishing she couldn’t just “manifest” some money!

    Tobias Funke.

  4. Nicegirl says:

I will not be seeing this movie. He looks terrifying.

  5. deezee says:

I think Will Smith can’t disappear into the role enough. Yes I am basing my opinion on what, 5 seconds? LOL
    It just doesn’t look right.

    • Here or there says:

      Agreed

    • Eliza says:

Given the makeup I don’t think that was the goal. It’s just blue Will Smith with pointier ears.

    • alyssa calloway says:

That’s exactly what I thought. It’s just Will Smith being Will Smith but the twist is he’s blue.

    • sid says:

I don’t think Will Smith can ever disappear into his comedic roles. It’s pretty much always his public persona shining through. To be fair, Robin’s Genie was a lot like his stand-up comedy persona but somehow it worked.

      • Mamamarshmellow says:

The fact that Robin was only voice helped. Agree Will can’t do versatile comedy; he is always the same (playing a funny Will Smith).

      • sid says:

Mamamarshmellow I think you nailed it with regard to the voice only aspect. It helped you get into the Genie as a character as opposed to just Robin doing his thing. Here we’ve got Will doing Will while colored blue and frankly looking downright odd.

I would love to know what Disney is thinking right now. The reaction has not been good.

  6. Milkweed says:

I loved Halsey’s painting while singing! That was so cool.

    • Fluffy Princess says:

Wasn’t that cool? I thought it was amazing she could sing/lip sync and do this at the same time.

  7. ds says:

the editing of this trailer is horrible.

    • me1 says:

The whole movie looks terrible. I don’t understand why Naomi Scott was cast as Jasmine. She’s half English half Indian. Disney always totted Jasmine as being the “first Arab princess”, yet here she is being played by someone that isn’t Arab. I’m Indian, so it’s nice to see Indians getting roles but in this case, they really should have went with an Arab actress.

      • Diplomanatee says:

Maybe they’re making up for Rami Malek as Freddie Mercuty? JK, we all know these producers see us brown people as the same thing, their attitude feels a lot like “here’s my bare minimum, you should feel grateful for it”.

      • sid says:

I was thrown off by her casting too. In looking at the extras and their costumes in some of the set pictures and videos they’ve released, it seems like they are trying to represent a lot of the different cultures and ethnic groups from the entire East, so I’m wondering if casting an actress with a South Asian background was done on purpose. But then you have the whole “Arabian Nights” song and you imply the movie is set in “Arabia” as opposed to the original book setting so why not make sure the female lead is Arab?

      • me says:

        @ Diplomanatee

Honestly it does seem like they think all us brown folks are the same.

      • Mamamarshmellow says:

It’s like Memoirs of a Geisha. Zhang Ziyi is Chinese, Michelle Yeoh is Malaysian (Malaysian Chinese), Gong Li is Chinese, etc. All East Asians are the same. Not to say those ladies didn’t do a great job but…
Aside, I can’t stand Guy Ritchie’s attempts at stylistic flairs and filmmaking in general. He is a terrible director and has a lot more flops on his CV than hits.

      • SK says:

I guess she is pretty and sings well? I find it so disappointing. They had a chance at real diversity and cast Jasmine as half-white, half-indian, small-nosed, pale-skinned, skinny and not all Arab. There are SO MANY beautiful women in that part of the world!! And they could have had someone with a strong, beautiful nose, beautiful curves (skinny skinny skinny is NOT beautiful in places like the Gulf), and actually from the part of the world she is supposed to be from representing a recognisable form of beauty for a whole new swathe of little girls.

      • me says:

        @SK

I gotta agree with you there. Arab women are some of the most beautiful women in the world. What a lost opportunity.

  8. minx says:

Do they have to redo every movie? Apparently so.

  9. Case says:

The Genie editing is hilariously, horrifyingly bad. I’m genuinely shocked. I assumed they’d go the Broadway route and make him more of a regular guy, perhaps painted blue.

  10. Svea says:

Is Jada P gonna boycott the Oscars when Will isn’t nominated for his artwork?

    Will Smurf.

  14. ThatBlackGirl says:

The Bey Hive is full of psychotic losers.

  15. Yes Doubtful says:

It looks awful. They had one success with live action and now they are going to overuse it. I wonder if it will bomb?

  16. bobafelty says:

    The stuff of nightmares!

  17. Reggie says:

    ……This ain’t it, bruh

  18. Littlefishmom says:

Will Smith-no, just no. I will not be seeing this.
