Yeah, misogynist Tucker Carlson is also a well-documented racist, shock

Yesterday, we talked about Tucker Carlson and how he’s a disgusting misogynist and has been for years and years. Media Matters compiled a series of horrifying clips from Carlson’s appearances on Bubba the Love Sponge’s radio show where he defends rapists and predators, mocks female survivors of abuse and rape and tons more. Well, would it shock you to learn that Tucker Carlson also has a history of spouting white supremacist talking points? Yeah, not surprising at all. From Media Matters:

Carlson credited “white men” for “creating civilization” and made numerous racist remarks about the Obamas, including agreeing that Michelle Obama would “be a problem” because she “turns into a sister” and asking of Barack Obama, “How is he Black, for one thing? He has one white parent, one Black parent.” Carlson called Iraqis “semiliterate primitive monkeys” and said Afghanistan is “never going to be a civilized country because the people aren’t civilized.” He also said he had “zero sympathy” for Iraqis because they “don’t use toilet paper or forks” and that the war could turn around “if, somehow, the Iraqis decided to behave like human beings.”

[From Media Matters]

You can go to Media Matters for the entire transcripts of all of the racist sh-t Carlson said for YEARS. Here’s a clip:

As I said yesterday, we been knew. We’ve known Tucker Carlson is a garbage dump for years and years. What’s slightly interesting – I mean, I guess? – is that Tucker’s defense was that “I said that stuff a decade ago.” Like anything that happened a decade ago doesn’t count, or something. Like he hasn’t spent the past ten years saying exactly the same things on Fox News. Speaking of, back in 2015 (“it was four years ago, it doesn’t count!”), Tucker sat down for a podcast interview with Gavin McInnes, founder of the Proud Boys, and talked about how how statutory rape is not rape. Sigh… I expect there will be a lot of these old interviews coming out.

I don’t get how these interviews are just now coming out. Like, how were they ever buried in the first place? He’s garbage, anyone that thinks otherwise is garbage, everything is garbage, just like his supreme leader.

    • Darla says:

Good question; why ARE these just coming out now?

    • Tiffany says:

Faux News is hemorrhaging advertisers right now and their on air ‘talent’ is expensive. They are having behind the scenes meetings with the advertisers they still have and telling them they can control their ‘talent’ in the future. What is surfacing now shows they will not.

    • ByTheSea says:

And what’s worse is the Supreme Leader has lauded him for refusing to apologize.

  2. Darla says:

I can’t really talk about this guy. If I say what I truly feel not only would it not be posted here, if it was posted here, I might get a visit from the authorities.

    • Kitten says:

There are so many people to hate at Fox but Carlson has ALWAYS been the worst and most-triggering for me.

  3. Kittycat says:

    Wow.

How unhinged and crazy is Tucker?

    • isabelle says:

He isn’t crazy at all. There is no mental disorder nor is he unhinged. He is and always has been an awful person rewarded financially for his awful thoughts. He is just that bad of a person.

      • Betsy says:

This. Mentally ill people can have crap ideas (we’ve all heard them from homeless people. Or our relatives.) but this isn’t unbalanced; he’s just a jerk.

  4. Desolee says:

They maybe don’t use TP because they do something else which is even cleaner. And And they do use forks for salad and stuff just not for every meal because actually you can eat some yummy main dishes with fresh bread. It’s not like we Westerners don’t ever put our hands on food we eat either! He sounds so ignorant .

  5. Janey says:

I can’t believe there are people who actually think like this. It’s horrifying.

  6. Cindy says:

Well, he’s a commentator for Fox News.

  7. Elkie says:

What I particularly love about these tapes is how all the deplorables who traded QAnonsense conspiracy theories about Democrat paedophile rings in the basements of pizza restaurants with no basement are all suddenly Team Child Rape when it comes to defending an über-priviledged product of the (inherited wealth) “elite” they all also claim to despise.

It’s almost like nothing else matters next to Trump and the Fox propaganda machine making them feel all giddy about getting their Klan hoods out of storage…

  8. BlueSky says:

Sigh, nothing will happen with this guy. He will lose advertisers and they will be some hoopla, but then it will go away. The bar is set low for white men in this country. People will do the most to excuse his behavior. You can wear blackface in your yearbook and still keep your job.

    • Tiffany says:

I don’t know. The Murdochs are still feeling the burn of not being able to purchase Sky News. The primary reason being the product they put on the air on this side of the pond.

I think they are going to have another go at it and to do so it will be at the expense on someone. And if it is every last one of those clowns, I would not be mad at all.

  9. Maylee says:

How can human beings be so vile? I’m so sick of feeling sick over this.

New thought approach today: compassion and understanding. There’s a saying, something like ‘It’s hard to hate someone whose story you know’. Ok, so I’m feeling hate for TC today. Back up. What’s his story? Why did he spew racism and misogyny then, and on his current show? Does he really feel this way or is this just about knowing his audience and making money? I’m picturing sitting with TC, like he’s a friend, and asking him about his life and why he acts this way, *with absolutely no judgment*. His guard is down and he confesses he has never felt good enough for anyone – family, women and work peers. So he embodies this hateful person because truly he hates himself, and hides his insecurities and fears behind a character who earned him fans and money. He sobs uncontrollably. ..So by imagining that, my feelings of hate slightly lessen, and feelings of wanting to help that person emerge. It’s a beautiful and profound thought adjustment!

I believe that most people are good, deep down, and they are fronting so hard it can make them do bad things (explanation not excuse). It’s easier for us to simply hate and cancel these people. The hard part is demonstrating compassion and understanding to people who make your blood boil and who rip your heart out with their cruelty.

I don’t know, just thinking out loud on this topic because I’m so sick of feeling hate.

    • anon says:

You may, and should do your best to not feel hate, but please don’t try to apologize hate when you see it in others. Feel compassionate but don’t whitewash the fact that there are many vile people out there with no reason nor sense, and worse, no repentance. Good people act good; being good “deep down” is just pure nonsense when you the actions taken are so evil and damaging like those of Carlson.

  10. Dragonlady Sakura says:

(Clutching pearls) Are you trying to tell me someone from Fox News said something racist and misogynist?! That’s as believable as our president being a crooked, xenophobic grifter.

  11. Steff says:

Republican’s core beliefs are misogynistic and racist so why are people still pretending they aren’t?

    • Kitten says:

Absolutely true but that’s not the issue here. Everybody knows that this is completely on-brand for F*cker and his audience. Hell, he said most of this shit a decade ago when he was working for MSNBC, who ALSO knew exactly who he was.

The point–and please don’t lose sight of this–is his relationship to the sitting President. The point is that Fox and Trump are completely intertwined at this stage.

The POTUS gets all his information from ONE television network and it’s NOT MSNBC.

So when you see Trump with policies such as the Muslim ban you know EXACTLY where he’s getting these ideas. It’s not just Stephen Miller, it’s all the bigots at Faux News who are informing his world view and it’s NOT ok.

  12. Fluffy Princess says:

Obviously, NO ONE is surprised by these revelations. I hope he gets the Bill O’Reilly treatment — he’s too expensive to keep on air due to the fact he’s bleeding advertisers. But whatever, no matter what happens to him, he’ll be fine. He’ll just sit on his pile o’ cash until the next opportunity arises.

  13. Good GRrrrrl says:

Tucker tape is ticking. He’s not smart or charismatic, but obviously hateful and just plain gross. Even faux news watchers don’t have patience for those who defend child rape. Likely this wig wearing garbage will be out SOON.
