Taylor Swift’s friends are all talking about ‘how she really wants to marry Joe’

Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Summer 2018 TCA

Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn have been together for about two-and-a-half years. Isn’t that startling?? They got together, by most accounts, in the fall of 2016, immediately after her split from Tom Hiddleston. She traded in one pale British actor for another pale British actor, and this one looks like her brother. Part of the reason why JoeTay doesn’t feel like they’ve been happening for as long as two-and-a-half years is because she really did keep the relationship pretty quiet, especially in the first year. She’s definitely employed a new boyfriend-strategy with Joe, and for what it’s worth, he doesn’t seem particularly eager to be known globally as Taylor’s Boyfriend (although he still enjoys the perks of that title). Anyway, after all this time and a significant birthday coming up for Tay, do you think she’s expecting an engagement ring?

There are no more teardrops on her guitar. Now that Taylor Swift has found her happiness with Joe Alwyn, friends close to the couple are placing bets on when the pair will get engaged, a source exclusively reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly.

“Taylor’s friends are all talking about a proposal and how she really wants to marry Joe,” says the insider. “He’s her dream guy.” And the singer, 29, has thought so for some time now. “Taylor really believes Joe is the one for her,” an insider previously revealed to Us Weekly. “She wants to get engaged to him. She just doesn’t feel as though she has to impress anyone at this point.”

And it seems the actor, 27, feels the same. “Joe feels privileged that he gets to be with Taylor,” the insider added. “And he is happy being out of the spotlight.”

I’ve been gossiping about Taylor Swift for so long that I remember when “sources” claimed the same thing about Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Hiddleston. It’s a go-to story about and from Taylor, that “she really wants to marry this guy.” Maybe she does, maybe she doesn’t. I suspect that she’s torn about it too – on one side, she’s the romantic pop star who wants a happily ever after with a handsome British “prince.” On the other side, she’s a savvy businesswoman who would never allow some guy to get anywhere near her money. So will Joe propose? Who knows. Last thing: “Joe feels privileged that he gets to be with Taylor” – laying it on a bit thick, snake fam.

I think he looks like a male version of Karlie Kloss!

    • BaronSamedi says:

Holy sh*it! Now I can’t unsee it. Also the Kaylor conspiracy tinhats must be going crazy over this!

      • otaku fairy... says:

Between her thirst and some of her problematic behavior, It’s not clear why there could ever be Kaylor conspiracy theorists going crazy to begin with. She’s only been seen with men as partners. I guess being the girl in sneakers on the bleachers cancels out some of Da Rules.

    • Keaton says:

      Actually I see it!
      Omg that’s too funny!

  2. PlainJane says:

If you see something, say something!

  3. Chef Grace says:

    Poor dude has Snakeholme syndrome.

  4. jammypants says:

Then why doesn’t she just propose to him then instead of publicly pressuring him to? I feel like gender norms are silly. The guy doesn’t always have to make the first moves. It’s 2019.

  5. ds says:

i love his suit in the last photo. that’s all i’ve got.

  6. JRenee says:

I’d be embarrassed if this leaked. Sorry..

  7. Jegede says:

I believe Taylor wants to be married by 30.💍💍

I also believe this story is her way of letting Joe know to step up.
All while being bashful of course.😏😏

  8. Tiffany says:

Well, 2 to 3 years is the point where conversations are to be had. If you want to approach your partner and tell them where you want to be in the next year (engaged), 2 years ( married), 3 years ( children), then there is nothing wrong with that.

Hints and importantly, ultimatums don’t really work. Speak up and if that person is not on the same page as you after you gave them time to think about it, move on.

What 1950’s movie do some people live in.

  9. Lightpurple says:

I swear they run this same exact story every few months on a schedule and just change the guy’s name

  10. Dee says:

Pretty girl, pretty guy. No drama here.

  11. Case says:

As you said, this story appears with every boyfriend. I really hope some entertainment journalist made up these quotes and not Taylor’s PR, because they’re cringey.

“She wants to get engaged to him. She just doesn’t feel as though she has to impress anyone at this point.” — those two sentences are so bizarre strung together.

“Joe feels privileged that he gets to be with Taylor,” the insider added. “And he is happy being out of the spotlight.” EYEROLL.

    • Janey says:

quite, it’s very high school drama-ish.

    • Dara says:

Honestly, it’s because they are so saccharine and borderline non-sensical that I think they were almost certainly provided by her team. It’s almost their trademark at this point. Anyone else remember the “most desirable woman in the world” line from another article that positively screamed planted puff piece? No gossip journalist worth the title would come up with that gem all on their own.

      • Case says:

I just went back in the Celebitchy archives to see what PR nonsense was spouted when she was with Tom and I’m laughing so hard. “She’s texting all her friends that she’s in love and she’s never felt this way before!” “All her friends think this is the guy she’s going to end up with!” “Tom’s mom is joking about wanting grandchildren!”

God, it’s so funny. I do think she’s a smart businesswoman, but at the same time her PR schemes are so transparent it’s disturbing. I can’t think of another celebrity that even comes close to being like her in terms of steering the narrative and image.

  12. Andrea says:

I loved him in The Favourite!

I wonder what really happened with her and Tom? Did he dump her or vice versa? I never fully understood who dumped who.

  13. Victoria says:

She can’t marry him, how will that milk the “he dumped me “ or whatever narrative she’s had? I want more breakup albums 🤣🤣🤣

    • Inara says:

      Imagine the divorce album though!

    • Laura says:

If she gets married and lives happily ever after, then she won’t have anything to write about in her next albums. People want to hear songs about drama, breakups, heart break, and lies lol. She needs material for her next songs.

  14. Marian says:

“I’ve been gossiping about Taylor Swift for so long that I remember when “sources” claimed the same thing about Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Hiddleston.”

The fact that she dated both for less then 3 months kind of proves those “sources” were fake. Tom was not long ago, same year as Joe and I do remember her denying a lot of silly tabloid rumors while she was with him through gossip cop. Those rumors started because of the parent meeting.

Tom was #16 in her Elle article and it is clear she never wanted to marry him. She appears to not have liked him much. I mean they were seen together for ONLY six weeks, he got a song called getaway car and #16 in Elle as a mistake. Yet people still believe tabloid stories that she wanted to marry him. Lol

Maybe you should be more logical and use commonsense while gossiping about Taylor. Think to yourself, well those tabloid stories had to have been false based on what actually transpired in real life.

I know you won’t post this cause you have a problem with being proven wrong. But read it and leave Taylor aloe stop bringing up other men when she obviously did not want them long term making claims she wanted to marry them based on silly tabloid stories that were proven to be all lies.
