The Duke & Duchess of Sussex just want to be called ‘Harry & Meg’ in Africa

Harry and Meghan touched down in Cape Town this morning after an overnight BA flight from London

Here are more photos from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first event in Cape Town, South Africa. They arrived in Cape Town… probably around noon/mid-day if I’m estimating the time difference correctly. Meghan’s Mayamiko dress was a lovely touch, even though it looked like she regretted not taking a few precautions with the “wrap” part of the skirt. This is not really the kind of dress where hem-weights would have been needed – perhaps she just needed to add some small safety pins along the skirt, just to ensure that she didn’t have to literally hold down the dress several times. Anyway, Vanity Fair did another story about what to expect from this tour and how prepared the Sussexes are for it. From this VF piece:

They’re there to WORK: According to aides, the message is clear: “We are here to work, this is not a holiday.” According to a senior source who has been closely involved with planning the tour since March, the couple want to meet as many South Africans as possible and make a difference where they can. “This isn’t a holiday and they don’t want it to look like one,” the source told Vanity Fair at a press reception in Cape Town on Sunday night. “This has been months in the planning and a lot of hard work has gone into the schedule. Their Royal Highnesses want to do some serious work on the ground, particularly at a community level.”

Archie has grown out of coloring books? It’s why Meghan will be bringing coloring books, pens, and clothes baby Archie has grown out of, to help impoverished families and children she meets.

They don’t want a lot of protocols and HRHs: The Sussexes want minimal fuss, formality, and protocol, and will instead roll up their sleeves and get to work with projects that mean something to them. The stakes are high: after a summer of negative headlines about their private air travel and ongoing rumors about tension among the royal family, sources say that Harry and Meghan are hoping a successful tour will get their popularity back on track. “It’s very much how they want things done,” the source said. “There is no protocol that says you have to bow or curtsy when you meet them, it’s really up to the individual.”

No one know when or if we’ll see Archie: Aides have declined to confirm if and when the Sussexes plan to include Archie in their engagements, but it is widely thought that presenting their son during the trip would curry favor with an expectant media and royal fans around the world. The press pack is substantial, with 80 accredited travellng media and 300 local media. At the couple’s request there is to be as little formality as possible.

[From Vanity Fair]

So now the British press is freaked out about regular people calling the Duke and Duchess of Sussex… Harry and Meg. Nevermind that nearly every media outlet still calls her “Meghan Markle.” Which, honestly, I understand. That’s just branding. As for the “this is not a vacation” thing – yes, THAT is a slam at William and Kate. Some of the Cambridges’ past tours have basically been holidays with a handful of events. The Sussexes want us to know that they’re going to actually WORK.

Some fun stuff, including Meghan dancing and Meghan making a speech:

I really liked Meghan’s dress but unfortunately it is sold out. Meghan’s hair is laid and looks so shiny. They had a lovely engagement and I loved their speeches.

  2. Melissa says:

That line about her bringing stuff Archie has grown out of is BS. If hand-me-downs weren’t good enough for SmartWorks, she’s not going to bring them to the children of South Africa.

    • Becks1 says:

I wonder if she is going to bring clothes that he was gifted but never wore. Babies grow out of things so quickly and if they received a lot of baby clothes, she probably has a fair amount that is unworn that she can donate. That makes more sense to me than bringing his old clothes.

      • windyriver says:

Yes, that’s what’s been reported elsewhere, she’s bringing clothes they were gifted for Archie. I’m sure they received a lot more than were needed.

      • Miss America says:

Exactly. I’m just a normal pleb and got so much stuff my son never wore most of it. They could probably dress 100 orphanages with how much stuff they’d have gotten from all over the world. I think it’s lovely they know they simply can’t use it so they’re donating it. And if they have another baby I’m sure they’ll get tons again, so unlike normal people thinking they’ll save it for the next baby, they are just being matter of fact. It’s very generous.

    • joji says:

How could a 4 month old grow out of a coloring book? He can’t even draw yet!

    • Moneypenny says:

I agree that it isn’t true. He’s 4 months old: he hasn’t grown INTO coloring books yet, let alone grown out of them.

      • Jessie says:

I’m pretty sure the statement is that she’s bringing those things PLUS clothes Archie has outgrown. Not that he has outgrown crayons and coloring books.

      • Deedee says:

Exactly! Whoever wrote that sentence didn’t structure it properly. Back to English 101 for some composition skills.

      • Who ARE These People? says:

Yes, bad writing. Plus kids actually color in coloring books, so they would have to be unused, not outgrown.

      • Moneypenny says:

Yeah, it’s just written poorly, but it is funny.

      • Mrs.Krabapple says:

Isn’t this the same publication that said the “Prime Minister” of South Africa would not be there to meet them? I mean, I guess that’s *technically* true because South Africa hasn’t had a Prime Minister since 1984, so how could one meet them? But I also think it shows the level of (non)education/research/writing skills of so-called “reporters” these days.

    • SippingRoyalTea says:

Who said hand me downs weren’t good enough for Smart Works? Smart Works survives on clothing donations and even Meghan has donated clothes there.

    • CN says:

Yes, that line about /It’s why Meghan will be bringing coloring books, pens, and clothes baby Archie has grown out of, to help impoverished families and children she meets.//

This is nonsense and clearly this person knows nothing abut babies. Archie is not using pens or colouring books at this age. I really wonder what was the point of including this obviously false information in the article.
One would hope that with time reporting about African countries could evolve from the single narrative about poverty and hand me downs and aid.

    • Peg says:

Meghan did not say hand me downs was not good for Smart Works.
She said there were not enough sizes and some of the styles were were not for a first interview.
Why would she asked women to donate clothes that they wore to interviews and got hired to donate that outfit or handbag.

    • Original Jenns says:

The hand-me-down line shows you don’t understand her comment on charity v community. I’ve outgrown a lot of clothing and shoes. Some is still in like new condition and great wardrobe staples. I’ve also outgrown a lot of clothes that I wouldn’t wear to work or expect others to. There’s a difference. My nephew has so many toys, many are brand new and he’s outgrown them. Such a petty comment.

    • CarbnFtPrnt says:

Except she never said hand me downs weren’t good enough for SmartWorks. Samrtworks doesn’t decide what people donate, so sometimes the clothe they got weren’t right for interviews. Babies clothes in excellent condition or new are always welcome. I’m sure Archie probabl y grew out of some of hs clothes before he got a chance to wear them

    • Bread and Circuses says:

What they’re donating may actually be gifts. I believe the royal family donates ALL gifts they receive to charity, and it’s quite likely a lot of baby clothes were given to them by royalty-fans after Archie was born.

  3. Who ARE These People? says:

They’re in their element, aren’t they? I find them so refreshing that I wish they were garnering this attention for some reason other than royal status.

    • Bella Bella says:

They are a sweet couple. Their ease with each other is so compelling. People are drawn to that.

  4. Erinn says:

Love the dress, but I especially like her makeup here. She looks fresh as hell. The blush tone she’s using now really suits her, and I’m digging the ‘my lips but better’ kind of shade of lipstick. It just makes her look so relaxed and fresh – the whole look is one of my favorites I’ve seen her in lately.

    • OriginalLala says:

the “my lips but better” is my favorite shade on most people, its always looks so so so good in almost any situation!

      • Erinn says:

It really does, doesn’t it? I keep a tarte lipstick in my purse that’s called Salt Lyfe – it’s just a hint more mauvey than my natural lip color and it just automatically makes me look like I know what I’m doing haha.

      • Lady D says:

Sobs. I have an extreme allergy to all aromas. I cannot wear lipstick, I’m vomiting within 8 seconds of smelling it. Along with the nausea, my lips burn, my tongue swells, I start gasping, I lose the ability to taste and the migraine with attendant blindness in the left eye arrives within a minute. There are some gorgeous shades of lipstick out there, they are so pretty and I tried 16 brands before I gave up. Even Burt’s Bee’s which is supposed to be natural triggers the reaction. I would love to wear lipstick, just love to, especially with my thin lips but I can’t.

      • Angel says:

Lady D, have you tried lip stain? Perhaps that would work for you. Just be careful and make sure that you have an EpiPen with you, since your allergic reactions sound pretty severe.

      • Erinn says:

Aww man, that sucks LadyD. I’m very scent sensitive so I have to avoid a LOT of lipsticks – but I find this tarte one to be pretty much the most non-offensive one I own. Bite beauty is another one that’s really natural (and Canadian) but I find it just has a waxy kind of taste or scent about it which annoys me. It’s almost the lack of fragrance/flavor that bothers me with that one.

    • OriginalLala says:

@Erinn, I have the same issue with Bite Beauty, I want to love them but I can’t 🙁
I just discovered Cheekbone Beauty, they are an Indigenous-owned beauty brand (based in Canada), just ordered my first lippie from them and I can’t wait to try it!

  5. Becks1 says:

Also, I agree that the line about “this is not a holiday” is absolutely aimed at the Cambridges. They always schedule a night or two completely off during their tours, but I don’t think Harry has one day off except for travel time.

  6. Moneypenny says:

“I’m here as a member of the royal family I’m here with you as a wife, mother, woman, woman of colour and your sister”. Not that all people of color need to feel this way, but her representation means a lot to me. I see a strong, intelligent, caring woman who looks like my daughters trying to make her mark on the world. I love it. My girls are already surrounded by a lot of successful women, but to have a visible princess is pretty great.

    • Valiantly Varnished says:

Representation matters. Even to people who don’t think it matters to them. It does. It’s a subconscious thing. I am a grown woman and it matters a lot to see a part-black woman in this role with such high visibility. And to see her doing SUCH an amazing job. Even at 39 it means a LOT to me to see.

      • MellyMel says:

Agreed. This is the main reason I feel so protective over her and now her little family. Seeing someone who looks like me in a position to do so much good is inspiring.

      • Moneypenny says:

Absolutely. I’m 40, so feel like a peer of hers and celebrate her successes! Showing the world what us black women can do.

I am also very protective of her and Archie.

    • kerwood says:

I’m not ashamed to say that I choked up a little when I read this, especially the ‘woman of colour and your sister’ part. Hopefully that will silence all those people who can’t believe that Meghan sees herself as a Black woman.

For so many people of the African diaspora, a trip to Africa is a dream. It’s a homecoming to a home we never had. A lot of us have an idealized image of Africa that has nothing to do with the reality. Meghan visited Botswana before with Harry but this is her first visit as Duchess of Sussex and with her son. I’m very moved that she thinks of the people she’s visiting as her brothers and sisters.

  7. Onerous says:

I LOVE that she’s only wearing her wedding band here. I always wished Kate would do that more. Flashing a giant ring in the faces of struggling people is gross to me.

I’ve found myself rarely wearing my engagement ring these days – it feels too showy.

  8. Sierra says:

Such a lovely video of her dancing and Harry looking besotted 😂

  9. SippingRoyalTea says:

The line about Archie growing out of things is being misreported. The statement that was made actually said that The Duke and Duchess received a lot of gifts from the public for Archie and since he’s only one baby and he’s growing fast she’s going to give them the clothes and toys they couldn’t use along with crayons and coloring books because they always need that stuff for children.

    • Moneypenny says:

That makes much more sense. One poorly written statement and it is a bad game of telephone with others misreporting downstream.

  10. Mumbles says:

Do members of the royal family refer to themselves in public as “members of the royal family”? I honestly don’t know the answer. Actually, I think I’ve heard the Queen referred to herself as “your queen.”

She does look glowing and lovely and at ease.

  11. Gabby says:

That dress is really not flattering on her 🙁

    • BayTampaBay says:

I think that is do the baby weight Meghan has not yet lost.

    • Millenial says:

Stop with these comments. She looks great.

I would encourage everyone to remove the words “baby weight” from their minds and from their comments.

    • Still_Sarah says:

@ Gabby : I think it’s the shoes that make the dress look bad. I hated the dress when I first saw the pictures but now I think it’s the wedges that ruin it for me.

      • Gabby says:

I hate that dress, no matter what shoes she would style it with. I do agree it looks worse with these wedges!

    • JayneBirkinB says:

I like the dress, it looks fun. I’m not a skinny Minnie, so dresses that have some flow look better on me. Meg has plenty of time to get into whatever shape she wants to be in. Archie is just 4 1/2 months old. Most women take a full year to slowly condition their abdomens post-pregnancy.

And even if she gained and kept 40 lbs, she would still be a woman of substance.

  12. Loretta says:

Amazing speech from Meghan! I loved the video of the dancing

    • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

I had to stop watching because I felt awful for her, standing up on the podium with her hem blowing around like that. 😣
She is a confident and gifted speaker, though, and still glows like she did when she was preggo. 😊

  13. TeddyPicker says:

The Harry and Meg thing sounds a little like the ‘Bill and Kathy’ normal cosplay both brothers seem to fetishize so much. But amazing to be able to meet them and not feel the weight of ‘meeting royalty’ – I bet that will mean a lot to the groups they’ll meet this week.

  14. RoyalBlue says:

The call them Harry and Meg part is what really caught me. It is most definitely part of them defining a new relationship with the commonwealth where they are coming as equals and not superiors, so no need to curtesy or bow. I really like this.

  15. Seraphina says:

I’d love to hang with them and be like: Harry, Meg, what do you think of ——-

  16. SippingRoyalTea says:

I don’t know why people are making a big deal out of what they want people to call them this isn’t a new thing. All of the younger royals do it especially at engagements that they want to be more relaxed. Before engagements the palace briefs people on how to address them but when you ask them they alway say to call them by their first name.

  17. himmiefan says:

No titles – breaking royal protocol! It’s Meghan’s fault! *eye roll*

Since the RRRs (racist royal reporters) have been so ugly, I hope H&M show Archie only to private groups or just to local media. Screw the RRRs.

And they can go home in a private jet.

    • Alex Jones says:

I think it would be really powerful if they brought Archie to the District 6 – Camp Malay event (where people lived together in harmony before they were separated because of apartheid). Or to bring him to some event dealing with apartheid. It would be beautiful to see them there with Archie. IMO, the symbolism to the world would be worth giving the “RRRs” what they want.

I could be wrong though. They’d predictably spin it in a negative way, per usual .

  18. Betsy says:

They both look so much more alive and aware (and prepared) than Kate and Willy. Her dancing is adorable and looks so much more tuned in than the usual stiff royal passing by or observing dancers.

But I dinged Kate for failing to weight her hens and I have the same thought here! Meghan! Get a real stylist to fix this crap for you!

  19. Peg says:

Over 380 press badges were given out, so the British Media can’t monopolize the coverage.
America Media is representing in South Africa, Australia is always there, Harry and Meghan are covered more in Australia than any other Royal.
The BM is trying to say Harry and Meghan lost all the goodwill they had, BS, so now they’re trying to force their hand saying they have to show Archie, since all their other harassment, racism and classism did not work.
Why do you think Archie and Meghan are staying put in South Africa, when Harry visits the other Countries, he is four months old and can only have a few vaccinations, so taking him in a crowed place, not really a smart thing to do.

  20. Nova says:

The media here has really been going out of their way to make a big deal of this visit but it has been backfiring. Someone was asked how they felt about the royal couple’s visit and they expressed surprise that Beyonce and Jay-Z were in the country. LOL.
Anyway, I was glad to hear Harry speak out about gender based violence which is taking up most of our public consciousness at the moment.

    • The response from people is actually very underwhelming. I know we don’t care about royals but yikes lol.

Media is def on PR overdrive. Have you seen news24? They’re pushing the tour pretty hard.

      • Jaded says:

The point of their visit isn’t to fill stadiums, it’s to meet with very targeted groups and it will be a full schedule for both of them. The press will always press but I don’t think Harry and Meg give a sh*t, they’ll teamwork with numerous organizations instead of showing up to a couple of events looking stiff and bored then f*ck off on a holiday.

      • Jaded, what are you upset about? Nova and I are saying the media is pushing the tour pretty hard considering that 8/10 SAns are ambivalent about it. It’s not a slight againt either Harry or/and Meghan, it’s what it is.

      • Taneesha says:

@Skeptical_sperm, what people are you talking about? There are videos online of screaming crowds there to meet them. Those were the fans they were counting on to be there to greet them and that should be good enough. I’m not sure what your expectations were but generally, not that many people are interested in these royals, not even the queen herself. They visit whatever country and you might see about 2,000 people (I’m being very generous here) lining up the streets to meet them but that’s such a small fraction of the entire populations in these countries, no? Like the last time the queen visited an African country, did you see the entire nation abandon everything just to go meet the queen? I mean except for royal fans, the largest majority of people are indifferent to these folks and whether they visit or not, life goes on for the rest of the country. If you were expecting millions of people to abandon everything and travel miles and miles to go meet Harry and Meghan, your was just a very silly expectation. Their fans were there to meet and greet them, they were the only people expected to be there and that’s good enough. Plus a lot of times, not many people will be allowed anywhere near these people due to the heavy security surrounding them etc so, there usually will be just a manageable crowd and that’s that. That’s not to mean, oh, nobody wants them etc.
I don’t think Jaded is upset about anything, in regards to your alternative facts.

      • Nova says:

And did you see the article calling SAfrcians “commoners” because they don’t care! It is now ridiculous.

  21. Beli says:

Not much chance of these two not having read their briefing notes 😉

  22. Lowrider says:

A 4 month old baby grew out f colouring books? Sounds like fan fiction from VF.

    • MrsBanjo says:

It was poorly written. That’s not what was said. They’re bringing unworn clothes they were gifted that Archie grew out of, as babies grow fast. They’re also bringing colouring books because they’re things children can use.

  23. dulcinea says:

I really like them both. They are good together and yes, maybe rich and a bit spoiled, but good at heart.

  24. Intheknow says:

I love that she referred to herself as a WOC so those who keep criticising her for saying she doesn’t see herself as a WOC. Of course the racists reports and their ilks are all over that comment….

She looks great and I am glad she isn’t starving herself to get back to her baby weight. It says (I think) a lot about how she feels about herself and HOW Harry feels about her…he LOVES HER. A bit of extra weight or not…

    • CommentingBunny says:

I saw this on Facebook and don’t know who to credit it to, but I love it:

“No, no, you have it wrong, I will not be working to get my body back.
      She was never lost.
She was here, giving every moment and detail to this sweet baby.
She was pushed and exhausted, stretched and stripped to make space for a new life.
      Please stand back and aside.
For her sacrifice she will not be scrutinized.
She will be loved, and thanked and bowed down to.
She will be allowed her time to heal and be settled into.
This body’s work will not be forgotten, hidden or erased.
And if you feel it should, you understand nothing about the gift she has given.
No, no Body don’t listen. Because I see you. I thank you deeply. You did so good.”

    • Carolin says:

I noticed that too, and I think it’s lovely.

  25. Lulu says:

I feel like she might be pregnant with baby number 2…. something about the roundness of her tummy and fullness of her face gives me natal, as opposed to ‘post-natal’, vibes. She’s glowing! If so, omg I hope it’s a girl this time ✌🏼

    • redheadwriter says:

I hate baby watches but I have to agree.

    • Betsy says:

Those would be some very close babies but I kind of had the same thought (and then felt ashamed!).

    • Elisa says:

+1, IMO she looked the same in her first pregnancy, you can especially see it in her face.

    • Taneesha says:

On of my uncles and his wife had 5 kids in 4.5 years. Each child is just about 10-11 months older than the other, they were a very busy couple, LOL. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Sussexes are pregnant again, it happens very often.

  26. Fluffy Princess says:

I love how they have planned this whole thing out. I love that they want to be part of the community (to their limited extent), and actually work and help out where they can.

I can’t wait to see what their press plan is — I do like the idea that so many media passes were given out, because once again it shows that the BM aren’t special. You want that photo or a word from M or H, BM? You’re gonna have to WORK for it (bitches!).

  27. sassbr says:

I hope everyone here follows Chris Jackson on IG, he’s the royal photog for Getty Images who works with the royals and he’s with the Sussex family now in Africa. He gets great pics!

  28. Sharon says:

It’s very windy today (we have the blowy South Easter) it’s gusting today and a bit in the chilly side for us Africans. And yes, we love to dance. We dance when we’re happy, sad or angry or protesting and we have songs to match every occasion. I hope they learn a few. The gender-based violence issue has been in the spotlight over the past month and a bit as we’ve had horrific incidents, which resulted in wide scale marches and protests from every level of society. Hopefully their visit will galvanise government and law makers into helpful action, not just words.

    • You really think gov and co will listen to these two when they’ve largely ignored the million of voices from actual women who are tirelessly relating their stories?

    • Noodle says:

@Sharon I look forward to reading more of your commentary as the week progresses. Getting the firsthand perspective from people within the communities being visited is so important. Please share what you see and know!!

  29. jenner says:

Meghan is absolutely glowing and gorgeous. For all those crappy comments about them being “exiled to Africa”, I say that’s BS. They clearly want to be there and are having a blast, and are doing genuine work with love.

  30. Juxt says:

Wth happened. I’ve never questioned her taste in shoes up til these! Looks like she tied two boxes of tissues on her feet!

    • Olenna says:

LOL! She is definitely not on her shoe game with these wedges. Reminds me of that stupid meme, “What are those?”

  31. liriel says:

She looks better with pregnancy weight. I recently saw a slim celebrity and was surprised how fragile she looked in person. Yuck. (no shade, really!)
But.. where do you see the wiglet? I’m terrible at seeing them!

  32. noway says:

Harry and Megs do the casual attire well. Sorry, I don’t like Harry and Megs, I prefer Harry and Meghan, Megs just seems to informal to me. I love her outfit, and sorry, I’m a wedge person. They are better for your feet anyway. In her older years she’ll be happy she wore more wedges than heels.

Just so everyone knows TMZ seems to have pictures of them getting off a commercial jet with Archie. It looks like he’s wearing a hat from when Harry was a baby. Yes the pictures are intrusive, but I’m torn cause he looks cute. I do hope we get one good clear set up picture with him on this trip. I know we don’t have a right to it, but I’d like it.

Also, this makes me so much happier with Harry and Meghan. I was pretty sure they just took the private jets cause they were offered them to begin with. They tried to make them carbon neutral, but that doesn’t really work optics wise, it just makes you look wealthy. I personally couldn’t blame them for taking them, but the optics were bad. Now they realize it and are flying commercial even more. I think this is a good thing to be evolving and learning. Good for them!!!!!

    • L4frimaire says:

About the jet thing, think it was and still way overblown. Unless you’re in multi- billionaire league, even those who can take private jets often fly commercial for long haul flights. Makes more sense from fuel and safety perspective. Their last 2 tours they flew commercial as well. When a Royals do these tours, what exactly is the reasoning behind it? Just good PR for UK, with trade and intelligence interests to follow?

  33. Connie luces says:

I didn’t know they had to use a 4 mos old baby as a prop! Is this common practice? As a mother no outsider who has lied on me can tell me to use my child. No one has stood up for this couple. Yet so many people are allowed to lie, insult and make money off this couple.

This child is a private citizen. Would I like to see baby Archie? Yes I would, but given all the negativity Meghan has endured, England isn’t in the position to tell her what to do with their child!

Let the RR parade their children around SA. If this tour continues at this pace; blacklash isn’t far away. I’m sure DDOC aren’t happy with the first day of this tour. They Sussex didn’t pull back! Why should they compromise their work ethics for the shiftless and boring DDOC? What should be happening is teaching the Cambridge get with the modern world. The days of planting trees, ribbon cutting and popping bubbly, being carried around on the peasants shoulders and donations from old money days are over!

The monarchy I believe is coming to an end. These people created these 3rd world countries! Meghan has shed light on just how selfish, useless and entitled these welfare recipients are!

They could end poverty if they wanted to. The rich hate change. Only the poor and hungry will kick down the door and say “ENOUGH OF THIS BULLSHIT!”

  34. Isnotafanofanything says:

I’m waiting for the negative comments on the “wedges of doom,” but haven’t seen any yet (guess that applies only to the DoC). I’m also waiting for the pearl clutching because her dress blew up in the wind (skirt weights anyone). Again, bad only if it happens to the DoC. I like Harry and Meghan and the work they are doing, but don’t like a double standard. BTW, liked both dresses today as they looked comfortable an appropriate.

They are the most comfortable Royals among the people…any people! No fake laughing or fake intrest just comfortable, confident and curious.

    • Poots McBoots says:

He’s got his mother’s charisma and ease. And I think they’re a cute couple.

    • Susan says:

Yes Molly, I completely agree! I have noticed something I’ve been doing as I view photos and/or videos of the two royal couples. With Kate, I look at her as an ornament – and I look at her only for her hair, makeup, outfit, shoes, handbag, and jewelry. Regarding William, I try not to look at him much – he’s just not impressive to me. Harry is though. And, regarding Meghan – I find myself looking at her many expressions of genuine care and kindness. I don’t look at her for what she’s wearing – because to me, she’s so much more than her physical appearance…..she has substance and purpose. Does anyone else look at these couples like I do??

  36. Simon says:

These trips to Africa demonstrate the ridiculousness that is the royal family.

Parading themselves around different countries without doing anything tangible to help people in those countries.

  37. Bread and Circuses says:

I really love Meghan stressing that she’s a woman of colour and feels her kinship to Africans, but I wonder if a few South Africans snickered when she said it, because to them, she must look almost as pale as Harry.

    • Taneesha says:

Bread and Circuses, I would be very surprised if South Africans snickered at a “pale” fair skin POC referring to themselves as such. South African POC come in lots of shades.

  38. blunt talker says:

I love how Harry takes care Meghan’s hair from the windy day. How he got up and put a blanket for her to sit on rather than the naked floor. He is so thoughtful when it comes to his wife. A very endearing quality.
