The Cambridges did a happy-family photo op in Norfolk, how suspicious

Irish Guards St Patrick's Day parade

I’m sure that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s calendars are mostly determined by their kids’ school schedules at this point. Apparently, George and Charlotte have been out of school for their “Easter holiday” for the past two weeks? That’s what people keep saying, although that kind of break seems weird to me. I went to public school in America, and we generally got a week or a week-and-a-half off around the actual Easter date, not two or three weeks before. But Kate’s last public event was on March 28th, and William has only done two public events in four weeks’ time – the St. Patrick’s Day/Irish Guards shamrock thing, and appearing at the premiere of Our Planet on April 4th. Reportedly, William spent three week “shadowing” people at British spy agencies, but it just sounded like a glorified internship.

I guess my point is that it’s weird that we haven’t seen much of Will and Kate in the past month. I even joked that it felt like Kate went on “maternity leave” with Meghan. If I’m being unkind, I might suggest that Kate wasn’t doing appearances because she doesn’t have the same urge when it’s not a head-to-head competition with Meghan. But I’m sure it’s mostly about the kids’ school schedules, honestly. It’s been reported for weeks that Kate has spend April in Norfolk with the kids. Conveniently, Hello Magazine and the Daily Mail got some photos of William, Kate and the kids hanging out with Zara and Mike Tindall and their kids. You can see the photos at the DM link below:

You can see cute photos of Prince George on Mike’s shoulders and Kate with the girls and all of it is super-cute. The photos came from Norfolk, where the Cambridges were out to support Zara Phillips-Tindall at the Burnham horse trials, which were close to Anmer Hall. Hello says that Prince Lou wasn’t there, and was probably home with Nanny Maria. Poor Lou – too little to watch the horses!

As many have pointed out, these photos were most likely sanctioned in some way by the Cambridges. If they were unsanctioned, they wouldn’t have been published in Hello or the Daily Mail. The fact that the DM and Hello are running them as exclusives with cutesy coverage about how family-oriented and country-normal they are means that this sh-t was almost definitely arranged. They’ve done similar things in the past and it hasn’t been about anything other than projecting this “happy, middle-class family” image. But coming in the wake of the Rose Hanbury-affair stories, well… these photos look rather obvious. I’m sure it works on some people though.

Zara was competing at the horse trials in Norfolk at the weekend which isn’t far from where the Cambridges live. I’m guessing this family outing was planned sometime in advance. Also the Cambridge family have attended horse trials in Norfolk for 3 years running now & they’ve been pictured each time.

While all members of the royal family use PR to promote their image I don’t think it’s fair to assume that every outing has to automatically be down to PR, especially if it’s something we’ve seen them attend before in previous years.

    • Eliza says:

Yeah, they always go to a horse show where they’re photographed with Mia and George playing…maybe they okayed the photos but that would be every year. The kids school’s schedule are public and they get 3 weeks. Ed/Sophie also don’t work during their kids spring break. Even with the exception of Charles’ tour, none of the royals including the Queen, has a anything resembling a busy schedule this month. The entire family takes breaks multiple times a year. It’s not a cambridge thing. It’s the Windsor way.

      • Becks1 says:

It may be the Windsor way to take several breaks during the year, but they also work a lot in between those breaks. Kate taking a three week break (almost a month) from public duties is not the same as the Queen or Charles taking a three week break.

      • Nic919 says:

I see the twitter talking points to defend the laziness has migrated here. Kate had 14 days of work up to the end of March. Everyone else including Meghan had done more and you can check out Patricia Treble’s work count to confirm. We are also hearing how charities don’t want help in the month before Easter. All these excuses to explain why a certain couple still can’t do full time numbers even though neither is on leave and they are future monarch/ consort.

      • PrincessK says:

Yes, but its is rare for William to be in attendance.

      • Sharon Lea says:

Nic919 – thanks for mentioning Patricia Treble’s work as I hadn’t heard of her site before.

      • Roux says:

The easter holidays have fallen weirdly this year and the kids have been on holiday for over a week already. We are in Norfolk and the kids go back to school on 24th.

      • Lilly says:

Yes, it’s a yearly event so why try to paint it like now everything Kate and Will do is somehow influenced by what Meghan does or doesn’t do? The idea is absurd. Kate’s life is barely affected by Meghan just as she went on living her life and doing things before anyone ever heard of Meghan Markle.

    • Muffy says:

Yes, so strange they were photographed at the same kind of thing they are photographed at every year. They’re papped every year on the horsey circuit.

      • Tiffany says:

But it is never the money shot, which is all of them in the same frame. Bill always make sure they are separated and never seen playing or interacting with the kids like Kate does.

      • Lilly says:

There’s a weird thing on here where they try to perpetuate the fake feud and pretend that Kate is somehow jealous of/in competition with Meghan. Which is just wishful thinking on some people’s parts.

      • JustSayin' says:

        It’s not the same event.

You’re thinking of Houghton horse trials.
And the only ones going on about the fake feud and jealousy are the crazy fairweather fans of kate who hate meghan because reasons.

    • Nikki says:

Thanks for your clarification. Makes sense to me.

    • Ravensdaughter says:

I agree with the above. This event with the Tindalls was planned anyway, and they allowed the Daily Mail and Hello to pap them for good PR. Not unusual for the Royals. I’m not buying into this as an affair distractor, because I’m not buying into the affair.
My goodness, George and Charlotte have grown!

  2. Royalwatcher says:

I mean, it was only a matter of time right? And definitely sanctioned since we haven’t seen any Cambridge legal threats or screaming claims of human rights being violated. No worries about the kids privacy now, William?!?! Hmmmm wonder why?

There are about 200 HD photos of them and William and George are looking straight into the camera for some. These are not from another on-looker’s cellphone. God they are so transparent!

    • Megan says:

Zara and Mike’s marriage must in double trouble because they were photographed with their kids BOTH days of the trials.

    • 90sgirl says:

That was the most OBVIOUS PR ever.

Kate looked strained and super thin.
William suddenly the smiley Prince and practically juggling the kids in air for the cameras. So Fake!
They probably had to get something in the cameras of good father , good husband Prince William before he heads off to NZ without Kate.

It just all looked so utterly FAKE and heavy handed.

How many years more of cheating Rumours followed up by a sudden trotting out of the kids. This will probably be the modus operandi for years to come.

The kids are all adorable though. Same can’t be said for sneaky Prince William.
Award for Most OBVIOUS, Heavy Handed PR to shut down talk ,goes to Prince William!

      • Megan says:

You do realize William is going to NZ to deliver the UK’s condolences for a massacre. It’s hardly a pleasure trip or royal romp.

      • 90sgirl says:

        It’s so Fake!
Yup, the entire photo op, PR move, smacks of FAKENESS.

      • V says:

LOL How these pics look FAKE? They look actually very natural, even if you want to believe it’s a pap stroll. They are not overdoing any interaction (between them and with tye children) and it’s an event they attend every year,so it’s hard to question their presence. The Sussexes’ fan brigade may not like them for obvious reasons.. lol We know these pics don’t suit certain narrative (Kate at home crying,William hated by every family member..lol),but it’s common knowledge William is close to Zara.

      • BritWoman says:

Yes, every year Kate and William do this, but this year it is because of a rumor not many off this site and other Meghan stan sites believe and just PR. But why weren’t they holding hands, and Kate rubbing his back, hanging onto his arm to show that she loves William as much as Meghan loves Harry?? I’m confused.
And sad that you are hoping for “many more years of cheating.” Wow.

    • PrincessK says:

@royalwatcher ..I have seen some pictures but not 200! Where are the rest?

      • 90sgirl says:

More are popping up in other editions today.

      • Royalwatcher says:

I was exaggerating a bit for effect. But as 90sgirls said, several more came out today. But my comment was more about the fact that there were many more photos taken/released than we’ve seen in past years of different Cambridge-sanctioned (i.e. photos that the Cambridges don’t threaten legal action on) off-duty pap shots of the kids/family.

    • Lilly says:

They were at a public event. Anyone around could have snapped photos with their phones, and they had actual photographers there to get photos of the event. They’ve never sued photographers before for getting shots of Kate playing with the kids at these public events.

  3. Seraphina says:

Maybe this event was planned well in advance but I’m betting my tiara that these pictures were blessed for press printing.

Something is going on and this was some water to help put out the smoke so the fire doesn’t come to light. But like all messiness, it will rise to the surface in due time. No matter who you are, infidelity can be hidden only for so long. You get caught in the end.

  4. Goofpuff says:

Yes super obvious- it’s the usual PR stunt to distract. Considering how protective (lawyers and al that) they are about their kids, no way these would be published by British press without their approval so it just makes it more obvious for them.

    • Monicack says:

They always publish photos from this event.

      • Beli says:

Not this event, this is the Burnham Horse Trials. It’s usually the Houghton Horse Trials we see photos from, which is in May. But given who hosts that one, we might not see photos from there this year!

      • Becks1 says:

Yes, everyone is thinking of the Houghton horse trials. Those are in May and I bet we will not see pictures of that this year, haha. I went back over the past few years and couldn’t find any pics of the Cambridges at this particular event.

      • Sharon Lea says:

        Good catch Beli and Becks.

      • BayTampaBay says:

Houghton Hall and the Houghton Horse Trials are all part of Marquess of Cholmondeley, Inc. I wonder if Bill & Cathy will attend the Houghton Horse Trials this May? LOL! LOL!

    • 90sgirl says:

Most heavy handed, PR to shut down a rumour.
Can’t stand William lately. He seems like a fake.

Since when is William happy for cameras, he usually gives a grimaced barely smile if cameras get near. So fake.

      It’s so fake.

  5. Weaver says:

This seems rather “Hollywood” of them, no?

Unless I missed something, not one of those pics shows Will and Kate interacting with each other.

    • Ripetyde says:

We didn’t get any pictures of Mike & Zara interacting either so it’s not a big deal. This is why I don’t think this was PR cause if it was Louis would have been there & we would have had lots if images of W&K gazing adoringly at each other! I’m glad they just kept it normal instead of trying to play up for the cameras.

      • Royalwatcher says:

Errr that’s because Zara is participating in the event. She’s a bit busy!

      • Megan says:

Not really. She is only busy when it is her turn to ride. Otherwise it is a lot of waiting around.

      • BritWoman says:

Exactly. I can’t believe the gymnastics people do to prove a rumor that has zero proof. This rumor has as much proof as Meghan using a surrogate. Why do people believe one and refuse to believe the other?? If they were trying to prove their love through PR, there would have been more hand holding, etc.

      • Royalwatcher says:

@BritWoman – I’d say it’s quite different than the loonies who claim Meghan isn’t pregnant. For one, we can see clearly that she IS pregnant with a moving fetus in her belly. With regard to the William rumors, he has a past history of cheating and it’s supposedly an open secret in their circle that he is cheating now/recently. Also, the “feud” between K and the marchioness plus William threatening lawsuits. There is no similar “smoke” with regard to Meghan’s pregnancy, except the fact that some people can’t stand that’s she’s married to Harry and they’re having a baby.

      • Lorelei says:

@BritWoman can we please not even dignify the surrogate nonsense? CB doesn’t cover it and rightly so. It’s a conspiracy theory propagated by a small fringe of lunatics on Twitter. It is not reliable in any way, shape or form. Who knows if the rumors about William are true or not, but these stories aren’t in the same league. We should leave that crap on Twitter.

And I had the same reaction when there were surrogate rumors popping up about Kate. It’s gross and over the line no matter who is being targeted.

    • MissyS. says:

I noticed that also. They barely looked at each other. I guess the focus is supposed to be on the children and the “perfect” family narrative.

    • Kittycat says:

It doesn’t matter if William and Kate sont interact.

The argument would be they dont need to hang off each other because they are the perfect couple confident after 18 years of being together.

    • Taranga says:

I think it’s funny that people have been commenting for months how happy Kate has looked, and just 3 weeks ago when both W&K attended the St Patricks day event people were still talking about how happy they looked. Now just 3 weeks later they supposedly can’t stand each other & there is trouble in paradise! Gosh, people sure are fickle!

      • Becks1 says:

Have you read many of the comments on the posts about William cheating? Because we discuss that a lot – how happy Kate has looked over the past few months.

Personally, I can believe that these rumors circulating would cause tension between them, even if the affair was 10 years ago.

      • Taranga says:

The rumor isn’t being openly discussed in the UK & most British citizens are not even aware of it, so don’t see why this would cause an enormous amount of tension.

Also if Kate was aware of the gossip to the point she froze out her friend then I’m assuming it all went down before the St Patrick’s day event. It just seems fickle that people were one minute commenting how happy they both looked recently and then 3 weeks later there is suposedly trouble in paradise! I’m just not buying it.

      • Himmiefan says:

Well, because certain rumors came out. Nothing to do with fickleness, just, you know, the news.

      • Hyacinth Bucket says:

Wills’ affair has been openly discussed in certain circles in the UK for a long time.

The only reason it’s not being discussed more is because the palace is shutting down the press so completely.

      • ProfPlum says:

        SPILL THE TEA, Hyacinth Bucket!

      • PrincessK says:

Well I never said that Kate looks happy, I have said that for a long time she has been looking very thin and strained.

      • Becks1 says:

I think what has been said is that Kate looks happy and confident when doing solo
engagements especially those with kids. I know I personally got slammed on here a few months ago for mentioning that Kate looked a bit, um, tired.

    • 90sgirl says:

There were several comments of people noting that Kate and William didn’t interact.

The outing does look like a PR move. It strikes a false note. IMO

      It so obviously PR. IMO

Kate looks even thinner , even the skinny jeans are not as tight as they were. I think she looks a bit strained.

I am one of the few that felt Kate looked mostly unhappy last year and not happy at the wedding in May unless she was around the kids.

      • PrincessK says:

Also the pictures came out a couple of days after the event, taken by a professional photographer and obviously sanctioned by the Palace. Pictures of the kids never get published without permission. Loads of pictures get taken of the royals in public that we never see because they get blocked.

  6. Ader says:

I must be missing a gene or something, because everyone keeps talking about how these photos are “adorable!” and “super-cute!” I don’t see it. Just a bunch of blurry snapshots of a wealthy family walking around. The pic of Kate smiling big at William is “cuter” than the family pics.

    • Erinn says:

I do kind of love that photo of her grinning away. I kind of feel like she’s a bit goofy when she has her guard down, and I’d love to see a bit more of that. But I also can see why it’s something she tries to keep to a minimal when possible.

I just think the kids are cute in general – the photos are pretty normal candid family type photos – nothing out of the ordinary.

    • V says:

Don’t you see how these pics are so FAKE and arranged by a “PR photographer” who was telling them how to pose? LMAO

  7. Sassy says:

Classic PR move during a cheating scandal present a happy family image to appear unbothered.

  8. Beli says:

Definitely sanctioned because we’re seeing photos of the kids. If the Cambridge’s didn’t want those photos published, they
    wouldn’t have been.

And especially with the DM have at the top of their site at the moment gushing about how inexpensive everything everyone is wearing is and my gosh aren’t they just so down to earth?, this is pure PR to distract from whatever is happening in Norfolk.

The outing they’re usually photographed at isn’t this one, it’s the Houghton Horse Trials in May. Aka at the Chumleys’ estate. We may not see them at that one this year!

    • Che says:

Don’t they have to go to the Chumley’s event to make it appear like there isn’t an issue?

    • BritWoman says:

We see these photos every year.

      • Nic919 says:

We don’t see photos of this event every year and we rarely see William near kids in photos outside of tour events.

    • V. says:

We actually see pics of their children at this type of events (horse trials and polo matches) and these photos are different than the ones taken at the park near home while stalked by some photographer.. which are on the other hand the type of pics that are not published.
      There’s a precise difference.

  9. MissyS. says:

I was thinking how much ridiculous pressure it is for the Cambridges to always have to look like the perfect family. Perfection doesn’t exist in this crazy world, but here we have two human beings who have to pretend like they are most stable couple in the world in order to keep a fairytale alive. Even the tabloids are in on this farce, going as low as trying to destroy the reputation of the Sussexes in order to keep the Cambridges in a positive light. Such a silly and harmful way to live life.

    • Kittycat says:

William wants that image of the perfect family so I dont feel too bad.

It definitely feels like a glided cage the Cambridges are in.

      • Royalwatcher says:

He should do his part then by not (allegedly) sleeping around. That’s a good start on projecting a stable family image, staying faithful to his wife.

    • Mego says:

Fairytale family image = good pr = don’t have to work hard to earn public goodwill. No problem having pics of the kids published to serve that goal either.

I trust, since they took two weeks plus to spend time with the kids on their break, that the nannies got some time off too?

      • 90sgirl says:

Oh I doubt the nannies are ever completely off with Kate and three kids.

      • i says:

None of the royals work hard. None of them – not even the ones we like. It’s an indulged and spoiled life of splendor in return for a few photo ops, some public backbiting and a bunch of couture clad appearances.

      • notasugarhere says:

Some royals work harder than others. Anne and Charles doing 500+ engagements a year vs. Kate doing 100.

      • 90sgirl says:

Edward and Sophie do over 500+ engagements . Yes some royals do work hard for the Crown.

Kate did less days of work than pregnant Meghan so far this year.

  10. Margareth says:

OMG seeing those pics I can see that there are troubles between Kate and William. Their body language is awful

    • Saltandbake says:

One of the funny things that has emerged over the last few months are the countless royal analysis from so-called ‘body language’ experts! Pictures can fit whatever narrative you choose. Personally I think the body language theories are a bit of a reach!

      • Erinn says:

I agree. You can’t get a proper read off of a few photos. Body language can only tell you so much to begin with… and if you’re judging off photos even less.

      • norah says:

if people talk about the body language between harry and meghan then only fair to discuss kate and william

  11. Loretta says:

    They’re desperate.

  12. Weaver says:

It’s weird to me how the media props up this mediocre couple instead of rallying behind The Sussexes who appear to be everything they wish the Cambridges to be ( i.e. romantic, engaging, actually committed to their causes).

Tearing down Meghan in particular is all about neutralizing her advantages over Kate in terms of intelligence, accomplishments and work ethic.

    • MissyS. says:

The negativity thrown at Meghan made me like her more than the other members of the Royal Family. I am never in favor of tearing someone down in order to build up another person. These kind of hateful tactics usually backfire.

    • Cady says:

OOOOORRRRRRRRR, you can just let these people co-exist without having to pit anyone against another person. Shocking????

    • 90sgirl says:

Because for the UK ROyal press ,Kate and William have to be the golden ones in the press always and the U.K. Press will promote them that way and tear down anyone that comes in their sphere.

The U.K. , mainly Daily Mail has torn down almost every European Princess or European Queen to prop up Kate. The UK Royal press tore both Chelsy and Cressida to shreds. Chelsy was their whipping girl for years while Kate did nothing but party, club, vacation, boozy nights out with William….but it was Chelsy who the UK press ripped apart and called a party girl, when in reality she was studying at law school and not seen out as much as Kate.

The Cambridge’s IMO are so weak and mediocre, that the only way “Some” of the Royal press figures to sell them is to tear down others.

You can bet if there was even one report of Harry having an affair, it would be on front pages of UK press for months or years even and with special coverage. The U.K. Royal Media would have been all over the story if it was Harry.

  13. Abby says:

All I care about, cute kids alert

  14. Lexistential says:

I’m sure this event appearance was planned in advance (and a convenient one for a school break), but the fact that we’re seeing these at all smacks of PR here. “Affair? What affair? Look at my kids. The Sussexes aren’t giving immediate baby access? CHECK OUT MY KIDS.”

For someone who likes to threaten litigation, William certainly doesn’t mind weaponizing his kids for selfish effect now and again. If he and Kate went about sharing pictures of the kids similarly to the Swedish royal family, I would not suspect PR or selfishness.

The photos are totally adorable. The Tindalls seem to bring George out of any shyness and it’s wonderful to see him clearly being a kid. Charlotte and Mia Tindall are both cute too. (And the photos seem to be having a desired effect- the DM commenters are full of praise.)

  15. JByrdKU says:

Yeah, I wondered at first why we were getting these photos (btw, yes, super cute), and then thought OHHHHHH. Nice distraction attempt.

  16. TheOriginalMia says:

Using the kids for good publicity has worked in the past, might as well do it again. Except this is the wrong event and it’ll be super obvious when Kate and the kids don’t show up to Houghton. But oh well, let’s go back to screaming at Meghan and Harry about their birthing plans and how their desire for privacy doesn’t matter because the Brits own her womb and kid. Ignore the scandal in Norfolk.

  17. tempest prognosticator says:

Those kids are cute. Look at heir rosy cheeks.

  18. starryfish29 says:

According to twitter sleuths, many of the photos are credited to a guy who does PR photography. Either way, obvious pap stroll is obvious. The Cambridges are extremely quick to keep photos of the kids out of the papers when they want to, it seems they had no such concerns with these conveniently timed photographs.

  19. Jen says:

What are they drinking in the first picture? Beer?

  20. guest says:

Lol oh Kaiser. You’re going to get called out for this. I was yesterday 😂

Anyway kate is always seen with the kids and of course here is William playing super cool uncle. Then in all the other pics he is looking like a child sulking. There arent any pics of them interacting with each other. People can take from it when they will but to me it looks like classic pr 🤷‍♀️

  21. Becks1 says:

Ha, like I said yesterday, obvious PR is obvious.

I think some people are missing the point here though. Two things can be true at once – this CAN be a normal event for the Cambridges, planned well in advance, and the pictures can be a pure PR move. considering how protected those kids are, and how good Will and Kate are at preventing pictures of them from being published – whenever pictures ARE published I immediately wonder why. Here, it seems blatantly obvious that its to distract from the Norfolk scandal/rumors.

Those kids do lots of things that we never see or hear about. So when we do see pictures of them in public in UK publications, it has to be sanctioned.

    • Cerys says:

Exactly. W&K only allow pictures of the children when it suits them.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

I totally agree and they always do it around a time when they are not going to be seen in public for a while. William is his father’s son and he is also not above using his kids as PR tools.

There really is something about that story has that them spooked, could it be that it was/is more than a shag or two and is it still going on? Again, I don’t think the mistress is Rose but someone else who is part of that circle – Rose is being chucked under the bus to protect the Cambridges. She and Kate probably did have a falling out due to maybe Rose gossiping about it. I still think that the press painting Rose as the mistress is distracting from who the real mistress is and as I say its prolly still going on.

Like others, I think the reason why the brothers have fallen out is because W&K are throwing Meghan (a pregnant woman) under the bus to stop us from finding out about Big Willy’s indiscretions. And yes I totally believe him to be awful enough to do it.

      • BayTampaBay says:

Digital Unicorn, I agree with you. I do not see William as Rose’s type. I think there is/was an affair involving Bill Cambridge but Rose was not the hook-up. Rose has a reputation (from all I have read) of being very brainy, very artsy cultured and bohemian. Her husband appears to me to be the perfect match for her. I do not see her being interested in boring Bill Cambridge for a single nano-second.

    • notasugarhere says:

We may also get a picture of Louis, taken by Kate, around his 1st birthday next week.

  22. Cherie says:

Eh, this article could have written itself. It was inevitable that the first time they were photographed together or with the kids that it was going to be “obvious PR” regardless, I’m sure it was ready to go -insert event name- at the first sighting.

Having said that, I didn’t know there was a big horse event on the Chumly (typo and it stays) estate and that has me interested. Thats a no win if they appear or avoid it but I want pics!

  23. Leyton says:

Everyone kind of predicted this would happen. We haven’t seen the kids in months and even when they are spotted at different things, their lawyers work hard to not have the pictures published.

Some of these photos are credited to no one and others are credited to Stephen Daniels who, from his website, is a PR photographer. It’s not your usual Royal one and considering how William looks directly at him multiple times, I’m assuming he was hired?

    • jules says:

@cherie, agreed, people are going to see what they want with these photos.

    • V. says:

What if he was hired by those who plan the horse trial,as it often happens for these events (especially when royal family members are involved)? And yes, other pics were not even credited, which is strange for this PR masterplan.

  24. Cady says:

Do you purposely choose awful photos of Kate to be featured out of spite or something? I don’t really notice it with posts about other people. Even the post about Johnny Depp has a decent looking picture of him, even though he’s a monster, but this one features Kate half squinting in the sun?

    • Ceedee says:

The answer is a resounding yes.

    • JustSayin' says:

Ask the mainstream media why they always choose awful, degrading pictures of meghan and her mother. Or any black woman for that matter.
That’s way more dangerous and part of their agenda to humiliate BW.
But of course you don’t see that. None as blind as those who *choose* not to see.

      • Ceedee says:

So if others are doing it to Meghan and all the other black women, it is okay to do it in turn to Kate or to whomever you hate? Instead of calling them out, you will use the same tactic?

      • JustSayin' says:

I forgot to say I don’t think these pics of Kate are awful.
Sometimes cb choose photos where kate, or meghan for that matter, pulls a funny face. I never got malicious vibes from it.

      • Cady says:

I am talking about this site. The posts featuring photos of Meghan are usually beautiful. The posts featuring photos of Kate usually include ones of her squinting or grimacing. Calm the hell down with your “wah wah black women” stuff. I’m not talking about the freaking Daily Mail.

      • Bella DuPont says:

        @Crady

You mean to tell me that all of this wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth is over Kate squinting in a picture?

        😂😂

      • JustSayin' says:

        Eh, I’m pretty calm.
        You on the other hand…

I guess since RD shut you down you decided to come here. Lucky us.
And btw, I wasn’t referring to the fail.

      • Cady says:

I don’t even know what RD is? I’ve always visited Celebitchy and commented? wtf are you even on about?

      • JustSayin' says:

        Royaldish I believe it’s called.

You sound really angry and miserable by the way. Your whole vibe. Yuck.

      • Xoxo says:

“You sound really angry and miserable by the way. Your whole vibe. Yuck.”

Just because your opinions differ doesn’t mean it’s appropriate to personally attack someone, it’s a shame to see this on CB.

      • JustSayin' says:

        I haven’t attacked anyone.
        This cady person however…
“Wah wah black women”? Really? When I mentioned a serious issue. And she is the one who told me to “calm the hell down”.

    • Lady D says:

Cady, you think that’s a decent looking picture of Johnny Depp? Seriously? He looks like hell in those pictures, a really angry alcoholic, and he looks mean in them too. I think the last time he looked good was in the first Pirates movie.

      • Cady says:

It’s a decent picture to convey what he looks like now. There are most definitely tons of worse ones that could be used.

      • Lilly (with the double-L) says:

Ha ha @Lady D. My thought too. He looks terrible and the make-up is blech. He should have stuck with the eyeliner and not the self-tanner.

    • i says:

That’s a hypothetical question, right, because we all know the answer.

      • notasugarhere says:

Begs the questions why you are here, criticizing a website you don’t like. Easy to pick another website to frequent.

  25. dota says:

They gave her a half pint of stout. I was on a motorcycle and stopped at a pub in a tiny, tiny village in Norfolk and ordered a half pint of Guinness. All the old farmers looked at me funny and the publican told me he had never had that one ordered in a half pint before. I stopped doing that and got a shandy instead after that.

  26. 90sgirl says:

These PR moves may be done with every cheating rumour in the future w the Cambridge’s and might work, until the public just starts viewing Kate as a doormat who will do anything for that title,

  27. AJ says:

You called it last week! Bravo! William DOES look quite annoyed in several of the photos I’ve see on sites other than the Daily Mail. I get that he doesn’t like his kids photographed. But they ARE the heirs to the throne. The taxpayers support their lifestyle. He needs to get over himself sometimes.

    • Anitas says:

I find it creepy that the public would demand access to someone’s children based on how their lifestyle is funded. The children are not working and they’re too young anyway to make their own choices. The public doesn’t have any rights to them in any case. Just as creepy as expecting Meghan or Kate to present the baby to fulfill their “duty”. I’m a UK taxpayer and I’m perfectly happy with not seeing any of the royal kids if that’s how their parents decided.

      • AJ says:

Fair point. I’m not saying unlimited access. And I would never expect any woman to present a baby as a way to fulfill their duty. Like the whole notion of royalty, its an antiquated idea. But I don’t think that its fair for them to get mad when pictures do get leaked. They seem perfectly happy to stage opps like this but continue to be petulant in the photos (I mean William). I don’t limit my opinion to just the kids. I feel like the Cambridges seem very happy to collect the spoils of their job but do not like the public interest that goes with it.

  28. ShazBot says:

The thing that struck me most about these photos is that the kids are all very comfortable with all of the adults, so they obviously must spend enough time together to get to that level, which I had always assumed that William purposely didn’t spend time with his family. Though I guess it’s possible that they just spend time with the Tindalls. Zara and Kate don’t seem like they would have much to talk about though.

    • Erinn says:

I think you’re on to something there. I think probably the kids do get to see their cousins a decent amount, and it seems like Mike is someone who’s plenty happy to have the little ones hanging off of him. I know I’d love to see my niece and nephew more – but we see them once or twice a month. One is 3.5, and she still mixes my name up because her dad has a best friend with the male version of my name – and it confuses her that it can be a name for both. But she knows who “auntie and uncle” are – and she practically climbs all over my husband and he loves it. The nephew is a lot more mellow of a kid compared to his sister and he’ll just beam at my and hang onto my hair.

Thinking back though – I was always close to my cousins even though they didn’t live nearby. When they were around the families were always big on spending as much time together as possible – so while the kids might not see each other constantly, I think it’s pretty clear that they make a point of having them spend a decent amount of time together whenever they can.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

William and Zara were always close, they are similar in age and IIRC William introduced her to Mike. Also I think they live close to each other in Norfolk so I can imagine the kids spending a lot of time together.

      • notasugarhere says:

Harry introduced Mike and Zara in Sydney during a rugby tournament. Zara and Mike live on Anne’s estate near Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire. W&K live at Anmer on the Sandringham Estate. That’s 3.5 hours driving distance apart.

    • BritWoman says:

Regardless of the shade Not A throws, you can’t get kids to fake this level of comfort with adults. It’s obvious that these children all know each other and George seems friendly with the other kids at M&H’s wedding, too. What we learned from the big “cheating” scandal is that Kate and William have a social life, and friends, while most here have claimed for years that they don’t have any.

    • A says:

I think Zara and Kate have similar interests. Both of them are clearly into sports, so I imagine that they always have stuff to talk about. I think Mike and Zara have the sort of life that William wishes he had. They get the best of both worlds in that they have the money and the privilege that being descended from royalty gives you, but also the low key, private life away from the spotlight.

  29. Mumbles says:

George is so much cuter when they let him be a regular kid instead of the Little Lord Fauntleroy getup they put him in for official events. And Charlotte looks like she’s a pistol – there was a shot of her in the bumper cars where she looked like she was having a lot of fun.

  30. Louisa says:

    I’m sold. They’re perfectly happy 😉

  31. Sharon Lea says:

These photos struck me as a convenient PR event too. We’ve heard how K&W do not allow photos of them enjoying things, like petting zoos, or even strolls with baby strollers around Kensington Palace. It is very disheartening to see William using his children.

    • Ceedee says:

Maybe it is. But why should we slam them for it, because they usually do not allow pictures of the children? I think it’s one thing to allow a few pictures of the children to some events, and another to allow the paparazzi unhampered access to them all the time whatever they’re doing, i.e. going to the petting zoo, strolling through the garden, as you say. People here have been saying that they wish the Cambridges would let the people see more of the children, and maybe this is a sort of compromise.

      • V. says:

This is what I think too. There’s definitely a difference. And these are actually the pics we often see of them,so it’s not strange.

  32. ChiaMom says:

Kate’s uncencelled for now Wills can kick rocks

  33. Tina says:

A three week break for Easter is common in private schools in the UK. But remember, terms go well into July here, the summer break is shorter than in North America.

    • lingli says:

Really? I have friends with kids in private school and they have a 9 week summer holiday (as opposed to the 6 weeks my kids get in state school, lol). They finish at the end of June, two weeks before most of the state schools (great for visiting Legoland etc before the crowds, my friend says) and don’t go back until early September. I know the US schools finish much earlier (another friend in Florida finishes end of May) but they go back earlier too, I thought. Maybe it varies, though.

      • Tina says:

It definitely varies, but no US school would carry on past the end of June, and most break up long before that. Many do go back in mid-August, though, which is crazy to me given the heat in most of the US at that time.

      • BayTampaBay says:

Tina, Almost every US State School has central air conditioning so starting in August is not a problem. Schools in the mid-west start usually in mid to late August. This is important in case the schools are closed for 2-3 weeks of bad winter weather (i.e. a blizzard) because in the US schools must be opened for X amount of days to get state funding. If bad weather forces closing off schools, the days will not need to be made up because 2-3 extra weeks are built into the school calendar.

  34. Kate gets that that strained phony grin that reminds me of Brittney.

  35. Leena says:

Damned if she does, damned if she doesn’t!!!

  36. V says:

Why are these photos arranged? The Tindalls are photographed every year at this event,I think.
Why is it now “all shameless PR” simply because the Cambridges are with them?
I don’t know if they have gone to this particular event other times, but I’m sure I’ve seen other pics of them at similar events,so it’s not the first time.
It’s also common knowledge that William is particularly close to his cousin Zara and he’s also Mia’s godfather. I bet they also concocted the pap stroll with them too..
We can say they knew it was very likely they would have been photographed at a public event like that one,but all the photos are very natural. There’s not any over-the-top interaction, fake smile..
It’s also worth noting that most of the pics published by the Daily Mail were of the Tindalls, with very few pics with the Cambridges kids and no “close-ups”. It’s like they were testing the waters, which seem to contradict the fact that these pics were ‘sanctioned” by the palace. In fact a day later, the other tabloids have published the other pics of the children.
I highly doubt the Daily Mail didn’t have those ones too. Evidently nobody has protested, but it’s very far from assuming that they have arranged these pics and behaved accordingly.

I like how there’re always these fundamental certainties about what goes on “in the palace”,whenever there’s a narrative to push. So candids of the Cambridge family are ALWAYS sanctioned by “the palace” ,and I guess they are also carefully planned, because pics like these ones don’t suit the Sussexes’ fans brigade’s theories. Evenold candids of Williams and George,or William being affectionate with his cousins were probably preventive damage control for a rural rivalry and pseudo cheating scandal.. lol

    • Tourmaline says:

I agree with you V. DM and Hello always publish a ton of pictures of Zara, Mike, their kids, Peter and Autumn and their kids, etc. whenever they are seen in public at horsey events like this one, which is pretty often. They publish these pictures of the Tindalls and Phillipses whether or not the Cambridges or any other royals are present.

In addition to William being Mia’s godfather, Zara is one of George’s godmothers.

      • V. says:

These events have photographers too. In this case I think some pics are not even credited. And talking about this, just to add my two cents: when people talk about photos of the kids being sanctioned, they should take into account the context.
I believe they fight the publication (and at this point UK media know what they can publish without being sued) of those pics taken in “private” settings, and I think they have the right to do so.
Like,if they’re playing in the park near home they should not be stalked by photographers, even if it’s not inside KP. Also, sneaky pics taken with cellphones should be also checked. If they don’t set up those boundaries,it would be open season for the children too.
But whenever they attend public events, like horse trials,polo.. the situation is different, and it’s why we often see them photographed at this type of events. They know the setting and they know they will probably photographed. It doesn’t make sense to sue and send warnings. It would be quite dumb. Probably tabloids are careful, but I doubt they are asking for permission.

    • JustSayin' says:

It’s not the same event. You’re thinking of a different one.
Someone already said it before but the usual event is Houghton horse trials and it’s in may.

  37. FuefinaWG says:

I happened to catch a little bit of Gone With the Wind last night on TCM. It was the part where Mammy makes a dress for Scarlett out of the green curtains … which immediately reminded me of the Carol Burnett show when they parodied GWTW with Went With the Wind (if you’ve never seen it, check it out on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8wVvGQ0P4Y .)
Whenever I see Kate in this green outfit I think of both.
(I actually like Kate’s green outfit, though.)

  38. Cee says:

did Mike get a nose job?
That’s all I care about – it didn’t seem like he could breathe properly.

  39. Julia says:

William will be heading to New Zealand shortly for an official visit – probably straight after Easter.

  40. CMChat says:

It’s spring and they are dressed like it’s autumn. I could never live in England.

  41. A says:

On the one hand, yeah these were clearly okayed by William, clearly in an effort to make it seem like all is well in the House of Cambridge.

On the other hand, I can’t really bring myself to care, because I’m loving these pictures of my girl/almost birthday twin Charlotte.

I hope for William’s sake that he’s maintaining somewhat decent relationships w/ his cousins. It’s nice to see him out with Zara and Mike. I think he’s definitely taking a leaf out of his grandma’s book when it comes to projecting an image of domestic bliss here (anyone else remember when the Queen “stepped out for dinner” in front of a crowd of cameras w/ Princess Alexandra and Princess Anne??) But I sure wish he’d follow that up with less threats to the press.

  42. Lavaish says:

That adultery story was picked up by US tabs. I think it’s obvious the gossip was bait at to whether the new fam can be trusted with palace deets. She obvi failed.

  43. Gm says:

Of course photos of William as a family man were in response to the affair rumors. For one thing usually at these horsy outings photos with kids are with Kate. For those of you either thinking Meghan/ Harry won’t do the same thing or saying Meghan not treated the same as Kate here, just wait, there will be something in the future they want to distract from and do the same thing ( cute photo ops with kids, dogs…) this is the BRF.
