The Sussexes posted a new photo of baby Archie for Father’s Day

People thought that we would get another Private Archie photo for Father’s Day and they were right. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex posted this Instagram on Sunday and we can see how Archie has grown a bit since his debut photos (where we couldn’t really see his face). It seems like this baby is bald! Or he just has some peach fuzz hair. I love that we don’t even see Harry’s face, but we see Harry’s hand and ring. Beautiful, evocative photo. I’m not going to get into some debate about who Archie takes after – babies change and who even knows.

Meanwhile, there’s been SO MUCH talk about the Sussexes’ planned trip to Africa later this year. I don’t know why these stories are everywhere in the past week, other than the fact that reporters love to write headlines including “Meghan” and “Africa.” There’s a story about how Harry really did want to move to Africa but Mean, Diva Meghan kept him from his dream, which is horsesh-t. There’s also a lot of conversation about whether Harry and Meghan will bring Archie when they do take this trip:

The Duchess of Sussex is preparing to make quite a comeback when she returns to royal duties in October. Meghan is returning to work in the fall, when she and Harry will be traveling to southern Africa for an official overseas trip at the request of the British government. It is not known whether the couple will be taking baby Archie, who will be around six months old, but sources close to the couple say they are unlikely to leave their son behind. Harry and Meghan recently appointed a nanny to help look after Archie, as Vanity Fair reported recently.

While Buckingham Palace has yet to release details of the Africa visit, it is understood that the couple will be visiting Angola and Malawi. It is also expected that Botswana, where the Duke is patron of the Rhino Conservation Botswana, will be included in the itinerary. Harry has referred to the country as his second home, and it’s where he and Meghan fell in love; the couple camped in the bush for several nights in the summer of 2016 shortly after they were set up on a blind date. They traveled to Botswana again for Meghan’s 36th birthday in 2017, and spent several days in the bush working with leading conservationists.

While the final itinerary for the fall tour is being pinned down by Buckingham Palace aides, the trip is at the request of the British Foreign Office and is expected to focus on youth empowerment, education and conservation causes close to the couple’s hearts. According to sources close to Harry and Meghan they hope to visit southern Africa “many times” over the coming years as they carve out new roles for themselves as “roving royals” working internationally, particularly in Africa.

[From Vanity Fair]

Ah, “the trip is at the request of the British Foreign Office.” A lot of royalists have said (or whispered) that Harry is one of the most-requested royals for overseas trips, and that he’s consistently more requested than William. This makes me wonder about William’s scheme to exile Harry and Meghan – was part of the scheme just a tantrum on William’s part because Harry was and is more popular outside of the UK (and perhaps inside of the UK)? As for whether they take Archie… my guess would be YES. My guess would be that they will not undertake the trip unless they get to bring Archie.

I think he looks like Harry. The eyes (since that’s really all we can see) and the hair from his uncle Wills. (Ok I jest. I needed to get that in). I read that a lot of people think it’s “unroyal” and very Hollywood to tease this way and not show the baby. Not sure about that and I’m not a royal expert. The picture is stunning and very modern. Maybe that’s what has their tail feathers all in a disarray.

And I can see why Harry is more requested. It comes through in the pictures, imagine the charisma in person. And Wills doesn’t have it. No matter how hard he tries or no matter how much he’d like it to assist in his royal duties, charisma is something you are born with. Sorry Wills. BUT, a smile every now and then and not looking like you are at a funeral would help too.

    • ytmer says:

Of course, one person’s stunning and very modern is another’s blurry and pretentious.

    • hunter says:

I think he looks smaller than he was a month ago?

      • Olenna says:

Babies can lose weight the first days after birth but steadily regain it if they are feeding without problems. I don’t think that FD’s photo is new, though. I think it was taken soon after Archie’s birth. Regarding how large the hand looks, this could be due to aperture setting or using a basic cell phone camera, which I’ve noticed can make objects in the foreground look out-sized.

    • justso says:

It’s called regal, kingly. Not pretentious and reaching. William was born with it; Harry (with Meghan’s uging) is struggling and not happy-at least in pics.

      • Olenna says:

Neither Harry nor William present themselves as kingly or regal. WRT their public personas, Harry seems to be more open and approachable, while William seems a bit reticent and less approachable. Nothing wrong with either personality, but neither have the old world charm and regal bearing of their father, which is understandable as things change with each new generation, royal or not.

      • goofpuff says:

Only if regal + kingly = bratty and stuck-up – Wills does not ever come up well in interviews or in person. He’s just not charismatic anymore.

I used to not think much of Harry either, but lately with his increased work ethic and the sussex instagram account’s reporting, he is looking much more regal and kingly to me.

  2. Neners says:

I squealed way more than is socially acceptable when I saw this picture yesterday. SN: I love that Harry wears a wedding band. It’s not necessary of course (and in his family in particular most people don’t) but I think it’s really sweet.

  3. anna says:

It is wonderful to see Archie. What amazing eyes he has! Wow.
I have to admit that I don’t like the photo itself. Baby hand on dad’s ring finger is just so cliche and insta-predictable…

  4. Myra says:

Archie is adorable. Early stages in looks but I think Harry thus far. I’m not sure who’s taking their photos but the Sussex’s should introduce him/her to the Cambridge’s. Their photos are stunning!

    • Peg says:

      Different strokes for different folks.

    • Sassy says:

Archie is a boy so it’s “him” cut the crap! The gender neutral story was shot down by the palace months ago.
You don’t have to like the parents but leave kids out of your nonsense.

      • gemcat says:

Sassy I think it was meant as a whoever takes the pics is a him/her NOT the baby.. however I fail to understand if Myra meant that the Sussex photographer should be introduced to the Cambridge one or the other way around..as in I am not too sure who Myra feels is the better photographer..

      • Becks1 says:

Myra thinks that this photographer is better than the one who does the Cambridge pictures.* She thinks the Sussexes should introduce “him/her” to the Cambridges so they can have better pictures.

*I think most of the professional Cambridge pics we have seen are from Chris Jackson, and then we get the pics that Kate takes.

      • Jaded says:

Sassy, lighten up…she’s referring to the photographer, not Archie.

      • PrincessK says:

        Sassy please apologize to Myra.

      • Sass says:

I just want to make it clear that Sassy and Sass are not same person. Yikes Sassy ctfo

      • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

        Whoa! Uncalled for.

    • Vi says:

I prefer a traditional photo. The quality if this photo is not really good and in my opinion, and the sepia insta filter ruins the pic.

  5. emmy says:

It’s a beautiful photo and I wish them all the best. But now we can stop pretending that they want TOTAL privacy for the kid? They just want to present him when it’s convenient which is fine. It’s their kid, their life. But this privacy/normalcy obsession is ridiculous.

    • Gingerbee says:

Why is it ridiculous to want privacy for your child, when there are these racist nut jobs out there. SMFH at this comment.

      • Seraphina says:

I think Emmy is trying to say that if they wanted total privacy for Archie, they wouldn’t be putting pics out there of him.

I’m not sure if they ever stated point blank: total privacy. And that would be so difficult considering he is Harry’s first born. Let’s throw in his American mom and all bets are off.

      • Olenna says:

Agree, Gingerbee. I don’t recall seeing anything in print or video where Harry /or Meghan stated they wanted TOTAL privacy for their child. This “privacy” narrative is often repeated by anti-Sussex followers and RRs but, with the exception of the actual birth plans, I don’t recall it being announced or inferred by them or their PR.

    • Beli says:

How about they know they are public figures so they release pictures every now and then to quench the thirst for them so they don’t have paparazzi flying drones outside their kitchen window?

Harry knows all too well that the media will never let he and his family will never be fully private, so they open the valve just enough to release the pressure and stop the whole thing exploding.

    • Becks1 says:

Have they ever said they wanted total privacy? He’s going to be a public figure. His grandfather will be king. But they want him to have as private a life AS POSSIBLE, especially since they know he wont be a working royal.

    • TOTORO says:

I didn’t ever think they ever came out and voiced a need for total privacy, I think they would prefer more control over the privacy of their child, which is exactly what they have exerted with the management publicity around his birth and subsequent exposure to the public via Instagram.

    • RoyalBlue says:

They are getting the privacy they want and I commend them for it. They wanted privacy about the birth and they got it. They know that more than 8 million persons on social media are interested in their family and they will release photos in their own terms. The next time we see Archie will be at his christening I bet.

    • Hermione says:

Don’t believe the Sussex’s ever claimed to want total privacy for little Archie. Given who they are they both realize that’s impossible. But as others have said, they’re going to manage things to allow as much privacy as possible while also acknowledging the public’s interest in their son.

    • Jaded says:

When did they say they wanted total privacy? They are doing what makes them comfortable, not shoving the baby in front of a wall of howling photographers and just rolling out the occasional discreet photo one at a time. Good on them.

    • Everley says:

The Sussexes never said anything but it’s their fans here who put them on a pedestal and claimed that they would raise Archie privately unlike the Cambridges. Funny how the narrative changes when do exactly what they accused and the others of doing.

      • Olenna says:

@Everley, I’m pretty certain it was not CBrs who said Archie would have a completely private life, i.e. no media or public exposure. Some here said he would be a private citizen and not a working royal, which is not the same as raising him in complete privacy (which would be nearly impossible). If CB is that influential, widely read and quoted, then the stalkers, RRs and tabloids need to start giving this site and its commentariat credit as their sources.

    • entine says:

total privacy? nope, they wanted more or less the “private citizen” status of the other minor royals, ,as that’s what many hennish types like to cackle.

  6. Loretta says:

Baby Archie is such a cutie! I think he has Meghan’s nose and Harry’s eyes. What a beautiful little boy!

  7. Hudson Girl says:

Ha! I love that after another week of news and social media ripping Meghan’s balcony appearance they post a pic of Archie helping his father give the critics the middle finger! LOL.

    • TOTORO says:

@hudsongirl OMG! The royal middle finger! Now I can’t unsee it! AND I LOVE it, if it were indeed true 😆 go team Sussex!

      • Hudson Girl says:

Right! You know first time parents of newborns have about 20,000 pics to choose from (rough estimate) yet they chose THIS one… Given the circumstances, my favorite baby pic yet. The ROYAL MIDDLE FINGER.

  8. Other Renee says:

Yes, the photo is interesting and artistic and is meant to focus on the bond between father and child. Nevertheless, I still would have preferred to see the baby’s face. Everyone wants to see his cute little face.

    • Seraphina says:

I’d like to see his face too, but I am smiling at how Megs and Harry are playing this game. Already breaking royal protocol with everything involving this child. I would too. So tired of hearing people say that the Cambridge Kids are all that matter. Well, since they are all that matter (royally speaking) we will not follow the protocol needed. Good for them.

      • Beli says:

        What protocol are they breaking?

I only ask because (for once!) I’m not seeing any headlines screaming about them breaking protocol and given the press’s tendency to just make protocol up, if they were actually breaking some rule you can bet there would be stories in the papers.

      • Olenna says:

Protocol implies official, and I don’t believe there are official BRF rules or guidelines for releasing baby photos to the press. The Cambridges do as they please, releasing and even copyrighting some of their photos, so I’m not sure what that has to do protocol in any sense either.

    • a says:

We may want to see his face, but we’re not really entitled to see his face and we shouldn’t feel that we are either. All in good time. His parents know what’s right.

      • ytmer says:

I feel like the UK taxpayer, at least, is entitled to see his face. They’re going to put him through university after all.

      • Hermione says:

@ytmer…be gone foul demon, be gone.

Archie is not the property of the UK taxpayers and they are not entitled to see his face or anything else.

      • Linda says:

        @Hermoine
Your response to yammer tells a lot about your character and the kind of person you are.

      • notasugarhere says:

The UK taxpayer will pay for W&K’s kids education and pay for them for life. They aren’t going to be paying for Archie’s education, nor will he be a working royal.

      • Gingerbee says:

@Hermione and Nota, agreed with both of you. These angry trolls could not wait to post their garbage.

  9. RoyalBlue says:

I love the photo and think they want to do the countries of Africa tour with Archie. Of course they are more popular than the Cambridges, polls be damned. Harry’s father’s day post got over 2 million IG likes vs William’s post. Regardless what Piers, the Sun and the whole lot of them want you to think. Harry is the people’s prince and his mother’s son.

    • MrsBump says:

I’m sure harry is more popular than william but i don’t think we can use these two instagram posts as reference.
Meghan is teasing out pics of Archie, she knows how to play the instagram game for likes. The kensington account went with a picture that we’d already seen from an event that happened not to long ago.
So of course the sussex posts had more likes. It’s just common sense.

      • Stephanie says:

        @MrsBump
None of the Cambridges kids pics has ever reached 2 million likes (often not even more than a million) even if the pics were new. Indeed to tell the truth the only photo on the Kensington IG to have 2 million likes is Harry and Meghan wedding’s portrait.

      • MrsBump says:

To be fair, I dont remember seeing teasers of the cambridge kids on instagram.
The official “first look” pics taken by kate were always released via traditional media ? But i could be wrong of course. I imagine if kate had done the same sort of roll-out with george, the interest would have been the same.

Her picture were also rather traditional full on portraits and not arty insta shots. Look at all the comments here on possible hidden meanings being attributed to this pic. Meghan knows what she’s doing because once we’ve seen a few full on portrait shots of Archie the public thirst will decrease. People will still be interested of course, but the frenzy will go down somewhat.

      • Becks1 says:

@MrsBump – I think the Cambridges have started using IG to release pictures, like the pics of Charlotte for her bday, I think were on IG first and then released directly to outlets. (or maybe never for the latter.) But I think they were released on IG first.

ETA: and re “likes” I don’t think that means a whole lot except that Harry and Meghan are ridiculously popular. But I also think that one of the first pics of Baby Archie is obviously going to generate more buzz than the pics KP released.

      • MrsBump says:

        @becks
I’m pretty sure that the very first pics of baby Charlotte were via traditional media and not insta.
I think it was a picture of Charlotte next to george or something ?

      • Becks1 says:

@MrsB – oh I see what you are saying. I thought you meant just in general with pics of the kids. I cant remember what they did with Charlotte (like where it was released first.) I know it was released on IG, but maybe they released it to the media first.

      • RoyalBlue says:

Becks that was my original point of the post, how wildly more popular H&M are but then the other poster said you can’t judge from likes.

I also loved the clarencehouse IG father’s day post which was not artistic but the comments really complimented Harry’s relationship with Charles.

      • Vi says:

Yes,those posts are not comparable. And if William and Kate released a new pic of the children they would have been accused of “competing” with Harry and Meghan because this was Harry’s first Father’s day. I see they posted a pic with Charles and William which was nice. It wasn’t only about William.
@Stephanie Louis’ two birthday pics got around 3 million of likes put together, and Charlotte got a similar number of likes too.
I would say the Cambridges’ children get equal attention. In this case this was also a first pic of Archie,or to put it better, M&H were teasing a first look at his face.

  10. aquarius64 says:

    Daddy I can’t see.

  11. a says:

From what we can see at the moment, little Archie looks just like Meghan’s dad.

    • Frida_K says:

      Bless your heart.

    • Sassy says:

I wish you guys were better at trolling because this is pathetic.

    • Lorelei says:

You think he looks like Meghan’s dad? Every comment I’ve seen says he looks just like Harry (from what little we can see) and I agree.

    • bread says:

I was thinking the same thing, there’s definitely something Thomas Markle about the nose and the forehead.

      • Lexa says:

I also think that while he has Harry’s overall face shape, the eye shape and nose do remind me quite a bit of TM. I don’t think it’s trolling to point that out when Meghan also inherited some of her own looks from him, including, as she fondly called it on the Tig, the Markle nose. But babies’ looks change, and I imagine he’ll start looking more and more like Harry as he gets older.

    • (TheOG)@Jan90067 says:

Yesterday, when I first saw the pic, I commented here that (to me) Archie looks just like Meghan’s baby pic (the dark eyes, “Markle Nose”). Then, after being reminded of Harry’s Christening pic on Diana’s lap, I thought, “Hmmm… I can see Harry’s face now…” Considering Harry and Meg have similar nose shapes, it makes sense that Archie will “resemble” one of them right now lol. He *will* change a lot as he grows in this first year alone!

I remember thinking Charlotte was ALL Carole M. in the pic Kate released on her 1 yr. birthday; now, Char is ALL William/QE. We’ll see who Archie ends up resembling…eventually 😊

      • Elisa says:

same here! my first thought was: he totally looks like her dad and then: but also like Harry?

    • Jaded says:

      Oh my…Thomas is that you?

  12. Peg says:

I had a feeling we would be seeing Archie hands on Father’s Day, but lo and behold his face is in the picture.
It’s their child and their choice, how to photograph him and when to show his picture.
Funny seeing every media outlet using the same picture.

    • RoyalBlue says:

Peg the Sussexes are controlling the narrative surrounding Archie. So they release a couple private pictures and those are the only ones circulating.

  13. Becks1 says:

I think he looks more like Meghan here? But I am notoriously bad at that (determining who someone looks like.)

I think its a sweet picture. I kind of like that his face is hidden, because it puts the focus more on Harry and the bond between Harry and Archie, which is appropriate for Father’s Day.

I don’t really care about not seeing his face, because he’s 5 weeks old and he’s going to change so much. In a year if we are still seeing pics with his face blocked I’ll be more annoyed lol.

  14. Seri says:

Have any of you seen video from the last royal event – Harry and Megan on the balcony, where it seems like Harry is being mean to Megan?

Baby Archie is mega cute ))))

    • Hudson Girl says:

Hi, I keep hearing that if you zoom back at that moment, the same thing happened between Prince Charles and Cam. I’m wondering if that is true, and if so, why aren’t we hearing about that? Hmmm…

    • Hermione says:

Please stop with that nonsense. The anti Meghan crowd has been beating that horse since Trooping. It didn’t happen so please don’t come to CB trying to stir things up. If people paid attention, Charles had the same interaction with Camilla. She was facing the wrong way and he told her to turn around. But of course that gets overlooked and the only thing people want to make up crap up on is Harry yelled at Meghan.

    • Peg says:

      That was an edited video.
Running from site to site posting this garbage, no one is falling for your lie, back to the dailymail with your ilk.
      Meghan is a big girl.

    • Jaded says:

Her name is spelled “Meghan” and he’s merely reminding her that God Save The Queen is about to start. That is all. Stop this conspiracy BS.

    • Some chick says:

There was already a lengthy post about this, which would be a more appropriate place for your comment. Here, it is off topic.

    • notasugarhere says:

Another new poster on here claiming the troll-edited video is real. And water is wet.

      • Gingerbee says:

@Nota, as I mentioned above, angry trolls are out in force. It seemed as though Archie’s picture triggered them.

  15. Snowflake says:

I was at the nail salon and picked up a copy of OK magazine. They had some stupid article in there saying meghan and the queen got into a screaming match and the queen banished them to Africa for 4 years. According to an “insider.” I couldn’t believe they were publishing some b.s. like that. I wonder who gave them that story or if the insider part was made up. I don’t believe meghan would yell at the queen. Then they threw a sentence in at the end about how Meghan wants what’s best for her child. Trying to make it seem like they weren’t trying to throw under the bus! Obvious smear job! 😕

    • Lanne says:

Now there’s a story about the queen planning a birthday party for Meghan at Balmoral this summer. Any “screaming” stories are likely fiction. I can’t imagine the Queen screaming. Why would she? People do what she says. Why would Meghan scream at anyone, much less the queen? How many women go around screaming anyway? I don’t, and I teach high school kids! Stories about women screaming are misogynistic tripe, playing on the “women are emotional messes” bs.

    • Hermione says:

OK Magazine = In Touch magazine = National Enquirer = US Weekly = Daily Mail = The Sun = Royal Reporters. None of them are credible sources and make up crap all the time. None have “insider information” from actual real sources. It’s basically fanfiction.

      • HMC says:

My favorite (and by favorite I mean most ridiculous) tabloid headline I read about Harry and Meghan was in a doctor’s office. The ghost of Diana possessed the unborn baby to punish Camilla (and of course it was certain that Harry was going to name the baby Diana, 100% fact according to them in April).

    • hunter says:

This is hilarious. As though the Queen would not only engage in a shouting match, but that anyone in the palace would murmur a word of it, I’m not buying any of it.

  16. Peg says:

First of all I don’t think Meghan is a screamer, I think she goes silent.
OK magazine, is giving the Queen more power than she possesses.
There is another story out there, that the Queen throwing Meghan a birthday party at Balmoral.

    • Sassy says:

OK mag is as reliable as an umbrella made out toilet paper in a thunderstorm.

    • (TheOG)@Jan90067 says:

The “story” is a summer invite to visit Balmoral with Harry and Archie in August (around Meg’s birthday date) after the Christening. Nothing about TQ “throwing a party” for Meg.

    • Jaded says:

      What drugs are you on?

    • CuriousCole says:

Peg, I agree on Meghan being the going silent type. I’m the same, I refuse to say anything that 1) might unnecessarily hurt my partner and which 2) hasn’t been weighed out by my brain. It took him two years to get used to this lol, apparently it’s quite unnerving for someone who’s only had vicious screamers in the past. Interesting to note, royals have gone on record that the Queen has never lost her temper, she also goes silent, and assumes a look that alarms even the Corgis. It would be cool if Meghan shares that quality.

      • notasugarhere says:

HM had a temper in her early years. A journalist caught video of her yelling and throwing her shoes at Philip when he was running out of their cottage carrying his tennis racket. This was during an oversees tour iirc. Journalist deleted the video, because that’s what they did back then.

  17. Britt says:

He’s too adorable and I love that they’re controlling his images and likeness and not giving the media what they want. Oh and the person who said that Meghan is keeping Harry from his dream is Angela Levin. She has a serious dislike for Meghan for some reason and every time she speaks of her it reaks of bitterness. I don’t know if these people are afraid of her but they keep blaming her for Harry actually growing up and rightfully blacking out the Media, who for some reason have no self awareness as to why he his protective and angry at them. They don’t want to take any responsibility at all.

    • Lanne says:

Angela levin fancies herself as Harry’s biographer. Apparently she wrote a book about him and interviewed him directly. She also accompanied him on his travels for a while. What I don’t get is that since the wedding, she’s been acting like a jealous mother in law. Someone needs to explain to her that writing a book about Harry does not make her his mother. And she isn’t likely to get any more access to him with the way she’s talking about his wife. She’s a nasty hack.

      • Britt says:

Her, Arthur Edwards and Duncan Larcombe seem to have this entitlement over Harry. It’s actually creepy to be honest. Just because you met him a few times and interviewed him doesn’t mean you’re entitled to everything about his life and especially his family. And you’re right about Angela, she keeps bashing Meghan, Harry will probably never speak to her again. He probably made that choice already since this isn’t the first time she’s bashed his wife. The man gave his warning 2016 with that statement and for some reason they didn’t take it seriously.

      • MargaritasForBreakfast says:

I believe she is an aunt or godmother of Cressida or some other posh young socialite Harry was expected to marry. Angela Levin has outright stated she would have preferred for Harry to marry “an English Rose”.

  18. Peg says:

If Archie skip the Trooping of the Colors next year, it will be because he can stay at home watch the planes fly over all day.
No need to be on an overcrowded balcony.

  19. Enn says:

Super cute photo, but the sepia tint definitely reminded me of the “old west saloon” pics we would take on the boardwalk in the 1980s. Kids with guns in their garters (dressed as ladies of the night, no less)! 😂 Do they even still do those?

    • Boxy Lady says:

OMG So many people at DM complained about the sepia tint. “We can’t see if he has Harry’s red hair! Meghan’s hiding it from us!” It was ridiculous. Also, lots of comments about needing to cut Archie’s fingernails. 🙄

I just liked the picture. I thought the tint added a touch of class or made it just a bit less ordinary.

I think the sepia tone is smart. All these RRs and commenters are hoping for colour photos so they can see how much like Meghan he is – as in, how black he looks. That’s why they’re bitching.

      • PrincessK says:

Lol! The baby definitely has reddish blond hair. The big reveal will be at the christening. I hope he has curly hair. People are so obsessed with this baby and what it will look like, and for that reason Harry and Meghan are holding back. Good for them l say.

      • notasugarhere says:

If they’re doing it to frustrate the haters who are hunting after skin tone, I’m all for it.

      • Lady D says:

Me too, nota. It makes me laugh to see them frustrated.

    • Vi says:

That sepia insta filter is bad. It’s like they’really ruing to hard to give their pics a “vibe” and the result isn’t very good. In my opinion. The baby looks very cute, and I see something of Harry and Meghan. But I don’t like the composition with the hand that looks huge in a distracting way.

  20. I love it! Gives fans an adorable glimpse at baby with beautiful imagery in keeping with Fathers Day and keeps just enough mystery so that naysayers heads will explode. It actually gave me a touch of baby fever for a few minutes.

  21. starryfish29 says:

His eyes & nose look like baby Meghan, and the brow/forehead region looks like baby Harry. It’s an adorable photo.

  22. Kay says:

What a cutie pie!! I’d love to kiss that little forehead 😍. I would be very surprised if they leave him behind when they go to Africa. I think most royals since Charles and Diana took baby William to Australia back in the 80s take their babies on tour?

    • (TheOG)@Jan90067 says:

I would think the myriad of shots needed would be too much for baby Archie at what, 5, 6 months? He’d probably have to be “based” somewhere? An embassy? And M&H would travel to where they are “working” that day, and back to Archie at night?

  23. MrsBanjo says:

Looks are so hard to predict at this age. Everyone said throughout most of my childhood how much my brother looked like my mom. Yet, as an adult he’s a clone of my father. Whereas everyone always told me I looked like my father, but share zero features of his other than hair texture. Even my own kids’ looks have flip-flopped between my husband and me over the years. It’s anybody’s guess at this point.

    • Carmen says:

This is true. When my son was born everyone said he was the spitting image of his dad. But now everyone says he looks like me.

  24. Emilia says:

I’m glad they are doing things their own way. The tabloids are terrible toward Meghan and her friends.

  25. Soupie says:

What a cute baby and great photo. That’s all I’ve got.

  26. Sam says:

Aww i love the picture, he’s cute and very alert. As for looks,he is only a month old but he looks like both Harry and Meghan to me.

I dont know why people dont want them to release pics of Archie, bringing in the bs “i thought they wanted privacy” argument *eye roll*
Its Harrys first fathers day, their baby and their account, they can do what they like.

  27. SippingRoyalTea says:

This whole privacy narrative is mostly about the media theorizing and speculating about what Harry and Meghan want. The Sussexes have never said they wanted “total privacy” or that they were going to hide Archie from the public as a matter of fact they’ve basically done the same thing others in the family have done before they just adjusted it to fit their family. They presented the baby to the world 2 days after his birth instead of in front of the hospital which was what they always planned to do but the press needed a narrative so they went along instead of reporting what was actually going to happen, and the Sussexes aren’t controlling Archie’s image any more than the Cambridges control thing for their children.

  28. Well-Wisher says:

A cute baby pic. I am baffled by the ongoing African trip when Harper’s Bazaars quelled that scenario in terms of Meghan’s immigration status and the confirmed trip to Canada and the US. Would a couple with a small baby go on long trips? Babies need on going check ups and vaccinations. Why would they be so reckless in terms Master Archie’s health?

Maybe it is to provide the needed royal articles for Father’s Day? If so,I suffice that the unconfirmed date of the christening would have been enough.

  29. New_Kay says:

I don’t know why it bothers me so much. But I am 1000% convinced that there is a conspiracy to ensure that a Harry and Meghan’s Instagram page does not gain more followers than Williams and Kate’s. Without fair if Harry and Meaghan jumps then so does there’s by the same amount.

    • Brandy Alexander says:

Or maybe if you like royalty enough to follow the sussexes, you like it enough to follow the cambridges too? That’s what I just recently did, after never having followed either of them. So they both both got the same amount of follows.

    • notasugarhere says:

Didn’t someone do an analysis and most of the KP followers never like or respond to anything? As in, easily could be thousands of bots created by the 20 Meghan haters. They have multiple names on DM, why not multiple IG accounts.

      • New_Kay says:

@notasugarhere this is what I think. They have bots following or purchased followers. The increase in followers from the time Harry and Meghan joined Instagram is unnatural. The reason I think this is interesting is that it speaks to the level of insecurity and the intensity of palace machinations in ensuring that HandM do not overtake W and K in any really Public way in terms of popularity.

  30. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

Gorgeous photo. But I’m partial to more artistic pic endeavors. From everything I’ve read throughout the years about the royals, collectively or individually, I certainly lean toward Harry and now his wee family unit. I completely agree with anyone thinking he’s more popular. He’s more down to earth. His wife is more down to earth. This makes them more relatable. And despite the relentless tabloid attempts to mar their existence in insufferable totality, they simply can’t overcome the truth that Harry and Meghan are positively popular, well liked, well received and preferable lol.

  31. TheMummy says:

Around the eyes he looks JUST like Harry.

  32. Lily says:

Archie is such a cutie pie!

  33. Sofia says:

It’s a cute photo. His parents are doing all they can to control the narrative from the start around his life. They won’t lock him up till he’s 18 but we’ll see glimpses of him and official photos. If you ask me, this is pretty much how the Cambridges do it and they’ve got an heir and working royals in their bunch.

  34. Citresse says:

The baby photo is lovely. I’m looking forward to more next month from the Christening.

  35. Reece says:

My general demeanor on father’s day is “Meh, I didn’t have one sooo…tacos for dinner?”
But those little baby fingers holding on to his dad and his too big onesie! An unnatural amount of “AWWWW” came out of me when I first saw this. I still can’t!

  36. blunt talker says:

In my mind harry/meghan are going to control the narrative for their son come hell of high water. Since he will not be a working royal, having anything to do with when he seen, how he is seen, and where he is seen is up to his parents. These royal philistines{reporters} are evil and sadistic to keep up so much fuss about an infant who will never sit on the throne. They shall reap what they sow. If his parents are working the crown, why worry about a baby who will not be working for the crown unless he wants to. I do believe the Duke/Duchess will be working overseas more often than at home in Britain. These philistine reporters need to take their complaints to Charles or the Queen. Why bother harry/meghan about it. The cruelty in mankind knows no boundaries.

  37. ellie says:

Does anyone not notice that the photos of the baby never show his whole face? There is always something blocking the bottom half of the photo. I know I am not the only one to notice this. Please leave a comment if you have noticed.
