  1. Incredulous says:

Deploy the hot take meltdowns please.

    • dota says:

Why? There have always been multiple 00X agents. If they called her Jane Bond then there would be grief.

  2. Didon says:

The manta Ray story… Who’s cutting onions..?

    • antipodean says:

I am Didon! That video was so amazing and touching. I loved the Ghandi quote at the end, so true, and so needed in this current toxic environment when all sentient life is under threat from blind, greedy, elected fools!

    • A.Key says:

      YES

  3. Nicegirl says:

    Oooohhhh I love her, yay!!

  4. Mia4s says:

Well, interesting I guess. But I’ll reserve judgment until I see if she dies or Bond sleeps with her. Or more likely sleeps with her before she dies. 🤷‍♀️

  5. Chrissy S says:

Regarding the marijuana cake, the baker made a mistake and it cost her her job. No one is talking about that though

    • lucy2 says:

That seems like an overreaction, considering the customer was fine with it, paid for it, and didn’t throw a big fit or anything.

    • Amanduh says:

Looks like they offered it back to her and she declined. Good for her.

      • Chrissy S says:

That’s good to hear. Despite her mistake the cake turned out cute so I’m sure she’ll land another job

  6. Lucy says:

Heads up, heads up! Austin Butler, and NOT Ansel Elgort, will be playing Elvis Presley. Phew.

  7. Victoria says:

    What happened to the podcast???

  8. MamaT says:

I am happy with Lynch getting the 007 moniker/designation. I never saw the purpose of “making sure” a minority or woman got to play “James Bond”. To me, they each are deserving their own character rather than old, recycled one. Bond is just one *00* designated MI6 agent. We should have more of them in every color of the rainbow.

There’s no reason why Idris Elba can’t be 009 and Oscar Isaac can’t be 004, maybe Gina Carano sporting 003 , ya know?

    • MamaT says:

actually, maybe Idris can be 0069 *wink*

      • FredsMother says:

@MAMAT 😁😂🤣👋🙌🙌🙌🙌 My kind of people. 0069 is Idris’ name henceforth.

    • May says:

What they may do is have James Bond come out of retirement and then be killed ending James Bond forever. Then the future of the franchise would become 007. That way they could cast anyone they wanted as 007.

  9. Cali says:

I was looking for IDRIS😢 this seems like its gonna be weird, but I’ll wait until I see the movie as of course I have to support this. She’s gorgeous on another note.

  10. tealily says:

I dunno, this just feels like yet another reboot with a woman and/or person of color taking over the helm from a white dude. Progress I guess, but can we get some actual new stories instead of rehashing the same old sh-t ’til we die please? Yawn.

    • Libby says:

Thank you! It’s a progressive crumb, or a pacifying lollipop. I would love original stories from different cultures, different heritages, different voices. It’s such a hollow victory to just force a woman and/or minority into a white man’s role rather than actually try to tell a new, interesting story from that person’s perspective, heritage or culture. We seem to have reached an apex in the “pandering is positive” mentality and I think it’s really so disrespectful and lazy. It’s a way to make people think they are getting a small victory but in reality, what they are really saying is “you’re story/voice isn’t important/interesting enough to merit any work into creating a new character or story so we’ll just plop you in here so you think you’re getting something.”

    • Xi Tang says:

That’s not it. Apparently Bond will be retired and Lashana is the current 007 agent that is sent to recruit him back.

      • Libby says:

I’m all for it if she is her own, unique character. Loved her in Captain Marvel and hope she’s given something really good in the new Bond.

      • tealily says:

What’s not what? I read it… handing over duties to another agent, but this time she’s a *lady*! Eh.

  11. Linn says:

“Bond, of course, is sexually attracted to the new female 007 and tries his usual seduction tricks, but is baffled when they don’t work on a brilliant, young black woman who basically rolls her eyes at him and has no interest in jumping into his bed. WELL, CERTAINLY NOT AT THE BEGINNING.”

So another story telling men that you just need to “be persistent” with women and they will fall into your bed. Yikes.

  12. EviesMom says:

Podcast!! My morning commute is becoming very depressing as I have Casefile episodes filling in where the Celebitchy podcasts used to go! Come back!

  13. RomanH says:

The Bond thing is minority pandering again, like gay characters in superhero movies. Guess based on rumors: movie opens with Bond still unemployed. We learn Lynch has been given the 007 number. Bond decides he wants his job back and Lynch disappears. Then we get the usual straight-white-male-movie-lead.

Get excited for this if you want but it’s about 50 years behind the times for me (like the superhero gays). No thanks.

  14. liriel says:

It feels forced. 007 is so hmm. antique in a way but should be left alone.

  15. Reece says:

I still haven’t seen Captain Marvel but I will be there for this!

  16. Hyacinth Bucket says:

Honestly it feels like a PR stunt. She’s not playing James Bond and I doubt she’ll have a large role. Most likely she’ll have a cameo or small supporting role then never be seen again.

  17. Patty says:

Seriously. I don’t understand all the silliness over Bond. The whole concept is silly and antiquated. Personally, I’d rather see new and fresh stories by people who look like me, for people who look like me. Who cares about Bond at this point. Also, I’m more concerned about real world equity.

  18. B says:

They could have picked a more attractive woman. Those eyebrows. Sheesh
