Sarah Hyland, 28, has gone through some tough times recently. Of course she’s on one of the most successful and long-running sitcoms and is doing well professionally, but she’s had serious health problems including two kidney transplants. Sarah’s boyfriend, former Bachelorette contestant Wells Adams, 35, has been there for her. They made their couple debut on Halloween in 2017, when they dressed as Stranger Things characters, and seem to have met sometime that Summer through social media. They’ve been really demonstrative with their love and now they’re engaged! Wells posted a video of his beach proposal, that’s above. He also said some very sweet things about Sarah in a recent interview, as US points out. They’ve been living together since July.
The Bachelorette alum moved into the Geek Charming actress’ L.A. home in July and a source told Us later that month that they “are extremely serious.” Added the insider: “[Sarah has] never been this serious about anybody and all of her friends completely support them and think Wells is great for her.”
The duo have had wedding bells on the brain since taking that step. Back in September, Hyland told Us that Adams is “The One” for her. The radio DJ shared a sweet sentiment about The Wedding Year actress later that month, telling Us that he’s already thought about their nuptials.
“My family would be involved and they would ruin the entire experience because they’re crazy,” he joked at the time, noting that the ceremony won’t be televised. “They would have too much fun at the wedding and that would be a whole other story. Chris Harrison would kick my brother out of a part and be like, ‘You’re too drunk, you need to leave.’ Maybe [Chris would officiate]. He’s good at it. I think Chris just lives with camera crews following him around. I don’t think I would want that.”
The video got me a little! I loved the sweet photos of them interspersed with the proposal video. The song is called “I Like to Be With Me When I’m With You” by Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors. Sarah also posted the photos of the proposal and they both look so thrilled and in love. Those are below. Marriage can be tough, but I found this touching and am rooting for these two.
Her engagement ring is gorgeous. It’s hard to see but that’s pear-shaped, right?

I guess it’s possible he did it for self promotion or kicks or whatever, but it’s still side-eye deserving.
That said, I think he truly is her biggest fan, and it’s not easy to find someone who is able to get through the low points of a chronic condition (it’s hard on ANY relationship) – and even harder to find one who’s an absolute cheerleader for you during those times, so he’s gained a few points back from me in that way.
I definitely agree with that – I don’t necessarily hate him or think he’s wrong for her…just that if this was his way of self promotion, that’s also shady. I just hope he continues to support her and treat her well.
I watch the Bachelor/ette (it’s a guilty pleasure!) and he’s actually a sweet guy.

Very sweet she’s been through a lot but not loving this “filming the engagement” trend (apparently for non-celebs too, hiring photogs to capture every second for the GRAM!!). Everything is a g-d performance.
Yeah like how does the boyfriend explain why they have someone with a professional camera following them on their walk on the beach (oh and btw make sure you wear a pretty dress and fully accessorize with hair and makeup – no reason)?

She has been through a lot so I hope he’s the one and is genuine. His background has some red flags (Bachelorette contestant? Meeting on social media? Hmm.) but if he was really a bad person he probably would have bounced when she got sick. They look cute and happy together!
I think she contacted him first so he gets a pass from me for the social media meeting, if that’s how it happened.
I usually think the same thing, but two years is a long time, and they seem to lead a real, normal life away from the camera most of the time. I’m REALLY cheering for them to work out. They seem really in love.
So was he saying the wedding won’t be televised or that the proposal wouldn’t be? They shared it to Twitter and will be viewed by millions sooo??? Happy for her but doesn’t it seem like he’s found his meal ticket and claim to fame and he’s locking it down? Stay away from fame whores is the first rule of finding “real” love in Hollywood no? We’ll see I guess. Nice thing: I like the ring.
That’s how I feel about this showmance but I’m cranky this morning. Also, I can’t stand this big brow look that’s in right now, she has too tiny of a face for those big of brows.

They look so happy and cute! It is hard to tell the cut of the diamond, I’d say oval, with pear as a second possibility.

I am happy for them. She chased him for a long time, (publicly, on social media), so I don’t think that he is after her for a meal ticket. He seems like a very sweet guy, and has treated her well throughout her surgeries, etc. I say this as a widow of a man that had a heart transplant, and was in and out of the hospital most of our married life…the fact that Wells has stuck around despite Sarah’s ongoing health issues tells me that he is in it for love. It’s not an easy road. I wish them nothing but happiness and a long life together, filled with love.

I’d have my tailor shorten it a bit but that’s a pretty summer dress.
