Duchess Meghan repeated her engagement dress for the WellChild Awards

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attend Wellchild Awards

Here are some photos of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at the WellChild Awards last night. Harry has been the patron of WellChild since 2007 – it was one of his first major patronages as an adult, and he always shows up for WellChild. Like we always say, Harry adores kids. He’s super-comfortable with kids. And kids with difficulties, kids with health problems… well, Harry cares even more. He always sets aside time to have private moments with certain kids at the WellChild Awards, and this is the second year in a row where he’s brought Meghan along to meet everyone.

Meghan decided to do a series of rewears for this appearance. I would think that the name “WellChild Awards” would mean something more like cocktail-business, but I think the dress code was just plain business. So Meghan rewore… the engagement announcement dress. This is the green P.A.R.O.S.H. dress she wore under her white coat for the engagement photocall in 2017, and she wore the same dress for the engagement interview the same day. The Sentaler coat is one that’s been in her closet for years and years too – she wore that over the Christmas holiday in 2017. She’s also back to wearing her coat around her shoulders like a Kardashian! Honestly, though, I don’t hate the repeats and the dress deserved to be repeated! The only thing I don’t like here is the color of her heels. Too… baby-poopy.

While they were there, Harry and Meghan confirmed several pieces of Archie news. One, he’s totally a redhead although Harry seems concerned about how bald the child is still at five months old. One of the people they spoke to dutifully told Hello: “Meghan said he has [red hair] and Harry said he definitely is, you can see it in his eyebrows. Harry said he’d had no hair for five months, but Meghan told him she had taken him to the playgroup and she said there were other children there with the same amount of hair or even less.” And Meghan told people that she had just taken Archie to his first playgroup class and Archie “loved it.”

Her shoes are cognac and amazing. She looks perfect.

  2. OriginalLala says:

I love when she does a side part and loose waves, giving me pre-Duchess, Rachel Zane vibes!

    • AnnaKist says:

I’ve been saying the same thing for ages. When their relationship was still (publicly) new and they came to Sydney for the Invictus Games, there were some shots of her in casual attire, cute little flats and her hair like this. She copped lots of flak for not dressing up like a royal-to-be. FFS, they weren’t even engaged then, it was an afternoon sports event, she was there as a spectator, and since that’s how we dress at sports events down here, unless you’re a faked-up, photoshopped wannabe “influencer” 😂 looking for wider fame, in which case, you can eff right off. She looked great (and totally appropriate) then and she looks great now, and I’m no royalist.

    • Erinn says:

I have MEGA hair envy. Mine is a hint longer than Meghan’s, but it’s quite fine. So it’s definitely nowhere near as amazing as hers. If I could just have any hairstyle though – this would be it.

  3. Becks1 says:

She looks amazing. I don’t love the coat over the shoulders look (its very Melania Trump to me), but I guess here it worked because it seems she took it off basically as soon as she got there.

the dress is great, love her hair, love the clutch/purse – just a great look here for her. I’m glad we got to see that engagement dress again.

    • notasugarhere says:

The coat-over-shoulders seems to be a thing many royal ladies are doing now. Meghan, Mary, Maxima, Letizia, Mathilde, Charlene. They’ve all been doing this. Maxima again the other day with her suit jacket, when they exited the plane for their India tour.

      • duchess of hazard says:

@notasugarhere – the coat over the shoulders was a real fashionable look back in 2017/18 I think, very Insta, and Meghan was a part of that culture then.

      • Lulu2 says:

I’m dying laughing at this “coat-over-shoulder” slang about a look that people have done since coats were invented. Do people everywhere not do this if they’re hopping out the car and taking their coat off again? I much prefer it to Kates always buttoned up coat ON look.
But srsly, people everywhere do this.

      • Becks says:

@Duchess of hazard, yes, that coat over the shoulders is very Intsa blogger circa 2015. I don’t like it at all because it looks sloppy but I do love her shoes. Her shoe game is always on point!

      • notasugarhere says:

I’m too clumsy to do something like that, as my coat would end up in a puddle or pile of snow 😉

      • MsIam says:

The coat over the shoulders is a very 1940s Hollywood look. Watch any Bette Davis movie and you’ll see that move. But like nota said, I’m so klutzy my coat will fall off and I’ll trip over it.

      • Moneypenny says:

@MsIam yes! I think 1940s with the coat like this. It isn’t a new Instagram thing.

      • Jadedone says:

Yesterday Us weekly had a headline about this that read “Duchess Meghan continues to be an expert at wearing a coat” it made me laugh out loud. Who isn’t an expert at wearing a coat???

    • Mignionette says:

I read somewhere that Royal ladies are not supposed to ‘undress’ in public. I wonder if this is why she favours this look to circumvent that rule ?

    • Jo73c says:

      Re: coat over the shoulders.
You have to understand the weather in London at the moment. It’s kind of cold, but somehow still muggy.
      Coat off = Chilly
      Coat on = Immediately sweaty
      You can’t win.

    • L4frimaire says:

I think part of the reason they drape coat over shoulders that is to give photographers a better view of their dress. Can see what she is wearing and get a good view of outfit underneath Easier to take on and off as well. Shots of them leaving event had her wearing it normally and belted up. Also she’s been doing this for a while, long before Harry. She looked beautiful and showing she’s fitting back into pre-pregnancy clothes. I loved the shoes. Very savvy choice. Harry’s speech was so great, very emotional.

  4. Kittycat says:

I was Harry’s speech at the award ceremony and I cried. He’s such a wonderful person.

    • Onlyashes85 says:

I was gonna say. Had me in my feelings. Just beautiful.

I’m a mom of four now. But back in 09/10 when I was a first time mom, I remember my eyes being open to a new kind of love. But also, those emotions made me vastly more aware of the suffering in the world. I’m sorry to anyone if that sounds shallow. It’s not that I didn’t know there was pain and heart break and injustice all over the globe. But it took on a new life for me now that I was a parent. It still does. I understand what he means. And it propels me to want to leave better world behind in whatever ways I can in my tiny section of the world. Not that it takes only parenting to want to do that.

      • Lady2Lazy says:

There is no shame in looking at the world with a new set of eyes once you have given birth because you have. Your viewpoint of the world, the people in other countries or in your own country look much different because they are. You now worry about not only today but the day after that, or possibly weeks/years as to how the world is changing and how will affect my child? It does matter and you are a mom with new insight into the world.

    • Maria says:

I loved the speech as well.

    • Loretta says:

Yup, he was so sweet and the speech was so great.

    • Royalwatcher says:

Agree 100%! He is so authentic and I think that’s what people are drawn to. That speech was beautiful and showed a real vulnerability. It’s also clear to see that this charity means a lot to him.

    • Beli says:

It was incredibly moving. It’s clear he has such a big heart and cares so much.

  5. M. says:

Meghan looked beautiful. I was hoping we would see that dress again. I really like the color combination of the shoes with the dress. I also found myself liking the way she draped the coat over her shoulders.

  6. Rogue says:

Yes I love the side part. To me she’s become more gorgeous since having Archie.

The stories of the young people and their families at the Wellchild awards are always so inspiring- really gives perspective.

There’s a clip of Prince Harry choking up during his speech. It’s very emotional.

  7. Erinn says:

I think I just don’t like the shoes with the color of the dress, maybe. Like – if they were paired with some jeans or a deep blue dress I think I’d like them more. They’re sort of a rust mixed with ochre or something in that realm, and it’s a great fall color. But I’m not digging it as much with the deep green.

The dress on the other hand – I LOVE it. It’s such a stunning color on her, and it fits like a glove.

  8. BayTampaBay says:

Meghan really looks great in that dress. Because of the coat, I could not get a complete view to judge the fit but it seems to be working with her post-pregnancy body.

    • Enn says:

I saw video of them inside talking with some of the children and she had taken her coat off…the fit isn’t great.

      It’s a beautiful dress, though.

      • Esme says:

It can just be a “yessss, I can still fit into this” moment, I’m sure we all have them… even when the fit is quite tight, sometimes you need that affirmation. 😉

And she might keep her current weight anyway, there’s no reason to insists she goes back to her “old” body (not that you’re insisting on this, it just seems a lot of the public conversation sorta goes this way)

      • BayTampaBay says:

@Esme, Meghan is getting a lot of heat for not dropping the pregnancy weight as quickly as Cathy and for wearing clothes that do not really fit by the commentariat on other sites. The Daily Fail is the worst but is by no means the only news-gossip site preoccupied with Meghan’s weight.

This is very unfair but it is happening.

      • Kebbie says:

The same people would call her shallow and vain if she lost the weight right away. She can’t win with those racists.

      • Bohemian Angel says:

It doesn’t matter if the dress was a little tight, it still fit and she looked lovely.
Meghan should not be getting any flack about not losing the baby weight as soon as she walked out of the bloody maternity ward, she is doing it the CORRECT way, losing the weight slowly and making sure she is healthy, this is important for both mother and baby. Losing the weight too fast is unrealistic and unhealthy unless you naturally snap back. I think a lot of women that are currently postpartum appreciates Meghan right now for showing the REALISTIC way of shedding the weight and not starving herself to the point where she is thinner than she was before the pregnancy in a matter of weeks.
There’s enough pressure on women without other women setting dangerous weight goals or taking the piss ffs. She’s doing good for five months after giving birth, it took me almost a bloody year!

    • notasugarhere says:

She looks great. She’d be criticized if she bought a bunch of new clothes in this size, as she’s still losing baby weight. Or if they want to try for another baby soon, why bother? Better to be healthy about it.

  9. Marie says:

She looked stunning last night! My favorite look on her.

  10. S808 says:

She looks phenomenal! She has been glowing since she gave birth to Archie.

  11. Edo says:

She better had repeated that thing a few times as it costs more than 90% of all Brits ear per year. Brit Pounds 60.000 for one dress. Poor taste it is.

    • blue36 says:

The dress was owned before she got married, so I highly doubt it cost the British taxpayers anything.

    • HK9 says:

If you think you actually can trust the numbers you read, you may be the one with poor judgement. It’s a retail price people, we’ll never know how much she actually paid until we see receipts and guess what-we don’t have those.

    • Becks1 says:

Wait, are you saying that dress cost 60,000 pounds? Because that is definitely not true. I just did a quick search on their website, and it seems their short dresses like that (as opposed to gowns) range from 300-600 dollars. I think that’s USD, but still. That’s not 60,000 pounds. Not by a long shot.

    • Beli says:

      This dress is about £430…

    • MsIam says:

You are referring to the gown that she wore when taking the formal pictures. That is not this dress. People keep complaining about dresses that cost so much that haven’t been reworn. Where has Meghan been that she can wear a formal dress like that? When she went on the state tours she was pregnant so it wouldn’t fit. The woman has been married for just over a year, give it time. And Kate has hundreds of expensive dresses and is steady buying more.

    • Beach Dreams says:

Your obvious trolling won’t change the fact that Meghan looked spectacular last night. I know you hate to see it, but you’ll just have to deal 😁

    • Royalwatcher says:

What in the world are you on about?! That dress did not cost £60,000. Don’t be stupid. Stop trolling.

    • notasugarhere says:

Been over and over the engagement photo dress so many times on here. She was a private citizen, it cost tax-payers nothing (announced by Palace it was privately purchased), and fashion folks on here agreed she would have gotten it for 5000 or less.

Are you a new-found Beatrice fan, pretending to like her now because you hate Meghan? I ask only because of your user name. There are Kate stans who are now Team York, when they hated them before. They didn’t like people bringing proof of Kate bullying teenage Beatrice and Eugenie, so they had to hate the York sisters. Now they’re pro-Beatrice as a shield to being Meghan-haters.

      • Bella DuPont says:

Brace yourself ma cherie, because you’re going to have to repeat it many, many more times in the future, I’m afraid. These MAGA types can be incredibly, deliberately thick when it comes to poc-related logic. 🙂

    • Olenna says:

Ha! So full of resentment, Edo. Why don’t you go post your bitter comments on the Keen threads, or would you like me to do it for you? The future future queen has spent a small fortune on clothes and her “body of work” has little to show for it.

    • BayTampaBay says:

The gown that she wore when taking the formal pictures may have had a retail price tag of £60,000 but I will never believe Meghan paid £60,000 for that dress.

My gut feeling is that the dress was just a loaner for the formal engagement picture shoot. I know the BRF cannot accept loaners but Meghan was not a member of the BRF at the time of formal engagement picture shoot. I bet a rack of dresses were procured by the photographer and several different sets of formal engagement pictures were shot as happens on many magazine fashion shoots.

      • L4frimaire says:

I read somewhere that she picked engagement photo shoot dress off a rack of clothes provided. She borrowed that black dress for the engagement shoot. As for the green dress she wore last night, once again they’re talking up the price tags, even though she owned these items before she married Harry and paid for it herself in Canadian dollars. Why this obsession with what Meghan, and only Meghan, spends on clothes. She had a lot of very high end designers prior to her marriage, and it’s was all her money. It’s ridiculous when Kates wardrobe is very bespoke and expensive, but she gets called thrifty, when she wears cheap shoes or a headband with her couture.

      • Your Cousin Vinny says:

@l4frimaire, to be fair there was a lot of criticism on here yesterday for Kate’s new bespoke tour outfits and there weren’t a whole lot of people suggesting she got them free or at a discount.

    • M. says:

This comment is the perfect example of when trolling becomes an epic fail. It is also evidence that tabloid readers lack basic comprehension skills. The green dress Meghan is wearing is not the same dress she wore for the engagement photos.

I know it upsets the trolls to know that Meghan had her own earned wealth before marrying Prince Harry. She bought that dress with her money and not the taxpayers’.

      • (TheOG)@Jan90067 says:

This green dress is the one Meghan wore when she and Harry CAME OUTSIDE TO ANNOUNCE their engagement. Under a belted, white, wool coat. SHE OWNED THE DRESS, COAT, AND SHOES PRIOR TO GETTING ENGAGED FORMALLY TO HARRY.

This is NOT the dress from the FORMAL ENGAGEMENT PHOTOSHOOT BY THE POLISH PRINCE PHOTOGRAPHER.

I hope this clears it up for those trolls for whom reading comprehension is troublesome.

      • BayTampaBay says:

POLISH PRINCE PHOTOGRAPHER aka….Prince Alexi Lubomirski.

      • (TheOG)@Jan90067 says:

Thank you BTB, that was all I could remember about him, and not “coffeed up” enough to Google it 😊

    • Mignionette says:

Lol – this comment here takes the biscuit for most ridiculous I have seen to date.
      (1) This is NOT ‘that’ engagement dress.
      (2) The dress you speak of was bought by Meg whilst she was not yet a member of the RF.
      (3) She would not have paid 60k for it rather R&R would have let her ‘loan it’ or buy it at a considerable reduction as a quid pro quo bc shortly after their sales went through the roof and even Eugenie wore one of their dresses as her reception dress. Funny how the press did not publicize the cost of that dress which likely was into the 5 or 6 figures….

      • Your Cousin Vinny says:

I think the press and the public generally go easier on those born into the BRF as opposed to those that married in

      • LahdidahBaby says:

Yes, YourCousin, that seems very true — and especially if the newcomer to the BRF is a POC.

    • Chelle says:

60,000 pounds. 600 pounds. I would have bought something that I felt I looked good in as well as something that made me feel good too for those photos and events. So, I don’t have a problem with it. Wouldn’t most women have done the same with the budget they have or have been given?

    • noway says:

If that dress cost 60,000 pounds yeah that would be a travesty no matter who paid for it. It is a really nice dress, but not 60,000 pounds nice. No way that dress costs that much, and not sure where anyone got that info. I haven’t seen a story with that amount at all. Are we making things up again?

      • Kebbie says:

They’re talking about the Ralph and Russo dress she wore for the formal engagement photos. I highly doubt she paid retail price, but anything to get a dig in at Meghan. Even if it is a two year old story!

    • ProfPlum says:

Your math is wack. That dress is not 60,000 pounds. Try again.

  12. janey says:

Harry was at our local (ish) children’s hospital where my son is treated a little while ago. Sadly we weren’t there that day (or not, I’m actually thrilled we weren’t there for once!) and everyone said how amazing he was with everyone he met, a complete natural with all the kids. There are loads of photos of him on their insta with him and the children there. Everyone looked thrilled and vaguely star struck.

    • notasugarhere says:

What a sweet story. Hoping your son is doing well.

    • Lady2Lazy says:

I hope that your son is well also. Harry does seem to take to children like a duck to water. He seems so much at ease and purely happy in the comfort of children. He seems to truly love children, engage with them and to place himself on the floor so the he can interact with them. Some people are born with this gift, which Harry truly seems to have.

  13. Cidy says:

Love love the color of this dress!!

  14. Royalwatcher says:

His speech was everything. It made me cry. I love the work he’s done for WellChild over the years and am so glad it seems like Meghan will join him annually for the awards.

  15. Nev says:

    Go Duchess Meghan.

  16. Joy says:

I just want to say that i’m loving the kind comments here. The internet can be a lovely place sometimes

  17. Loretta says:

A girl said to Meghan “you look amazing and you’ve just had a baby” and Harry said to Meghan “See, I told you!”. So sweet!

  18. RoyalBlue says:

Love the sincerity when they work. They are soulmates for sure.

So much good info here, Archie having play dates already! I love how they come across as your friends next door.

    Our duchess. Duchess with solutions!

  19. Lene Malan says:

I don’t know much about fashion but a summer dress, heavy coat and bare legs???

    • Mina says:

You definitely don’t know anything about fashion (or just like….wearing clothes in general?) if you think an emerald green sheath dress is a “summer dress”

    • MEL says:

You obviously don’t know much about anything. Bare legs? Are we back to that bs?

    • M. says:

Oh no! A woman wore a coat and a dress. Oh the horror! Lock her up!

    • BayTampaBay says:

The green dress is wool not cotton or silk. Wool is an Autumn/Winter fabric.

      • notasugarhere says:

Adding HM wears wool and silk, or wool/silk blends year-round. She always sticks to natural materials.

      • BayTampaBay says:

@nota, I read somewhere that the fabric for QEII’s clothes was chosen with the main goal being to minimize wrinkling.

      • Seraphina says:

@baytampabay, YES!! And as others have posted, the color is a dead give away it’s an autumn ensemble. Especially with the shoes. I’m not digging the coat being worn like that but I still think she looks great.

      • notasugarhere says:

Yes, Angela Kelly said HM taught her a lot about selecting fabrics that work for the job. That’s also why you see her with extended back slits in the long coats/jackets worn over dresses. She can move the coat out of place when she sits down, wrinkles the dress, but stands up with an unwrinkled coat covering the dress.

    • Bella DuPont says:

      Pssst…..(whispers)….it’s no longer 1959…..it’s now 2019…

      Hope that helps. 😉

    • Hotsauceinmybag says:

@Lene Malan you’re embarrassing yourself. Go home

    • MellyMel says:

The color and the material would let you know that it’s NOT a summer dress.

    • Honey says:

She kind of throws me off too with the bare legs and heavier costs in colder weather. I’ve just chalked it up to she’s one of those people who don’t like to wear hose or tights.

You know what else throws me off? When I see moms all bundled up but the little one is not. But I just shrug that off too as mom knows best.

      • Le4Frimaire says:

Bare legs not that big a deal. It’s not that cold out. Going from car to the venue and back is hardly trekking through a blizzard. She lived in Canada for, what, 5 years. I’m sure a little chill in the air is manageable

    • Kebbie says:

How is that a summer dress?

    • Kristina says:

Wow! I thought we weren’t supposed to attack other commenters. I’m sorry about the rudeness you’ve had in response to a pretty banal comment!

      • Jadedone says:

@Kristina I totally agree. It was such a minor comment but reactions like “you are embarrassing yourself, go home” seem really over the top and not necessary. I personally agree that if you are wearing a (fabulous) fall coat tights might also make sense to keep you warm.

    • CairinaCat says:

Just ignore Lene, they were being a big racist in another thread.

  20. Originaltessa says:

I love this dress and the color is absolutely beautiful on her… But, it doesn’t fit.

    • MsIam says:

The fit is fine and she looks great. If you want to complain about fit, go look at pictures of what Fergie and her daughters’ wear. And none of them have had a baby recently.

    • L4Frimaire says:

I don’t have an issue with the fit. She is wearing the belt higher on her waist than before baby, and more filled out in bust and hips, but overall looks good on her. Bet it felt good getting back into it. Good for her. Based on the amount of comments (over 10k) on the Fail, she’s paid their rent for the month.

      • BayTampaBay says:

@L4Frimaire, I am glad I am not the only one that checks out the comments at The Daily Fail.

The Fail should really buy Meghan a house in Monaco after all the money she has made them.

      • Le4Frimaire says:

@BayTampa I skim the articles, which mentions what everything she’s wearing cost every 2nd paragraph, and look at comments numbers. Rarely read the comments themselves because don’t want to get covered in that sewer sludge. They are either toxic, whiny ( why can’t a Harry be like he was before and when will she go away —waaaah), to outright bonkers crazy. The things in those people’s head🙄.

  21. Nic919 says:

This is bad trolling. Are we really going to complain about publicity for an event that rewards kids for accomplishing great things?

    • notasugarhere says:

Of course. Next they’ll blame Meghan for the date of this event, when the WellChild Awards date was set long before the W&K visit dates.

  22. Flying fish says:

Meghan looked beautiful. The hair, dress and shoes…beautiful.

  23. Murphy says:

I guess I shouldn’t show him a picture of my baby (who’s a month older than Archie), she’s had a full head of thick hair since the day she was born.

    • (TheOG)@Jan90067 says:

My brother and sister were both born with full heads of thick hair (which funnily enough, turned VERY thin as they grew up). I, on the other hand, was born bald, with platinum peach fuzz. I am the ONLY one of the three of us that grew a head of very thick, wavy hair. My older nephew had wisps, and he grew into babyhood with what I call “Roger Daltry curls” (which he STILL has); the younger nephew had thick, coarse, straight hair, which fell out, and came in silky straight. As he grew up, it got thicker, and became nice and wavy.

So “baby hair” isn’t an indicator of what you’ll most likely end up with.

Archie can end up with a mass of thick, falling red curls, fuzzy red hair like Harry’s is now, or the thinner straight hair Harry had as a boy. Or as he grows, his hair can darken up (as mine did, going from platinum to sandy bronde). You just never know with kids.

    • L4frimaire says:

My kids were born with thick black curly hair, it fell out and now it’s a darkish/ mid brown. All their cousins were bald so who knows.

  24. amanda says:

She doesn’t dress like a Kardashian with that coat on her shoulders. Anyone can do that. I do it all the time and i never saw it on a Kardashian before. She looks great.

  25. Valiantly Varnished says:

Those shoes are FAB. I have a pair of pumps in this color and I love them. Classic and chic.

    • Hotsauceinmybag says:

From where? I would love a pair in that cognac!

      • notasugarhere says:

I found a few options online.

Aldo Febriclya in faux suede medium brown

Calvin Klein Gayle pumps in cognac suede

Jessica Simpson Claudette leather pumps in burnt umber

      • Valiantly Varnished says:

I got mine at H & M a few years ago. The heels is shorter than Meghan’s which makes them comfortable to wear for long hours at work.

      • Hotsauceinmybag says:

Thank you beautiful people! @Valiantly, I too lean towards shorter heels for the comfort factor.

    • Abby says:

I mean… they’re definitely cute, but why did pointy toed heels have to start trending again? So uncomfortable. I have to do round toe pumps.

  26. Seraphina says:

I love the shoes too. And it’s refreshing to hear of Harry’s angst in regards to the hair. As a mom, been there done that. Everything you scrutinize and wonder if all is ok. I love them more and more. Kudos and a job well done.

  27. Cosmo says:

Harry’s speech was amazing. Meghan looks great and looks like she connects with people as well as Harry. These two are the number one Royals.

  28. Ina says:

She looks fabulous, fresh, and very polished. I don’t mind the shoes at all.

  29. Jo says:

I love the colors! It looks amazing on her, I much prefer this to the blushy tones. And I adore her Manolos. They look beautifully seasonal with the emerald (but then I am a magpie for anything cognac). Beauty wise she is glowing, as always.
Now for the not so good… I abhor the coat-over-the-shoulder thing. It’s just a personnal pet peeve, IMO it just looked silly from the side and once inside, shaking hands with organizers and such. I’ve seen people defend it for practicality, say at a desk in the office, but in this setting it just seemed like a fashun statement I did not care for. It looked so much better later on with her arms in, you know, the sleeves! I also thought that the outfit, while gorgeous, maybe read more business-y and might have been better for a daytime event.

  30. Jo says:

Also… the fit was just. not. good. You can’t see it from these pictures, but it looked uncomfortable in some of the videos I saw. Now this is by no mean a dig at her body, it’s purely a fit issue. Before anyone jump at me, I get that she’s postpartum! It wouldn’t feel this way it if this was a one-off, but this has been an ongoing issue. She’s had trouble in that department before, during and after her pregnancy, so this seems like something her team is dropping the ball on. It just makes me mad for her. She’s so gorgeous! I want her to feel her absolute best! They have ALL of the ressources, tailoring shouldn’t be this complicated.

    • Team says:

Does she have a team for this stuff? I thought that people article from earlier this year confirmed that she was styling herself (though I’ve assumed in the past that Jessica offered some unpaid advice). I find myself able to believe because of her lack of polish (fit issues, wrinkles, the overall simplicity of her looks etc.) Also I feel like it would be a big topic and BM would use it to fan the anger of tax papers over whether or not she’s worth the money and why does she need it and how dare she be so wasteful and whatever else they could come up with to make people hate her more. They literally count everything, including carbon emissions, to see how much resources she has the nerve to waste (or use for the rest of us). Can’t see them missing this.

    • Mignionette says:

I am guessing that Meghan does not want to outlay on clothes for a rapidly changing post partum body. Especially as we may not see those outfits for another year or two. I am guessing that she and Harry are not indifferent to having a sibling for Archie sooner rather than later, so with that level of uncertainty splashing out on a huge post preggo wardrobe is pointless.

That said the UK and US high street have a great deal of mid-priced and diffusion line shops where she could stock up a whole season for the cost of one ‘custom made’ Jenny Packham outfit…. Meghan could also hire a up and coming freelance stylist to help her adjust the fit of any off the rack purchases to make them more bespoke/ well fitting.

      • noway says:

I think you might be right, plus I remember the coat not the dress, and I’m sure a lot of people are that way. Honestly, a lot of these dresses they wear are so pretty it’s a shame if they don’t wear it more than once. Some of Kate’s I could do without, but a lot of hers are pretty too.

    • Kebbie says:

I love her, but the fit of her clothes has always been terrible. Pre-baby her tailoring was awful, so I don’t expect it to be any different post-baby. Too much fabric or not enough, it’s always an issue for her.

Green is definitely her color though.

  31. Linda says:

Meghan looks stunning here and she just glows.

  32. MrsBanjo says:

They updated the Maya Angelou quote on their Instagram to adjust for the typo, and also apologised for it, which is really nice.

  33. MellyMel says:

I really love this dress! The color is gorgeous, especially on her skin tone. And Meghan has great shoe game! The coat over the shoulders isn’t really a Kardashian thing, but more a Fashion Girl/Insta thing. Every fashion blogger I follow does this look, especially in the last couple of years.

  34. PlainJane says:

I agree that Megs looks completely lovely 😊

Anyone else think she’s expecting Baby Sussex #2, or is it just me at this point?

  35. TheOriginalMia says:

She looks lovely. I’m so glad she rewrote this dress. The color is great on her. The shoes are to die for. Love the cognac. I don’t have a problem with the coat over her shoulders. She took it off inside and put it in when she left.

  36. lucy2 says:

She looks lovely, I like the green color.
I love the photo of the kids hugging her! She really does seem invested, and connects with the people she meets. Harry does as well.

I’d never heard of WellChild, but I just looked into and it’s a wonderful organization.

  37. Skydome says:

I’m wondering about the logistics of attending a playgroup when you’re a royal. Who else would attend & would they be vetted in advance? Or does she just sign up for an established group & discreetly join in without a lot of fanfare🤔

    • Kebbie says:

I don’t think there’d be any kind of vetting of the other parents, just security when she goes

  38. noway says:

I think we should encourage her to wear color, and stop with the muted clothes or black & white, Khaki, etc. Her clothes are generally always good, except when she pulls an Angelina Jolie and goes baggy or some of those shirt dresses. Still she does look more striking in color, like this green. Love it!!! Plus, her hair has been spectacular. Love it.

As far as Archie’s hair. My kid didn’t have much hair for a long time, and then it was that thin thin hair forever barely covers the head. One day I was helping her with her hair, and it was so thick. I hadn’t noticed it had changed dramatically, so don’t think Harry has to worry about it yet. Also, I was a red head for a while, and not from a bottle either. Then it turned brown, so kids change. Pretty colors are wasted on the kids. Several times I’ve wanted to take one of my daughter’s friends in and say that’s the color I want.

  39. Ennie says:

Even the people that don’t like them are commenting about them, some are even obsessed with them. They will be paying attention to the DD of Sussex even if other people fly to the moon.

    • Kebbie says:

There were like a thousand comments on the DM yesterday saying “why is this the top story when Will and Kate are in Pakistan????!” I wanted to say “Um, because lunatics like you can’t help yourselves.” They complain about constant coverage of Meghan as their comments hit 5k+ on every single post about her.

      • BayTampaBay says:

@Kebbie, 30% of comments at the Daily Fail are bots and paid posters. I will try and find the link and post here.

Another big section of comments in every article written about Meghan deals with Meghan “merching” via Meghan’s Mirror, taking kick backs, promoting SoHo House for money, not living in Frogmore Cottage, living in a private rental in Mayfair and trying to monetize Archie. It really is too much to believe.

  40. K2Squared says:

    Meghan looked beautiful.

  41. Jenny says:

Three cheers. 1—Repeating a nice dress 2—Fitting into it after baby 3—The shoes, also not caring knowing people will “notice” the repeat

  42. Bc says:

Wont lie, im obsessed. A week without news on these two got me thirstier than whatever. First off, shes goegeous. Secondly, they reposted and edit the Maya Angelou quote. Better late than never i guess. Third, their love for each other and for the children of the world, is so beautiful. Fourth, i feel like 2019 has been a slow news year for CB. 90% of the news has been on the royals and the other has been on D list stars with only Angie being A list. Just a general observation compared to previous years.

  43. Birds eye view says:

it still makes me cringe that on a night that celebrates the most amazing children on th planet people are commenting on a dress…and harrys speech?…anyone in the UK knows th royals don’t do emotion…if u dislike this couple ther is something wrong with you.

  44. truthSF says:

She looks lovely in that dress. You can see where she’s more filled out due to motherhood. And Harry’s speech was very moving and emotional!💙💚

    • Abena Asantewaa says:

Piers,Morgan and Kevin Maguire, editor of The Mirror, a real Meghan hater, were blasting Harry for being emotional. Andrew Pearce of Daily Mail also chipped in with his hate as usual. Piers thinks there is somthing wrong with Harry, for showing emotions, Kevin Maguire was just pitiful. Only Susanna Reid defended Harry. PM ‘s obssession of DDOS is worrying.

  45. Lola says:

They looks so happy and in love
