Roger Stone used Instagram Stories to violate his federal gag order yet again, lmao

Roger Stone at Court

On one cold Friday morning in January, furloughed FBI agents – who had to volunteer for the job – raided Roger Stone’s Florida home. They knocked on the door and arrested him (a grand jury had indicted him) and they gathered up a “voluminous” amount of incriminating evidence. Roger Stone is an old-school Nixon-era dirty trickster and con man of the highest order. He was also one of the go-betweens for Donald Trump and Wikileaks. In the past month, Roger Stone has been in and out of court on motion hearings. In February, the judge in his case placed Stone under a gag order because he wouldn’t shut up about the court case, and he was targeting the judge on social media. It was a gigantic mess and an utter soap opera. Well, this is just funny at this point – Roger Stone once again broke his gag order, and now Robert Mueller went to the judge to tell her (again) about… Roger Stone’s Instagram. He’s literally doing it for the ‘gram.

Special counsel Robert Mueller on Monday notified a federal judge about an Instagram post by President Donald Trump’s friend Roger Stone that could be in violation of the judge’s strict gag order on Stone. The filing by Mueller cited CNBC’s story on Sunday detailing the post by Stone, which contained an image of him under the words “Who framed Roger Stone.” Mueller did not ask Judge Amy Berman Jackson to find that Stone broke her gag order.

Stone, 66, is barred from criticizing Mueller’s team of prosecutors under the gag imposed Feb. 21 after the longtime Republican operative posted an Instagram image of Jackson’s face next to a rifle scope’s crosshair. Stone, a self-described “dirty trickster,” told Jackson during a court hearing on that post that it was an “egregious, stupid mistake” and said “I am hurtfully sorry for my own stupidity.” At the same Feb. 21 hearing, the judge warned him: “Today, I gave you a second chance. This is not baseball, you don’t get a third chance.”

If Jackson finds that Stone, who is currently free on a $250,000 signature bond, violated that order, she could have him jailed without bail pending his trial on charges of lying to Congress, witness tampering and obstructing justice. Stone on Sunday deleted the “Who framed Roger Stone” image from a series of other rotating images on his Instagram story shortly after CNBC sent an email to his lawyer asking about it.

The other images suggested that people donate to Stone’s legal defense fund, with one saying, “I am committed to proving my innocence. But I need your help,” and another saying, “I’ve always had Trump’s back. Will you have mine?”

[From CNBC]

A 66-year-old man is really using INSTAGRAM to criticize the federal judge in his court case. He’s using IG Stories!!! OMFG. It would be like Christmas all over again if Judge Amy Berman Jackson was like “I can’t with this, I’m revoking your bond and you have to sit in jail for a year just so you’ll get off Instagram.” Please let it happen. Also: is someone on Mueller’s team assigned to watch Roger Stone’s social media? LMAO.

He just can’t help himself. Hopefully the judge has enough of his nonsense.

    • bros says:

He also failed to tell the judge about an entire book he had/has coming out on March 1. I am not sure what became of that. another show of disrespect to this judge, the courts, the law in general. These asshats think they are in their own Goodfellas movie. it’s disgusting. lock him up.

    • jwoolman says:

It would be lovely if she decided he needed a week or two in jail to drive home the point. He’s such a whining baby.

  2. Lightpurple says:

It’s very common for prosecutors to assign interns to follow people’s social media accounts.

Also, if you are looking for a job or seeking workers compensation or any other type of insurance benefits, social media accounts are regularly monitored.

ETA Stone is an arrogant idiot and I cannot wait to hear his defenders like Lindsey Graham and Sean Hannity scream when he is locked up

    • Swack says:

I tell my grandchildren all the time to watch what they post on social media. They getting or are at the age to be able to get a job. Tell them that employers will be looking at their social media.

      • Lightpurple says:

Our workers comp attorneys find it a real treasure trove. People who are supposedly too injured to do sedentary work are posting pictures of themselves running marathons, lifting heavy things, working second full time jobs.

      • TheHufflepuffLizLemon says:

I have been monitoring a new employee’s the last few weeks and there are coaching sessions taking place literally at this moment.
I check the social media presence of every single person I consider hiring. Every single one.

      • Angela82 says:

This is why my Twitter is pretty much anonymous. Its “public” but its all politics and humor. No pictures of me, name dropping, work related material, etc. Granted I doubt the Federal government has the time to search for employees that already have a job. I would be more worried during the initial hiring investigation. I also think HHS is pretty hush hush in terms of if you’re away from the office you can do what you want so long as it doesn’t get back to HHS and you aren’t doing it during work hours. I also know I have it very lucky, because I have worked private sector where they do check social media and keep track of your work on an hour by hour basis. Thank god that ended lol.

      • Lady D says:

What do you do if a prospective employee does not have a social media presence? Unless it’s a job requirement of course.

    • Teel says:

We had a colleague who was always calling in sick. She blocked everyone from viewing her IG which we all thought was a bit shady. So someone in management got in and turns out she was on vacation in Hawaii with her new boyfriend. She no longer works here.

  3. Yup, Me says:

The astounding arrogance and stupidity of these people…

I hope he enjoys jail. Unfortunately, it is distressingly free of top hats so he probably won’t.

  4. Rapunzel says:

Lol…. if they are watching Stone’s IG, then imagine the dots they are connecting by going through Old McDonald’s Twitter history.

    • MattyLove says:

Can you imagine being the one assigned to monitor President Bone Spurs’ Twitter? It’s probably the Mueller equivalent of detention.

“You’ve been bad. Your punishment will be Trump Twitter duty.”

  5. Eric says:

Ted Lieu just made a criminal referral to the DOJ re SF-86 forms on Jared Kushner.

This is a test for Bill Barr as AG to see what he’s going to do.

5 years in prison is the sentence.

    😆

    • Lightpurple says:

I think Jared is going to end up facing a lot more than five years. Espionage is one of the few crimes other than murder that carries the death penalty.

    • lucy2 says:

      !!!
      Please oh please oh please.

    • Swack says:

For those who don’t know (me) what is an SF-86 form?

      • Lightpurple says:

SF-86 is one of the forms used to apply for security clearance

      • Swack says:

        Thank you!

      • bananapanda says:

It’s the standard form for security and says quite explicitly that lying on it is a Federal Offense. Depending on your level of clearance it goes back 7-10 yrs asking about where you’ve lived, traveled, met and/or whether you live with, do business with or know foreign nationals. I think it also asks about financials (i.e. bankruptcies, liens, etc.)They’re trying to gauge your vulnerability and loyalty to the U.S.

You fill it out. The FBI reviews it, then you sit down with an Agent one-on-one to review any questionable answers. (I assume they also do some digging before the sit down.)

Round 1 – Jared had to go back and add ~100 foreign ‘friends’ he’d left off and ~40 meetings. That was a glaring red light.

Round xx – He’s in hock ~$2bn on his Park Avenue property (which he leveraged/sold the whole rest of the company for).

      • Angela82 says:

@bananapanda. Yeah this is normal procedure. I went through a public trust background investigation (which is pretty easy to pass) and they went back 7 years to where I lived in college, who my friends were, if I have done drugs, what were my past jobs etc etc. I was lucky as no polygraph or drug testing was required so it was mostly making sure the forms were correct and you had back up proof that you weren’t lying or a liability to the American government. But I know other Feds who had to go through numerous drug testing, polygraphs, family members were interviewed etc. I consider myself lucky bc they let my Canadian citizenship go (and I live with a foreign national Canadian as well) which was a surprise given the loyalty oath that you take upon employment. And if you lie not only are you terminated but they have a right to fine and penalize depending. You also go through an ethics training and procedures every year. I am sure no one in Trumpville would pass under normal cirsumstances. Anyways I am sure whatever Jared applied for was top secret so if hes busted that should be a MAJOR offense.

    • Tiffany :) says:

I’d LOVE it if one of the Trump family members (including Jared) faced some kind of consequence for breaking the law. Seeing people get away with things repeatedly is such a downer.

    • jwoolman says:

Ted has been asking how Jared ever got a security clearance for a long time. I ask the same about Ivanka. You need to list all your foreign contacts as well as those of immediate family members (I think parents, siblings, adult children, and spouses are included) and the feds do check those out.

Jared will be in trouble also because he has undoubtedly been sharing classified information with foreign nationals. He has sleepovers with the Saudi crown prince at the most interesting times, for example. Apparently people in other governments consider him to be easily manipulated.

  6. Nev says:

Will he go to jail this time?!!!!!

  7. wow says:

Does anyone here watch Billions? I just realized he seems like the inspiration for the dad on that show- a rich, disgusting political trickster who wields all sorts of dark connections and favors and blackmail to protect his people. Roger Stone and the dad on the show gesture, talk, and pout so similarly.

My God that pout! lol thank you Kaiser.

  8. Marjorie says:

The judge has to lock him up. Haha.

    • Swack says:

IMO if she doesn’t then anything that the judge says she’ll do won’t hold much water.

  9. Beth says:

This cocky dirty trickster is going to keep digging himself into deep trouble and not be able to get out

    • Pandy says:

Let’s hope! Imagine crowd-funding because you had the back of a crooked billionaire … who doesn’t appear to have his back?

  10. Incredulous says:

Siri, how do I stop doing crimes?

  11. Steff says:

He’s so weird and stupid. I tend to think mafia people have use for men like Roger Stone, Carter Page and Trump because their stupidity is an asset to them.

  12. BlueSky says:

Gawd he’s dumb and entitled. Does anyone else think he looks like a villain from the old Batman series?

  13. Goldengirlslover34 says:

    What a dunce.

  14. jammypants says:

    @BlueSky Doctor Freeze

  15. Nene's Wig says:

He wants to get thrown in jail as a martyr for the GOP and Trump will pardon him.

    • Cojii says:

Im pretty sure he can’t be pardoned until he’s convicted so he’d still have to sit in jail until the trial is over. And who knows, it might just extend beyond Trump’s presidency making him pardon-proof.

      • Lightpurple says:

Presidents have pardoned people who haven’t even been indicted. Look up George H. W. Bush pardoning Cabinet members and, of course, Gerald Ford’s pardon of Nixon.

      • jwoolman says:

I wonder if a Presidential pardon like Ford did for Nixon would actually stand up in court when issued by someone actually under investigation for similar crimes. And if they accept a pardon, they lose the 5th Amendment protection against self-incrimination and could spend a lot of time in jail for contempt of court if they refuse to answer questions.

  16. Louise177 says:

I can’t believe the arrogance. I wonder if the judge will actually put him in jail.

  17. steph o says:

    What a petulant toddler.

  18. asdfaf says:

OMG PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE send him to jail!

  19. Fluffy Princess says:

I wish the judge would just lock his ass up like Manafort. Let’s see a mugshot of him in a prison jumper–hopefully, the “crotch binders.”

  20. mycomment says:

he’s gonna have such a (notso) great time in prison … esp with that giant Nixon tattoo on his back. a billion years ago, he was busted for advertising in a swingers magazine for a muscled up male partner/couple to join him and his equally muscled up wife in funtimes… it was the national enquirer that outed him — with photos and everything…

edit: bwahaha.. the uk daily mail has the goods:

yet another update: the nys regulators office has opened an investigation into dotard’s previous claims … all based on aoc’s questioning of Michael cohen last week… lololol

  21. felebel says:

Just put this bozo away – for good – PLEASE!

  22. JANAK says:

This wannabe Batman villian is either truly desperate to go to prison or he’s just too stupid to live. I hope they give him a long enough sentence that we can finally see his natural hair color.

    • Snowflake says:

“See his natural hair color,” lol. Also wonder what he would look like without that orange color?

  23. Shockadelica says:

SMH. Psychotic narcissist like his orange buddy.

  24. whybother says:

IG stories/socmed is one thing but lately, I’ve seen colleagues using their WhatsApp’s status to bitch about their work, which is super dumb imo. You need to save their contact to WA each other so obviously, they can easily read those statuses. I cant with people who leaving tracks all over places
    lmao
