‘Gossip with Celebitchy’ Podcast #9: Gwyneth Paltrow invented the gluten free diet

wenn35867498
In this episode of Gossip with Celebitchy, Chandra (Kaiser) and I talk about the sad loss of Luke Perry, what a good guy he was and what he meant to us as a generation. We also discuss Alex Trebek revealing his cancer diagnosis. We laugh about Kate Beckinsale and Pete Davidson making out courtside at a Ranger’s game and come to the conclusion that they’re suited for each other. You can listen below!

Chandra explains the new Game of Thrones trailer and what that means for the upcoming season. (There are some spoilers for past seasons of Game of Thrones if you’d like to avoid those.) We cover the royals, including appearances by Duchesses Meghan and Kate and Kate’s very frumpy custom-made dress. We cover Kim Kardashian’s hideous leopard head to toe looks in Paris, Taylor Swift’s essay for Elle Magazine, and Gwyneth Paltrow taking credit for popularizing the gluten free diet. Chandra and I talk about how long it took for stories about Michael Jackson and R. Kelly to reach critical mass.

I also talk to Hecate/Kat for the first time! We discuss the first episode of Leaving Neverland in general terms (we don’t cover the specific abuse) and about her decision to stop listening to Jackson’s music. She also reveals the origin of her pen name. Chandra explains how she came up with the name Kaiser and I talk about how I started Celebitchy.

We had three comments of the week this week. JadedBrit opened up in the Khloe Kardashian post about how invaluable the CB community has been to her as an abuse survivor. Swack wondered how long tempest prognasticator could last inside Gwyneth Paltrow’s head. And lucy thanked the dragon god for bringing back Gendry to Game of Thrones.

You can listen above! We’re on Spotify, Stitcher, iTunes, YouTube, Google Play Music, Castbox and Google Podcasts. Please rate, subscribe and review on iTunes or wherever you listen. Oh and I wondered if Prince Charles’ Investiture was available online and of course it was as Chandra mentioned. I loved seeing this!

I will say, Gwyneth’s appearance on SNL did make me laugh. So she is entirely too far up her own ass but it seems she does still have the ability to laugh at herself, which helps.

You guys’ comments on Kate’s secretary dresses are so. freaking. funny!!!! It’s so true

  3. Ivy says:

I think Gweneth is one of, if not the, main reason why being actually gluten-free for legitimate health reasons isn’t taken seriously and seen as more of a fad

    • justwastingtime says:

Ivy, I kind of disagree. I know of people on it since 2010, and this is the first I have heard that Goopy is discussing it ( she may have been pimping some other eating style at the time – maybe vegan or macrobiotic or poop cleaning) I think that what has made it seem like a fad is that a lot of people who claim to be gluten intolerant when they are just actually trying to avoid carbs and lose weight.

Always look forward to your podcasts.

I appreciate Hecate’s input about MJ. I too continued to listen to his music after his trial because I loved it so much. I came to realize with him along with R Kelly, that I could no longer separate the artist’s actions from their music. That is why I can understand why so many people struggle with this. I take issue with those who just take the “everybody’s lying” stance as their justification for not giving up listening to MJ and R Kelly.

  5. lucy2 says:

I always read Hecate as “heh-kate”, LOL.

    • Hecate says:

Both pronunciations are correct so you are also correct. The Heh-kate one is commonly considered the Shakespearean pronunciation. But you know me, I don’t care how you call me, just call me!

  6. BeanieBean says:

I think the date on that investiture video is wrong. Charles was only 13 in 1960.

  7. Lucy says:

Hey, that was me commenting about Gendry!! 😀 listen, I always enjoy Gendry talk/sightings. Always. That man is something else.

  8. EviesMom says:

Hecate was also one of the three Witches in MacBeth! I know because I played the part & have always been drawn to the name! ❤️ The podcast – thanks!

  9. Georgie says:

I have been loving the podcast too! An unexpected bonus is that when I read your posts I can practically HEAR Celebitchy and Kaiser saying out loud the words I am reading! too funny! keep up the great work!

  10. MeghanNotMarkle says:

Does Gwyneth take credit for my wheat allergy, too? Cause I’d love someone to blame here. Not gluten, wheat. The plant, pollen, all of it.

Eating GF doesn’t equal healthy. Gluten free foods tend to be carb heavy and starchy unless you are going grain free and purposely avoiding carbs.

  11. Ana says:

I call my little girl Hecate sometimes because she’s said to be the goddess of chaos lol I always thought it was a cute name. So happy to finally hear Hecate on the podcast.
Kate’s dress reminds me of my own mother’s circa 1984. I cannot hate on that …

    Loving the podcast ladies.
